Islamic State operatives seem to love to stand in front of landmarks worldwide and get a picture of the Islamic flag in front of the landmark. That’s harmless enough — at least until the bombs start going off.
“ISIS on the Temple Mount,” Jewish Press, August 24, 2014 (thanks to Jerk Chicken):
While Jews can’t pray on our holiest site, and police make sure no Israeli flags are taken up, Muslims have no problem bringing in and waving an ISIS flag on the Temple Mount.
Maybe we’ll allow them to run executions there too, while we’re at it.
Kepha says
It’s my understanding that Israel’s policies of keeping Jews off Temple Mount has nothing to do with cowardice, and everything to do with points of orthodox Jewish belief. I was once told by an acquaintance in skullcap and beard that without knowing where, exactly, the Holy of Holies was, a Jew going onto Temple Mount might inadvertently tread on it, in violation of Torah. The Temple will not be rebuilt until M’shiach comes; but until then, stay away from the site.
This, incidentally, is why I am very, very, very skeptical of reports from some of my own religious brethren that there are plans afoot now for a Third Temple.
I understand that R. Abraham Isaac Kook might have disagreed with such an understanding, but I also understand that his was not the view that prevailed with the Israeli government. For the record, I do not believe that the Israeli government is necessarily cowardly, but has a peculiar mix of popular attitudes, traditions, and whatnot with which it must deal in the here and now. I also suspect that ISIS-Boy in the pic will probably deeply regret that he ever got anywhere near the IDF when his movement provokes a real confrontation and push really comes to shove.
Frankly, I believe that Islam is blasphemy and M’shaich arrived 2000 years ago, doing away with the need for a place for animal sacrifice (the atonement he offered is of infinite worth and efficacy); and hence it is no accident or mere coincidence that the generation that heard M’shiach and witnessed his first coming also witnessed the end of the Mosaic sacrificial system, of which Solomon’s and the Second Temple were part. I pray that all would come to confess that; but I also know that God gives His answers in His own time.

For what it’s worth, I am of the same opinion and belief that Christ came and the need for animal sacrifice is over. As I understand it, all records of lineage were destroyed by the Roman armies, so no one can actually say from what tribe a man is. Lineage was absolutely necessary for priests to prepare and offer the sacrifices. But since Jesus Christ (Messiah, Anointed One) gave his perfect life, no other killing is necessary.
The Day (God has set in order to judge the inhabited earth) will come and then all who blaspheme will be called to account.

Yes.
Kepha says
There’s a far more important temple where Antichrist’s seat is far more dangerous: the one built of living stones, of which Paul and Peter both speak in the New Testament. We are constantly warned about false teachers, false prophets, and the like worming their way into the church, and that is how I understand Antichrist ultimately finding his way into the Temple of God–not Da Beast sitting down in a rebuilt Solomonic Temple in Jerusalem.
I’ll respect and honor the site of Solomon’s Temple for what it was in the economy of salvation; but do not believe that it is necessary for it to be rebuilt on its original site for prophecy to be true.

Amen. Christ is our priest, our temple, and our sacrifice.

First I’ve heard of this matter of avoiding Holy of Holies. Thank you for that.
However, what if Muslims step on it as they have free passage all over the temple Mount?
Jay Boo says
Muslims — love to display their self-control to impress others of their faith.
Muslims — love to do their choreographed prayer displays.
However, when their Islamic vanity fix wears off they always come back to the same place of withdrawal into Islam’s emptiness.
At this point, Muslims begin to grasp and become dangerous.
Uncouth Islam always ends with once self-controlled Muslims showing their ass.
Decorum substituted for faith done for Islamic display always descends into a every Muslims shameless disgrace.
Always
