Jihad Watch

Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

HuffPo stands strong for Hamas and Islamic State, bashes AFDI rally for their victims

Aug 18, 2014 2:45 pm By Robert Spencer

CrowdAFDI081814The Huffington Post does not deign to mention the point of the rally, which was to support Israel and persecuted religious minorities. It doesn’t say anything about how this was the first rally of its kind: the first to bring together the disparate victims of jihad terror and Islamic supremacism, presenting a common front in defense of freedom. The only conclusion that can be drawn is that the Huffington Post does not want such a coalition to be formed, and does not want resistance against jihad terror to solidify. In that the HuffPo is typical of the mainstream media today. Who has bought them, and how do they sleep?

“Huffington Post pimps for Islamic State and Hamas, defames their victims,” by Pamela Geller, August 18, 2014:

This sums up what we’re up against. It best illustrates the war in the information battlespace. Who is the Huffington Post working for — the Islamic State? Clearly, they’d like to see my severed head on a pole.

Look at this report. Where is the coverage of the Yazidi speaker? The Kurd leader? The Hindu activist? Thousands are being slaughtered, and this troll is making fun of the international human rights hero, Simon Deng, a former Sudanese slave? Imagine recording three hours just to try and capture a wrong word or a flubbed line or a forgotten name. What’s funny is that Simon had rattled off a cascade of complicated names of numerous Islamic terrorist organizations, but that didn’t matter. When he momentarily forgot the Islamic State, Paul Vale pounced, like the vulture he is. And I love how he put “minorities persecuted under Islamic rule” in quotation marks, as if I made up the fact that there are religious minorities in Muslim countries, and that they’re being violently persecuted. Shame on them.

The whole point of the Huffington Post covering this rally was to mock, smear, and destroy anyone associated with this issue. This is not coverage, this is Islamic propaganda.

Their article is particularly targeting young people. What young person would want to be associated with this kind of coverage? It included nothing about the testimony from these unsung heroes. And the number of attendees is, typically, drastically low. They did the same thing with our Ground Zero Mosque rally as well — we had 30,000, and Keith Olbermann said we had 500. So if Paul Vale says we had 150 yesterday, which is refuted by the pictures I posted here, then you can be sure we had 5,000.

Notice also how he makes no mention of the sponsoring organization, the American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) — instead, it’s “banned Geller,” “anti-Muslim Geller.” So opposing the oppression and genocide against the Yazidis and others is “anti-Muslim”? And apparently Paul Vale and the Huffington Post are on the side of the slaughterers.

As for the headline, pointing out that I am banned in the UK, that is a moment of shame not for me, but for Britain. Any liberal, thinking, freedom-loving human being knows how wrong it is to ban a human rights activist who stands for freedom and individual rights against oppression and subjugation. Instead of blaring it in a headline, they should be hanging their heads in shame. That’s a black mark against them, not me.

Videos of this historic event are being uploaded to YouTube today. Watch it and decide for yourself.

Getting your news from vicious trolls like Paul Vale is hazardous to your freedom.

Imagine: this is a big story on Huffington Post UK. They came across the world to mock and ridicule those who stood for freedom. And the American press wouldn’t even cover it. Which is worse? Who is more culpable?

“Pamela Geller, ‘Anti-Muslim Hate Group’ Leader Banned From UK, Holds Pro-Israel Rally In NY,” by Paul Vale, Huffington Post, August 18, 2014:

NEW YORK — On Sunday the American Freedom Defence Initiative (AFDI), an organisation the Southern Poverty Law Centre has listed as an anti-Muslim hate group, held a demonstration in New York’s Union Square in support of Israel and “minorities persecuted under Islamic rule”.

The group’s leader is Pamela Geller, an activist who in 2013 was banned from entering the UK by Home Secretary Theresa May. The government restricted Geller, along with author and blogger Robert Spencer, from entering the country as it was concluded their presence in the would not be “conducive to the public good”. The pair had planned to attend a rally in Woolwich following the death of Drummer Lee Rigby.

Here’s Geller on Sunday…

afdi

…along with Robert Spencer.

afdi

There were around 150 people at the event.

afdi

Many had come with homemade placards.

afdi

afdi

afdi

“The media” took a bit of a kicking…

afdi

afdi

afdi

afdi

As did Obama…

afdi

…despite being the only Western leader to authorise air strikes against militants in Iraq.

afdi

This woman sought divine inspiration for her sign…

afdi

…and received it.

afdi

…whereas this chap just went to Home Depot.

afdi

This guy forgot the name of ISIS.

While this entrepreneurial chap had a bag full of Israeli flags…

afdi

…which he was peddling for $10.

afdi

Then there was this piece of couture.

afdi

And this Panama hat.

afdi

And the Horn of Helm Hammerhand.

“Flags, flags, flags, flags…”

afdi

Half of Chas and Dave turned up.

afdi

As did a man dressed as the late Bob Crow.

afdi

The rendition of Israel’s national anthem was sensational.

afdi

But there were inevitable confrontations with passers-by…

afdi

…with one woman taking exception to all Muslims being branded terrorists.

afdi

“…Try and kill me, bitch.”

afdi

Then there was this tense beard-off.

afdi

…while this chap looked on.

afdi

And finally a sale!

The Muslim who gave up his life for Mosul’s Christians

      Christians leave Mosul(©Afp)
      (©AFP) CHRISTIANS LEAVE MOSUL
Chaldean website ankawa.com says a university professor was killed after speaking out against anti-Christian persecution. Meanwhile, the Islamic State has set the jizyah at 450 dollars

      GIORGIO BERNARDELLI
He refused to keep silent about the violence agaist Mosul’s Christians who are forced to choose between converting to the Muslim faith, paying the jizyah (the Islamic tax for non-Muslims) or fleeing. Professor Mahmoud Al ‘Asali, a law professor who lectures on pedagogy at the University of Mosul, had the courage to make a stand against this brutal duress which he believes go against the Muslim commandments. But he paid for this gesture with his life: he was killed by ISIS militants in Mosul yesterday.

Chaldean website ankawa.com – one of the news sources that offers the promptest updates on the inferno Christians are experiencing in Iraq – announced the news. Amidst the ocean of tragedies currently being witnessed in the Middle Eastern country, the website did not want to let this act of great courage go unnoticed. Professor Ali ‘Asali knew what he was risking: everyone in Mosul knows that in Raqqa – the Syrian city which the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant seized last year –there are many human rights activists who have paid for their opposition to ISIS’ acts of intolerance with their own lives. But Al ‘Asali was nevertheless unable to stand by in silence.

And so are many other Muslims, who have launched the “I am Iraqi, I am Christian” campaign in response to the letter N’s written on the walls of Christian homes in Mosul. Yesterday some of them turned up outside the Chaldean Church of St. George in Baghdad, with a banner displaying the slogan and posted a picture on Facebook.

But these acts of rebellion have not been successful in stopping the madness of Islamic State fundamentalists. And so today, the ethnic cleansing continued, with the jizyah – the Islamic “protection” tax which all non-Muslims are required to pay if they wish to stay or return to Mosul – being applied. The monthly figure to be paid is 450 dollars, which is an impossible sum for anyone living in Northern Iraq to pay. Today, yet another historic Christian location fell intot he hands of the Islamic State: the building in question is the Syro-Catholic monastery of Mar Benham, close to Qaraqosh, the Christian city in the Nineveh Plain where the majority of Christians have fled to. Monks have been present in mar Benham since the 4th century approximately. “They forced the three monks and some families residing in the monastery to go away and leave the keys behind,” the Syro-catholic bishop of Mosul, Yohanna Petros Moshe told Fides news agency. The Bagdadhope blog reported that the monastery underwent restoration work in 1986 and became a pilgrimage destination for Christians and some Muslims too.

Kudos to Professor Ali ‘Asali and any other Muslims who may have had the decency to stand up for innocent victims—even though it opposes the vicious diktats of their own faith.

But these decent Muslims are few and far between, I’m afraid—far more common are Muslims who have turned on their Christian and Yazidi neighbors:

On the subject of Hamas. The Islamic terror entity has now gotten more funds and supplies of deadly weapon for its murderous jihad against the State of Israel and its citizens. Now more then even sine just last month Obama had lifted even more sanctions on that heinous Islamic regime than had bee lifted in it before. Thanks to Obama Hamas has gotten a more supplies in it jihad of death then it had before. It should be added Iran did nothing to earn or deserve to have more sanctions lifted. Obama just lifted the sanctions anyway. Shame on him ! Furthermore, On the topic of Israel, Hamas and Iran the book IRAN AND ISRAEL by Mark Hitchock it gives some information on page 82. For it reads ” ‘Hamas’ is an Arabic acronym for Islamic Resistance Movement, and it means ‘zeal.’ Since its inception Hamas has been committed to destroying the Jewish State and replacing it with an Islamic state…”
Many Muslims might feel at heart that this sounds like a good idea. That only shows just how Islam can warp and mind and soul of a person.

To give only one of the many great polices of folly and madness of Obama concerning the Islamic world. Just in the year of 2011 alone Obama has sent to a Hamas three million in funds and supplies out of the America taxpayer pockets[1] This was done in spite of Hamas being designated by the US State department as a terrorist group.Just look what hams did with the supplies it got instead of using the concrete for the building of homes and schools for the Arabs living in Gaza Hamas uses it to make terror tunnels for committing murders in the jihad for their Islamic cause. Hamas even ,many times over use people who are civilians as as human shields. Moreover, Hamas is not only responsible for the death of many Arabs and Israelis by Hamas in its history has murdered seventeen Americans and wounded over one hundred more.

The Huffington Post (Hissy-fit Post?) has achieved something with Islam. It’s this: It has become its own caricature. I mean if you wanted to caricaturize a left-wing rag, it’s already ready-made for you with HuffPo, just as if you wanted to caricaturize a religion, it’s there already waiting for you, again ready-made, with Islam. The Onion is not needed here with either.

This is no mean feat to become one’s own caricature but HuffPo and Islam have managed it. Fitting since they’re made for each other in so many ways, not least of all with a significant disregard for the truth closely followed by an inability to allow for opinions which differ from their own. Oh yeah, they’re buddies.

For readers not part of this immature pettifogging commenter club, here’s a serious counterjihad report that won’t waste your time: http://counterjihadreport.com/. I’m sorry the airing of different opinions offends you. I can strongly sympathize with you: you have the truth, and any other opinion or argumentation is mere bickering.

And, I do so appreciate your public service. Imagine being able to see the articles at Jihad Watch without having to wade through all the comments. I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have your blog to relieve me of the necessity of reading the comments here. I guess, as a poor alternative, I’d just have to…well, not read the comments. It’s an extreme solution, I know, and your provision of the articles without the comments is so much easier and less trouble. Unless, of course, I happen to like the different points of view that the comments provide.

But, appreciating different points of view is for small minds. Some of us, like you, have achieved the truth already, and don’t need to waste our time.

I suspect the media has been corrupted, perhaps through bribes. If I were a journalist and someone offered me a large sum of money, would I slant all my write-ups to favor a point of view?
I think upon this and it is, sadly, not an easy call to make. The first response my mind has is “How much money are we talking about?”.
So maybe it is with many journalists today.
    What would you do?

    • gravenimage says

The ridiculous slant of so much of the MSM—especially but not exclusively left-leaning rags like the HuffPo—has a lot more to do with “political correctness” and denial than it does with “bribes”.

Out and out Muslim ownership of media outlets *is* a grave concern, because employees can wind up self-censoring—but even this is, at least for now, fairly rare.

And if people are apt to think that journalists are being corrupted by Jihadists offering big bags of money if they toe the line, they are way off base.

The truth is both better—and worse—than that.

Most hard-Leftist “journalists” like those at the HuffPo believe that they are morally superior to the “Islamophobes” who actually oppose the evil of Jihad. After all, opposing Jihad is so very tawdry! sarc/off

How can these dhimmi tools live with themselves?

The Huffington Post has actually—to their credit—run stories like “15 Shocking Numbers That Will Make You Pay Attention To What ISIS Is Doing In Iraq”—but they savage anyone who actually *is* paying attention to what Jihadists are doing.

Like so many in the West, they are completely schizophrenic about this…

    More:

Look at this report. Where is the coverage of the Yazidi speaker? The Kurd leader? The Hindu activist? Thousands are being slaughtered, and this troll is making fun of the international human rights hero, Simon Deng, a former Sudanese slave?

    More:

Imagine recording three hours just to try and capture a wrong word or a flubbed line or a forgotten name…
    …………………………………

We don’t have to imagine it. There are several trolls—Muslim apologists—who lurk at Jihad Watch waiting for the slightest typo in either the main article or even in the comments thread, hoping that any slight error—real or imagined—can be implied to discredit the entire opposition to bloody Jihad.

Not that they get much traction—stories are carefully vetted here—but in any case they consistently ignore whatever horrific story is being covered.

Sad that this is true of the Huffington Post, as well…

    More:

What’s funny is that Simon had rattled off a cascade of complicated names of numerous Islamic terrorist organizations, but that didn’t matter. When he momentarily forgot the Islamic State, Paul Vale pounced, like the vulture he is.

Ludicrous—especially since this entity has gone by a plethora of names, including ISIS, ISIL, IS, the Caliphate, and the Islamic State—sometimes interchangeably—in just the past few weeks.

    …………………………………

This is just bizarre—since they have also recently run these stories: “Yazidi Religious Beliefs: History, Facts, And Traditions Of Iraq’s Persecuted Minority” and “Islamic State’s Persecution Of Christians Is A ‘Crime Against Humanity'”.

They just don’t want to hear this from committed Anti-Jihadists.

    …………………………………

“Death”—you’d think the poor man died of a heart attack or in a car accident, rather than being beheaded in the street by Jihadists.

And they don’t mention *why* the presence of brave Anti-Jihadists might be not be “conducive to the public good”—not because any of their own supporters might be violent, but because *Jihadists* might be.

As if the problem will go away by being ignored. Were that true, Lee Rigby would be alive today.

And the Huffington Post is taking the same general tack as is the British government—and it won’t work any better for them.

As for Paul Vale, here he is, claiming that opposing Jihad is just as bad as waging it:

“The Twin Threats of the EDL and ‘Individualized Jihad'”

    http://paulvale.org/2013/05/26/the-twin-threats-of-the-edl-and-individualised-jihad/

And here’s more snarkiness, from his Twitter feed:

    https://twitter.com/PaulVale

“Pamela Geller in Union Square. Drink two fingers everytime you hear “global jihad”…”

Notice, he never actually says that there *isn’t* a global Jihad—why bother, when he can just sneer?

In a previous Tweet, he also sneers at the idea that Jihadists might be taking advantage of our porous southern border. What a cowardly prat…

    Fiqh al-Matter,

I have read several links on Yazidis since last posting. I have yet to read Yazidis revere Muhammad as a “perfect man”, read the Quran, ahadith, or follow sharia law. There is a famous Yazidi honor killing, one.

The only thing which truly sounds like Islam is praying five times a day, probably the least offensive of any Islamic practice. I suspect that back in the mists of time that may have evolved as a sort of Yazidi kitman to blend in with Muslims as a survival mechanism.

There is no, I repeat no, linkage to Islam I can find other than some westerners claiming one exists. Even though some claim Yazidis accept Mohammed as a “prophet” it does not appear to form any significant part of their religion. The Yazidis adapt somewhat to their surrounding religions which may cause you unease, but they are in no way significantly Muslim.

If they were comfortable with Islam they’ve had 1400 years to convert and countless persecutions by Muslims as an incentive. The Ottomans were horrendous to the Yazidis.

      Anyway, here’s the link again:

Remember the Yezidi woman who said,
“We are being butchered under the banner of no god but Allah” and made all those Muslim politicians squirm in Islamic shame.

So this is where you want to focus your energy in silencing that voice.
You are way too soft on Islam.

Above, one of our sneering mohammedan apologists essentially issued a threat, implying that if emigre Copts and Assyrian Christians or members of other non-Muslim groups that are mostly still trapped within the dar al Islam, have the temerity to stand up and publicly express support for the Jewish self-defence against Jihad, then their coreligionists in the dar al Islam will be attacked by Muslims. Nasty. Vicious. Vile. Typical mohammedan mindset: playing the hostage game.

Further observation: when reading the postings of mohammedan apologists at this forum, one must always bear in mind that the *last* thing mohammedans want is for **all** the different varieties of non-Muslim who are being and have been assaulted by jihad to wake up, recognise that the Mohammedan Mob is their *common* – and permanent – enemy, and combine to *resist the bloody jihad*.

Well, in this age of the internet, the different varieties of non-Muslim *are* figuring things out…and we are getting together, at the grassroots, at this forum and in many others, swapping histories and comparing notes about our many, many contemporary and historic negative experiences of Muslims. I see ordinary non-Muslim Indians posting all the time at Israeli news websites, and they are fully supportive of Israel’s self-defence against bloody jihad, because they *get* the parallel between Israel’s and their experience.

Therefore, one should expect many mohammedan postings at this forum to involve covert or overt attempts to turn different groups of non-Muslims against each other, or to keep them fighting if they are already (sadly) at odds.

It is so slow that one almost doesn’t notice. But without pause, the veneer of civilization is falling away from the face of evil. And we start seeing shocking, breathtaking expressions of malice.

    Mocking Simon Deng ? ! ? ! ? !

Mocking an ex-slave who speaks out for his still enslaved, innocent and suffering fellows — this is a shockingly grotesque obscenity.

Fashionably dressed, ostensibly educated and seemingly normal, seemingly respectable people spewing raw evil. It is like something out of the movie “The Exorcist”.

Let no one ask how the mass atrocities of the past happened. The Hitlers, the Terror of the French revolution, human sacrifice, the lot. We’re watching it in real time — right now.

It’s still young, the monster, but we can already make out the claws and fangs to come.

Judging by photos from both Huff Po and Pam Geller there was no more than a couple of hundred people in attendance. There was no way there was 5000 people. Also looking at the videos that are already up.

Notice that the photos that Geller presents are rather dark

Also when she finally puts up any videos, I am betting that there will not be any scans of the public.

The turn out was rather disgraceful

    There was no 5000 there

Notice—as usual—that Semeru has *no* criticism for either the savagery of Islam or of its dhimmi enabling.

And why should he? His only agenda is to try to minimize and smear the *opposition* to this savagery. Disgusting.

The UK bans people who tell the truth and allows anti-semitic hate mongers like Davic Icke free reign. He is going to spread his venom at Wembley in October, and so many will willingly listen. But, of course, the UK receives a lot, and I mean a LOT of Arab money. The whole thing is sickening and appalling. the already crazy world has gone insane, and this insanity is being backed, seemingly, by all the powers that be. This cannot be an accident.
