Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Kerry: “The real face of Islam is a peaceful religion based on the dignity of all human beings”

Sep 3, 2014 10:56 pm By Robert Spencer

The dignity of all human beings? Kerry ignores the fact that the hadith he cites is restricted to Muslim treatment of other Muslims, per the command of the Qur’an itself: “Muhammad is the apostle of Allah. Those who follow him are merciful to one another, but harsh to the unbelievers” (48:29). The sharp dichotomy between Muslims and non-Muslims runs through all of Islamic theology and law. Islamic law even mandates lesser penalties for those who kill a non-Muslim than for those who kill a Muslim. The Shafi’i Sharia manual ‘Umdat al-Salik dictates: “The indemnity for the death or injury of a woman is one-half the indemnity paid for a man. The indemnity paid for a Jew or Christian is one-third the indemnity paid for a Muslim. The indemnity paid for a Zoroastrian is one-fifteenth that of a Muslim.” (o4.9)

The dignity of all human beings? Maybe, but not the equal dignity.

“Kerry: ‘The Real Face Of Islam Is A Peaceful Religion’ [VIDEO],” by Brendan Bordelon, The Daily Caller, September 3, 2014:

Secretary of State John Kerry took pains to separate the brutal Islamic terror organization ISIS from its broader religious affiliation on Wednesday, taking time out from a statement on beheaded journalist Steven Sotloff to claim that “the real face of Islam is a peaceful religion.”

Kerry spoke to a largely-Islamic audience at the State Department Wednesday, which had assembled to recognize State’s new “special representative for Muslim communities,” Shaarik Zafar. But the planned event was overshadowed by the brutal beheading of Sotloff by ISIS fighters in Iraq, pushing the secretary to again publicly condemn the group.

“Those who have murdered James Foley and Steven Sotloff in Syria need to know that the United States will hold them accountable, no matter how long it takes,” he warned in his speech.

“But here today, what is really important — and I want to take advantage of this podium and of this moment, to underscore as powerfully as I know how — that the face of Islam is not the butchers who killed Steven Sotloff,” he continued, to immediate applause. “That’s [ISIS].”

“The face of Islam is not the nihilists who know only how to destroy, not to build,” Kerry went on. “It’s not masked cowards whose actions are an ugly insult to the peaceful religion that they violate every single day with their barbarity, and whose fundamental principles they insult with their actions.”

“The real face of Islam is a peaceful religion based on the dignity of all human beings,” the secretary asserted. “It’s one where Muslim communities are leading the fight against poverty. It’s one where Muslim communities are providing basic health care and emergency assistance on the frontlines of some of our most devastating humanitarian crises.”

President George W. Bush often explained to the American people that Islam was a peaceful religion, claiming “Islam is peace” five days after the September 11, 2001 attacks. He still felt compelled to make that assertion at the end of his term, following nearly eight years of war against Islamic terrorism.

President Barack Obama has also felt it necessary to educate Americans on Islam’s peaceful nature. “The religion teaches peace, justice, fairness and tolerance,” he said in 2010. “All of us recognise that this great religion cannot justify violence.” And in July 2014 he declared that Islam shares “the values of peace” with other religions and cultures.

Quranic proscribed violence towards Non-Believers is found throughout the Quran, has never been abrogated and remains THE Priority of Islamic-Jihadist.
Islamist do not care a rats ass how much we discuss the “Religion of Peace”,

I agree. Also sura. 2.106…the doctrine of Abrogration…wipes out all the so called “tolerant” verses when Mohammad was in Mecca..all that is left are the intolerant verses which make up the bulk of the Koran..
obviously Kerry is too busy windsurfing to read what the enemy studied every day…Why learn about your enemy when you can go windsurfing?

An infuriating little speech, highlighting gobbledygook and put-on serious face.

Here’s what I tell friends who are stubbornly ignorant of the reality of Islam and who are simply not familiar with Qur’an, when they tell me they’ve got muslim friends who are completely peaceful. I don’t argue with them; I just say: Your peaceful, virtuous muslim friends don’t interest me; that’s not who I’m talking about. They are not the ones we need to pay attention to. The ones we need to know, observe, talk about and respond to are the ones openly or secretly committed to destroying Western culture and dominating Western people, who are chopping off heads, recruiting terrorists from our prisons and neighborhoods and training them to hate and kill us, murdering people as street spectacle, installing Sharia law and infiltrating Western governments. Wouldn’t you agree (I tell them) they need watching?

My friends’ response to the above is usually a variation of “humadahumadahumada”, but I hope they think later about those whom I might call the “important” muslims.

John Kerry’s argument is almost semantic…He is NOT addressing the “important” muslims, but people like my friends’ friends who, realistically, rarely enter a mosque of any description, probably are not students of the Qur’an, are secular and thereby irrelevant to a discussion of jihad and the global caliphate. Many of these people fled from Iran when the ayatollah took over from the Shah and have good reason to keep their mouths shut, rather than raise a “moderate’s” objection to terrorism. I’d bet these muslims are familiar with the Qur’an’s prescribed treatment of apostates. They have a reason to shut up and act passively: terror. And, of course, passivity of this sort to avoid expressing doubts or criticism of Islam is characteristic of the religion Kerry talks about. What a phony piece of work this weak, lying, propaganda-hyping Secretary of State is.

“Muslim communities are leading the fight against poverty.”

‘The Real Face Of Islam Is A Peaceful Religion’ Fool, you forgot to add: Who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes?

There seems to be no limit to the foolishness, absurdities and downright lies that this Judas is prepared to utter.

Name the Muslim countries that are signatories to the International Refugee Convention.
Two populous ones are not – Indonesia and Malaysia, yet they facilitate Muslim refugees to transit through their countries and onto the boats and then to Australia.
They then have the unmitigated gall to say that Australia will face sanctions if it deploys its forces to turn the refugee boats back to Indonesia.
This is a good time to refresh Robert’s ‘What the President should have said at Cairo U’ speech, which is in the archives somewhere.

There are only 24 hours in a day. A large part of most people’s day is spent on sleeping, eating, working (or studying for a degree), and other routine stuff. Politicians usually spend years on building their career. They are all clueless about most things, especially about things far away from what immediately affects their political careers. The job of visible politicians is to pretend they know everything about everything when they actually don’t know much about anything. Being involved in politics also means taking part in a lot of social events and hobnobbing, so there’s another drain on their time. Once they have their careers where they want, they’re probably content to rest on their laurels and not put effort into somethng that won’t profit them personally.

It’s just unavoidable reality. There is only so much you can know about so many things, so every single person is ignorant about more stuff than they are knowledgeable about other stuff. Most politicians will never have read a book about Islam. Even those who have read the Qur’an probably don’t really understand the consequences of its teachings.

In any case, not having enough time to study everything ourselves is why we go to experts for information. The experts have studied their subject thoroughly and should hence be able to give us the information we need. The problem with Islam is that the supposed experts on Islam are peddling fantasies that have little to do with the reality of Islam.

  5. Wellington says

    Sep 4, 2014 at 12:12 am

Islam is not the main problem. It is the secondary problem. The main problem is continued exculpation of Islam by Western elites like John Kerry. Why Western elites continue to engage in this foolishness is something reasonable minds can differ about, but that it is foolishness of the highest order is no longer debatable.

Kerry’s sound-bite below is totally a meaningless diversion to cover up his groveling to Islam.

Kerry should be rubbing Islam’s nose in this butchery before the world of public opinion.

You know, these Obama cronies must have a prepared book of what to say and when with regards to Islam. One put together by a professional who knows the game and prepared it as the only source to reference when preparing speaches of giving “off the cuff” soundbytes. There is no way in hell that Kerry has read the Koran. Certainly he has never taken any time to educate himself in a more pleasant and readable way with Spencer’s excellent fully referenced and supported and completely unassailable works on the subject.

Nope, these people have a Muslim apologists’ book of some kind. Like a Mao’s Little Red Book but for Islamic deception (mostly Kitman style lying, occasionally Taqiyya).

Unfortunately, Kerry’s Pollyanna analysis is what most non-Muslim people want to hear, but what’s popular is not always what’s correct. ISIS is popular with Muslims, but at least they understand Islam correctly. When ISIS people describe non-Muslims as ruthless persecutors of Muslims, what they say is popular with Muslims, but it is not correct, because then they make the same mistake Kerry makes of projecting their own aggressive outlook onto non-Muslims. The Mirror Image Fallacy is universal.

Either a moron, or a liar to the American people and the world. Probably the latter. The strategy of the political leadership is: “Well, maybe ISIS is Islam, maybe it isn’t. But we can’t go to war with the whole of Islam or declare Islam itself the enemy. So we’ll just have to attack the violent ones and label them hijackers.”

I was talking yesterday to a very foolish but very nice leftish woman, who knew nothing about Islam but was (very kindly) arguing with me about the Israel/Palestinian conflict. She was mildly resistant and mildly open to all the things I was pointing out to her about Islam, but her final comment, which I think was rather typical of those on the Left, was, “well, what do you propose to do, if all that is true? What is the solution?” The implication seemed to be that, because the truth puts us into a very difficult spot, we should not acknowledge the truth. I think we have all seen this implication made among the leftish folks. I replied that “what to do” is a good question, but we need to start by facing reality.

It’s a pity that the work of changing people’s minds about this stuff is so tricky. Here’s an excellent source on the art of persuasion, particularly about the issue of Islam:

    Here is ultimate proof: http://www.thereligionofpeace.com

al-illah (aka allah) is a cruel and blood thirsty moon idol and one of the 360 pagan deities in pre-islamic era of Mecca.
Almost 1,400 years of hate, violence and terror is the result of this cult of death and murder. What else should be expected when the false prophet and inventor of this satanic ideology was a relentless mass murderer, child molester and slave handler himself?!

  32. Jack R. Maxwell says

    Sep 10, 2014 at 4:15 pm

Claiming all religions are basically the same is like saying all forms of animal life are the same whether a mosquito or elephant. The human sacrifice religion of the Aztecs was obviously different than Christianity.
Those who claim evil has been done by all religions is also false. Hitler had “God is with us” on the belt buckles of his soldiers. Does anyone seriously believe he secretly worshipped a Jew named Jesus? Yes, people were burned at the stake, but was this Christianity or people using Christianity to carry out their own ends. What counts are the actual beliefs. Islam in its text calls for violence, intolerance and oppression. While the Judeo-Christian Bible has some violent passages in the Old Testament they are in response to particular circumstances, not a general proscription for behavior. For instance, when God ordered Joshua to kill the Canaanites it was because they exterminating the entire Hebrew people through sexual practices. There were only about 120,000 Hebrews and since they had come into contact with the Canaanites about 2/3rds of their of age males had already been infected with venereal disease through sexual relations with them. The Canaanites were infected, men, women, boys and girls through perverted sex. All except virgin girls. As a people they were hopelessly enslaved to their desires and appetites. God said none of their thought were righteous. So God ordered all slain, except virgin girls to assure the Hebrews would survive. It should be also noted, God said all those contaminated with blood on their clothing and weapons had to stay out of camps and in the hot, dry desert for two weeks. Long enough for any viruses to be killed though exposure. So this bloody event was done against a particular people for a particular reason. Not so with Islam, were its bloody edicts apply to all.
