Why were these children different?

A number of children, one aged just thirteen, have left Germany for Syria and Iraq to join Islamic jihadists. Some have already returned with battle experience. They join around 400 other Germans who have left for the Islamic State to join jihadist forces there, The Local has reported.
The disturbing news was revealed by Hans-Georg Maaßen, head of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) who was speaking to the Rheinische Post. According to Maaßen 24 children have already travelled to take part in the jihad. Four were girls who had met Islamic fighters online and had left with a “romantic ideal of marrying a jihadist,” while five had already returned with fighting experience. None of the five were previously known to the police, who were only made aware of their actions when they were reported missing by their parents or foreign intelligence agencies contacted the BfV.

A recent report by the German Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution found that the jihadists were typically “young, male failures”.
The report found that 90 percent were male, 75 percent did not finish school, and just 12 percent held jobs when they left for the middle east.
Last Friday German Muslims held a day of prayer and rallies condemning both Islamic extremism and the backlash against the wider Muslim population that it has caused in Germany. “We want to make clear that the majority of Muslims in this country and around the world think and act differently. Islam is a peaceful religion,” said Aiman Mazyek, chairman of the Central Council of Muslims. Germany’s interior minister Thomas de Maizière visited a Hanover mosque to show his support for the action day.

There are sects which put a more peaceful spin on Islam. The Ahmadis, viewed as heretics by Sunni Salafists, and still quite annoying as viewed by myself, tend to be much less physically dangerous.

What bizarre antisemitism is this? For one thing, R Davis seems incapable of understanding that one can be ethnically Jewish and also Christian.
This was, in fact, the case will *all* of the earliest Christians—including the apostles.

Even more to the point, so was *Jesus himself*.
Further, the whole Christians as “fallen Jews” thing is pretty fringy—it seems to be mostly promulgated by David N. Myers, who also wrote the book “Between Jew and Arab”, which posits Muslims as the new “Jewish question”, and portrays any resistance on Israel’s part against the Jihad being waged against them as “discrimination” against Arabs.
Pretty iffy stuff…
But even assuming for a moment that Jews *did* consider Christians “fallen Jews”, it would be odd that *this* is what enrages R Davis—note that he has not one word of criticism for Muslims *committing genocide against Christians* in the Islamic State, which is what the story above covers.

I’m a leftist who knows about islam. This is only my second comment.
This is the problem with “good” muslims. They breed. A lot. Whether the parents are peaceful or not, the kids eventually learn the truth about their prophet and become “radicalized.” How can it be wrong to chop off people’s heads, lie to unbelievers, enslave and rape women and children, steal from non muslims and commit acts of senseless slaughter/terrorism, when their prophet did all those things – AND ORDERED HIS FOLLOWERS TO DO THE SAME? To say these things are evil is blasphemy; for a muslim, they are heresy/apostasy.
I very much wanted to respond to all the kind souls who responded to me (especially one who assumed that I was on his side and wrote a polemic against someone who attacked islam) but I am in very poor health and can only do so much.
This is an issue on which my side – the left – is wrong. They seem to think that Mo was the Arab Jesus. Unless we can all unite, putting our other differences aside on this one issue we will lose to these barbarians.
Both the right and left have their blind spots. This issue, we should set aside; it’s too important. Reagan armed Al Queida. Bush promoted democracy throughout the Arab world, to a people who find it intolerable and want only sharia. He armed and trained the Sunnis; IS is that famous “Sunni awakening” that he was so proud of. He destabilized the muslim world and a wildfire is spreading. Somalia, Nigeria Sudan, Egypt, Libya, Syria, Iraq are like a hornet’s nest that some idiot hit with a stick.
Don’t get me wrong, Clinton bombed Serbia nearly to the stone age when he should have intervened ON THEIR SIDE! But when he tried to go after Al Queida, Republicans claimed he was just inventing a war to distract from the oh so important Lewinsky affair. And Obama is stupidly following Bush’s lead, babbling about islam being a religion of peace. Unless we get together as Americans and recognize that all our leaders are idiots or worse, we will lose this conflict.

There are so many on which socialism is wrong, for instance how to run a political economy. By ripping out the requirement for personal responsibility, incentive is depleted. From there it’s all about being a central bureaucrat divvying up the proceeds, for which you get paid 30% to 60% more, have a light workload, can’t be fired, get to retire early, and don’t have to go on a bullcrap health plan like Obamacare. Bureaucrats form the new upper caste.

I remember when I was thirteen. Punk Rock was an emerging music/youth movement. Young people were sooo energised and wanted to change the world. We didn’t particularly want to become suicide bombers but it got us interested in politics and it was a truly an exciting time.
My point..well..perhaps it highlights how and why young people of muslim parents have been so brainwashed into rejecting the free world and embracing the madness of a totalitarian one.
