Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Jihadist says he joined Islamic State because “they’re fighting for Islam”

Sep 16, 2014 8:26 pm By Robert Spencer

Surely Obama, Kerry, Cameron, Abbott, and the rest are on their way over to Syria to find this chap and explain to him how he is misunderstanding Islam.

Video thanks to Paul.

That would be workable, if the only problem were our leaders. In fact, probably most of the people are besotted with PC MC. Don’t tell me your own friends, family and acquaintances are not largely PC MC about this problem.

** “Those found guilty get what they deserve. Massacres committed by the Syrian government are ignored, go but when ISIS massacres the infidels, everybody talks about it.”

I guess he didn’t see all of the news reports covering that.

** “He doesn’t act like an Islamic extremist.”

It’s difficult to understand how otherwise intelligent people can think that following one’s “Holy Book” as close to the letter as possible constitutes “extremism”. Is the amputation of a thief’s hand(s) extremism or compliance.

I have not personally heard anyone using that same illogical thinking refer to Catholic Popes as extremists.

**And then, of course, the interviewer claims that “Syria’s bloody civil war has radicalized him”.

What does it mean to be “radicalized”, and does she ever wonder that herself?

It’s difficult to understand how otherwise intelligent people can think that following one’s “Holy Book” as close to the letter as possible constitutes “extremism”. Is the amputation of a thief’s hand(s) extremism or compliance.

PRCS must not be aware of a quite common opinion in the West about the phenomenon of “fundies” and so-called “religious extremism”. (Note: I didn’t say this opinion is all that coherent or cogent; only that it is common. Many opinions of dubious merit float about in the cultural ether.)

There is a vague sense, according to this opinion, that Christians who take their Christianity seriously to the letter (and these are almost always presumed to be (and often are) of the Protestant orbit further refined as “evangelical” or “fundie”) are to some extent “extremist”. More broadly, this reflects the awareness that the modern West has undergone profound changes in its religious culture, whereby so much of the West’s traditional religiosity of its former centuries has become radically watered down and put through the complex blender of secularism — such that the majority of Christians seem to be rather “loosey goosey” (relaxed, casual, not so literally serious) about their religion. This vague standard then is superimposed upon the Islam problem, and we tend to construe those Muslims who insist upon a literal comportment as “extremists”, as we semi-consciously connect that with our own Baptist “snake-handlers” and Christians who speak in tongues, etc. There is afoot here a broad-based, semi-coherent assumption that most Muslims must be like us in psychology and culture, and must be following our standard of secularized dilution of Religion; and so, the “true Muslims” are assumed to be as casual and loosey-goosey as our majority Christians, and their culture, like ours, must have only a fringe, a Tiny Minority, of Extremists (never mind that our “extremists” don’t behead or advocate stoning or conduct terror attacks etc., though David Koresh and Timothy McVeigh and “abortion clinic bombers” are eternally erected as reminders of this false equivalency). The notion that the majority (even the vast majority) of Muslims are in fact extremists, that extremism as we define it is the norm in the Muslim world — this notion remains simply unthinkable to most Westerners, who blithely and unthinkingly assume that the standard of humanity is the Homo Occidentalis.

        Hesp,

Why do you ASSUME that I must not be familiar with the the term “fundies”?

If you’d like to visit a site where it is used to obvious excess, whenever Islam comes up, try NewsHounds.

        My concern remains:

It’s difficult to understand how otherwise intelligent people can think that following one’s “Holy Book” as close to the letter as possible constitutes “extremism”.

        I’m perplexed by their credulity.

          PRCS wrote to me:

But I had written to him:

PRCS must not be aware of a quite common opinion in the West about the phenomenon of “fundies”…

It’s clear from my words (the very words PRCS was responding to) that I wasn’t assuming that PRCS is unfamiliar with the term “fundies” — but rather that he seems unaware of the quite common opinion in the West ABOUT fundies.

The West is a large place. Since you seem to know about West regards fundies can you break it by country and group? What do people in Italy think of fundies, and what are its main religious fundamentalist groups? Same for Germany, UK, Holland, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Spain, Portugal, Luxembourg and Malta for starters – what is the opinion in each of those countries regarding fundies and what are their religious fundamentalist groups?

        Sep 18, 2014 at 5:50 am

I am happy to be a Christian extremist. When a Christian goes “extreme”, he gets involved with some charity. When a Muslim goes “extreme”, he wants to kill people. Come to think of it, a Muslim who goes “extreme” is a bit like those who want to “take charge of our own evolution” and are in a hurry about it. I’m old enough to remember revolutionary chic and the wilder expressions of the New Left. It’s all about what kind of religion one gets “extreme” over.

As for a guy like David Koresh, I’m sorry, but those of us who take Jesus’ claims to be God incarnate and God’s last word to man think that anyone else who claims such a thing is a blasphemer whom God will punish severely. The MSM simply doesn’t get it.

Excellent point, Kepha, and one which witless moral equivalencers choose to ignore.

How many backsliding Christians, or those who rejected Christianity, and then come back to it, decide the first thing they need to do to show their zeal, is to go out and murder non-Christians ? Why, **none**. Because the tenets of Christianity forbid such a thing.

As you note, it all depends upon what kind of religion one gets extreme over. islam is unmitigated filth, violence, murder and mayhem. Naturally its pious adherents will follow its mandates.

So then, we know that one of these Allah’s Attributes is ‘unknowable’
Let him count his beads to find the answer to Islam’s mystery.

What is Allah’s one hundredth name if it is claimed that,
“There are ninety-nine Attributes, one hundred minus one, of Allah”

100 minus 1 means one name is missing.
Does the spelling in English of missing name begin with an ‘S’ and end with an ‘N’ and have five letters same as Allah?
What could Muhammad’s missing satanic verse book name for Allah be?

    Quotes:

“Do you think that those two American journalists deserved to die?

No one gets killed unless they’re guilty. They must had done something wrong. Otherwise, why would they have been beheaded.”

Using that logic, when the Assad government massacres his ISIS buddies, did they deserved to die?

No one gets killed unless they’re guilty. They must had done something wrong. Otherwise, why would they have been massacred.

Something must have been lost in the translation because this sounds to me as circular thinking.

“No one gets killed unless they’re guilty. They must had done something wrong. Otherwise, why would they have been massacred.”

That may be true under the same cultures. But the two cultures, civil and savage are total opposites. The only thing similar is our means of breathing.

Islam’s Sharia Law is lethal to most humans. And would be punishable under a civil society. Sharia Law considers all kafirs profoundly evil adversary’s of Allah, (Islam’s God), Muhammad, and humanity, whom must be killed or become Muslim. So naturally a Muslim would think we (kafir’s) are all evil enemies to Muslims. And nothing we do is ever going to change their hatred for us. “We are wrong for not being Muslim, plain and simple”.

    • mortimer says

Basically, you are correct. If you are not a Muslim, you do not deserve to live. Paying the extortion tax allows you to continue living while thinking over your option of joining Islam. Most ‘others’ joined Islam from other religions to avoid the systemic discrimination in Islamic societies, rather than from belief in Islam.

    • Jay Boo says

      Sep 17, 2014 at 7:21 am

      Small technicality here:
Muslims are actually not of a separate species of subhuman beings.
Calling Muslims a subhuman species allows people at CAIR to make a false claim that all anti-jihad supporters who are disgusted with Islam are simply against Islam based on bigoted racial stereotypes.

      Islam is not a race
      Islam is a disgrace

      • voegelinian says

Muslims consider themselves to be something tantamount to a separate species; a conceit as un-biological — yet just as psychological, ideologically and sociologically compelling — as the Nazi theory of a “Master Race”.

FIGHTING TO SUBJUGATE DISBELIEVERS IS NOT ISLAMIC! (…uninformed opinion of Sec. Kerry)

BUT…The Koran commands Muslims to fight ALL disbelievers until they are subjugated and humiliated:

“Fight those who believe not in God nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by God and His Apostle, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.” – K. 9:29

Mohammed said: “I have been ordered (by Allah) to FIGHT against the people until they testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that Muhammad is Allah’s Apostle.” – Bukhari 1.2.24

Therefore, Mr. Kerry is wrong. Fighting disbelievers to subjugate them IS ISLAMIC. ISIS practices REAL ISLAM.

Genesis 16: 7 The angel of the Lord found Hagar near a spring in the desert; it was the spring that is beside the road to Shur. 8 And he said, “Hagar, slave of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going?”

“I’m running away from my mistress Sarai,” she answered.

9 Then the angel of the Lord told her, “Go back to your mistress and submit to her.” 10 The angel added, “I will increase your descendants so much that they will be too numerous to count.”

11 The angel of the Lord also said to her:

    “You are now pregnant
and you will give birth to a son.
    You shall name him Ishmael,[a]
for the Lord has heard of your misery.
    12 He will be a wild donkey of a man;
his hand will be against everyone
    and everyone’s hand against him,
and he will live in hostility
    toward[b] all his brothers.”

Ralph, Christian Arabs are not “wild donkeys”, while non-Arab Muslims are.

Muslims are not savages because they are condemned by God to be so—they are savages because they follow a vicious ideology.

ISIS hold 46 Turkish prisoners, has at least a thousand Turkish fighters & now Ankara wants the military to create a “buffer zone”.

At what point will people get it, that ISIS is an organic political, theological, and military movement for Sunni Muslims. It most accurately represents true Islam, as admitted by the interviewee. It’s not really an opinion, it’s Islam, and for Muslims nobody can actually counter what ISIS does theologically, or what it’s goals and methods are versus the actions, deeds, and desires of their Prophet.

I wonder if the Turkish military will be able to stop this mind Muslim mind Ebola from spreading? This will spread to Anatolia soon enough I think, it’s like an Islamic WWZ, Islamozombie invasion.
