Oklahoma: Muslim beheads coworker, had tried to convert colleagues to Islam

Watch for stories about how Oklahoma Muslims are afraid of a “backlash.” Watch for the coming mainstream media reports about how the Vaughan Foods plant was rife with “Islamophobia.” Not that this has anything to do with Islam, and of course it is not terrorism.

“Man Beheads Woman At Food-Processing Plant,” Sky News, September 26, 2014 (thanks to Pamela Geller):

A man has beheaded a woman at a food-processing plant in Oklahoma, police have confirmed.

Police said the suspect, who had just been fired, launched into the knife attack at a food-processing plant in Moore on Thursday afternoon.

Alton Nolen, 30, decapitated one woman before he was shot by another employee at Vaughan Foods while actively stabbing a second woman.

The man who shot Nolen was an off-duty reserve police officer, Mark Vaughn, who was chief operating officer at the business.

Moore Police spokesman Jeremy Lewis said the suspect “recently started trying to convert some of his co-workers to the Muslim faith”. The FBI are involved in the investigation.

The first victim was identified as 54-year-old Colleen Hufford.

Mr Lewis told Friday morning’s press conference: “He did kill Colleen and he did sever her head.”

Nolen and the second victim, 43-year-old Traci Johnson, were both in a stable condition, said police.

Mr Lewis said Mr Vaughn was a “hero” for shooting Nolen.

“It could have gotten a lot worse,” he added. “This guy (Nolen) was definitely not going to stop.”

There were said to be several hundred employees inside the warehouse at the time of the attack.

According to the state department of corrections, Nolen was convicted in 2011 of marijuana possession, intent to distribute cocaine, escape from detention and assault on a police officer.

      • You are wrongly optimistic. The liberal population will not wake up even if there is a beheading every day in USA by a Muslim. They are convinced that America is at fault for interfering in world affairs and stealing resources from other countries. That is the reason for all the ills of the world they think. That mindset will not change and will result (already is) in destruction of civilized nations for centuries. Here is a pessimistic view and more realistic one I believe.

      • I do not think it is beside the point. If it were simply a case of people misunderstanding the peaceful message of Islam, then it would be much easier to reform Islam. As it is, the hatred that inhere’s in Islam makes it a far more difficult ideology to redeem.

        And even if Islam were to take a more moderate turn, because violence is built into the founding texts, the risk of return to the radicalism so in evidence today would be great. This is quite different to Christianity in which the sacred texts militated
        against violence.

        Just my two cents, which aren’t worth a dime.

    • When will our government wake up? I can’t believe this was classified as ‘workplace violence’. I really do consider myself a liberal at heart (I believe in the inherent goodness of people, I believe that government should make provisions to take care of the least of us), but I do not think that Muslims have any place in the West. I don’t think that practice of Islam should be allowed here. It should not be afforded the same protections that other religions have. I no longer consider Islam to be a religion. It is a cult springing from lethal ideology.

      We’re really in some deep doo doo unless our leaders turn the ship around and change course FAST. I’ve written to just about everyone I can think of to write to: President Obama, John Kerry, John McCain (to say thank you– I think he gets it to a degree)… I can tell that a lot of people are waking up to the present dangers, but most of our leaders are in a fog of delusion. I’m less scared of Islamist violence than I am of our leaders’ ignorance and assertions that Islam is a religion of peace. WTF??

You would have had some BOZO lawyer to defend Nolan accusing the whole world of being racist, making him out to be the victim. The Police officer should be awarded a finders fee.

  13. I am going to stick my neck out (no pun intended) and make a prediction about America’s future. In years to come I would expect many of America’s cities to look like London and Paris. We will see Muslims shouting “Allahu Akbar” and slogans like “death to the Jews” (later, “death to Christians”) in the streets like we see in London and Paris. I expect in the years to come (maybe a couple or so decades) Iran / Islam will have hundreds, maybe thousands of nuclear weapons and devices that will be distributed to cells in the U.S. and Europe; ICBMs aimed at European and American cities. One day it is conceivable in event nuclear weapons are detonated in American cities, Muslim mobs will be going house to house plundering, raping, beheading, mutilating non-Muslims. Is this too hard to imagine?

      • Hello Dave — My alternate alias around the web is “2nd Amendment Dem”. You are right on the money about all of us who possibly can do so getting training and a suitable self defense gun.

        And there is often a misconception that concealed carry permits require lengthy expensive “live fire” combat trainer courses. NOT TRUE IN MANY STATES. There are video equivalents priced from about $20 up to $80 or so.

        (Check with the local clerk of the court where each of you JW readers here lives.)

        Remember too that concealed carry does NOT necessarily mean wearing the weapon in a holster on the body. It could alternatively be in a backpack or bookbag — something carried everyday.

        This subject is WAY bigger than adequate coverage here in comments. Use the internet search tools for the guys who really know what they are talking about

        Please visit and buy from a gen-u-wine brick & mortar firearms shop owner — even if that involves a couple hours of driving on a Saturday or Sunday.

          I printed that, filled out my local county’s Clerk of the Court application, paid $50, and in roughly 30 days my CCW permit arrived — a business card size item which is RECOMMENDED TO BE LAMINATED for durability.

          To repeat : every state and county in the U.S. sets their own rules and costs. There may be a waiting list — especially now that an ISIS clone popped up in the Heartland of America. GET OFF YOUR COMFY ASSES ! ! !

          We are seeing just the start of open active jihad — Muhammad’s heirs are in this for keeps. ISIS blew the “stealth” disguise to smithereens.

      • Davegreybeard, my guess is like me you live in a rural part of your county, outside the city limits. Out here where I live most people own firearms. I don’t know what it is like in the big cities, New York, Orlando, Miami, Los Angeles, Chicago, Denver, Boston, etc.

        • In Florida concealed weapons permits require a class and background check. They are very common. Home invasions often have a happy ending and require no trial. Neither Orlando nor Miami has restrictive Bloombergian legislation.

          OKC cop spokesman actually said mujahid was trying to convert people. I guess no feds have given him his talking points yet. CAIR lawsuit in 3…2…

      I’ve stated it often, in brief, when face to face with Islam, one, be that nation or individual, either bows to it, either by embracing it or accepting its supremacy and ones subservience to it, or blood flows.

      Anyone who believes things have been and will be absent that here in the U.S. of A. is dreaming.

      The “believer” partaking in this conflict has one goal in mind: making Allah’s word the supreme law of the land, his din the superior din. Each believer doing whatever he can, as best he can to bring those goals to fruition is the Allah-given duty of each respective believer.

      Thus all-one-can-do, the basic Qur’an and sunnah established Rules of engagement.

          That’s a curious question for a seasoned Jihad Watcher to ask in light of my post which the question is responding to. Two things make it curious:

          1) The question seems to imply that a much-needed project to manage a horrible problem must be perfect, else it should not be implemented. So what if a refreshingly reasonable Operation Broad Brush were implemented to deal with the problem of Muslims, but then an indeterminate small number of Muslims managed to slip through the cracks? Apparently, dumbledoresarmy things that such imperfections in a project makes that project questionable. I, on the contrary, think that such hypothetical imperfections merely make the project normal (i.e., not perfect, like everything else in life).

          2) The second curious thing is that dumbledoresarmy is intelligent enough to answer her own question; so why did she ask me? How would any intelligent person or group of person in charge of such a project figure out ways to handle the contingency of Muslims who pretend or try to hide their Islamic identity? Well, they would like any other normatively intelligent person, once that normatively intelligent person has fully grasped the dimensions of the problem.

          Me thinks dumbledoresarmy, like so many Jihad Watchers, hasn’t fully grasped the dimensions of the problem (operative words: “fully” and “dimensions” — not so much “problem” per se).

          DDA’s question is “the obvious question”, not “a curious question”. You claim that the only sign of suspect behaviour is being muslim. How do you propose to identify suspects when you want to punish (what you claim to be) the only suspect behaviour? It stands to reason that measures depending on prejudicial suspicious of all those belonging to a certain demographic (in this particular case, muslims) are rendered worthless if all members of said demographic take steps to avoind being identified as belonging to said demographic.

          Nope. At most, the question implies a “Considering that muslims can simply pretend they’re not muslims, what is there to be gained from your suggestion”?

          What’s implied here is that it’s not ok to have muslims because they can be terrorists but it’s ok to have terrorists as long as you don’t know they’re muslims. On which grounds are you speculating that only a “small number” of muslims would “slip through the cracks”?

          So your solution to having islamic terrorists in your country is OK even though if it were to be implemented it’s very likely you’d still have islamic terrorists? Note that you can’t quantify how many possible terrorists are there before or after your “solution” – one could reasonably argue a case for your solution worsening the islamic terrorist issue.

          DDA’s asking about a flaw in your “solution”. Why should she ask anyone else?

I’m starting to think your alleged preoccupation stems from some sort of amorphous antipathy towards muslims rather than the deadly danger of terrorism and other forms of jihad violence (reasonably presumed to be metastasizing and not stable).

    • I would like to know whether he converted to Islam in jail. I think there is quite a high probability of that.

      If so, surely a case must be made for infidel countries keeping Muslim prisoners separate from non-Muslim prisoners in jail, so as to prevent them from converting the non-Muslims (many of whom will be attracted to Islam precisely because it appeals to all their basest instincts, but others of whom may be bullied into it, joining the in-prison Allah Gang – the worst of all the Gangs – merely in order to survive).

      I went to school with Chris Stevens, the American ambassador to Libya who was murdered in Benghazi. We weren’t close, but we knew each other well enough to say “hi” when we passed in the halls of the History Department at UC Berkeley.

      I met journalist Chauncey Bailey several times when he was covering events at the Oakland Library when he was writing for the Oakland Tribune. He was later assassinated by Your Black Muslim Bakery (an offshoot of the Nation of Islam) thugs for writing an expose of that violent Islamic gang.

      Otherwise unrelated, I knew Mike Wills pretty well. He was a barista at a cafe I frequented. He’d take cigarette breaks out on the back patio and ask me to show him the art I was working on.

      He was a really sweet guy, and he wanted to be a chef. He made a move in that direction when he started working as a sous chef at the sister restaurant next door to the cafe. I didn’t see him as often after that, but we’d say hi to him and his girlfriend when we saw them around the neighborhood.

      His girlfriend always gently ribbed him about how smoking was his only bad habit and would be the death of him.

      She was right—but not in the way you might think. I knew he lived in north Oakland, but hadn’t realized it was right near Your Black Muslim Bakery. One night he went out for cigarettes, and on his way back home was shot to death. He was killed just because he was white and not a black Muslim.

      I don’t even live in a region that is particularly heavily infested with Mohammedans—that I personally know three people murdered by them—and in separate incidents—still shocks me.

          What is necessary is that Islam be looked upon in the negative as Nazism and Communism regularly have been (I readily concede that among certain American elites Marxism unfortunately retains some popularity) . I have gone into length about this at JW many times, including why It is not only unnecessary to ban Islam but why it is highly unrealistic and completely not in keeping with American constitutional law. Of course, if you would care to provide the constitutional arguments why Islam should be, could be, banned under the Constitution, then run it by the American judiciary, not one member of which, to my knowledge, to the present day has judicially opined that Islam could be, should be, banned. Take it up with the American judiciary. I’d love to see the outcome.

          Perhaps though before you do you should crack a few tomes on American constitutional law. Gauging by what you have written, I don’t think you have to date.

          As for his views, he teaches history and constitutional law at the university level, so he does know whereof he speaks.

          Further, if Islam were banned, that would likely mean that reading or owning any of the texts of Islam would be banned as well. Muslims would not care—they would just defy the “filthy Kuffar” but such laws would make criminals of many of us here who read these works so that we can *defend* against Islam.

          Nazism was almost universally hated and derided during and after WWII—but anti-Fascists were not prevented from leaning about that foul creed—neither should we be prevented from leaning about Islam.
