Christians with Middle Eastern backgrounds in Denmark experience harassment, verbal attacks and in some cases direct violence from Muslims. TV2 News has been in contact with a number of Christians here in Denmark who tell of violent experiences.
Jojo was born in Denmark of Lebanese parents. She lived in Gellerupparken (a major Muslim area) until she was eight.
One day she sat in her car in Nørrebro (a Muslim-dominated area in Copenhagen). Seven young people with Arab background surrounded the car. One of them put his foot up on the hood and stared at her.
“Do you think I’m looking at you, you fucking ugly whore. Try to see what clothes you wear, bitch,” he said to Jojo, who dresses as Danish women do: shorts and a t-shirt in the summer.
Then he noticed the cross around her neck.
“Well, you have a cross on — then you are also a Christian fucking whore. Do you know what we do to people like you? Do you know what we do to people like you? You get stoned,” he screamed. …
The Danish police say that they do not get many reports about such matters, but they fear that such crimes are largely under-reported, because people do not dare to report the cases. …
TV2 News has also interviewed another woman who is persecuted for her Christian faith.
She wants to remain anonymous for fear of reprisals and because she and her son are being harassed on the block where they live. Living in that area as a single Christian mother without a Islamic scarf makes her stick out in an area with primarily Muslim families.
“My son is being called everything. I get called all sorts of things. Infidel. Filthy Christians. They tell me I ought to be stoned to death,” she says.
“My son was beaten at the bus stop. He was called pig, dirty potato (Muslim slang for Danes), and that ‘you and your mother should die.”’
She complained to the local estate office, which responded by inviting the group of children and young people for a meeting. One day they knocked on the door of the Christian woman’s home. Through the peephole she could see some of the children and young people and she thought they had come to say they were sorry, so she opened the door. But instead, two grown men pressed into her apartment.
“He called me a dirty Christian whore and an infidel. Then he pushed me into the apartment. He shook me and slapped my face.”
Both the woman of Iranian background and Jojo are now trying to move away from the areas where they live.
“I can not be in Nørrebro anymore,” says Jojo, who has decided to move to a shelter for her own protection.

I just meant, as Robert Spencer often points out, that “far” right is often used a pejorative, with implications of out-and-out Fascism.
And this is also applied—and used as a smear, against people who by no stretch of the word could be considered “far right”—people like Geert Wilders, who is a Leftist, and Ayaan Hirsi Ali, who is an African Feminist—just because they oppose Jihad.

You seem to confuse secularism with atheism. Atheism is simply not believing in a God – and I’m an Atheist. But Secularism is a method of government which maintains a separation between religion and politics – ie keeping religion out of politics, and politics out of religion – and I’m also a secularist. Secularism treats all religions equally. But the two are mutually exclusive – I also have Christian and Buddhist friends who are secularists.
Your First Amendment and our Section 116 guarantees secularism – which is the only way any government of a pluralistic society can operate fairly – with both ‘freedom of religion’ and ‘freedom from religion’. But unfortunately many people in this world – including Muslims (and the Religious Right in the US) – believe that their particular religion is the ‘one and only true faith’ – and also that it should control the government. Can you not see that by refuting secularism, you are unconsciously siding with the Muslims? Islamic republics are autocratic theocracies, where Secularism, Atheism, Christianity, and all any other religions or beliefs, are anathema.
I would be the first to admit that some Atheists and secularists are apologists for Islam, but so are many Christians. I agree that ‘Bleeding heart liberals’, who are almost always ignorant of the violent, supremacist, ideology of Islam, are the problem. These politically correct, cultural relativists, who are usually from the left of politics (but not always), seem to think that all religions are more or less the same. But as we know, nothing could be further from the truth.
While I believe all religion is bullshit, I’m not blind to the fact that Islam is an order of magnitude worse than any other religion ever devised by man. As has been pointed out by many of us over the years, Islam is a social, political, legal, financial and militaristic ideology hiding behind the ‘veil’ of a religion (pun intended). But many Atheists and secularists like myself are also vehemently anti-Islam, and have been called ‘racists’, ‘bigots’ or ‘Islamophobes’ for crtiticising Islam – in my case for opposing Muslim immigration.
My wake up call about the ‘religion of peace’ didn’t just occur with ‘9/11’, but 50 years ago, when I had many Muslims students down here in Oz. Some of them were also Christians, Buddhists, and even a few ex-Muslims (secretly of course – or possibly, they would have been killed), who told horrific stories of life back home under Muslim rule.
Please don’t tar us all with the same brush. Many of us are on your side – at least in the battle against Islam. And don’t fight Islam by trumpeting your own religious beliefs – or by denigrating others, who you will need as allies. That’s not the way to win friends and influence people. We all need each other in this fight.

The proper response would be for Denmark to stop Muslim immigration altogether, and bring in large numbers of Christian refugees from Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Pakistan, Indonesia and elsewhere. In general, the Danes could count on such people to respect Danish culture and assimilate.
If the Lebanese Christian woman’s story is true, then the young guys who were directing abuse at her should be permanently deported from Denmark (if they were born elsewhere), or, if they are Danish-born, have to spend at least 6 months to a year in prison, and be forced to pay fines and apologize to her.

I don’t think the Islamic hoodlums committing these crimes care whether the woman was a Christian from Lebanon or an ethnic Dane. It’s the fact that she wasn’t a Muslim, wasn’t Sharia compliant, and they want to flush all such people out of their territory. Certainly, this is true to a point, Tallulah. But we have seen Muslims throughout the West specially focus on bullying and oppressing Copts and other non-Muslims who originally hailed from Dar-al-Islam and lived under the Muslim heel.
I believe it is similar to the attitude among Muslims when it comes to conquering Dar-al-Harb—they want to take over *all* of the non-Muslim world, including places that were not even dreamt of in the days of the “Prophet”, like the US, Canada, and Australia—but they have a special desire to regain lands that had been conquered by Muslims in the past and regained by free Infidels—Israel, Greece, the Balkans, and Spain and Portugal.

Mirren, I don’t believe this is to be read as the “West” in the modern sense of culturally Occidental, but just to indicate west of the Indian subcontinent—which is what Arabia is, in the strictly geographical sense.

A recent evangelist at our church preached on Daniel 11. According to him the “King of the North” has been many different nations and systems through the ages, but now, at the end, the King of the North will be mainstream Christianity, the King of the South will be Islam.
When the South pushes against the North they will do something so nasty that the whole western world will go to war w/Islam to stop them once-and-for-all. But the north is corrupted by Satan and leads the now-united corrupt Christianity against those who AREN’T “True Christians”. This includes the truly non-violent who have God in their heart; Christian, Jain, Moslem, etc (see Romans 2:14-15). If the whole world starts rolling against Islam, watch out. Seems far fetched right now…

Muslims would turn every nation into another one of their wretched hives, they state this clearly. They start by taking your rights and freedom away because whatever you do is offensive to them. But here they are, thanks to multiculturalism and political correctness, taking your rights away. Our political leaders are so very concerned about offending these people. Specifically, how is a mosque a threat to the community within which it is built?
Every single mosque in the world, by definition, is modeled on the mosque of Muhammad in Medina in accordance with the Sunnah. The Sunnah interprets the Qur’an by reporting exhaustively on everything that Muhammad said, did, or consented to. Therefore, his Medina mosque, the first mosque, was a place where he gave judgments, where he decided who would be executed, where he instituted policy—domestic and military— where Jihad war strategies were designed. Consequently, it was a storage place for arms, a military training base, and was where troops were blessed and dispatched. Literally they were sent to conquer – first the whole of Arabia, and then the rest of the known world. Therefore if the present-day mosque is modeled as per the Sunnah of Muhammad then there should be very serious concern. As is well-known, Muslims are required to follow the example (Sunnah) of Muhammad—and according to Sura 33:36 it is not an option or a matter of opinion: “It is not for a believer, man or woman, when Allâh and His Messenger have decreed a matter that they should have any option in their decision. And whoever disobeys Allâh and His Messenger, he has indeed strayed in a plain error.” This explains and establishes beyond doubt why arms have been found in mosques in various countries, and in different capital cities.

Saudi Arabia AND AT LEAST ONE OF THE GULF STATES ( and, I believe, but am not sure) Kuwait, in the past few years have passed laws allowing the government (IE military or police) to enter ANY MOSQUE (in that country) and if weapons or bombs or ammunition (one gets the idea, I hope) are found– the Mosque is closed, and the Imams(?) (preachers in Christian terms) arrested.
However, in the US, we cannot do this. I do not know about Canada; Australia; nor any country in Europe.
BUT, why THE HELL, CAN’T WE?
I have never heard of a Catholic Church, a Protestant or Mormon Church, or a synagogue having or storing weapons, bombs, ammunition or the means to make bombs, etc.
Has anyone else-in the last, say 20 years? in a civilized country.

It is a form of insanity to permit Islam into the West. Every time in the past the intolerance resurfaced and lead to massive effort to rid the place of Islam. Sicily had a caliphate and so did Spain.
There was “cooperation” between Muslim and Christian until there was not, and when the intolerance–stoning, beheading–arose, the Westerners decided the Muslims had to go. The French did not allow them in at all back then.
People do not know their history so we can repeat our mistakes repeatedly, the often cited definition of insanity.

Mickey, Muslims didn’t come into Sicily and Spain—and Greece and the Balkans—as immigrants, but *as conquerers*.
Islam there was brutal from the very beginning—it just took years—centuries, in some cases—for the West to regroup, and begin to drive the Mohammedans out.
Since Muslims have come into the free West just like other, peaceful and compatible immigrants, many of those in the West have still not woken up to the savagery of Islam.
And it’s only likely to get worse, at least until we get a clue, because the larger the Muslim population, the more openly supremacist, bullying, and violent it becomes.

Spiritof1683- They don’t have to pass a new law. Most cases all they need to do is to apply the law already on the books ONLY WITH A DIFFERENT MORE BALANCED PERCEPTION. Most Islamists argue for exceptionalism not for equality. This is Islamist supremacism. Not really difficult to understand just need to get over fear.

to Aussieinfidel: The Far Right as I recall bases it zeal on the VALUES of Christianity which is why they can be argued with and points of contradiction can be made. Always wondered what the basis is for a morality of an atheist. All the atheists I knew in my younger years were Marxists of varying types. Their morality was based on “class struggle”. The “chairman of the central committee” was their icon and they had an inherent view of non ending social conflict.

Jim, there are many atheists and agnostics here, and very few of them are Marxists.
Most of them have a moral code very similar to the Judeo-Christian one—the only difference is that that don’t believe it has an ecclesiastical basis.

I was a little exceptional as my “far right” was American based. Atheists that I knew lacked a philosophical base. Some believed in some kind of “humanity”. But as I said their “religion” was a form of Marxist creed; their icon was the chairman of the central committee, their practice was whatever was the current “party line”. A belief in “humanity” begs a few questions. In simple broad terms one is a”materialist” or a “spiritualist” A scientific approach aka- Stephen Hawking begs an understanding of the nature of the mind. Philosophically speaking country or cultural heritage doesn’t matter the basic questions to be asked and understood are the same. As regards Islam: an intelligent, rational approach quickly reveals the authoritarian and oppressive nature of what is “revealed”.

Right on! I am an American liberal and hate Islam. I am a proud moderate liberal in almost everything except letting any more Muslims in this country. Islam is a vicious and hate filled ideology and religion. Just look at its history, a history filled with vicious hate and intolerance. I think their brains are fried because of all the inbreeding (most marry cousins). I am a PROUD ISLAMOPHOBIC! Everyone should be! Send them all back to the shit pens they came from!

I am also in the US, and the atheists I knew (in the past) and know now are not and were not Marxists.
They just did not believe in a Supreme Being.
Most were raised as Christians, (including Catholics).
They were/are just turned off by religion, etc.
Almost all (probably the same per-centage as believers) are moral, law abiding and peace loving. With the ” leave me alone, i will leave you alone” mentality. (I am a believer in a Supreme Being, but also just want to be left alone, and I will leave you alone).

Most important they are very affraid about being called rasist. And for that they give up any legal argument. I did witness a situation when a foreigner did something illegal and the dane that was in charge asked him to correct, but the emigrant said: “You just say that because I am not a dane” and than, the dane gave up and didn’t give him a fine and just walk away….

These European countries who were so foolish to let these people emigrate there should deport the troublemakers and not let them back into their countries. It is terrible how these people move into countries like Sweden, etc., take social welfare checks and then do violence and insist they are going to take the country over and establish Sharia law. It makes me sick. I say go back to your own dark country and government that you love so much. Democracy is not for people like this.

For years you have admitted and granted citizenship to millions of muslims without any concern about the ideology behind islam. At the same time you have forsaken Middle eastern Christians who suffered and still suffering from islamic persecution.
