Pamela Geller zeroes in on what is outrageous, inflammatory and wrong about de Blasio’s statement: “The Mayor has bigger fish to fry. The Islamic State and al Qaeda have recently vowed to attack this city. They issued a fatwa. They called for Muslims in America, ‘lone wolves,’ to attack the city. They printed instructions in their glossy magazine. And when the future caliph was released from a U.S. detention center in Iraq, he warned his former captors, ‘I’ll see you in New York.’ Why isn’t Mayor de Blasio talking tough to the jihadists instead of to the defenders of freedom? He called our ads ‘intolerant’? Beheadings are intolerant. Ethnic cleansing of non-Muslims and religious minorities under the Sharia is intolerant. Islamic Jew-hatred is intolerant. Honor killings and clitoridectomies are intolerant. De Blasio’s attack on free speech is intolerant.”
His statement comes as no surprise, however, as de Blasio assured New Yorkers he would render them less safe by ending a perfectly legal surveillance program in Muslim communities. He is a friend and associate of the hate-filled Linda Sarsour (pictured), who used the Islamic honor murder of Shaima Alawadi to spread lies about the prevalence of hate crimes against Muslims in America. Sarsour is rabidly antisemitic (and, of course, a darling of the Leftist media), and has said that “nothing is creepier than Zionism” and has equated it with “racism.” She is, unsurprisingly, a frequent visitor to the Obama White House, and has claimed that the jihad underwear bomber was a CIA agent — part of what she claims is a U.S. war against Islam. Most recently, she is cynically using a mentally ill man to further her fictional narrative about Muslims being the frequent targets of “Islamophobic hate crimes.”
Help us counter the propaganda of far-Leftists like de Blasio and Islamic supremacists like Sarsour with the truth nationwide — contribute here.
“EXCLUSIVE: Mayor de Blasio blasts anti-Islamic ad campaign as ‘outrageous,'” by Jennifer Fermino, New York Daily News, September 19, 2014:
Calling them “outrageous, inflammatory and wrong,” Mayor de Blasio on Friday blasted an incendiary new ad campaign that bashes aspects of Islam.
One of the ads, which will appear on 100 buses and at two subway entrances, includes an image of American journalist James Foley just before he was beheaded.
In a statement to the Daily News, de Blasio said the ads had “no place in New York City, or anywhere.”
“These hateful messages serve only to divide and stigmatize when we should be coming together as one city,” de Blasio said.
“While those behind these ads only display their irresponsible intolerance, the rest of us who may be forced to view them can take comfort in the knowledge that we share a better, loftier and nobler view of humanity.”
Controversial conservative blogger Pamela Geller is bankrolling the ad blitz, at a cost of $100,000. In an interview, she called it an “education campaign” to highlight the dangers of jihadist ideology. She insisted that she isn’t anti-Islam.
“Doesn’t Mayor de Blasio have bigger fish to fry?” she said when told about the mayor’s comments. “New York is the softest terror target.”
She added, “Let him start talking tough against the jihadists, and not those defending freedom.”
As the Daily News reported, the ads will start running on 100 city buses and outside two subway stations — 59th Street on the Lexington Avenue line and Columbus Circle — on Monday.
The Foley ad features a picture of him handcuffed and on his knees in front of his executioner.
A second picture in the ad shows the London resident who is suspected of being Foley’s killer. The two images are under the headline, “Yesterday’s moderate is today’s headline.”
The MTA says it has no choice but to run the ads because of court rulings upholding the First Amendment rights of advertisers to use “demeaning language.”
Meanwhile, on late Friday the agency announced it had rejected an earlier Geller ad.
The ad featured a picture of a man with his face masked in a Middle Eastern scarf next to the quote, “Killing Jews is worship that draws us close to Allah.” The quote was attributed to “Hamas MTV” and included the tagline, “That’s His Jihad. What’s yours?”
It was a spoof of an ad campaign from the council on American-Islamic Relations, which sought to reclaim the word jihad from its terror associations. The CAIR ads never ran in New York.
In a statement, the MTA said it rejected the ad because it was “reasonably foreseeable” it would “imminently incite or provoke violence or other immediate breach of the peace, and so harm, disrupt, or interfere with safe, efficient, and orderly transportation operations.”
In other words, “We’re allowing Islamic jihad terrorists to dictate what can and cannot be said.”
Geller told the News she will sue to get that ad up.

silly Billy de Blasio should go live in Aceh province of Indonesia for one year now that ALL nonmsulims must follow sharia law, and report back on how he likes it!
Jaladhi says
Maybe he should be a mayor or CM of Aceh district and follow sharia to set an examples to all those non-Muslim who resent it!! He won’t last a day following sharia. LOL..

I detest Dhimmi De Blasio as much as I detest Blair and Cameron. De Blasio may as well be hugging Hitler in the photo above.

For forty years DeBlasio( formerly Wilhelm) has enthusiastically supported everything Sandanista. Two foundational principles of the Sandanistas are the burning of Synagogues and the ethnic cleansing of the Jews of Nicaragua. So of course Deblasio aka Wilhelm opposes Pamela Geller and supports the foundational antisemitism of Islam.

He has changed his name three times but not for nefarious reasons. He legally changed his name which was his prerogative.
I am not a fan of his and am startled that he won the vote but I will give him a chance. He might yet live and learn.

Now we can safely say all liberal lefties are brain dead!! They have no capacity to distinguish between right and wrong, good and evil, moral and immoral, kindness and cruelty, truth and lies,..

In order for de Blasio to conclude what he has, he must assume that Islam is something good and that those repressing, maiming and killing in the name of Islam are, well, you know the old line, a small minority of extremists, which any religion can produce of course and, oh what a shame that such a fine religion as Islam has been temporarily hijacked, blah, blah, blah…, and, too, what a shame it is that bigots, yes those nasty Islamophobes, are saying things which are inflammatory and, as all unbigoted people know, not true about Islam, blah, blah, blah…..
Yes, this is the gigantic fiction, the enormous ignorant mush, that people like de Blasio, Blair, Kerry, Cameron, Pope Francis, et al. must accept in order for them to spout the irresponsible nonsense that they do. Such people function in a dream world, a dream world made dangerous because these people have influence and power. This is the reality that those who know Islam for what it truly is must deal with.
It’s a dual menace: 1) Islam; and 2) clueless dhimmi enablers of Islam. Damn them both.
Rob says
Thats exactly right Wellington! By their actions, the rest of our dhimmi population is, in effect, forcing us to carry the weight of our knowledge of islam, all the while hammering us for knowing this and trying to share our knowledge. My music video below attempts to address this madness. It’s called ‘Nothing to do with islam’. Through expression, the madness is more tolerable.
mortimer says
De Blasio, Blair, Kerry, Cameron, Pope Francis, et al. are all singing from the Saudi hymnbook…but the Saudis were as violent as ISIS at the onset!
Now they are an old, established Sharia dictatorship and don’t use the same degree of savagery. Saudis now commit their savagery more smoothly than ISIS.
Iran, KSA and ISIS are peas in a pod.

Thanks Wellington! Since you’re my favorite poster on jihad watch, it means a lot to me. With regards to the blank space at the end, I’m aware of it and tried to fix it but couldn’t figure out how to erase it, so I just left it. I’m still learning how to put my music on to You Tube with images and that is an example of my ongoing learning process. Thanks again!
Everett Wilson says
He’s asking you to take note that most Muslims are not members of Islamic State, they don’t attack or behead anyone, and they make successful and law abiding citizens of Western democracies. Most of us know some by now, here in the West. Do most of us know any jihadists? Of course not. Condemning the evils, and criticizing the dangers, of those who are evil and dangerous, is acceptable, though it seems a little superfluous – everybody knows evil when they see it. It’s the appearance of blanket condemnation of a whole religion, and all its adherents, that strikes the mayor as intolerant, unhelpful, un-American.
medina says
You are another failed dot connector. “Most” Muslims believe in Al’lah, the Qu’ran, and emulate Muhamed. The vast majority here provide cover for those who wish to harm us. They also push back after attacks such as those at Ft. Hood and the Boston Marathon with the same soppy argument. Everywhere Muslims are concentrated provides an example of crime and poverty, not adherance to laws or success by any means. (Think Paterson, NJ, Dearborn, MI, and the slums of Minneapolis where the food pantries are in trouble for stocking pork and beans.) Apparently “everybody” doesn’t know evil when they see it.

It would be too easy to produced a similar list, referencing germans during second world war, and the years leading up to it. It would be just as worthless.
Wellington says
Absolutely spot on, Western Canadian. I have to laugh (cry?) when fools aplenty assert that some ideology or organization is not evil because most of the adherents to the ideology or organization in question are themselves law-abiding citizens. Hell, you could say this of most KKK members or Aryan Nation loons or, as you referenced, Nazi Party members during the 1930s and 40s.
It’s instructive to take note of the lengths some will go to exculpate the only major religion which is also a totalitarian political ideology. It would be funny (well, sometimes it still is) if it weren’t so damn dangererously stupid and consistently lethal.
Angemon says

Or one could say there’s nothing wrong about driving while intoxicated because most drunk drivers don’t end up killing anyone – from my personal experience, that’s the analogy that gets the most people thinking.

Pamela already knows what Blasio is made of and his behavior is no shocker. The really sad thing is that people actually voted for him and believe what he says. NY of all places should be well informed about jihad.
devonoagon says
This is exactly what he ran on. He said he was going to end stop and frisk and he would stop the monitoring of mosques so his refusal of the AFDI ads are just par for him. Sadly, my fellow New Yorkers voted for this, and you reap what you sow.
mortimer says
Di Blasio is making New York City less safe by undermining the policing powers and training!
When the jihadists commit atrocities in NYC, Di Blasio will dodge his responsibility and try to blame ‘Islamophobia’ for the teachings of the Koran and Hadiths of warfare against disbelievers.
Everett Wilson says
The mayor is simply pointing out that not all Muslims are jihadists. Most of them just want to get on with life like the rest of us, with no trouble. Condemning the evils and dangers of the evil and the dangerous is fine, but tarring an entire ideology with the same brush isn’t fair. Campaigning to encourage people to see their Muslim neighbour as a potential terrorist is like pointing to crime statistics and declaring that your Black neighbour will probably rob a bank. It’s not helping and it’s not fair.
medina says
“…tarring an entire ideology with the same brush isn’t fair. ”
We are dealing with an ideology based on the teachings of a man who raped a child, committed mass murder, and instructed his followers to do the same. The ideology is highly suspect since vast numbers of these people carry out those orders every minute of the day. They have declared war on us, and we are not tarring anyone with the vigilance required to deal with the problem.
don vito says
Wasn’t just in the last two weeks, that we read about Christians and other religious minorities in Iraq, fleeing not only IS but especially their moslem sunni neighbors for rating them out to IS and turning on them? Christians and other religious and ethnic minorities then were treated like the Kufr they are. Wonder how long the moslem Sunnis planned this? This is something the clueless should think about, if the clueless have moslem neighbors.
somehistory says
The *campaigning* is to help more people realize that the ideology of islam is dangerous. It isn’t directed at a *neighbor,* but at the teaching that allows people who believe it to indulge in and practice any and all forms of evil if they are inclined. Yes, even being commanded to engage in these things if he is to be fully muslim (such as going each week to pray that his enemies, the Jews and Christians, will be killed).
A person who believes that the koran tells the *truth* about life, death, how believers are to be treated as opposed to how unbelievers are to be treated, is putting belief in an ideology that promotes teaching of one person who believes as being superior, and the unbeliever is worse than the lowest animal; that children are meant to be the sex toys of old men, women can be raped, beaten or killed at the whim of their husbands, money and property are to be taken from unbelievers by those who believe, murder is fine and expected if the unbeliever doesn’t submit or convert, and on and on to satisfy any wrongful desire known to man.
Trying to justify the mayor’s denunciation of the ads that seek to inform people by saying it’s akin to targeting a next door neighbor as a bank robber because he’s Black is what is not helping and is not fair.
eduardo odraude says
Everett,
You confuse ideology with race. What’s wrong is tarring a race for the actions of some of its members. But there is nothing wrong with tarring an ideology as a whole, if the ideology is totalitarian. Islam is totalitarian (study Sharia law) and violent jihad to spread Sharia law is part of Islam’s core. If you study the central Islamic texts with any thoroughness, and then look carefully at the human rights situation in the majority-Islamic nations in the world, you’ll stop saying things like “don’t tar a whole ideology with one brush.”
Huge numbers in the Islamic world support totalitarian aspects of Islamic law. Polls of Muslims around the world suggest that we are talking more than half of Muslims in the world, thus perhaps over 750 million. And perhaps 150 million, while they wouldn’t engage in militant jihad themselves, are all for it as a way to help implement Islamic law. And some 15 million or more are seriously interested in engaging directly in militant jihad. Many in the larger mass of Muslims function like a sea of sympathy and support for the jihadists.
If none of that stirs you, consider that the commenter “Traeh” used to post this link, leading to his collection of links to many news stories about people and institutions in the West censoring themselves because of death threats from Muslims. Everett, you are already living in a self-censored world, where few people dare publicly criticize Islam, and you don’t even know it! Wake up! Read those news stories at the link. That should make you rethink this.
Western Canadian says
“The mayor is simply pointing out that not all Muslims are jihadists.”
We can tell that you are both a fool and a liar, since the picture above this article shows him cuddling with a race hating and very vicious jihadi….. So, what is your real name? Abdulla? Mohamed? Shirley??

Come off it WC. In the face of all the media coverage, much of it impartial, walking around wearing a tent or growing an unkempt beard in all western democracies is in someway endorsing the madness that exists in the middle east. Their appearance alone suggests a rejection of the society they were born into or sought refuge (you’re welcome!?).
The fault is ours. We simply won’t wake up, yet, to the fact that muslims in general are malignant psychopaths.
This is, I believe, the start of an age where reason has left humanity and insane religious dogma will rear its ugly head….once again
Western Canadian says
I’m trying to figure out how your reply in any way relates to my post….. it doesn’t, but your posts seldom relate to much of anything…

Due to the Jihad doctrine in Islam all Muslims ARE potential terrorists. See: Koran.
eduardo odraude says
Everett Wilson writes, “The mayor is simply pointing out that not all Muslims are jihadists. Most of them just want to get on with life like the rest of us, with no trouble. ”
Sort of. Having a Muslim community, even of limited size, somehow terrorizes artists, writers, teachers, journalists, museums, universities, and politicians into giving up their freedom of speech about Islam.
To my mind, that’s very dangerous, given Islam’s totalitarian program around the world. If people are silenced, there’s no opposing the creep of Islamic totalitarianism into non-Muslim societies. The part of the Muslim community that rejects Sharia just ain’t worth the very substantial part that goes along with orthodox Islam or even actively wants Sharia, and supports jihadists morally or financially while lying about it.
Let the “good” Muslims publicly reject Sharia law and the parts of the Qur’an that support it, and the actions of Muhammad that exemplify it. But they’ll never reject actions of Muhammad.
Probably there were plenty of “good” Nazis too, who were half in denial about what Hitler stood for. The best that can be said of “moderate Muslims” is that they are ignorant to a degree that amounts almost to criminal negligence. They are in bed with a criminal ideology. Moderate Muslims deserve rejection on every front, because they only serve as the propaganda arm of a totalitarian violent movement.
But what does Everett care?
