Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Turkey to send another jihad flotilla to Gaza, this time with troops

Jul 26, 2014 8:40 pm By Robert Spencer

The people on the Mavi Marmara flotilla were genocidal Jew-hating jihadis, as you can see in the second video above: they were chanting a jihad war cry recalling Muhammad’s massacre of the Jews of Arabia: “Khaybar, Khaybar, O Jews, the army of Muhammad will return.” See the photos here of their weapons.

And now Turkish troops will be accompanying a new jihad flotilla to Gaza. Will they attack Israeli troops?

“Turkey to send another Freedom Flotilla to Gaza,” Middle East Monitor, July 26, 2014:

The Turkish humanitarian relief organisation (IHH) is currently organising a “Freedom Flotilla II” which will carry humanitarian aid to the besieged Gaza Strip, IHH chairman Bulent Yildrim said Thursday.

In statements to Gulf Online, Yildrim said that his organisation has embarked on legal procedures and paperwork required to obtain a permit for the trip. As soon as a final permit is issued, the IHH along with other international organisations will immediately set up the convoy.

The chairman of IHH, a major organiser of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla I, said that Turkish army troops will accompany the ships to protect it from any potential attack, pointing out that his organisation demanded the government to provide protection for them as Turkish citizens.

Maze Keheil, the president of the European Campaign for Lifting the Siege on Gaza, confirmed his campaign’s intention to take part in the new flotilla, as it did in first one in 2010.

        Take your point, Jeff, but the Turks have ALWAYS been the enemy, from the time they started attacking Christian Anatolia in the 11 century until they were finally stopped at the gates of Vienna.
        It has always been the ambition of the Turks to overrun Europe and convert St Peter´s into a mosque.
        The much vaunted Turkish ” secularism” is only skin deep. Scratch the surface and the rabid Muslim comes out.

        Here is the law on vessels that are exempt from attack & the conditions of that exemption. SRM 1994 “Classes of vessels exempt from attack
        47. The following classes of enemy vessels are exempt from attack:
        (a) hospital ships;
        (b) small craft used for coastal rescue operations and other medical transports;
        (c) vessels granted safe conduct by agreement between the belligerent parties including:
        (i) cartel vessels, e.g., vessels designated for and engaged in the transport of prisoners of war;
        (ii) vessels engaged in humanitarian missions, including vessels carrying supplies indispensable to the survival of the civilian population, and vessels engaged in relief actions and rescue operations;
        (d) vessels engaged in transporting cultural property under special protection;
        (e) passenger vessels when engaged only in carrying civilian passengers;
        (f) vessels charged with religious, non-military scientifc or philanthropic missions, vessels collecting scientific data of likely military applications are not protected;
        (g) small coastal fishing vessels and small boats engaged in local coastal trade, but they are subject to the regulations of a belligerent naval commander operating in the area and to inspection;
        (h) vessels designated or adapted exclusively for responding to pollution incidents in the marine environment;
        (i) vessels which have surrendered;
        (j) life rafts and life boats.
        Conditions of exemption
        48. Vessels listed in paragraph 47 are exempt from attack only if they:
        (a) are innocently employed in their normal role;
        (b) submit to identification and inspection when required; and
        (c) do not intentionally hamper the movement of combatants and obey orders to stop or move out of the way when required.

        Loss of exemption

        Hospital ships
        49. The exemption from attack of a hospital ship may cease only by reason of a breach of a condition of exemption in paragraph 48 and, in such a case, only after due warning has been given naming in all appropriate cases a reasonable time limit to discharge itself of the cause endangering its exemption, and after such warning has remained unheeded.

        50. If after due warning a hospital ship persists in breaking a condition of its exemption, it renders itself liable to capture or other necessary measures to enforce compliance.

        51. A hospital ship may only be attacked as a last resort if:

        (a) diversion or capture is not feasible;
        (b) no other method is available for exercising military control;
        (c) the circumstances of non-compliance are sufficiently grave that the hospital ship has become, or may be reasonably assumed to be, a military objective; and
        (d) the collateral casualties or damage will not be disproportionate to the military advantage gained or expected.

        All other categories of vessels exempt from attack
        52. If any other class of vessel exempt from attack breaches any of the conditions of its exemption in paragraph 48, it may be attacked only if:

        (a) diversion or capture is not feasible;
        (b) no other method is available for exercising military control;
        (c) the circumstances of non-compliance are sufficiently grave that the vessel has become, or may be reasonably assumed to be, a military objective; and
        (d) the collateral casualties or damage will not be disproportionate to the military advantage gained or expected.”

          45Charlie, the “Freedom Flotilla” is *pretending* to be a humanitarian enterprise, while actually having a bellicose and ugly purpose.

          It is also about propaganda—not only can these Jihadists attack Jews, but they can howl when the Jews board the ships if they defend themselves.

          And all too much of the world accepts this meretricious bs at face value.

        No way. Palestine is an independent state and recognized as such by the UN general assemblee.
        Turkey is a Nato member and can invoke article 5 of this treaty in order to get help from other Nato countries. These other countries are obliged to help.
        Since the last elections in Palestine in 2006 Hamas is the leading party instead of the Palestinian authority of Abbas. Hamas won these elections with an absolute majority. Due to this result , Hamas is in fact the only government in Palestine.
        The consequence of this is, that Hamas has the legal right to invite foreign troops on it”s soil.
        If the israelis dare attack Turkish troops, Turkey will invoke Nato.
        Ergo. Israel is finished and btw this is a good thing. This massacre was the absolute limit.

      I agree, it is not possible that they do not see the Jew hatred. The Israel/Gaza events have happened so many times in exactly the same pattern that reporters cannot fail to have seen and understood.

      My guess is the reason reporters have the anti-Israel stance is greed, perhaps all the media houses have been bought out to report as they do.

      As for countries not voting for Israel and against Gaza, perhaps there is a quid pro quo with the Arab nations – want oil? vote against Israel.

      All of the above is speculation on my part, but it is the explanation that makes the most sense to me.

      It’s because of the reverse racism of the PC MC paradigm which has become dominant and mainstream throughout the West. In the perspective of this PC MC paradigm, Jews are Honorary Whites, Muslims are Brown People — indeed, they have become the #1 Minority in the world whose grievances must be respected; and because according to that paradigm Brown People can never do wrong and White People always do wrong, Israel has become transformed in their eyes into an “Apartheid State” viciously “oppressing” a Brown People and “occupying” their land, and when these poor Muslim victims perpetrate any manner of offensive violence, no matter how savage, no matter how ghoulish, they do so as victimized “freedom fighters”; and when these poor Muslim victims vociferate and codify any manner of hateful genocidal rhetoric, they are somehow justified (when they are not ignored). And by a cruel Kafkaesque and surreal Orwellian Alice-in-Wonderland inversion of reality, the poor Muslims become the New Jews ever vulnerable to a genocide, while the Israelis (and by extension all Jews) have become the New Nazis.

      Thus one can see how in this perspective, Muslims can do no wrong, and Jews (and all Westerners) can do no right whenever they lift a finger to oppose Muslims or even to complain.

      This isn’t my perspective; I’m only describing the PC MC paradigm which has become dominant and mainstream throughout the West. We need not be baffled why the West does such perversely insane things as defend Muslims while vilifying Israel.

      Now, why has the West become dominated by this PC MC paradigm? That’s the more interesting question. I have attempted to analyze this in detail in dozens of essays on my blog over the years (for example, see Montaigne: Godfather of PC MC? — though be warned: that essay is the equivalent of hurling the reader into the deep end of the swimming pool before he might know how to swim in these particular analytical waters… but if he reads carefully, and if he’s not an obstinate asymptote (as some are in the Counter-Jihad) with asymptotic prejudices by which his ethical narcissism is wedded to the worldview Box he’s in, I trust he will be swimming like a fish by the time he finishes).

    Political and ideological matters aside, I had issues with how Israeli naval forces handled the first flotilla. Boarding and confronting those yahoos was unnecessary. If Turkish troops are aboard the ships next time, a firefight will almost certainly occur.

    How difficult could it be to foul the ship’s screws once they cross the demarcation line? Bind their screws and let them founder off the coast for a while. A week or two enjoying the Mediterranean sun using up their water will literally take the wind out of their sails. Then it is just a matter of towing them into port for humanitarian reasons, followed by the required searches and disarming of all aboard by a friendly company of reinforced infantry.

    Turkey sending so called “Freedom Flotilla” to Gaza is going to put the wind up the EU countries because they do not like and want any emotionally unstable yahoos who run a country. Turkey been begging for decades for a full EU membership. Apparently EU been asking them to get their Human Rights act in order. This act by Turkey is sheer provocation and they are not objective about the whole thing. They are trying to suck NATO and EU into their ill fated endeavour.

    I can’t imagine that NATO and EU will not support it: NATO troops only get involved when their members are attacked without provocation. Here Turkey is taking the risk and they are exposing themselves to be unreliable partners and acting irrationally.

    There is no chance Israel will allow any uninvited foreign ship onto their shores. Turkey will not allow that either.

    Turkey involvement is extremely dangerous

    I’m afraid Israel has to deal with a lot of aspects on this issue.

    I think in a vacuum, Israel could probably beat Turkey, one-to-one. Of course, it wouldn’t be cheap and to Israel, a civilized society, any casualties are tragic. But, the Muslims are putting a noose around Israel. Hezbollah to the north is amassing rockets, as Hamas to the south was. Obviously, in the case of any generalized conflict, rockets from Lebanon and Gaza will be used extensively.

    There is a special danger, however, from organized countries like Turkey. They have regular armies that can be mobilized for attack and occupation, as well as defense. So, Israel always had to maintain a defense capability against mechanized armies, while also dealing with the guerrilla and suicide tactics of Hamas and Hezbollah. This may be one reason why Israel, against all intuition, supported the rebellion against the Assad regime in Syria. A ragtag army of jihadis is still less of a threat than an organized army the Syrian government, as long as Israel maintains serious borders.

    But the most important front for Israel is US opinion. Israel, like South Africa before the fall of the white government, is susceptible to a general world boycott and sanctions. There is absolutely no question but for the US veto in the UN, the UN would long ago have declared formal sanctions against Israel. European countries like Britain, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, would fall into line immediately, and Israel would lose its commercial markets, its military collaborations, its academic exchanges, and its access to Western technology.

    Therefore, anything which deteriorates US support for Israel is a serious threat to Israel. Organized Reform Judaism is a major lobbying force preventing the anti-Semite and anti-Zionist administration of Obama from leaning on Israel even more heavily. But, the Reform Judaism movement is absolutely hard-left in every way except for its support of Israel. Any conflict in which Israel can be made out to be the aggressor is extremely dangerous to Israel.

    The principle which Israel is maintaining is that it has the right and the duty to maintain control over the borders of Gaza and to prevent certain materials, such as concrete, from entering. The rationale for this, borne out by the facts on the ground, is that construction and engineering materials will be used for the construction of tunnels, arms, and rockets for offensive actions against Israel. So, the logic is almost circular. Hamas claims it attacks Israel because of the blockade, and Israel maintains the blockade so Hamas won’t build up its capabilities to attack Israel. The blockade could easily be broken simply by Hamas changing its charter to commit itself to peace, and by not attacking Israel for a few years to show it’s serious.

    The purpose of the flotillas is to maintain that commercial goods can go into Gaza without passing through Israeli or Egyptian inspection. If one ship lands at Gaza without inspection, it sets a precedence that Israel does not control the borders of Gaza.

    My suggestion would be that if a ship with Turkish military protection heads for Gaza, Israel insist on inspection by Egyptian or Israeli authorities for military items. If such inspection is refused, the ship should be allowed in, avoiding military confrontation with Turkey. Israel will then simply ignore that as a precedent, and continue to intercept all other ships.

    If Turkey sets up a pattern of military escorts for all ships headed for Gaza, however, it is an act of war that could not be ignored. But, such an action would surely give rise to doubts about integrating Turkey into Europe, even for the weak European governments.

    To sum up my arguments, Israel has much to gain by sophisticated maneuvering, rather than open use of military force. Ultimately, military force might be necessary, but represents the failure of more preferable courses of action.

      I really believe that the US will step in if Turkey is dumb enough to attack Israel. I know Canada will even is we aren’t a military power. The US despite Obama & Kerry will not allow this to happen.

        Obama is still commander and thief of te US military; even if their supine Congress authorizes a war with Turkey to assist Israel, the timing of the actual strikes (i.e: never) and preparations (i.e: eternal) will be up to him.

        Canada should beef up their military with all of the problems Calgary
        and Quebec are having with Muslim immigrants. They think that
        they rule Canadians because they are so lenient by giving in to their
        every demand. If they want a mosque they are given the land. If
        they want only halal food served in schools, etc. they get their
        way, and on, and on. One day Canadians are going to have to
        stand up to them and so are we in the USA.

      It’s simple, no Turkey in NATO, then unleash Isreali hunter killer subs on the Turkish Navy. Regarding Turkey’s large army …. I wouldn’t bundle them all together, remember the “turkey shoot” on the road to Baghdad from Kiwate? There is no reason to believe it would be any different for Turks.

      RE: “Israel would lose its commercial markets, its military collaborations, its academic exchanges, and its access to Western technology.”

      Israel doesn’t need any of that to survive. Israel is self-contained as far as commercial needs go, and it has a strong army.

      It also doesn’t need academic exchanges, since most of the best Western technology was invented in Israel anyway.

      Further, re: “The principle which Israel is maintaining is that it has the right and the duty to maintain control over the borders of Gaza and to prevent certain materials, such as concrete, from entering. The rationale for this, borne out by the facts on the ground, is that construction and engineering materials will be used for the construction of tunnels, arms, and rockets for offensive actions against Israel. So, the logic is almost circular. ”

      NO, the principle which Israel is maintaining that it has the right and duty to control the borders of Gaza is that the people there are sworn to destroy her.

      Any sane country (like with the Greeks and Turks in 1921) would have insisted Egypt re-patriate it’s Gazan, so-called “palestinian” citizenry long ago, and have already cleansed the area – what essentially amounts to being the Isreali beach-front – of all its sworn enemies. Same with the exiled Syrian Arabs in Judea and Hebron (aka ‘the west bank’ of the River Jordan) on the other side of the country.

        Israel’s sworn enemies are all Muslims — a fact that I fear even most Israelis (let alone the clueless Western mainstream (including millions of ordinary people, not just those Dastardly Elites) or the asymptotic wing of the Counter-Jihad) haven’t fully grasped.

        ……………………………..

        This was not a simple exchange of population in 1921, Uncle Vladdi. The Greeks did simply expel their Turkish population, but Turkey slaughtered many Christian Greeks in the last spasm of the Armenian Genocide.

        It wasn’t until British and American forces intervened—very much belatedly—that some of the refugees from the destruction of Smyrna were allowed to board ships for Greece.

        If Turkey had had their way, they all would have been butchered at the quay.

    The law is very clear on attempts to breach a blockade ! Vessels reasonably anticipate to be headed to breach a blockade are subject to stop, redirection & inspection. Failing to follow orders can result in attack just like Mavi.
    When a state does this it is an act of war against a sovereign state ! San Remo Manual 1994 HR Law regarding Naval conflict at sea(Int Waters) & Blockades .

    If Egypt itself has always assisted in blockading Gaza, where it’s own people live, why on earth would the Turks think they had any right to assist the terrorists by smuggling? Is there something going on back home in Turkey they want to distract their people from, by provoking an international war incident with Israel?!

    The Turkish military will have no interest in participating in this stupidity. It may even precipitate anotger coup if Erdogan pushes them to do it. Though Erdoga n locked up many generals and admirals he saw as threats in kangaroo trials there are plemty in in the Turkish military are not fans of him and his Islamo-populism…playing with fire for a constitutional democracy with aspirations to join the EU.

    Time for an Israeli humanitarian airlift to the Kurds.

    hmm, if this were to occur, it would be tantamount to a declaration of war.
    All these civilians lining up to try and break a military blockade are about as stupid as you can get.
