Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Pakistan: Muslim pol and “moderate” cleric booked under anti-terrorist act

Sep 2, 2014 4:29 am By Robert Spencer

QadriKhanTahir-ul-Qadri enjoys a widespread reputation as a “moderate,” despite his role in drafting Pakistan’s notorious blasphemy law, because he issued a 400-page fatwa against terrorism. Unfortunately, that fatwa doesn’t even discuss the verses of the Qur’an that jihadists use to justify terrorism, as I showed in this article. In a response to my article, Qadri’s Fatwa Against Terrorism site offered his fanciful interpolated versions of the verses in question: he added material that made the violent verses relatively peaceful, but his interpolations, unfortunately, have no basis in the Arabic text of the Qur’an or Islamic tradition.

Imran Khan is the former cricket star turned Islamic supremacist politician; he has threatened jihad terror attacks in the past.

“Clashes resume in Islamabad; Imran Khan, Qadri booked under anti-terrorist act,” PTI, September 1, 2014:

ISLAMABAD: Cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan and fiery cleric Tahir-ul-Qadri have been booked under the anti-terrorist act for attempting to attack Pakistan’s parliament.

The police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Qadri on behalf of the government.

On Saturday night, supporters of Khan and Qadri tried to storm Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s residence by breaking through the police barricade.

The protesters, demanding resignation of Sharif over alleged rigging in last year’s election, also entered the lawn of parliament but they were stopped at the main entrance of the building where soldiers were deployed.

According to reports, the FIR was also registered against Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed and other senior leaders of PAT and PTI under terrorism laws, for breaching the agreement with Islamabad administration.

The sections of murder, intention of murder, intervention in state affairs and seven other sections were also included in the FIR, reports said.

After the FIR, Khan and Qadri can be arrested any time. Another case is being prepared against the leadership of PAT and PTI for attack on Pakistan Television’s (PTV) building which will be lodged under the sections of damaging state property, looting and robbery, media reported.

Haram, apparently. Like anything that’s fun, in Islam.

This was bound to happen…Imran moved from cricket to Jemima Khan to hospital building and now to Nation building….it is the classic American and British model for the man to leave an indelible mark on his forehead.

Imran was a fast bowler who terrified English batsmen…he lived a fast paced life but now things are not moving fast enough from him….so he has instigated a bit of help from the people to get into power.

Already some have shamefully died …but PM Shaarif has not been ousted yet nor is he likely to be.

Imran will be arrested at the next little altercation …and then he will move to his next step in life…become a maryter for Pakistanin prison ….and try and get power from the prison like Gandhi ..(lucky H really as gandi means dirty).

Imran is desperate for power …because he wants to modernise Pakistan…like a Britain in South Asia (in fact the reverse is true…parts of Britain is like Pakistan) .

He has taken Qadri in parallel to show his “credentials” as a moderate… because he needs the clergy with him and the “Elahi” ambulance service in full flow taking the injured to Imran’s own “cancer” hospital.

Pakistan does need modernization… and America needs to provide some of the funding and ask companies like Apple, IMB etc…to take up tech support from Lahore and Karachi instead of/as well as Bangalore and Delhi.

Whilst some of JWers will laugh…this is the sort of thing that will provide jobs to the women ..ridicule the breast feeding fatwa and keep abreast of the latest technology. It also means that these women are likely to have less children, concentrate on career.

One of the best industries I think for Pakistan would be the introduction of manufacturing of Durex contraceptives in Lahore and an unlimited amount of free samples handed out in the surrounding villages..showing the women it’s benefit and how to use and place it over the muslim man’s thickness…e.g. via banana demos.

JWers may smile but Pakistan really needs to control it’s population. 45M at it’s birth …it is now at 200M in Pakistan …with possibly another 30M worldwide.

Home is where happiness is and home is where the condom needs to be too in my beloved Pakistan.

bicky – “devout and pious pakistanis will start eating each other for breakfast, lunch and dinner”

Well it’s possible I suppose..a lot will depend on the instability that Imran’s actions this may cause…particularly if Nawaz resigns…which he must not.

You cannot have 5K persons hound out the PM…it does not happen in the US, Britain …same goes for an advanced country like Pak….it even trumps the US for it’s purity…in blood…in prayer..it’s morals and the safety of it’s women.

Still the US has many advantages that we could do with …like a bit more stability…we are a young , vibrant nation but probably with too many (sunni) people …we don’t have enough water, electricity, jobs ..but worst of all….

there is the constant threat from India….Pakistan simply cannot become another Libya!

I especially do not want an army coup “in the interests of the safety of Pakistan”.

For me this is an acid test …will it go in the way of Egypt ..(where the muslim brotherhood should have only been defeated at the ballot box ..so Morsi the sunni turd should still be there if principles arer to be upheld) ….or can one term of a democratic elected government survive?

Pakistan really needs to control it’s population. 45M at it’s birth …it is now at 200M in Pakistan ,,,Not only Pak, but, entire Muslim nations need this…but, will the Moulvis allow it..? I don’t think so, because, it is their intention to produce as many children as they could, even if lakhs of children live on the streets of Pak, to be abused.

As a JW watcher, I can’t remain without laughing after reading your comment..”this is the sort of thing that will provide jobs to the women …” Even when a Scots girl (brought up in UK, with a business man father) incites bloody massacre on British streets ….how can the women in Pak, a Muslim country, do jobs, when scores of men there are jobless and the aid given by US to be used for betterment of the people, is completely used for Military . And will Islam allow the country to be ruled in a democratic way.?

      Rezali,

I can see the rudiments of logic in your statement, which makes me sympathetic to you. But, as an Islamic supremacist, there are some facts you can’t get around.

      1) You wish for countries to follow the democratic process: yet, Islam itself is a non-democratic system, and Islamic countries cannot protect human liberties. Islam itself mandates discriminatory and abusive treatment towards non-Muslims. Also, democracies are susceptible to cabals of people going after special interests, and Islam is the perfect religion for cabals. So, any rights or liberties formally guaranteed under a democratic government in an Islamic country are eroded.

Egypt couldn’t wait for the next election to get rid of Morisi. First, he was doing irreparable harm. Second, the Muslim Brotherhood was organizing politically, using violent tactics, to use the full power of the government to keep Morsi and itself in power.

The closest Muslim countries can come to democracy is to hold elections with a non-elected body, like the military, to guarantee that a secular model will be followed. This worked in Turkey, until the Islamists used the judicial and political structure to smash the traditional guardians of Turkish freedoms, the military command.

      2) You wish for economic progress and you want the US to help by sending aid to industries you think would be effective for development. You have the right idea. Peter Drucker in his books on economic development, asserted repeatedly that the most effective businesses for growing a country were smaller businesses that actually provided services to people. He used the example of cosmetics, but I’m sure your idea of contraceptives is completely consistent.

But, the problem with that is that government to government aid simply doesn’t work. In fact, international aid actually hurts the economic development of a country. Peter Bauer studied this extensively…
      https://relooney.fatcow.com/SI_Expeditionary/Aid_10.pdf
One reason is that an influx of unearned money distorts the natural economic incentives of a country, and may destroy the native producers of essential goods, like farmers. Read up on it yourself.

But more important, Islam itself makes economic development impossible. The few wealthy Islamic countries turn out to be literally floating on oil lakes pumped by foreign workers, and controlled by moronic rulers, like the Sultan of Brunei.

Islam itself was founded by a robber, pirate, thief, and murderer, so there is no inherent respect for property rights in Islamic law or custom. There is no respect in Islam for the rights, even the right to life, of non-Muslims. And, Islam mandates death for any type of thinking seen as heresy, to be carried out by any man in the street.

Economic development absolutely cannot occur without property rights. Economic development cannot occur without the ability to try out new ideas and new methods. And economic development cannot occur in the face of systematic persecution of women, and non-Muslim, the very people with the most incentive to start businesses.

You mention the threat of India to your Pakistan. I think India would be far less of a threat if Pakistan stopped supporting Islamist separatists in Kashmir, and if the ISI stopped supporting terrorist actions aimed against Indian cities. And if Pakistan stopped the systematic persecution of Hindus unlucky enough to believe the assurances of equality that were made when Pakistan was first created.

What a sad, sad waste. Magnificent cricketer, educated and sophisticated; how wondrous is Islam, that can turn such a man into an unthinking vegetable.
How would he ‘modernise’ Pakistan? By making it fully Islamic, sharia the governing ‘wisdom’?

    Update. Here’s the clip (mp3 250kB, 15 secs)

As is clear from the article itself, it’s about Pakistan’s internal politics. It isn’t a real jihad or terrorism story. Just a convenient political move by the powers that be to protect their own fiefdom. It’s Pakistan, not Germany. Qadri’s Minhaj-ul-Quran (NGO) and Awami Tehrik (People’s Movement) party were becoming politically too powerful. The Minhaj building in Lahore was attacked by the police in June and some supporters killed in the process. That too was essentially a political attack. Also see Wikipedia article on “2014 Lahore clash”. Pakistan going to be Pakistan.
