“As I speak there are no military in Buni Yadi and locals say that Boko Haram come and go as they please.” With Nigerian generals arming Boko Haram, this is no surprise. In any case, some Muslims believe that smoking cigarettes is displeasing to Allah. But killing those who smoke cigarettes — that doesn’t bother the Islamic deity at all.
“Boko Haram ‘executes’ 2 for smoking cigarettes Militants take Nigeria town,” AFP, August 21, 2014:
KANO, Nigeria, Aug 21, (AFP): Boko Haram has seized control of a town in northeastern Nigeria, the latest to fall into Islamist hands in the crisis- hit region, witnesses and a local official said Thursday. Several residents who fled the Boko Haram assault on Buni Yadi in Yobe state said it began late last month, with the insurgents ultimately taking over the main government building.
They have reportedly raised their flag above the building and have carried out summary executions, including of two people who were caught smoking cigarettes.
Abdullahi Bego, the spokesman for Yobe’s Governor Ibrahim Geidam, could not confirm the executions. But he told AFP: “As I speak there are no military in Buni Yadi and locals say that Boko Haram come and go as they please. “So many people from Buni Yadi have fled to the state capital Damaturu,” he added. Residents said the rebels, who massacred dozens of students at a boarding school in Buni Yadi in February and kidnapped more than 200 schoolgirls from neighbouring Borno state in April, had set up roadblocks.
They were also robbing people as they tried to flee. “I left Buni Yadi yesterday (Wednesday) because it was no longer safe for me and my family,” said trader Surajo Muhammad. The gunmen “shot dead two men for smoking and they also killed a known drug peddler”, he added.
Tijjani Bukar, who also fled, reported the same executions. “I couldn’t stay any longer because I came to realise these people have come to stay,” he said. “I thought they would be there for a few days but from our understanding they have turned the town into their (territory).” The United Nations has confirmed that Boko Haram had seized control of the towns of Damboa and Gwoza in Borno state in recent weeks. There are indications that Damboa was retaken by the military in an offensive earlier this month but details are not clear.

what about Turkish water pipes is that halal or haram?

Smoking whether houkkas or rolled cigarettes is rampant throughout the Middle East. There are smoking cafes throughout the Arabian peninsula where Muslim men sit and smoke strong fruit-flavored tobacco while watching Al Jazeera reinforce their glibly pop-flavored Occidentophobia, Judaeophobia, & Islamofanaticism.

Me too. I’ve even met some Muslims who drink the occasional beer or two, although they’re not supposed to.
Mormons strongly forbid smoking and also drinking, but I haven’t heard of Mormons killing “Jack Mormons” (lapsed, backsliding Mormons) or non-Mormons for smoking or even drinking.
“Books bad” (Boko Haram)…what a silly name.

Bernie,
Thanks for the confirmation.

Allah is a blood-thirsty god as Muslims are so eager to kill in his name. Clearly, Muhammad was not receiving messages from an angel; more likely he was being led by a demon or Satan.

I have read that when Mohammad first began having these cave visions he told his wife he thought they might be demonic, she encouraged him to continue and the rest is history.

It seems to me that Islam is full of control freaks who make up what Allah likes or doesn’t like as they go along. Even if you switch to Islam there will always be a Muslim group who don’t approve of you or your version of Islam.

Bloomberg buys anti-smoking fatawa which likely led to the death of these 2 smokers via Propaganda pushes
Indonesian Clerics Join Smoking Fatwa Row
Muhammadiyah issued the fatwa on Tuesday, comparing smoking to suicide, which is prohibited in Islam. The next day, the organization and antitobacco campaigners jointly targeted cigarette advertising as one of the main culprits behind a spike in underage smokers.
Over the weekend, however, Muhammadiyah found itself on the defensive, denying that the fatwa was related to a grant it received from a US-based antitobacco organization. The Bloomberg Initiative to Reduce Tobacco Use, funded by New York Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, lists a November 2009 grant to Muhammadiyah worth $393,234 on its Web site.
Among the grant’s stated purposes is “the issuance and dissemination of religious advice on the dangers of tobacco use.”

What an inspired way to get people to stop smoking permanently. Come to think of it, Islam’s solution to anything haram, or even slightly haram, is death.
A group of Muslims recently built a mosque in southern Canada and trucked it up to an area in the north close to a First Nation. As tobacco and smoking tobacco is sacred to First Nations people in Canada, those Muslims are going to be in for an unhappy comeuppance when they attempt to enforce their no-smoking ban in a native community. Islam kabam.
