Vaunted Boston “moderate” Suhaib Webb is amassing quite a record of connections to bloody jihad terrorists. Maybe it’s time for his local Useful Idiot, the Boston Globe’s Lisa Wangsness, to do another puff piece on how wise, witty and wonderful Webb is. She has done at least of these in the past; the third should be coming along any minute.
“Oklahoma Beheader Linked to Al Qaeda Leader Awlaki, Boston Bomber’s Mosque,” by Jordan Schachtel, Breitbart, September 27, 2014:
Suhaib Webb, an Imam with ties to former Al Qaeda mastermind Anwar al-Awlaki, had also previously been the leader of the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City, which had been attended by Alton Nolen — the man who on Thursday beheaded a former coworker after recently converting to Islam, Breitbart News has learned. Webb now serves as Imam of the sister organization of the mosque attended by Boston Marathon bombers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev.
Imam Suhaib Webb has a history of ties to radicalism. FBI surveillance documents found that he was a known confidant of Al Qaeda mastermind Anwar al-Awlaki. Just two days before the September 11, 2001 attacks on America, Webb spoke at a fundraiser with Awlaki with hopes to raise funds for Atlanta-based H. Rap Brown, a man that shot and killed two police officers. The FBI documents also found that “Webb and Awlaki may be associated with the Muslim American Society,” which is a group described by the Investigative Project on Terrorism as being “founded as the United States Chapter of the Muslim Brotherhood.”
Nolen took a picture of himself (above) September 5th, just three weeks before he brutally murdered an innocent woman, standing in front of the gates of the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City.
The caption read: “At The Masjid (Mosque)Today For Jumar 9/5/2014 & Peforming Wudu!!!”
Imam Webb’s bio from his new place of employment, the Islamic Society of Boston, states:
While pursuing his bachelors degree Imam Webb studied privately with a renowned Muslim Scholar of Senegalese descent. After intense private training in various Islamic sciences, Imam Webb was hired as the Imam at the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City, where he not only provided Khutbas (Sermons) and religious classes but also counseled families and young people.
The Islamic Society of Boston, which was attended by the Tsarnaev brothers during his tenure as Imam, has several within their ranks who have been charged with committing acts of Islamic Radicalism. The founder of the Mosque, Abdulrahman Alamoudi, was sentenced to 23 years in prison for his role for financing terror.
After the Boston Marathon bombings, Webb had initially been invited to an interfaith memorial at the Holy Cross Cathedral, where president Obama was scheduled to speak. Imam Webb’s invitation was then rescinded under mysterious circumstances at the last minute, according to reports.
Writing in the Jewish Advocate last year, columnist Charles Jacobs described Imam Webb as someone who “teaches vicious hatred and calls for young Muslims to engage in Jihad against non-Muslims in order to establish a global Islamic state.”
Additionally, a video from October showed Webb at a Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR) fundraiser calling for an Islamic State. The Islamic organization, a group that originally had secretly called itself the “Palestine Committee of the Muslim Brotherhood,” was charged as an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorism financing case in American history, known as the Holy Land Foundation Trial.

Minor note about article.
It seems that the sentence in the third paragraph of grayed out area should read:
Nolen took a picture of himself (above) September 5th, standing in front of the gates of the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City just three weeks before he brutally murdered an innocent woman.

BTW, Webb, there was no Islam in the Sixth Century. I make that mistake sometimes, forgetting the ‘zero’ First Century, but I try not to call others idiots while doing it. Especially not Ayaah Hirsi Ali who has more brains in one lobe tied behind her back than you, Webb.

Islam secondary motive in Boston bombings, Webb quoted extensively:

Notice how Webb’s only true concern is for the image of Islam and opposing “Islamophobia”. Victims of jihad are a secondary concern, if that. Islamic honor-shame thinking is a universal constant.

Another Wangsness ode to Islam making converting to Islam seem like just another lifestyle choice. Oddly, there is no mention of the death penalties for apostasy and all the other thought crimes under sharia. Webb again a go-to source:

What a disgusting game Obama and company is playing.
It is going on two years and still no trial.
Two month delay now till well after the November midterm elections.
In Muslim countries there would not be a trial for such an attack.
He would be dead already.

Beagle in that first link Webb says
“What is needed now is meeting hate with love, trials with patience, and fear with increased worship,” Webb wrote in the letter.
Love, Patience and worship?
How could a Muslim so conveniently forget their favorite grievance mongering word? (justice)

This came up in the Wangsness search. During the Worcester controversy when Robert was not allowed to speak, Salon’s First Amendment columnist Alex Seitz-Wald decides Robert is a hater, based on no actual quotes of course.
Seitz-Wald’s only argument is that Breivik quoted Spencer. Of course Breivik was attempting to destroy the counter-jihad movement and smear Geller and Spencer in favor of his preferred neo-Nazism.
The comments are hilarious. There are a half dozen at least calls for examples of Robert’s actual words supporting the ‘hatred’ smear. This came out in 2013, still waiting…

Hello Beagle —
A supersized THX for these links is herewith lobbed into your slice of our galaxy. I also followed those original postings by our 24/7 tireless Bobby Spencer.
There is apparently an IQ deficit for those brains who fervently believe in, or serve as enablers of, Islam. Neither Webb nor Wangness realized (or cared) that their words are available perpetually.
Futurecasting effectively does not seem to be possible by Muslims we encounter in major media. CAIR’s gang of wannabee head cutters actually thinks their taqiyya bull crap press statements are believed.
But what else can they do ? ISIS’s “WTF — OFF SCRIPT !!” massacres plus Oklahoma’s devotee of The Sword seriously blew up a stealth jihad calendar.

“Peforming Wudu” means doing the ritual washings which prepare Muslims for prayer services.
There needn’t be any contrition during Wudu. The washings are like other Muslim acts: irrational and impossible to understand, but necessary in order to act like the role model Mohammed, pedophile, pirate, prevaricator and psychopath. Mohammed performed a violent act or commanded one every six weeks in the final years of his life.
What a role model those Muslims choose for themselves!

Wudu is propitiary magic. It is trying to control the supernatural through earthly practice. Islam is profane.

I hate to say this, but associations may or may not be significant–even if I strongly suspect that in Webb’s case they are indeed significant. Given that Nolen attended Webb’s mosque, I wonder what a perusal of Webb’s sermons might yield in the way of incendiary rhetoric?
However, one of Uncle Kepha’s former students is behind bars as an accessory to first degree murder. I’d hate for people to think that my teaching history to English-language learners caused a boy to go bad. I’ll say here and now that I never knowingly encouraged kids to get involved in gangs and go after each other.

Dear Uncle,
Good point. But what this does, at a minimum, exemplify, I think, is that most Muslims — even the “moderates” — willingly or not, are associated with some extremists, because in a group of a hundred Muslims in the U.S., probably at least half sympathize with totalitarian elements of Islamic law, and wink at jihad, as long as it isn’t jihad against Muslims and doesn’t make things difficult for Muslims in the U.S. Further, in that group of a hundred, there are probably one or two or more young men who are seriously interested in directly participating in Jihad themselves at some point in their lives. That high percentage of sympathizers with totalitarian violence and high proportion of young men contemplating treason against the U.S. (1% is a huge number, even before one reflects that that 1% is supported by another 15% and winked at by yet another 35%). In a population of some three million Muslims, that is some 30,000 young men interested in participating in violent jihad eventually. Cut that number tenfold, and it’s still an insupportable number. Additional parts of the Islamic populace might not support jihad and Sharia, but are uninformed about Islam, except they feel powerful allegiance to the Umma, and will shun and denounce any Muslim who criticizes Muhammad or Islam. All in all, this leaves a very small number of truly secular, unequivocally and ideologically free-spirited Muslims, perhaps 15%, and of those, almost none are willing to publicly criticize Islam. Think what it costs a non-Muslim to publicly criticize Islam. It arguably costs a Muslim much more.
All the above “facts” — check the numbers, what I’ve seen of polls of Muslims and studies of mosques in the U.S., and other data seems to confirm what I’ve said — show why very few Muslims are willing publicly to do what Robert Spencer calls on them to do: denounce the Muslims who support jihadist groups, and denounce the parts of the Qur’an and Hadith that Muslims use to justify jihad terror and sharia law. There are just too many Sharia and jihad supporters — and the “Muslims” who don’t support jihad and Sharia law know the central Islamic texts do support Islamic law and jihad, and any Muslim who publicly rejects those will be denounced as an apostate.

There’s plenty of them available on the website. Or just try youtube.

Really, Kepha, I expected a bit more logic and common-sense, from *you* ! Surely it is what the associations **are**, that make them significant, or insignificant ?
What possible correlation is there between the foulness of the koran, hadith, sira, the rantings of a vicious imam, and **teaching history** ?
If I had taught domestic science, (which I didn’t) and one of my students later was imprisoned for murder, would it be logical to assume, or even worry, that because I taught him/her to make jam tarts, I had a role in their crime ?
I did, however, like you, teach history, and two or three of the lads I taught got banged up for burglary. Should I worry that my teaching them about Henry VIII and his Six wives might have influenced them wrongly ? Pffft. No. It was what they heard at home, and their entire sub-culture. (I taught in a large and often violent inner-city comprehensive).
It is, however, logical to assume that the vile and evil content of the koran, and listening to the vicious Webb, and mixing with other mohammedans who clearly held exactly the same views, had a **huge** part to play in this vicious creature’s murder of that poor woman.

Newspaper people today are just a commodity trying sell newspapers; not be investigative journalists and ask uncomfortable questions and stand their ground against editors to get the tru story out. There are very few out there today.
My dire concern is what breed of FBI & Homeland Security Agents are out there. What does it take for them to bring someone in for an interview and give the the sense the are being monitored. Are Agents weak and don’t want to ruffle feathers?
GP says
They just lack a natural curiosity when it comes to muslims, but hey if you are a tea party member or a police officer from MO you will have Lerner and Holder yo contend with. Why would the FBI and DHS want to know about the jihadist recruiting that goes on in mosques throughout America? Why would they want to open such a can of worms when it is so well insulated by a shield of multiculturalism and political correctness?
There are so many mosques and so many imams across the country that hate America and support ISIS that these agencies would be completely overwhelmed.
GP says
Specifically, how is a mosque a threat to the community within which it is built?
Every single mosque in the world, by definition, is modeled on the mosque of Muhammad in Medina in accordance with the Sunnah. The Sunnah interprets the Qur’an by reporting exhaustively on everything that Muhammad said, did, or consented to. Therefore, his Medina mosque, the first mosque, was a place where he gave judgments, where he decided who would be executed, where he instituted policy—domestic and military— where Jihad war strategies were designed. Consequently, it was a storage place for arms, a military training base, and was where troops were blessed and dispatched. Literally they were sent to conquer – first the whole of Arabia, and then the rest of the known world. Therefore if the present-day mosque is modeled as per the Sunnah of Muhammad then there should be very serious concern. As is well-known, Muslims are required to follow the example (Sunnah) of Muhammad—and according to Sura 33:36 it is not an option or a matter of opinion: “It is not for a believer, man or woman, when Allâh and His Messenger have decreed a matter that they should have any option in their decision. And whoever disobeys Allâh and His Messenger, he has indeed strayed in a plain error.” This explains and establishes beyond doubt why arms have been found in mosques in various countries, and in different capital cities.
