Beinart’s The Crisis of Zionism “is, as countless reviewers have already noted, an Israel-bashing-fest….Israel is blamed everywhere in this book, often thoughtlessly.” For his part, Reza Aslan never saw a genocidal hater of Israel he didn’t like: he is a Board member of a lobbying group for the bloodthirsty and genocidally antisemitic Iranian regime; tried to pass off Iran’s fanatically anti-Semitic former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as a liberal reformer; called on the U.S. Government to negotiate with Ahmadinejad himself, as well as with the jihad terror group Hamas; praised the jihad terror group Hizballah as “the most dynamic political and social organization in Lebanon”; and praised also the anti-Semitic, misogynist, Islamic supremacist Muslim Brotherhood.
This is CNN’s idea of a debate about Israel. The difference of opinion on Israel between Beinart and Aslan is about as large as the difference between how Hizballah and Hamas regard the Jewish state. But CNN doesn’t see fit to feature any actual pro-Israel voices. Why, if they did, people might get the idea that Hamas was something other than a “humanitarian organization“!
“CNN Has Two Israel Critics Debate Israel,” by Joel B. Pollak, Breitbart News, August 4, 2014:
With due respect to CNN’s Jake Tapper, who is one of the best and fairest journalists in the American media today, it was more than a bit odd to see him host a debate Monday evening between Israel critic Reza Aslan and Israel critic Peter Beinart, where Beinart was ostensibly there to represent the pro-Israel side of the argument.
Aslan said that Hamas would hope that the 72-hour ceasefire would lead to the end of the blockade of the Gaza Strip. (Of course it would. Hamas could also end that blockade itself, if it gave up trying to kill Israelis with materials imported from abroad.) Aslan also called for an international arms embargo against Israel (alone, of course) and celebrated what he claimed (falsely) was a decline of support for Israel among Americans.
As for Beinart, he continued his effort to use the war as a means to promote his diplomatic hobbyhorses, Beinart told Tapper that beyond the ceasefire, “I do think the underlying issues had to be addressed” and that Israelis “need to understand” Palestinian suffering–as if they do not. To his credit, Beinart` managed–just!–to oppose an arms embargo, but proposed that Israel release Palestinian murderer Marwan Barghouti.
Tapper has strained to maintain a sense of objectivity throughout this conflict, but has unfortunately tended at times to confuse the issue–for example noting the “lopsided” casualty numbers, as if mere numbers were at stake. Sadly, he lack of a voice representing the pro-Israel mainstream was acute in Monday’s discussion.

I generally avoid the Caliphate Network News, although Wolfe Blitzer’s interview with the blood-libeling Hamasnik was good.
The people working for CNN are graduates of university programs where they were indoctrinated by professors who believe in moral relativism and multiculturalism, so that if you can’t be sympathetic to Hamas, you are a racist.
The quality of the overall media presentation on the war with Hamas, and the level of the debate about it, has been a total disgrace, all the way up to the State Department and White House. Hamas deserves no credibility, and the main object of the discussion should be about how to defeat it, not appease it. Instead, the world’s media and governments, with some exceptions, have fallen for every predictably false cliché about deliberate Israeli assaults on civilians, and this despite all the videos belying that nonsense. In any case, the Hamas rockets speak for themselves.
The fact that these two clowns are accorded TV time, underlines the sad truth of Robert’s claim that being politically correct trumps all.

It seems that CNN is trying to be more like MSNBC to improve their ratings, and become a propaganda outlet for the disease of liberalism. It’s best to rely on Fox News and various news groups on the Internet, like Jihad Watch and Townhall.com

I am a liberal and I do not hate Israel. On the contrary, I admire its democracy, resilience and inclusiveness; after all so many of its citizens are Arab Muslims. I think that Jihad Watch is the only blog that produces good reports on the ongoing saga of Islamic debauchery. This is important. We need a Liberal world – a world where there is democracy in ethics, the legal system as well as the financial system and science prevails over any and all religious beliefs. This is very much unlike the ravings of Fox and the Republican party who are totally beholden to the rich few and the rabid dogs of Christianity. I have not seen Townhall, but Fox certainly is stupid, backward and totally out to lunch.
Mr. Stephen L Tecot says
Mulakush, either you do not watch FOX or you are so biased, that your judgement is nonexistent.

It’s like having two Nazis debate about Jews.
Reza Aslan is the guy who tried to convince his readers that Jesus was a violent jihadist trying to liberate the promised land, just like Hamas:

World’s most horrific lie: Muslims are Palestinians. This name was robbed from Jews after 2,000 years to make Israel forever illegally occupying Israel. Shame on a Pope for condoning this genocidal, historical & biblical lie.

Hi But,
Good point. My Father held a “Palestinian” passport before 1948. At that time, the Jews were called Palestinians.
Maybe we can grab that ground again to sow some confusion among the “chattering classes”.
Cheers

Hmmm..confronting liberal/leftist hate and discontent mongers, is a lot like wrestling with the Devil. Some of these people are just plain evil and wish destruction on Israel and Jews. They support the savage because they themselves are savages. I have engaged numbers of these cretins in intellectual battle, and they always lose. That’s because only losers support the savage.

If I did not know anything about this issue and ONLY relied upon the network media I could only decide that….Palestine was under attack from a militarily superior force(Israel) who were concentrating their forces upon kids and civilians for no particular reason except because they could, apparently. And that Israel was systematically destroying Palestinian infrastructure, suburb by suburb and that Israel was deliberately targeting schools, UN designated safe zones with no regard for non combatants. What I would NOT be aware of from the network media is, that Israel had been under attack from rockets and mortars fired from Gaza for several days before Israel responded and that the overture to this was the kidnapping and subsequent murder of three Israeli teenagers, probably by some Palestinian operatives whom still remain unknown. I would also have formed the opinion that there was world wide condemnation of Israel for what seem to be war crimes and that there is world wide support for Palestine via demonstrations etc. The overwhelming greater percentage of media time concentrates on images of kids rushed to gaza hospitals and people picking through gaza rubble etc etc. It’s all about Gaza and it’s happening in some kind of moral vacuum. Shame upon the media SHAME!
el-cid says
That is a fair synopsis of what believe who have no knowledge of the situation or the history.

Around 1944 if we had today’s media:
Germany is under attack from a militarily superior force(USA) who is concentrating their forces upon kids and civilians for no particular reason except because they could, apparently. And USA is systematically destroying German infrastructure, suburb by suburb and USA is deliberately targeting schools, designated safe zones with no regard for non combatants. The overwhelming greater percentage of media time would have concentrated on images of kids rushed to German hospitals and people picking through German cities’ rubble etc etc.

I was watching CNN last night & some religiously motivated and genocidal aspects of the Hamas Charter was read, in response the host just grimaced and said, “So they have to change that”. It’s just absolutely amazing, they expect the Jews to just live with that, for no other reason than it’s inconvenient for Israel to defend itself. What they need to realize is the only difference between Hamas and ISIS is Hamas used the democratic process, and got elected by the people of Gaza. Ideologically they are the same. Seems like the intelligencia are soooo tantalizingly close to getting it, that these Islamic groups and the populace which supports them can’t be reasoned with.
el-cid says
let us remember that Hitler used the same tactic. As Erdogan said, democracy is an escalator where you get off at your stop.

OT Hurrah !! The unelected minister for faiths, Baroness Warsi, has resigned from David Cameron’s cabinet over his stance on Gaza.
Good riddance.
Myxlplik says
Funny she didn’t resign over his do nothing stance on Boko Haram, “God says I should sell” Christian women as sex slaves, or arming ISIS in Syria.
Why all of a sudden the indignation at serving in government? Perhaps, as long as it’s Muslim on Muslim violence or Muslims slaughtering non-Muslims it’s okay with her?
Interesting.

“Brian Hoff”—really, “DefenderofIslam”—wrote:

………………………………
Notice that “DefenderofIslam” doesn’t concern himself over whether “Baroness” Warsi would want to marry *him*.
And why should he? In Islam, the desires of the women are not taken into account.
I’m sure “DefederofIslam” can’t wait until—as he no doubt fantasizes—the time when it will be perfectly legal under Shari’ah for him to kidnap Christian girls in Texas to “marry” or add to his harem.
And he is supposed to be condemning racists, but he seems to be obsessed with whether or not Warsi is “white”—very disturbing.
Also, it was not a “racist” who made the comment—Warsi *herself* said, “‘I’m a woman, I’m not white, I’m from an urban area, I’m from the North, I’m working class”.
Of course, this is all irrelevant—the main thing is that she is Muslim, and with her agenda of stealth Jihad and ceaselessly pushing Shari’ah in Britain, the furtherance of supremacist Islam is her main goal.
