McCain predicted nothing. There is a strong possibility that in his famous photo with the “moderate Syrian rebels,” he was posing with allies of the Islamic State. Now that there is abundant evidence that the Free Syrian Army is anything but “moderate,” he presses on with his delusions.
“McCain: ISIS’ rise like ‘watching a train wreck,'” by Jeremy Diamond, CNN, September 29, 2014:
Washington (CNN) — Sen. John McCain slammed President Barack Obama on Monday over his comments that U.S. intelligence underestimated ISIS.
McCain countered Obama’s assertions made on CBS’ “60 Minutes,” saying that ISIS’ expansion in Syria and Iraq was tied to the President’s decision not to leave a residual U.S. military force in Iraq and his refusal to arm moderate Syrian rebels last year despite urgings from his national security advisers.
“We predicted this and watched it,” McCain said on CNN’s “New Day.” “It was like watching a train wreck and warning every step of the way that this was happening.”
In the “60 Minutes” interview that aired Sunday, Obama admitted that a chaotic Syria became “ground zero for jihadists around the world” and that the United States also underestimated the strength of Iraqi security forces….

McCain needs to shut-up. He knows nothing about Islam. I remember back in ’08 or so when he declared, “I admire the Islam. There’s a lot of good stuff in it.”
Bradamante says
His patheticness is mind-blowing. Despite being a lifelong Democrat, now that I understand the jihadist threat, I’m 100% willing to vote GOP, *if* the GOP runs people who have a clue — or at the least, people who aren’t as bogglingly clueless as this guy.

Hello Bradamante — from another lifelong Dem (yours truly) . . .
I mentioned in a post some weeks ago that there may be a big surprise in the presidential contender field. But due to an abundance of political saboteurs in such high-stakes affairs, I cannot even mention which party — D / R / I / Whig.
Uh, kidding about the last one; yet, hey, those fellows are overdue for a resurgence, and they dressed really sharp — velvet suits with hand knotted neckware ! ! No cargo shorts allowed.
If the candidacy announcement happens, I will let all of you counter-jihadists here know — plus accepting a virtual pat on the back for being one of many leprechauns who set the process into motion.
That is, of course, if by that time 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is not the scene of an Allah’s Army frat party..
mortimer says
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is the home of disinformation about jihad.
Obama’s ‘Islam party’ is costing billions of dollars and thousands of lives.
Bradamante says
I’d love to hear something surprising about presidential contenders. The only thing I know so far is that I will not vote for Hillary Clinton, ever. (That may not be an unusual thing to hear from people who frequent *this* site, but it isn’t what most people expect to hear from a lifelong Dem. I know quite a few Democrats who feel revulsion for her, though.) She made me ill even before I knew about the issue we’re all concerned about here.

Hi, Bradamante.
I know very little about American politics, but my dilemma is very similar to yours.
In the UK, the nearest similarity to the Democrats would, I suppose, be the Labour Party ; the Republicans would perhaps be similar to our Conservative Party.
I’ve never voted Labour, except once, when I was very young. What difference is there between Labour and Conservative ? Nothing. Which is why I’ll be voting UKIP in the next election. Do you have a third choice in the US ?
Bradamante says
In the US, only 2 parties have a chance of winning any significant office. Though I suppose if things get crazy enough, eventually one of the parties may split into two, but basically, third parties have no chance in US politics. Worse, the two major parties are both thoroughly compromised by the Islamists. But at least the Republican Party includes *some* individuals who tell the truth about the threat. Then RINOs like McCain excoriate them and all the Democrats pile on.
If I were a UK citizen, I’d vote for UKIP or LibertyGB, though I suppose the latter is too tiny to have any chance. I watched a video of Paul Weston saying that David Cameron is sick and I agreed wholeheartedly.

Speaking of IS, we could be seeing the beginning of a genocide of hundreds of thousands of Shia and hostage crises unprecedented in modern times. How many Americans and other foreigners are in Baghdad? Tens of thousands?
IS is less than a ten minute tank drive from Baghdad, apparently ringing the city from the north-northwest to south-southwest. Those are mainly Sunni neighborhoods I believe so potentially friendly to IS.
Quote:
Fierce fighting has been reported on the outskirts of Baghdad where ISIS militants are attempting to seize control of the Iraqi capital – despite ongoing Western airstrikes against the terror group.
The fighting is taking place just one mile to the west of the city, with government forces desperately trying to hold off the militants, who allegedly killed up to 1,000 soldiers during clashes yesterday.

Michael Copeland says
When may “clashes” be allowed to be battles? Just wondering.
Beagle says
The largest amphibious ‘clash’ in history, D-Day at Normandy, recently was refigured upwards to have produced 4,000 and change Allied killed on June 6, 1944. Barbarossa killed about 170,000 Germans from June to December of 1941.
A thousand killed on one side in a single day is a major battle comparable to a world war.

Old Johnny McCain lost all credibility and respect — from anybody with a brain — way, way back when he showed up on stage and introduced the Alaskan hairdresser as his vice presidential running mate. Since then, he has ZERO credibility, and he proves it endlessly. This is only the latest bunch of nonsense out of that chowderhead. This is nothing new. The only other high profile politician who can top him in idiotic statements is John Kerry. And that’s because George the Idiot Bush has done his best to slither under a rock after his disasterous fiasco of a presidency.
jihad3tracker says
Thanks for reminding me of that political farce.
Michael Copeland says
The person mostly obscured behind McCain is Al-Baghdadi, the Caliph of Islamic State (according to Bare Naked Islam).

Huge “thank you” for this link, sujith.
I send it in a separate e-mail to Spencer — this pictorial evidence and Bare Naked Islam’s excellent coverage are too important to overlook.
Don McKellar says
It’s an interesting theory, certainly. If only somebody would apply some law enforcement grade facial recognition technology to those pics (in the highest resolution they can be found) and those of the Caliph. If a compelling case could be made, it would be DEVASTATING to McCain, and he may have to resign in disgrace and then we wouldn’t have to here his garbage anymore.
Gart says
So is the man to the left of Sen McCain Abu Musa, press officer fo Isis as seen in Vice News?

McCain knows nothing about Islam and wouldn’t recognize a jihadist.

The Insane McCain. Enthusiastically cheerleading the war on the Serb Christians, gushingly calling the jihadis in Libya and Syria “his heroes”, and constantly itching for a fight with Russia.
Bezelel says
Thanks, I was trying to discern how far to go back to examine the pattern. I was unaware that McCain was in favor of Clinton’s murder of Christians in Serbia. I really wasn’t paying attention back then. When he started pushing to overthrow Kadafi was when my wishful thinking about McCain was overridden by facts. I was under the impression that we had a treaty with Kadafi as per his agreement to abstain from nukes. He had nothing to do with 9/11 and most of the Libyans complaining about his oppression were alqaida. The whole arab spring has been as I expected even though the enemedia promoted it as democracy breaking out in the ME. I don’t believe democracy is a good idea in an insane asylum.

These militants are not just evil, murderous, psychopaths taking advantage of a bad situation.
No, they are the epitome of Islamic holy men merely obeying their books to the letter.
Islam is NOT a Religion of Peace
Islam IS a religion of war
And sadly, it is working out well for them, and terribly for the rest of the world

McCain sounds like Denethor in Return of the King and Gandalf’s reply is apt: And did nothing.
