Does anyone still think that Barack Obama genuinely has any interest in maintaining the United States’ alliance with Israel? That anyone thought he did in the first place shows the power of the mainstream media in propagating falsehoods. Since the beginning of his political career, Obama has allied with the most venomous haters of Israel. No one should have imagined that he would behave any differently as President.
“Obama Administration Delays Arms Shipments to Israel… as it Confirms Advanced Arms Sales to Turkey and Qatar,” by Joseph Gelman, IsraelUSA.net, August 14, 2014:
The Obama administration has recently executed arms sales to two bad actors in the Middle East; Turkey and Qatar.
The administration recently cleared the sale of advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles, also known as AMRAAM’s, to Turkey. According to the announcement, the missiles will be used on Turkey’s F-16 aircraft – and eventually on stealth F-35 aircraft that the administration intends to supply Turkey.
Turkey has requested 145 AMRAAMs, 10 missile guidance sections, and 40 LAU-129 launchers, containers, support equipment, spare and repair parts, integration activities, publications and technical documentation, test equipment, personnel training and training equipment, U.S. government and contractor logistics, engineering and technical support and other related elements or logistical and program support.
The administration statement said the sale was “consistent with U.S. national interests”.
Similarly, the Obama Administration recently signed an agreement with Qatar to sell the Gulf Arab state Apache attack helicopters and Patriot and Javelin air-defense systems valued at $11 billion. Qatar is a major financier and supporter of both Hamas and ISIS in Iraq. The Leader of the Hamas terrorist organization actually lives in Qatar, not far from the United States Central Command headquarters that is based in that country.
As all of this is going on, the Wall Street Journal reports that the Obama Administration has decided to tighten its control on arms transfers to Israel. Each transfer will no longer go directly through the Pentagon, but must now be approved by the State Department and the White House, giving Secretary Kerry and President Obama direct control on every transfer. The new procedure has had the affect of delaying the transfer of precision strike hellfire missiles to Israel in a time of war. The administration clearly intends to use such transfers as political leverage on Israel.
The WSJ reported that a senior Obama administration official said the White House didn’t intend to get into a “tit for tat” with the Israelis when the war broke out in Gaza. “We have many, many friends around the world. The United States is their strongest friend,” the official said. “The notion that they are playing the United States, or that they’re manipulating us publicly, completely miscalculates their place in the world,” the administration official said in reference to the Jewish State.

Angemon says
Erm, what?
JoePk says
The “national interest” referred to may simply be in reducing the USA’s enormous negative trade balance. Because prices for arms are usually high, munitions sales are generally more effective at reducing a deficit than sales of other items.
In an area of the world where the US appears to be helping to start a needless war, the plan may be to sell weapons to both sides of the conflict. That appears to be the view of many people around the world. They may be correct.
RonaldB says
Which war is the US helping to start, in which both sides will actually pay for US arms?
JoePk says
I wasn’t referring to any particular place – just places where it appears that the US is trying to start a war. It often begins with the US “helping” some little-known rebel faction somewhere.
In the case of Israel vs. Gazans, the US supplies arms for both Israel and its enemies. Some of the munitions sold to muslim countries make their way to jihadis in Gaza and elsewhere.
A related national security interest that I didn’t mention is a need to keep the US arms industry financially healthy. More customers means more sales, money and advancements in technology.
It looks to me like WW-3 is coming. If so, the US must not be caught far behind, as it was shortly before WW-2.

Edward says
I don’t think America will survive that long if the US brass aids and abets in Israel’s demise…..no nobody dares to deny the Creator’s ownership of the Holy Land! Annihilation of Israel is not the answer to bring peace to that area. For if Israel was completely wiped off the map turmoil would be worse. God designed the walls and gates of Jerusalem!
“Look, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands, your walls are ever before me.” – Isaiah 49:16
So let the fools test such prophesies.
TH says
Your interpretation of the Bible is way off. In 586 B.C., Nabuodonosor, Kingof Babylon, destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple precisely due to the weong interpretation of the promises made to King David in his day about his dynasty lasting forever. They thought that God would perform some miracle whilst they were installing false gods and worshipping them in the temple itself.
Likewise the zealots in the Jewish War of 66-70 thought they could prevail over the might of Rome, whilst they were killing one another within the walls of Jerusalem.
So, the Bible doesn’t teach any automatic miracles on God´s part to save Israel or anyone else. He has given human beings free will and has to be willing to put up with their bad use of it as he has done troughout history. If he had been willing to stop Islam from killing 270 people by means of jihad thoughout its 1400 yeas of nefarious history, he would have done it aleady.
Thus, the only way of dealing with jihad is to stop it once it begins to appear and crush it. They only thing muslims understand is force and such things as dialogue and being nice are seen by them as a sign of weakness to be taken advantage of. Teh more of it they get the better they understand it. That is why it is absolutley necessary for Israel to hit them hard and give them the message that more tunnels and such tey build they will only receive a harshed attack the next time.
They wimpy West led by the like of jihadist Obama understands none of this.

The US is the only country to have voted against the UN resolution condemning Israel (source:http://www.timesofisrael.com/why-nobody-but-the-us-voted-against-the-uns-anti-israel-resolution/), thats about as loyal as you can get.
Its never enough, of course.
RonaldB says
It’s a very interesting and very scary article. It shows the governments of the EU and governments allied with the US, and supposedly committed to democratic principles, completely throwing Israel to the wolves because they don’t want to go against international public opinion.
It might be a weakness of representative government, that it’s “leaders” actually determine their decisions based solely on public opinion and perceptions, and relegate logical self-interest to the closet.
From the standpoint of the Obama administration, the lone vote against the resolution is a winner. The resolution still passes overwhelmingly. The administration scores points with the Jewish constituency which supports Israel, but otherwise supports the Obama social agenda. And it reminds Israel that were it not for the US, Israel would long ago have been subject to an international boycott and sanction as binding as the UN could make it.
If the US really wishes to support Israel, and the cause of human liberty, it will continue the unimpeded shipment of arms to Israel, support Israel unconditionally in the UN, and announce that it will consider any resolutions against Israel to be invalid on their face, including any boycotts, sanctions, or acts to isolate Israel.
thomas_h says
“The US is the only country to have voted against the UN resolution condemning Israel… thats about as loyal as you can get.”

I think Benjamin Netanyahu should win the Nobel Peace Prize.
Canada is a strong supported of Israel and we don’t have a large Jewish population but we do recognize evil. We actively support Israel through supporting our government and by buying Israeli made goods. In fact many of us have switched brands to do so.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper went to Israel to meet with Netanyahu to declare his support in person. Harper despises Obama.
Please read this excerpt.
Despite the good intentions, Israelis felt let down again by Brussels. After the EU foreign ministers on Tuesday came out with a dramatic statement that affirmed Israel’s “legitimate right to defend itself,” called on Hamas to cease attacking Israel and demanded all Gaza terrorist groups be disarmed, they hoped for a stronger stance on Israel’s behalf.
Instead, Israel will take comfort in the staunch pro-Israel stance demonstrated, once again, by Canada and Australia.
Neither country had a vote Wednesday in the Human Rights Council, but they made plain where they stand.
“Canada is frustrated and deeply disappointed that the UNHRC decided to completely ignore the abhorrent terrorist acts of Hamas,” Foreign Minister John Baird said. “This resolution turns a blind eye to the facts on the ground and that one party is responsible for the suffering of the Palestinian people, and that is the international terrorist group Hamas.”
There can be no moral equivalence between a terrorist organization and a liberal democratic state, and the council’s vote “undermines this body’s credibility,” he said.

there would have been a *lot* fewer than 6 million dead if the Jewish community in Poland (not to mention elsewhere in Europe) had believed the man who told them to **get out** and to **get out NOW**, right on the eve of the day of destruction. **In 1937**. (Note that date well, because it is two years before the infamous British White Paper of 1939, that slammed and locked the gates of Mandatory Palestine against any Jews attempting to flee that way from Europe).
Here’s a story to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.
http://www.newenglishreview.org/blog_direct_link.cfm/blog_id/43085
Thursday, 19 July 2012
Vladimir Jabotinsky’s Place In History, And Slovo O Polku
“…Jabotinsky was forbidden to return to Mandatory Palestine, by the British, in 1930, **and spent his last years in Europe, where he understood what was coming and tried to warn the Jews of eastern Europe.** {my emphasis – dda}
“In Warsaw, in 1937, this is what he said to a gigantic crowd gathered at the time of a Jewish holiday:
“It is already THREE years that I am calling upon you, Polish Jewry, who are the crown of World Jewry.
“I continue to warn you incessantly that a catastrophe is coming closer.
” I became grey and old in these years, my heart bleeds, that you, dear brother and sisters, do not see the volcano which will soon begin to spit its all-consuming lava.
“I see that you are not seeing this because you are immersed and sunk in your daily worries.
“Today, however, I demand from you trust.
“You were convinced already that my prognoses have already proven to be right.
If you think differently, then drive me out of your midst!
“**However, if you do believe me, then listen to me in this twelfth hour:
“In the name of God!** {my emphasis – dda}
“Let anyone of you save himself, as long as there is still time, and time there is very little.
“What else I would like to say to you on this day of Tisha B’Av is whoever of you will escape from the catastrophe, he or she will live to see the exalted moment of a great Jewish wedding – the rebirth and rise of a Jewish state…”.
When I read that, chills went down my back as I realized: the Holy One *did* warn His people.
What more could He have done, given the limits under which He has normally chosen to act, in this present dispensation?
If you want a longer answer to the perennial Question of Evil (that only really arises in connection with the Biblical God), then read David Bentley Hart, “The Doors of the Sea”.

We have some asinine politicians who support the Palis because of Muslims in their seat.
They don’t take into account that if a jihadi blows himself up amidst a crowd of people, he seldom stops to ask if anyone in the crowd supports “Palestine”.
However, we have a reasonable OM and FM at the moment so we’ll see how things pan out politically. We have the usual bigots and BDS pushers, media Palibunnies and anti Semitism, but a lot of “silent majority” types who see what is happening and support Israel, understanding what occurs there.
At the same time, the constant lack of proper reporting re Gaza is infuriating.
The Levite says
On June 7 we destroyed the Iraqi nuclear reactor “Osirak” near Baghdad. I don’t want to mention to you today from whom we received the final information that this reactor was going to produce atomic bombs. We had no doubt about that: therefore our action was an act of salvation, an act of national self-defense in the most lofty sense of the concept. We saved the lives of hundreds of thousands of civilians, including tens of thousands of children. Nonetheless, you announced that you were punishing us – and you left unfilled a signed and sealed contract that included specific dates for the supply of (war) planes. Not long after, in a defensive act – after a slaughter was committed against our people leaving three dead (including an Auschwitz survivor) and 29 were injured we bombed the PLO headquarters in Beirut.
You have no moral right to preach to us about civilian casualties. We have read the history of World War Two and we know what happened to civilians when you took action against an enemy. We have also read the history of the Vietnam war and your phrase “body-count”. We always make efforts to avoid hitting civilian populations, but sometimes it is unavoidable – as was the case in our bombing of the PLO headquarters. We sometimes risk the lives of our soldiers to avoid civilian casualties. Nonetheless, you punished us: you suspended delivery of F-15 planes. A week ago, at the instance of the Government, the Knesset passed on all three readings by an overwhelming majority of two-thirds, the “Golan Heights Law.” Now you once again declare that you are punishing Israel. What kind of expression is this – “punishing Israel”? Are we a vassal state of yours? Are we a banana republic? Are we youths of fourteen who, if they don’t behave properly, are slapped across the fingers? Let me tell you who this government is composed of. It is composed of people whose lives were spent in resistance, in fighting and in suffering. You will not frighten us with “punishments”. He who threatens us will find us deaf to his threats. We are only prepared to listen to rational arguments. You have no right to “punish” Israel – and I protest at the very use of this term.
You have announced that you are suspending consultations on the implementation of the memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation, and that your return to these consultations in the future will depend on progress achieved in the autonomy talks and on the situation in Lebanon. You want to make Israel a hostage of the memorandum of understanding. I regard your announcement suspending the consultations on the memorandum of as the abrogation (by you) of the memorandum. No “sword of Damocles” is going to hang over our head. So we duly take note of the fact that you have abrogated the memorandum of understanding. The people of Israel has lived 3,700 years without a memorandum of understanding with America – and it will continue to live for another 3,700. In our eyes it (i.e., the U.S. suspension) is an abrogation of the memorandum. We will not agree that you should demand of us to allow the Arabs of East Jerusalem to take part in the autonomy elections – and threaten us that if we don’t consent you will suspend the memorandum.
You have imposed upon us financial punishments – and have (thereby) violated the word of the President. When Secretary Haig was here he read from a written document the words of President Reagan that you would purchase 200 million dollars worth of Israel arms and other equipment. Now you say it will not be so. This is therefore a violation of the President’s word. Is it customary? Is it proper? You cancelled an additional 100 million dollars. What did you want to do – to “hit us in our pocket”? In 1946 there lived in this house a British general by the name of Barker. Today I live here. When we fought him, you called us “terrorists” – and we carried on fighting. After we attacked his headquarters in the requisitioned building of the King David Hotel, Barker said: “This race will only be influenced by being hit in the pocket” – and he ordered his soldiers to stop patronizing Jewish cafes. To hit us in the pocket – this is the philosophy of Barker. Now I understand why the whole great effort in the Senate to obtain a majority for the arms deal with Saudi Arabia was accompanied by an ugly campaign of anti-Semitism. First, the slogan was sounded “Begin or Reagan?” – and that meant that whoever opposes the deal is supporting a foreign prime minister and is not loyal to the President of the United States. And thus Senators like Jackson, Kennedy, Packwood and of course Boschwitz are not loyal citizens.
Then the slogan was sounded “We should not let the Jews determine the foreign policy of the United States.” What was the meaning of this slogan? The Greek minority in the U.S. did much to determine the Senate decision to withhold weapons from Turkey after it invaded Cyprus. No one will frighten the great and free Jewish community of the U.S., no one will succeed in cowing them with anti-Semitic propaganda. They will stand by our side. This is the land of their forefathers – and they have a right and a duty to support it. Some say we must “rescind” the law passed by the Knesset. “To rescind” is a concept from the days of the Inquisition. Our forefathers went to the stake rather than “rescind” their faith. We are not going to the stake. Thank God. We have enough strength to defend our independence and to defend our rights. If it were up to me (alone) I would say we should not rescind the law. But as far as I can judge there is in fact no one on earth who can persuade the Knesset to rescind the law which it passed by a two-thirds majority. Mr. Weinberger – and later Mr. Haig – said that the law adversely affects UN Resolution 242. Whoever says that has either not read the Resolution or has forgotten it, or has not understood it. The essence of the Resolution is negotiation to determine agreed and recognized borders. Syria has announced that it will not conduct negotiations with us, that it does not and will not recognize us – and thus removed from Resolution 242 its essence.
How, therefore, could we adversely affect 242? As regards the future, please be kind enough to inform the Secretary of, State that the Golan Heights Law will remain valid. There is no force on earth that can bring about its rescission. As for the contention that we surprised you, the truth is that we did not want to embarrass you. We knew your difficulties. You come to Riyadh and Damascus. It was President Reagan who said that Mr. Begin was right – that had Israel told the U.S. about the law (in advance) the U.S. would have said no. We did not want you to say no – and then go ahead and apply Israeli law to the Golan Heights. Our intention was not to embarrass you. As regards Lebanon, I have asked that the Secretary of State be informed that we will not attack, but if we are attacked, we will counterattack. – Statement by Prime Minister Begin on U.S. Measures Against Israel, 20 December 1981 http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2497792/posts
