Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Obama: Abbas “sincere in his desire for peace”

Aug 7, 2014 12:18 am By Robert Spencer

ObamaAbbasYet in late July, Abbas “concluded his brief speech with the first verse of the Quran that permits Muslims to wage war for Allah.” But not to worry. He’s a “moderate”! Barack Obama said so, and could he be wrong?

“Obama Urges Enduring Cease-Fire for Gaza Strip,” by Lara Jakes, Associated Press, August 6, 2014:

An enduring stability between Israel and Palestinians is not in the near future, and will require leaders on both sides of the generations-long dispute to take political risks for the sake of peace and prosperity, President Barack Obama said Wednesday.

But first, Obama said, a temporary cease-fire in place in the Gaza Strip must hold without being violated before it expires on Friday.

Wrapping up a day of meeting with African leaders, Obama responded to a reporter’s questions about ongoing negotiations in Cairo over how to maintain the tentative truce between Israel and the militant group Hamas that controls the Gaza Strip.

The president said Israel deserves to defend itself from a barrage of rockets from Gaza, and terror tunnels that Hamas has dug into Israel. At the same time, however, he said the Palestinian people in Gaza need to have some confidence that they will be able to rebuild their communities, pursue prosperity and not feel walled off from the rest of the world.

To achieve both goals, “there are formulas available, but they are going to require risks on the part of political leaders, they will require a slow rebuilding of trust, which is obviously very difficult in the aftermath of the kind of violence that we have seen,” Obama told journalists. “So I don’t think we get there right away.”

He twice repeated that “I have no sympathy for Hamas,” which both the U.S. and Israel consider a terrorist organization.

Nearly 1,900 Palestinians have been killed in the latest outbreak of fighting between Israel and Hamas that began July 8. Sixty-four Israeli soldiers and three civilians inside Israel have also been killed.

Obama also said he has “great sympathy” for the Palestinian Authority, which is based in the West Bank city of Ramallah and is led by President Mahmoud Abbas, who over the last year participated in what was an ultimately failed push for enduring peace with Israel.

Obama called Abbas “sincere in his desire for peace,” but said the Palestinian Authority appears to have been weakened by the violence and failure for a long-term resolution with Israel. He said the Palestinian Authority has shown itself to be responsible, and has recognized the state of Israel, as part of its desire for a solution that would also give international recognition to a state of Palestine.

“The population in the West Bank may also have lost confidence or hope on how to move forward,’ Obama said. “We have to rebuild on that as well.”…

The only time they would agree to a ceasefire is if Hamas is hurting. Don’t stop now, wipe out Hamas. If they ever fire rockets at Israel again, go back in and deal with it.

“…will require leaders on both sides of the generations-long dispute to take political risks for the sake of peace and prosperity…”

This is why the Israelis can never gain peace for land. If a Muslim “takes a political risk” in reality that person will probably be murdered. It’s not a “political” risk, but life threatening, and possibly to his entire family. Whereas Israelis, with some exceptions, tend to approach things rationally, absent a religion of coercion demanding loyalty akin to the Mafia’s omerta, and without murderous rage.

Brilliant, Beagle: Islam is the religious embodiment of Orwell’s “a boot on a human face, forever”.

Also true that Israel can never gain peace for land. How many times can Israel in the post-1967 War era keep doing the same futile things after negotiating with Islamic terrorists, expecting different results? (Rhetorical question.) I wonder if the secularization of many Jews including some of Israel’s leadership robs them of the counsel of G-d through Ruach HaKodesh that would, if they only trusted, inspire them to know at their core the evil of violent, deceptive Islam and make better decisions. (Rhetorical musing.)

Sigh. The Israel of the 1967 War — now that was some fine fighting for justice!

Obama sounds as wise as King Solomon when he Pontificates. OMG. As far as Abbas and company being so responsible, Israel should expose any dispersion of public funds into their personal accounts in Ramallah or overseas. I’d bet that some agency in Israel has much of that information. Also, regarding the terrorists living in Gaza, there personal assets should be identified and exposed. Afterwards we will see just how responsible they will be perceived.

The Muslim interpretation of a peace treaty/ceasefire—–buy time to regroup and rearm and then have another go at the infidel.
The Israelis know that there will never be peace with the Muslims, because the Koran specifically forbids it.
Western Civilization just doesn´t get it–there will NEVER be any peace with Islam, only periods of not fighting.

So true! The only reason the Crusades ended was the Muslims ran out of money. Now, with an endless supply of oil revenue, they plan on finishing the job of conquering the world for Alah. Look at Europe. They almost completed taking Europe without firing a shot. They’re working on America the same way.

Abbas has already walked away from one peace deal. He aims to achieve through diplomacy what the Muslims have not been able to achieve in battle. First is weakening Israel by indefensible borders and then attacking area-by-area. The unity government with Hamas is intended to be a basis for having a government to gain UN imposed settlement in October/November. I have felt this way for quite awhile and see nothing changing this view. Weakening Hamas is helpful to Abbas but only a matter of time before Hamas would win an election because the PA has been for decades and is corrupt and unable to maintain order at a drive-in parking lot.

Israel is now forced to sue for peace. Netanyahu might do as demanded by the UN but set conditions-

    1. Any further rockets from Gaza will result in renewed invasion.
    2. NO further ‘peace’ or ‘truce’ will be offered. Zero tolerance.
    3. The Palestinian people will be held to blame for all future casualties, unless they eradicate Hamas, close their ‘schools’ and replace them with secular ones.
    4. Palestinians may ask for help from any third party in ridding Gaza of Hamas

I have been convinced for a long time that Obama has a special place in his heart for Allah, which is why I refer to him as Rasulullah (Rasool), the Apostle of Allah…He read the Quran, he knows that Allah hates Jews. If he cares about Allah at all, he must hate what Allah hates or suffer the consequences of opposing Allah. If he is in tuner with Allah, he is a jihadist in the White house. He will then do as little for Israel as he can get away with, and aid the terrorists as much as he can get away with.
If you want to see Rasool squirm, ask him, ‘Do you believe that Allah is God and Mahound his messenger? He will stand on his head to not answer that.

Who call themselves chosen people of God(as if others were created by Satan)? Jews. Jews are special people. This Bahai guy called Abbas wants peace. But the Q is, do the peace loving Jews want peace?

The answer to your last question, “Do the peace-loving Jews want peace?” Is YES. Also, Paul persecuted Christians before his conversion to Christianity, but to call the Jewish response to Christians “genocide” is ludicrous. A suggestion: Look into the man in the mirror and ask him a question, “Do you really believe what the Qur’an and Muhammad said about the Jews is true?” Consider that what you have been taught is not true. Good luck.

Theory: Muslims like to sing-song about the perils of “Muslim Humiliation”
Obama wishes to appease them with a deep bow to show he means no offence to their pride.

The flaw in this thinking is the same one that allowed Hitler to rise to power claiming ‘defense against’ humiliation in order to justify humiliation and murder against his enemies while claiming victimhood.

Abbas is “sincere in his desire for peace.”
    http://palwatch.org/main.aspx?fi=157&doc_id=11646
“Former Hamas government spokesman Ihab Al-Ghussein announced today that in private meetings with Hamas, Mahmoud Abbas insists that he is lying in his public statements in order to “trick the Americans…” ‘You know what Mahmoud Abbas says behind closed doors?? He says: ‘Guys, let me [continue] saying what I say to the media. Those words are meant for the Americans and the occupation (i.e., Israel), not for you [Hamas]. What’s important is what we agree on among ourselves. In other words, when I go out [publicly] and say that the [PA] government is my [Abbas’] government and it recognizes ‘Israel’ and so on, fine – these words are meant to trick the Americans.”

Who’d have thought? Another thought about peace. A 2009 Sixth General Conference by Fatah declared the PLO Charter “remains at it was, without any changes.”

The PLO Charter calls for jihad and the annihilation of Israel. Just like the Hamas Charter. It declares Israel’s establishment illegal, null and void, that Palestine (meaning Israel, of course) is an indivisible territorial unit, an Arab homeland, belonging to Palestinian Arabs, that its “liberation” is the duty of the Arab Nation (all Arabs) and in the amended 1968 Charter “armed struggle is the only way to liberate Palestine. This is the overall strategy, not merely a tactical phase.” It announces that nothing short of total liberation is acceptable and this can only be done militarily. It calls for the Jewish state to be destroyed because “Israel is the instrument of the Zionist movement and the geographical base for world imperialism placed strategically (i.e. a conspiracy) in the midst of the Arab homeland to combat the hopes of the Arab nations…liberation of Palestine will destroy the Zionist and imperialist presence.”

These oaths have never been annulled or amended (despite promises to do so). “At an event marking the 49th anniversary of the PLO’s founding, Abbas (according to a translation by the Palestinian news agency Ma’an) declared that PLO founder Ahmad Shuqueiri “was asked to figure out what the Palestinians wanted, and he returned with the convention for the PLO.” In other words, according to Abbas, the PLO’s founding document is an accurate reflection of what Palestinians want.”

By his words Abbas in showing “his sincere desire for peace”is far form impressive. Such empty words and fake “good intentions for peace” are nothing new when in comes to those kind of men in the Middle East . For these kind of disingenuous men go as far back as to ancient times. For example the Bible reads in Psalm 55:20,21. “Such men do violence to those at peace with them and break their promised word: their speech is smoother then butter but their thoughts are of war.” [NEB]
