Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

John Kerry: Islamic State is “an ugly insult to the peaceful religion they violate every day with their barbarity”

Aug 20, 2014 3:25 pm By Robert Spencer

john-kerry-The imam Kerry did not explain how the Islamic State is violating the Religion of Peace. He is just sure that they must be doing so. The possibility that they might be acting in accord with the Qur’an never enters his mind, even to be rejected. Even to consider such a possibility would be “Islamophobic.” But what do you expect? This is a man who learned about Islam from a Board member of a lobbying group for the Islamic Republic of Iran, Reza Aslan.

“John Kerry: ISIS ‘Must Be Destroyed,'” by Marina Koren, National Journal, August 20, 2014:

Secretary of State John Kerry vehemently condemned the Islamist militant group responsible for American journalist James Foley’s death.

“The world must know that the United States of America will never back down in the face of such evil,” he said in a lengthy statement, released Wednesday afternoon after President Obama delivered remarks about Foley. “ISIL and the wickedness it represents must be destroyed, and those responsible for this heinous, vicious atrocity will be held accountable.”

Here’s the statement in full:

James Foley went to the darkest of places to shine the light of truth. Nothing could stop him from sharing with the world the reality of what was happening on the front lines in Iraq and Afghanistan, or the struggle against a brutal dictator in Libya, and he was just as determined to do the same from Syria. He was brave and bold, and no masked coward can ever steal the legacy of this courageous American who lived out the meaning of the word journalism.

I was a senator when James was first held in Libya, and we were first introduced to the Foley family. His family was as determined in working towards his release as James had been daring in covering those war zones himself. The sheer unfairness and unlikely odds that this young journalist would again find himself in captivity in another conflict was almost unimaginable. It is impossible to express how much we all wanted this latest horror to end with his family reunited, as it had been the first time.

Teresa and I, along with members of my family who got to know James’ mother Diane and his brother, are heartbroken for all of the Foleys. There are no words of condolence that can adequately convey our sorrow, our sympathy, or our anger for what has happened.

There is evil in this world, and we all have come face to face with it once again. Ugly, savage, inexplicable, nihilistic, and valueless evil. ISIL is the face of that evil, a threat to people who want to live in peace, and an ugly insult to the peaceful religion they violate every day with their barbarity.

We grieve for James Foley. We mourn for his family and his loved ones. We honor the courage and pray for the safety of all those who risk their lives to discover the truth where it is needed most. And make no mistake: We will continue to confront ISIL wherever it tries to spread its despicable hatred. The world must know that the United States of America will never back down in the face of such evil. ISIL and the wickedness it represents must be destroyed, and those responsible for this heinous, vicious atrocity will be held accountable.

This statement comes amid reports from the AP that the United States is considering sending new forces to Iraq.

Why are our leaders going out of their way to defend Islam and Muslims?? Is this deliberate or they are plain stupid, naive, ignorant? IS Muslims are only doing what Mo did 1400 years back and set an example fro Muslims to follow when he and Ali beheaded 800 Jews of Medina and ever since then Muslims have followed this bloodbath with more blood spilling. Their own historians tell us in their books (hadiths) and here our leaders are going out with their lies to defend Muslims and Islam. that should make all Muslim countries very happy

Because the Muslim countries have all the oil and if they said what they really thought our energy sources would dry up and we would be f**ked. So we have to kiss their arses and sell them weapons for billions.

Islam is only a religion of peace if you don’t challenge their beliefs and because they keep saying so contrary to their actions.

“Why are our leaders going out of their way to defend Islam and Muslims?? Is this deliberate or they are plain stupid, naive, ignorant?”

Neither answer is satisfactory; most so-called “Elites” in the West are not that evil, and most are not that stupid.

Nor is the answer that other Fitzgeraldian Esdrujula Elf, Cupidity (supplied by Jaladhi’s respondant, “litespeed”).

The answer to that six million dollar question must be more complex. It’s a question that has engaged me, and I’ve taken the time and trouble over the years to ponder and analyze it on my blog (e.g., to pick one out of a hat from dozens I could adduce, my essay from January of 2001, Quantum Ignorance); and while doing so, trying to avoid the temptation for the easy answers either of the Esdrujula Elves or of Conspiracy Theory (the only two answers, apparently, which most in the Counter-Jihad reflexively seem to leap to, as though there were operative in their minds, and in their subculture, an Explanatory Vacuum …).

Jaladhi is perfectly correct. The Islamic jihadists are rightly following the footsteps of the founder of their faith. Peace in islam has a completely different meaning from what the rest of the world knows. True Muslims know that the barbarity being exhibited by the IS jihadists is in the tradition of Islam. Our leaders are either being naive or treacherous in painting islam as a peaceful religion!!

Based on the drivel coming from our leaders I have to conclude the only meaningful standard for human behavior has become what is and what is not a good Muslim. I recall many years ago when western politicians believed in concepts derived from Christianity, Judaism, international law, or (one of my favorites) the US Constitution. If Winston Churchill could have lived another 50 years and was around today, heaven knows what he’d say about John Kerry. We know what he said about Stanley Baldwin, the man he held the most responsible for leaving Britain in a weak position when dealing with Hitler – barbed quotes like “I wish Stanley Baldwin no ill, but it would have been much better if he had never lived”, and “The candle in that great turnip has gone out”, so when Kerry and others trot out the usual rubbish about Islam being a religion of peace, lets not forget that Churchill made penetrating observations like “The religion of Islam above all others was founded upon the sword … Moreover it provides incentives to slaughter, and in three continents has produced fighting breeds of men – filled with a wild and merciless fanaticism.”

My, how the West has fallen, and Bishop Fulton J Sheen made this observation 64 years ago, what a pity our spineless PC politicians still don’t get it in 2014:

Today (1950), the hatred of the Moslem countries against the West is becoming hatred against Christianity itself. Although the statesmen have not yet taken it into account, there is still grave danger that the temporal power of Islam may return and, with it, the menace that it may shake off a West which has ceased to be Christian, and affirm itself as a great anti-Christian world Power. – Bishop Fulton J. Sheen, 1950

What the hell would Fulton J. Sheen think if he were still alive? Hilaire Belloc also saw it coming in this piece in “The Great Heresies” 76 years ago:

Will not perhaps the temporal power of Islam return and with it the menace of an armed Mohammedan world, which will shake off the domination of Europeans — still nominally Christian — and reappear as the prime enemy of our civilization? The future always comes as a surprise, but political wisdom consists in attempting at least some partial judgment of what that surprise may be. And for my part I cannot but believe that a main unexpected thing of the future is the return of Islam. – Hilaire Belloc, The Great Heresies 1938.

He’d say “Told you so” then get branded as a racist.

Hilarie Belloc and Bishop Sheen were right on the money about Islam but Hilarie didn’t forsee the destruction of the Catholic Church after Vatican II and I believe Bishop Sheen was skeptical at first but in the end, capitulated to its heresies of all heresies, Modernism.

        Aug 21, 2014 at 8:58 am

Actually you are the one who is wrong. Baldwin was in power for most of the 20 years between the two World Wars. He was PM three times which is quite unusual for a British politician. Neville Chamberlain (correct spelling) only became PM in 5/1937, so he had only been in office for a short time when he made the famous (or infamous) agreement with Hitler in 9/1938. He is often blamed for that and the subsequent war, but modern historians have reappraised that. He knew that Britain was not militarily strong and wanted to avoid conflict at all costs. Memories of WW1 were still haunting minds.Germany was not in fact as strong as many people thought and could have been resisted at that time, but Hitler was an accomplished liar and con man. Chamberlaln, an English gentleman, not only did not speak German but had never met anyone like him. Nobody else had except the Germans of course!
So if blame is to be apportioned Baldwin must take most of it.

Stupidity or Evil (and surely it would be evil to know (really know — though for all that, it’s not rocket science as many of us in the CJ realize) what Islam is and then lie about it) are not the only choices by which to explain a Kerry — particularly when the majority in the West, Elites and non-Elites, still pretty much think & feel the same, in terms of the TMOE paradigm. (I mean, if even a Daniel Pipes thinks according to the TMOE paradigm — his “TM” is just a tad larger, is all — one can hardly have to strain much to explain a Kerry.)

      What grotesque, bald-faced Taqiyya.

That region was Christian-majority before being invaded by the Muslim hordes.

But Christians and other non-Muslim minorities have been subject to waves of bloody pogroms for centuries, including the Armenian Genocide—which also targeted Assyrian Christians—a hundred years ago.

Christians have been have long been targeted in Syria and Iraq—even under Saddam Hussein this was true.

In 2003, they represented around 5% of the population there—down from 8% in 1987.

It is estimated that the Christian population is now less than a third of what it was *just eleven years ago*.

And all of this was *before* genocidal ISIS showed up.

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christianity_in_Iraq

ISIS is just so open in their genocide of Christians and Yazidis that it is finally getting some attention—otherwise, the claim that this is “unprecedented” is an utter lie.

I think it’s the former, gravenimage. I really don’t believe that Kerry knows that Islam is evil and he is going to surreptitiously enable that evil. I wouldn’t even say this about Obama—-or Carter—-or Hillary Clinton—-or Nancy Pelosi—or Harry Reid—-or, and just in the interest of bipartisanship, of Republicans like John McCain and Lyndsey Graham either.

All these people are, simply, overwhelmingly underwhelming (isn’t it interesting that one can be “overwhelmed” or “underwhelmed” but never just “whelmed”—-but I digress) where knowledge of Islam is concerned (and often many other matters for that matter). A major reality I learned about functioning in the professional and academic world for decades is that no one is quite as dumb as the well-educated dumb. They actually take dumbness to new heights (lows?) on a very consistent basis. If this isn’t a verity I’ve learned about life, then I’ve learned nothing about life.

Hope you’re doing well, my friend. Now back to the fight, eh, the fight being against not only Islam and its deluded followers but also against ( so sadly and uselessly) those dhimmis who remain deeply ignorant of Islam for whatever indefensible reason.

    No Moderate Muslims
There is no such thing as a moderate Muslim, because they wouldn’t be Muslims. If you are a Muslim, then you believe in the teachings of Muhammed and the goal of Islam is “World Islam” as stated in the Q’uran. Radical Muslims want World Islam today, where moderate Muslims believe World Islam can be accomplished over time. Therefore, if you do not believe in those teachings, then you should not be a Muslim. The problem is once you are a Muslim you are always a Muslim.
Islam is a political and military system masquerading as a religion. Muslims can lie to the infidel to promote Islam. The Muslim Brotherhood calls for a “Civilization-Jihadist Process,” in which they would destroy the Western civilization from within. Radical Muslims believe the infidels will have to convert to Islam, be enslaved or be killed. They state, we do not want to democratize Islam, we want to Islamize democracy. That is what we want.
In the Christian faith, it is a sin to commit murder and you can go to Hell. In Islam, if you kill the infidel and die in the action you are martyred and promised paradise and 72 Virgins.
In the United States we do not want to become a Muslim nation and be put under Sharia law, with Honor Killings. That is why we must remain vigilant to protect our freedom. Look at what has been happening in Germany, Great Britain and France.

I could not have put is any better. Where are the ‘moderate peace loving Muslims’
where are the mass demonstrations against Islamic atrocities in the IS and in Africa? They can quickly get together a mass protest against Israel’s action in Gaza, of course that is easy for the vast majority of them Israel should not exist anyway, but get a protest together about Muslim atrocities not only against the infidel but also against other Muslims, and there are an abundance of them, no that is too hard. The only conclusion possible is that in their hearts they think they are OK. Nothing a Muslim does is to be criticised anyway that would be Islamophobic if done by a non Muslims and unIslamic if done by a Muslim.

When the murdering vermin were sentenced, the Judge reiterated the ‘ betrayal of Islam’ nonsense. One of the accused went ‘ballistic’ in the dock and had to be restrained. As far as he was concerned, he had done god’s work and therefore, had committed no crime.

It would probably have got me thrown out of the police force and in the dock, but I wouldn’t have been in the least bit bothered, for I am opretty sure I would have had the backing of the majority, if not in Britain, then surely most of the free world, and saved the taxpayer a fortune keeping them locked up and prevented them proselytising.

      http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/the-lesson-of-algeria-islam-is-indivisible-1566770.html

      CONOR CRUISE O’BRIEN
      Friday 6 January 1995

Make a copy onto your own computer for future use and reference, if the link should break. (I have such a copy).

Then print off and distribute, suitably highlighted, as required.

      Money quotes:

““Fundamentalist Islam” is a misnomer which dulls our perceptions in a dangerous way. It does so by implying that there is some other kind of Islam, which is well disposed to those who reject the Koran. There isn’t.

“Islam is a universalist, triumphalist and political religion. It [and in practice, this means “the Ummah”, the gestalt formed by Muslims, the allah gang, the Mohammedan Mob – dda] claims de jure dominion over all humanity; that is God’s will.

“The actual state of affairs, with unbelievers of various sorts dominating most of the world, is a suspension of God’s will and a scandal to the faithful. The world is divided between the House of Islam and the House of War, meaning the rest of us.

“For more than two centuries now, the House of War has been in the ascendant, and the House of Islam has been abased. The remedy for this unnatural and intolerable state of affairs is jihad….”.

      and

“What is going on today in the Muslim world is not the advent of some aberrant thing called Islamic fundamentalism but a revival of Islam itself – the real thing – which Western ascendancy and Westernised post-Muslim elites no longer have the capacity to muffle and control. The jihad is back…”

      and (toward the end)

“”All the great religions are the same” is the idea.

      “Only they aren’t.

“The Clintonian world view observes [sic: probably ‘obscures’] the hard specificity of Islam.

      “**The Prophet Mohamed did not offer his followers a chance to live in harmony with their neighbours. He taught them to fight their neighbours, if they were unbelievers, and kill them or beat them into submission. And it is futile to say of those Muslims who faithfully follow those teachings today that their actions are “not intrinsically related to Islam”.** {my emphasis – dda}

“We are facing an Islamic revival…”

All these jokers will continue to mouth such lies.I wonder what they would say, if , he was in the shoes of James Foley. Surely then Mr. Kerry would see the light.

    Kerry is a complete fool.
Some will say: He’s not a complete fool, just 90% or 91%.
No, I can assure he is a complete fool. 100%!

ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) is a brutal savage Muslim Terrorist organization, but I think John Kerry is attempting to mislead the American public by referring to ISIS is an ugly insult to the peaceful religion they violate every day with their barbarity. In what country does the peaceful religion of Islam exist that John Kerry refers to? Is he referring to Saudi Arabia where there is no Religious Freedom and the only places of worship allowed to be built are Mosques? Maybe he’s referring to Egypt where President Obama along with his administration were supporting the ousting of a U.S. ally of three decades, Hosni Mubarak, at the direction of Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the Muslim Brotherhood Terrorists spiritual leader. President Obama’s support for the Muslim Brotherhood Terrorist Morsi helped Morsi win the Presidency in Egypt, but by less than honorable means. The people came out in the millions in protest but this time the people had the support of the Egyptian Military, not wanting Muslim Brotherhood Terrorists as their leaders nor wanting to be constrained to the chains of slavery that sharia law brings. Morsi and some members of the Muslim Brotherhood were arrested and jailed, then the Obama supported Muslim Brotherhood Terrorists in Egypt destroyed 80+ Coptic Christian Churches and they beat, raped, tortured and murdered innocent Christian men, women and children. After all this, President Obama along with his administration requested the Egyptian people hand the reins of Egypt back over to Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood Terrorists. What played through in Egypt should have been a wake up call to all American’s. Are these the peaceful Muslims John Kerry’s talking about. Maybe he’s talking about the Obama supported Muslim Brotherhood Terrorists, al-Qaeda Muslim Terrorists and al-Nusra Muslim Terrorists the Obama administration has been supporting in Syria who have also beat, raped, tortured and murdered unarmed, innocent Christian men, women and children. It was President Obama who said in his book “The Audacity of Hope” on page 261.. “I will stand with the Muslims, should the political winds shift in an ugly direction” this with all that he and his administration has done leads me to question the allegiance of many in office. In Joseph A. Klein’s book “Lethal Engagement” he writes “Islamists now have the power to rewrite international law because they dominate the United Nations General Assembly, the Human Rights Council (the UN’s principal human rights body), and other global forums.” He goes on to say “The more votes there are in the 192-member General Assembly for the Islamists’ sharia-friendly agenda, the easier it is for them to claim that they are simply reflecting international opinion.” ” And with President Obama busy placating world opinion in general and the Islamists in particular, expect the United States to increasingly join in Europe’s appeasement.” – In the article by Andrew McCarthy in “Islamization Watch” titled: “Exploring Hillary Clinton’s Sticky Icky Connection w/ Muslim Brotherhood Sister Huma Abedin” he writes (not verbatim): When Michele Bachmann and others began questioning the Muslim Brotherhood’s infiltration of the White House, and Hillary Clinton’s close aide Huma Abedin’s connections to the Muslim Brotherhood Terrorists, Senator John McCain and House Speaker John Boehner didn’t question or target the Muslim Brotherhood but began to target Michele Bachmann. Glenn Beck reported that GOP leadership attempted to extort an apology out of Bachmann by threatening to boot her from the House Intelligence Committee if she fails to submit. The article asks Speaker Boehner to take just a couple minutes out of his busy jihad against Bachmann and to focus on how the State Department during Ms. Abein’s tenure-has cozied up to Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the Muslim Brotherhood’s chief sharia jurist. It goes on to say that since Hillary Clinton’s tenure began with Huma Abedin serving as top adviser, the United States has aligned itself with the Muslim Brotherhood Terrorist organization. In the article it goes on to ask why was the State Department’s Fulbright Scholarship given to Siham al-Qaradawi, the daughter of Yusuf al-Qaradawi?” – With the knowledge that Yusuf al-Qaradawi has called for the murders of American troops on more than one occasion, and the Muslim Brotherhood’s goal is to destroy America from within, and President Obama along with his administration and the House Speaker John Boehner protecting the Muslim Brotherhood and those with known connections, I think not only are they valid questions but should be investigated. President Obama has only brought pain, misery and Islamic jihad to the middle east and in the United States the same, I believe Jihad is on its way. It is well known that President Obama supports the Muslim Brotherhood Terrorists and knowing he is allowing 50-100 thousand Muslim’s a year for next five years to enter the United States, the United States is in big trouble, our Constitution will be under attack from a more formidable force that will align themselves with the Muslim Brotherhood and the Muslim organizations already here under the umbrella of the Muslim Brotherhood. In the United States CAIR was involved with the Holy Land Foundation scheme where approximately 12 million dollars was collected and sent to support the Hamas Terrorists who bomb and maim unarmed, innocent Israeli men, women and children, and knowing this I hope that CAIR and all entities coming out of the Muslim Brotherhood Terrorist organization are monitored closely, it’s not far fetched to believe CAIR could just as well support a Muslim Terrorist cell in the United States ready to attack American citizens at a moments notice. President Obama and all those in office who support the Muslim Brotherhood with the well-known knowledge that their goal is to destroy America from within, should be imprisoned if any citizens are hurt because of their recklessness in supporting these Terrorists. Whatever the thoughts American’s might have of the Russian President, Vladimir Putin was correct in asking countries to put their differences aside and come together against the genocide of Christians going on around the globe by Muslim Terrorists. President Obama ignored his request and I can only reason that he did so because he was supporting some of the Muslim Terrorists involved. God Bless America, Israel and all Real Freedom Fighting Patriots.
