Rouhani opposes al-Qaeda and the Islamic State because they are Sunni groups and he is a Shi’ite. But he would be fine with a Shi’ite jihad group that had global aspirations. Iran, after all, supports Hizballah. “Rouhani: extremists want to destroy civilization,” by Edith M. Lederer, Associated Press, September 25, 2014:
UNITED NATIONS — Iran’s president warned world leaders at the U.N. General Assembly on Thursday that the goal of extremists creating chaos in the Mideast is the destruction of civilization and rise of Islamophobia.
Hassan Rouhani said the Islamic terrorists want to create “a fertile ground for further intervention of foreign forces in our region.”
In a wide-ranging speech, he also said a nuclear agreement is possible before the November deadline if the West wants a deal and shows flexibility.
He said an agreement would create a new day for cooperation in the region and internationally, including on combating violence and extremism.
Rouhani said many parts of the Middle East “are currently burning in fire of extremism and radicalism” and expressed deep regret that terrorism has become globalized.
Terrorism is now a threat “from New York to Mosul, from Damascus to Baghdad, from the easternmost to the westernmost parts of the world, from al-Qaeda to Daesh,” the Iranian leader said, using the Arabic acronym for the Islamic State extremist group.
He said extremists come to the Middle East from around the world with a single ideology, “violence and extremism.”
“The extremists of the world have found each other and have put out the call: ‘extremists of the world unite,’ ” Rouhani said. “But are we united against the extremists?”
Rouhani said all countries that founded and supported the terrorist groups must acknowledge that their errors have led to extremism and apologize not only to the past generation but to the next generation.
He addressed the assembly as representatives from six major powers — the U.S., Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany — continued nuclear talks on the sidelines of the meeting of world leaders….

Iran has a deal with Obama: Iran helps against IS and the US let’s them have nuclear weapons. Obama is a politician: short victory is great, even if it means millions of people get killed later. There is nothing worse than a truly stupid politician, not even a truly evil politician. Obama is the perfect example.

Iranian lecturing the world on the globalization of terror and support for terror groups. Chutzpah. Maybe the Iranian South American cells can fight the IS cells alleged to be in northern Mexico. http://www.cnn.com/2013/06/03/world/americas/iran-latin-america/

now another leader points out(for all bad reason) that some countries supported isis and have to apologize.
more moral clarity from iranian regime than from president of free, democratic country.

It is curious how “extremism”, as defined by the UK’s “Prevent” strategy (a free download), neatly matches Islam itself. Perhaps they are related.

The words “Islam” and “civilisation” don’t belong in the same sentence.
A former Czech PM once referred to the Ummah (and his description covered both the Sunni and Shiite zones) as an “anti-civilisation”.
John Quincy Adams was on the mark, too, with “desolation and delusion”.
There was someone else who said that Islam produces “slums surrounded by deserts”.
And A Carlebach, a clear-headed Jewish Israeli, wrote in 1955 that “On the path of Islam, even the trees have died”.
Islam has blighted Persia, as it has blighted every other place it has ever entered.

Lebanon was once a beautiful country, christian, and an ally of Israel. Now, thanks to Iran and hisbollah it’s an islamic hellhole.
That’s the direction Europe and America are heading unless we recognize that every politician spouting the “religion of peace” line is speaking treason. It didn’t start with Obama, Bush couldn’t stop babbling about it.
The one thing we have going for us now is that the various sects of islam hate each other almost as much as they hate us.

It is hard to believe how stupid Congress, the president and his administration have become regarding world affairs. What do we need a CIA, FBI, HOMELAND SECURITY, PENTAGON, and numerous other agencies that can’t even make the connection of Islam & IS or Iran & Islam, or Islam & Muslim. All I can say is GOD help us and I don’t mean Allah.
