When two staunch foes of Israel like Obama and Erdogan discuss combating anti-Semitism, they are either performing for the cameras or mean that they need to put yet more pressure on Israel. For in the view of Leftists and Islamic supremacists, if there is any anti-Semitism, it is because of the alleged misdeeds of Israel. If Israel makes another series of concessions to the “Palestinian” jihadis, all will be well.
“Obama and Erdogan Discuss Fighting Anti-Semitism,” by Ben Ariel, Arutz Sheva, September 6, 2014:
U.S. President Barack Obama on Friday urged Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to combat anti-Semitism, the White House said in a statement.
“The President met with Turkish President Erdogan today in Newport, Wales, where both leaders were attending the NATO Summit. They exchanged views on how best to cooperate in the struggle against ISIS and violent extremism in Iraq and Syria, and on the need for strengthened measures against foreign fighters transiting to and from the battlefield,” the statement said.
“They discussed the urgent need for effective pressure and diplomacy aimed at bringing to an end the conflicts in Ukraine and Libya. The President and President Erdogan also discussed the importance of building tolerant and inclusive societies and combating the scourge of anti-Semitism,” it added.
Under the rule of the Islamist AKP party of Erdogan, who used to be the country’s prime minister before his recent election as president, anti-Semitism has risen steadily, prompting many young Turkish Jews to leave the country.
That rising hatred has been blamed on vitriolic anti-Israel rhetoric by Turkish leaders and politicians, which often spills over into anti-Semitism.
Israel and Turkey used to be close allies, even at the start of the AKP’s rule. However, things soon turned sour as Erdogan drifted towards a “pan-Islamic” foreign policy, attacking the Jewish state regularly, including most notably when he stormed out of a TV interview with then-Israeli President Shimon Peres over Israel’s 2009 Operation Cast Lead in Gaza.
Relations reached an all-time low after the 2010 Mavi Marmara incident, when the Marmara ship, which claimed to be providing “humanitarian aid for the people of Gaza,” defied orders to turn around and dock at the Ashdod port. After it ignored repeated warnings to change course, the IDF boarded the vessel – only to be attacked by Islamist extremists on board.
The soldiers had no choice but to open fire, resulting in the deaths of nine of the IHH members on board.
After an investigation, Israeli authorities discovered the vessel to be carrying no humanitarian aid – in fact, no aid supplies at all – whatsoever.
Erdogan has continued to verbally attack the Jewish state even after Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, at the urging of Obama, apologized for the Marmara incident.
The Turkish leader renewed his attacks against Israel during the recent Operation Protective Edge in Gaza. He threatened to end the normalization process with Israel over “state terrorism.”
Last week, however, Erdogan publicly shook the hand of an Israeli official, the first time in six years he had done so.

” … anti-Israel rhetoric … ”
Anti-Israel rhetoric is nothing more or less than vicious anti-Semitism. Dressed up as ‘anti-Zionism’. It’s a pretty new dress, but it shouldn’t fool anyone possessed of a brain.
Anti-Semites, who have found themselves to be persona non grata, know that all they need to do is re-morph themselves as ‘freedom fighters for Gaza’, or defenders of the right of the ‘palestinian people to their own state’, in order to indulge their vicious Jew hatred.
And horrifically, there are many ‘jewicidally’ Jews, who go along with this utterly **evil** clap trap. They clearly have learnt **nothing** from history.
”When people tell you they want to murder you, believe them.” Pfffft.

Erdogan replies, “But, but Barak I’m so tired from last night”.
*Obama firmly grabs Erdogan’s left arm*, “Don’t make me drag you out of here boy”.

Here’s more theater of the absurd: Erdogan’s letter to the ADL ([Jewish] Anti-Defamation League):

One small bright spot—the ADL isn’t swallowing Erdogan’s bs. Good for them.

Greetings:
I don’t suppose the two Presidents had time to discuss why the old USofA is flying its jets up from the Persian Gulf to attack ISIS almost on Turkey’s southern doorstep. Surely NATO must have some base or other around there somewhere.
I wish I could say it was a surprise but the way NATO ally Turkey pulled in its welcome mat when the 4th Infantry Division wanted to go a-knocking on Saddam Hussein’s many palace doors back in 2003 pretty much indicated what direction its as going and with which allies it was more allied.

In 2003 it was than opion to Turkey to help us or not to help us. The 2003 invadion wasnot than defences NATO action as no NATO country was invade by than foreign army. Quite afew NATO country refuse to take part in that action. I think you are than Turkeyoprobic.
jimjames says
Nice word Turkeyoprobic. I saw two speeches from Erdogan. His mannerisms, body movements indicated his model speaker was non-other than Adolf himself. But form is one thing and content is another and what is really important. Turkey, Iran and Saudi Arabia contend to be “the Caliphate”. ISIL has to be either destroyed or absorbed by one of these. This contention leaves Egypt and Israel in a peculiarly “friendly” relationship. I try not to fit any label as my sense of the principles of the American Republic and the Federal System was a unique and special creation. Born into this way of thinking and living makes me what I was. Studying esoteric literature especially yogic literature makes me what I am. Guess somethings are more difficult to get over, not to get over-diagrammatic, but especially when you live in “the V-ring”.

Never mind the anti-semitism (there are basically ‘no’ Jews in Turkey), what about the anti-Christianisty in Turkey.
Please remember that most cities in Turkey were 50% Christian at the turn of the century, until the Armenian and Greek genocides:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armenian_Genocide
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_genocide
In the 1860 census Diyarbakir was 55% Christian. Even now the tourist info proudly boasts that there are 12 churches in the old city. However – what they don’t mention is that 11 of those churches have been burnt down and on 40 (forty) Christians remain – in a city of 900,000.

And regards Turkish anti-Semitism, this is indoctrinated at birth.
I am in the hospitality business, and an Israeli delegation arrived at a Turkish hotel (many Israelies holiday in Turkey, because it is cheap). The young hotel staffers saw them coming in the door and all screamed in genuine panic and terror, and ran into another room.
These are the children of Erdogan’s generation. Anti-Semitism, anyone….?

Khalifa Barak Hussein and raghead Erdogan contemplating how to combat anti-Semitism? That’s easy to figure out — destroy the Jews and there will be no more need for Jew-hatred; it can remain in the unholy koran as vestigal ravings.
Will Barak add arms and US offficials to the next Erdogan “relief” ship to Gaza?
Holder and Sharpton should really join the Code Pinkers on that expedition….

fair_dinkum- Something is brewing but hard to know when! But Erdogan has to close the border and that raises a question if he really will close the border and have firefights with ISIL. Obama will lead from behind cause he is a community organizer and getting into duke-outs is not his specialty. Besides he has Muslim Brotherhood people in high places and he cannot support, even “through the window” Assad in Syria. Not going to say anything about the coalition that is forming but just watch who is doing what and be amazed. God does work in mysterious ways!
