Every day Britain grows more absurd, more insane. It would be amusing if it didn’t involve the abject surrender and self-destruction of a once-great nation. “Former head of human rights charity accused of leading double life as terrorist fundraiser,” by David Blair and Richard Spencer, the Telegraph, September 20, 2014:
In the summer of 2007, two prominent Somali Islamists left their war-torn country for the tranquillity of Qatar’s capital, Doha. The men were put up in the five-star Millennium Hotel before addressing a seminar on the evils of Western intervention in their homeland.
In a Gulf state with no qualms about hosting radicals from across the Muslim world, there was nothing unusual about this event, save for the fact that one organiser had already crossed America’s radar screen for his alleged extremist sympathies.
Abdul Rahman al-Nuaimi would later be designated by the US Treasury as a “global terrorist” and accused of sitting at the centre of a web of funding for al-Qaeda affiliates in countries ranging from Yemen to Syria, and from Iraq to Somalia.
Although he protests his innocence, Mr Nuaimi was singled out last December for US sanctions, including a travel ban and asset freeze.
Despite this public designation, Mr Nuaimi is believed to remain at liberty in Doha.
Until he was named by the US Treasury, he was president of Al-Karama, a charity based in Geneva that describes itself as an “independent human rights organisation” dedicated to helping victims of abuses in the “Arab world”.
Mr Nuaimi, 60, has previously worked as a professor of history at Qatar University and even as president of the Qatar Football Association. As such, he appeared to have a dual existence, serving in the worlds of academia and human rights advocacy while, according to the US treasury, raising money for terrorism.
Mr Nuaimi’s official US Treasury designation alleges that he “ordered the transfer” of nearly $600,000 (£366,000) to “al-Qaeda” via an individual named as “al-Qaeda’s representative in Syria”.
He had supposedly planned to pass on another $50,000 (£30,000), but this seems to have been thwarted.
Earlier, he had allegedly served as a significant fundraiser for al-Qaeda’s affiliate in Iraq, possibly overseeing the transfer of as much as “$2 million (£1.2 million) per month”, according to the US Treasury.
He is also alleged to have liaised between wealthy “Qatari nationals” and “al-Qaeda in Iraq leaders”.
Mr Nuaimi is accused of helping the Iraqi insurgency in the period just after the US-led invasion in 2003.
One of the tasks he allegedly performed was taking messages from the insurgents to “media outlets”, presumably including Al Jazeera, the satellite news channel based in Doha.
The Treasury believes that Mr Nuaimi’s alleged work as a Doha-based terrorist financier went beyond al-Qaeda’s affiliates in Iraq and Syria. He is also accused of passing $250,000 (£150,000) to al-Shabaab, the terrorist movement’s East Africa wing. This transfer allegedly took place in 2012.
In the same year, Mr Nuaimi is also accused of passing an undisclosed sum of money to a charity linked to al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, the network’s affiliate in Yemen.
Mr Nuaimi’s alleged extremist sympathies had been evident for some years before his supposed activities as a terrorist fundraiser.
A leaked cable from the US Embassy in Doha in 2007 describes him as an “Islamist hardliner” and states that he was briefly jailed in 2000, for criticising the wife of Qatar’s then ruler for her role in public life.
From then on, Mr Nuaimi was “closely watched”, states the cable. Despite this, the event he organised in Doha with the Somali Islamists in 2007 was allowed to go ahead with the “tacit blessing” of the government.
Meanwhile, his alleged part in funding terrorism took place after his supposed views became known.
Jay Boo says
In order to bring him to trial it will first be necessary to find him.
He might hiding be in the US employed as a senior level executive at Homeland Security.
Charli Main says
Many a truth spoken in jest !!!
eh! um! you were jesting, were you not ?????
Jay Boo says
I hope that I am only jesting but, after that recent article at JW about the shady Muslim Homeland Security Advisor stepping down from his post, one can never be sure what mischief the Obama administration is up to.
Kathy Brown says
Are you kidding, ‘jesting’?
The Zero Admin. is a hotbed of Islamic radicals! Linda Sarsour; Elibiarry; not to mention the constant to’ing-and-fro’ing of every Muslim Brotherhood Organization (Hamas, MSA, CAIR, etc.) in ‘meetings’ with the admin.
Zero and co. are loath to give up their mantra: 1. We love the underdogs (‘Palestinians’) and 2. Given-my-charm-and-Muslim-background-I-and-I-alone-can-transform-the-ravening-hordes. Just look at his idiocy in Iraq: ‘We want them to have a diverse, inclusive gov’t!’. OK?
Alas! Mu-Slimes never met an ‘other’ they didn’t hate. And Someone said, ‘Pride goeth before a fall…’.

The entire UK government and security services must be bought and paid for, or somehow compromised, for this beyond Orwellian farce to obtain.
Babs says
The comments section for that article was closed in short order – no doubt because people were giving Qatar and the UK government the verbal kicking they so richly deserve.
I am a UK citizen and time was when I was much more proud to be so than I am now. Truth is, I am ashamed of our leaders’ supine dhimmitude. I am not easily fooled any longer. My government, by selling out to Islamism big style – see below – has proved to me and my people that they don’t give a damn about my or my family’s future.
Qatar owns a lot of the UK and it and Saudi have their nasty little fingers in all strata of society, including the funding of our universities.
“Qatar owns a sizeable chunk of properties and assets in the UK, including the
prestigious Harrods department store, the former Olympic Village, the Shard
building, no 1 Hyde Park (the world’s most expensive block of flats), 20% of the
London Stock Exchange, 20% of Camden market, shares in Barclays Bank, Sainsbury’s supermarkets and more.”
(source: http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/ari-sofer-uk-pro-israel-activists.html )
Add to that the welcome mat rolled out for Hamas (which has an office in London) and the Muslim Brotherhood (ditto) and I am bitter but not at all suprised that the UK is a haven for Islamists and their fellow travellers.
But it disgusts me. My solace is that I didn’t vote in any of this lot.

As a fellow Brit I have been beating this drum for over a decade.
I’ve been called a racist, have jettisoned many once good friends and have now eventually re-ordered my life to avoid their abject degrading and grovelling pc driven dhimmidom.
Many of the forty to fifty year old university educated ones seem to have an almost perverse delight in having the token Ahmeds and Iqbals within their fringe circles and these Muslims, whilst holding decent jobs and receiving healthy salaries, have nothing but contempt towards the kuffar.
They are joined in this chorus by my once friends for whom left is branded into their very souls and diversity is the mantra.
The once working class Brits have been abandoned by this strata who basically view them with open contempt and thus the allegiance of the left has switched from an indiginous proletariat to an immigrant faction which goes a lot of way in explaining Rotherham, Trojan Horse and the growing prostration to a faith they know nothing about.
These people were senior social workers, architects, tv executives, photographers and such who do wield an influence dictated by our media, BBC, Sky and the higher echelons of big business.
For instance the new Sky News political editor goes by the name of Feisal Islam and I’m sure that station’s disgraceful output on the recent Gaza conflict is influenced by a mindset which will deliberately employ a Muslim in such a sensitive position.
They really do not get it and Cameron’s mantra of a good Islam and a bad one which has somehow perverted the faith is their guiding light.
Meanwhile the reality is mass rape in Rotherham, infiltration of education in Birmingham and the eight hundred British jihadis wallowing in death in Syria and Iraq.
This cannot last and discontent with political classes and opinion formers is rising exponentially.
Westminster is seen as hopelessly out of touch and as a political cocoon.
The msm whilst slithering along its complacent path is facing sterner internet driven adversaries and the whole cultural marxist cabal which not so long ago had it all stitched up is becoming a tottering edifice of complicit corruption.
It will get even worse before it gets better, of that I am convinced but classic Muslim over reach and the arrogance built into the faith is doing the job and if the ruling classes aren’t listening many others are.
There could have been an easy way but that was not to be.
Britain now faces the hard way.
citycat says
This is one of the myriad tricks of Islam
Islam has to progress – creep and trick to gain ground to impose itself.
There is on quarter with Islam as can be clearly seen in Islam land.
citycat says
People used to call me a racist, now they say “don’t get me started on Islam”
Awareness is growing. There will be no surrender to Islam by the people, only by the powers.
TediNeo98 says
I have had the same experience; it is certainly taking time…finally people are starting to wake up. Through our open immigration policy, the area in which I live has large numbers of Muslim families-the teenage kid across the road has already been practising his jihad fantasies by screaming down the side walk on his skateboard, chasing me off the pavement and shouting, “You’re going to burn in hell!” This is Britain in 2014…My Grandad who fought in WWII must be turning in his grave.
Saleem Smith says
Another jihad financier.
So many of those folks.
All devout Muslims that take Islam seriously and want to impose the Sharia.
They study the Qur’an in minute detail and strive to practice all of “Allah’s laws” they find contained within. They painstakingly attempt to copy Muhammad’s every example found written in the Sunnah – including rape, pedophilia, assassination, murder.
But of course this has nothing to do with the text and teachings of Islamic theology.
To think such a thing would be “Islamophobic” thinking!
Can’t have that.
We ex-Muslims living with Islam’s formal and informal death penalty for apostasy know that Islam is a despicable fraud that needs to be abandoned yesterday.
Johnd says
As long as the West continues to deny the simple fact that Islam is evil, its problems wont go away. Muslims are not evil, but they may be deluded or brainwashed into believing evil is good, which is abundantly clear. If Allah was Satan, which may be a tempting thought but not to a rational person, he would be having a great old laugh at all the Westerners staring right at him but only seeing their cherished illusions. Pathetic.
ECAW says
But what does this have to do with Britain? Have I missed something – I see no connection between this man and Britain.
Mirren10 says
I can’t see it either.
Aardvark says
Yes, the only connection with the UK seems to be that the article was published in the Telegraph, a UK paper. This Nuaimi guy doesn’t seem to have ever set foot in the UK!
Is this a case of shooting the messenger?
Jay Boo says
That must be it
The article title begins with UK and a colon
I suppose this is to reference the source of the article
I am not a journalist so I was as confused as I suspect were most others reading about this story seeming to be in reference to the UK.
Babs says
It’s hardly surprising that the assumption was made, is it, given the UK’s propensity to welcome any Muslim flotsam and jetsum, no matter what terrorist connections it may have, to its shores without question?
dumbledoresarmy says
Yep, I was having real trouble seeing that, as well.
I couldn’t see anything in the article that suggested he had either a/ resided in Britain or b/ possessed a UK passport.
paddy says
I resent that opening comment. Great Britain is a very stable democratic nation. The fact that Scotland voted on independence demonstrates this. People in our nation have every right to express whatever political or religious opinion. You yanks living in your oh sooo yankified world came from this nation. Don’t you dare slander us. We are your friends, especially with this muslim menace that faces us.
Babs says
Granted the statement may be a tad hyperbolic and I agree that Scotland’s display of the democratic process was exemplary but you have surely witnessed or read about the extent to which this and previous UK governments have caved in to Islam/sharia?
Ordinarily I would agree with you that people have the right to express whatever political or religious opinion they wish but here’s the rub: that should never apply when, as with Islam and its slaves, they ensist that you agree with them and threaten you with violence if you do not or demand special privileges because of that belief system.
My wonderful UK is a shadow of itself because successive governments, rather than front up to Islam here, prefer to cave in to its demands, as a result of which the demands grow.
Charli Main says
But—but—but Babs, don´t forget the “enormous” contributions that the Muslims have made to Britain. Just ask Cameron, Clegg, Miliband, May and Tony Blair and they will provide countless examples of the “enormous” contributions that Muslims have made to the country and their tireless efforts to integrate into and adapt to the British way of life—————–
Kathy Brown says
Oh…and don’t forget Zero telling all us Americans how Muslims have been involved in our history from colonial days…uhh…perhaps George Washington was actually George al-Washingtoni…and Jefferson al-Jeffersoni…why, the possibilities are endless…
Babs says
😀 !!!
paddy says
Has there ever been a time in modern history when a free democratic nation with universal suffrage hasn’t faced some kind of extreme tendency? The voice of reason here in the UK and elsewhere in the free world will prevail.
Kathy Brown says
No Paddy: There hasn’t ‘been a time’ when free people didn’t face extremism. But supporting it? Enabling it?
That’s quite different.
Remember: The Mu-Slime scum are, overwhelmingly, on ‘public assistance’-both in the UK and here in the USA. Anjem Choudary gets about $30,000/yr. The great majority of these parasitical vermin don’t work; indeed Choudary has said that they all SHOULD ‘live off the kuffar’-that’s us-so that they CAN devote themselves, full-time, to jihad.
Kathy Brown says
No one is slandering the UK Paddy. The truth is a complete defense to charges of slander, or libel.
The UK’s dhimmification is a matter of record-appalling record. Nonetheless, as you say, we are more than friends: We are family.
I grew up with my father and uncles telling us all of the unparalleled courage of the Brits, who singlehandedly held off the Hun for 2 years before the USA got in WWII. My uncle wrote in his v-mail: ‘The English will never be conquered. If necessary the British women will kill the Germans in the streets with rolling pins and kitchen knives!’.
Do not doubt the solidarity of the patriots here, WITH the patriots of England.
Mirren10 says

Does anybody in the US really think we have any control as a majority of the people over what the government does on its own but not our behalf? I only hope and pray that Islam holds the seeds of its own destruction because the US govt. is aiding Islamic global terrorist conquest goals, imho, contrary to the majority of the taxpayers’ national security interests.

How much of the money was raised pursuant to zakat, the redistribution and Islamic statism pillar? You should know by now that zakat is not merely for helping “the poor and needy”, as reads at the Wikipedia article for the 5 pillars.
Ciccio says
Zakat is not only for helping the poor and needy. It is also to be used for the propagation of the faith – dawa- support of the clergy and JIHAD. This is clearly stayed in every Islamic text.

“How Qatar bought Britain: They own the Shard. They own the Olympic Village. And they don’t care if their Lamborghinis get clamped when they shop at Harrods (which is theirs, too)”
