Here is the full interview. Some have suggested that this is satire, and that the person being interviewed is not actually Omar al-Shishani. That may be, but if so, the satirist has a comprehensive knowledge of the Islamic State’s beliefs, motives and goals — a better knowledge, in fact, than that of most Western intelligence officials.
“Terror boss welcomes US air strikes,” AAP, August 11, 2014 (thanks to Marc):
Western air strikes against terrorist organisation Islamic State will drive more people to fight for it, the group’s alleged military leader says.
Omar al-Shishani also praised Sydney man Khaled Sharrouf, a convicted terrorist wanted by Australian police for crimes in Syria and Iraq.
“He’s a very loveable, good kid,” al-Shishani told Fairfax radio station 3AW in an interview from Iraq.
The US on Friday began a campaign of air strikes aimed at halting the advance of militants from Islamic State (also known as ISIL or ISIS).
Al-Shishani said the intervention of Western troops had motivated his fighters and brought more Muslims to join their cause.
Already there were up to 3000 Westerners in Islamic State’s ranks and more came from Europe every day.
He said they wanted the American “cry babies” to come.
“We want them to cry a little bit for their salary, cry a little bit for benefits and then come here and miss the wifey and the doggy and stuff while we slaughter them,” al-Shishani said.
Islamic State proclaimed a “caliphate” straddling Syria and Iraq in late June.
Their jihad would continue until the whole world was under the rule of Allah, al-Shishani said.
Asked if this included Australia, he said: “If we can swim there, if we can catch any of your boats … we will come to Australia.”
Kepha says
Frankly, Omar Chechen’s red bear isn’t worth the bones of a single US soldier. Give ’em time, and one of his own followers will probably assassinate him.
Kepha says
Oops. beard, not bear. Please pardon the insult to an interesting animal.
Beagle says
Hand it to the IS, they know how to use our useful idiots against us. Think about it. No matter how you feel about martyrdom and paradise of virgins under the shade of swords, who really wants to go into an area facing sudden death from above without warning?
Air strikes don’t cause more people to join the jihad nearly as much as the snuff porn the IS has been releasing on social media. Killing Shia and Yazidis appeals to a large subset of Sunni Muslims. Sex slavery sells jihad as well.
Mighty fine folks we’re dealing with. Presumably that needs no sarc tag.
John C. Barile says
A relentless aerial bombing campaign is demoralizing and he knows it, yet he thinks his Fifth Column and fellow travelers in the West can always be counted on to rob us of our will to sustain it.
Angemon says
Western intelligence officials know the IS’s beliefs, motives and goals better than the members of IS themselves. Sure, IS may be framing its behaviour in islamic orthodoxy, and it may be attracting attracting members because it frames its actions in islamic orthodoxy, but western intelligence officials know better: clearly it’s because of poverty and global warming, so things should calm down now that they raided millions of dollars from banks in Mosul and can afford sun-blockers, window tint and cool drinks. Nope, shouldn’t take too long until they engage in democratic elections and draft a constitution defending freedom of speech, freedom of religion and equality of all before the law.
Ashley says
“Their jihad would continue until the whole world was under the rule of Allah, al-Shishani said.”

That line alone convinces me that the interview is authentic and no satire is at play…
Tommy Guns says
This may not be a satire, but it’s still funny. Very ambitious words from a baboon with a rifle, followed by a bunch of Neanderthals. Can you imagine these bumbling fools trying to establish a caliphate????? That’s funny.
GP says
We pray that many of these vile evil savages in Iraq, Syria, and elsewhere will be caught aware and in an instant see an abrupt end to their violent muderous jihad. Perhaps even on this very day, inshallah.
Richie says
Don’t send in ground troops- bomb them from the air
Tommy Guns says
Yes, a mushroom cloud over northern Iraq does have a certain appeal.
Tom Salagaj says
The thing is, what kind of life do these “people” have? Killing, raping, destroying? Don’t they have any fun at all? But then when a person, a people, a movement, a nation, etc., is completely under the slavery of Satan, what else could be expected?
Judi says
Tom – killing, raping, beheadings – that IS their idea of fun!!
Mazo says
Abu Omar’s real name is Tarkhan Batirashvili and his father is a Christian Georgian while his mother is a Kist (Kists are Chechens from Pankisi gorge in Georgia).

Wtf? says
Wouldn’t he like a regular pay , benefits , a wifey who isn’t a close relative and a doggy for those lonely nights? Give me a break. Ignorance reigns supreme within IS. Can’t wait to see the educational level of the first graduates of IS University. Hahaha
Mazo says
Georgians and Chechens do not allow cousin marriage in their cultures at all. Abu Omar al Shishani is half Georgian half Kist (Chechen). Even when they live in Arab countries, Chechens and Circassians still don’t adopt Arab customs like marrying their cousins. There is a Chechen and Circassian diaspora in the Middle East since the 19th century.
TahariRider says
Listen to what the speaker is tell you. It’s as if the Islamic State is echoing a phrase familiar to our elders that lived through WWII, saying “Today Baghdad, tomorrow the world” This interviewee may seem a bit too articulate and the audio quality a bit too clean, but make no mistake, the speaker is accurate in reflecting the ideals of radical Islam and the Islamic State.
History is thrusting a new generation of Nazis into our face and we’re in complete denial.
Americans, we are the land of the free and the home of the brave. We’re the last bulwark of liberty. Our love of peace must not take precedence over our duty to defend what’s right. We can’t shirk our responsibility. It’s up to us to stop the Islamic State.
The Islamic State is an emerging regime that is as evil as any in history. Their belief system encourages its followers to rape our wives and enslave our children; your family is only safe because you’re far away. They must be stopped. Now.
What do we stand for, if not for the destruction of evil?
We watch Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report and chuckle at the witty satire on our own government’s inaction and ineffectiveness. We think ourselves above it all, safe in our technological paradise on the other side of the world. The stories of the massacre of ancient cities of Christians and Yazidis get equal time with the deaths of a comedian or race car driver. And while we ignore the Islamic State, it grows.
It grows quickly and with purpose. It acquires strategic resources: banks, ammo depots, a vital dam. Small cities are soft targets that it gobbles up almost without a fight. Now it is getting close to Baghdad.
And still the sword of Liberty sleeps.
If that interview is a satire, it’s not making fun of the speaker. Instead it’s pointing out the foolishness of the West in ignoring a political movement that says “We’re coming and we’ll kill all of you. Submit or die”
Darryl says
Very well put.
Sam says
Agreed. You can fight thousands of them there or wait and fight hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of them when they arrive at your doorstep.
Ed Gibson says
There are many people who are awake and trying to get the truth out there. They just don’t watch John Stewart. He is a joke like most of those who watch him to acquire real information about the world.
Geppetto says
Here’s a one word solution and strategy to deal with these savages. Anhilatiion. You can fill in the blanks.
Juanita says
Kick all the Jihads out of America!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! come on wake up before it’s too late!!
GP says
The problem in not only ISIS or ISIL, the problem is IS LAM.
Wake up and smell the peace!
BC says
Shisani obviously is not familiar with recent history. He should remember the Mother of all Battles promised by Saddam Hussein.
