Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

UK: KFC customer refused hand-wipe to avoid offending Muslims

Sep 28, 2014 4:25 pm By Robert Spencer

KFCLeicesterMore absurd self-subjugation in Deranged Britannia. The local Muslim groups haven’t even demanded this; KFC just did it preemptively. Isn’t assuming that Muslims will grow enraged over alcohol-based hand-wipes a kind of “Islamophobia”?

“Leicester KFC customer shocked as he is refused hand-wipe because of branch’s halal policy,” by Yasmin Duffin, Leicester Mercury, September 28, 2014 (thanks to Stu):

A customer at a Leicester branch of KFC has said he was “shocked” when he was refused a hand-wipe as it might offend other restaurant-goers.

Graham Noakes, 41, said he was astonished when staff at the fast food chain’s outlet in St George’s retail park refused to give him a hand-wipe because it was against its Halal policy.

Staff said this was because the wipes are soaked in an alcohol-infused liquid. Alcohol is forbidden in the Muslim Holy book, the Quran.

The Leicester-based Federation of Muslim Organisations has called the decision “bizarre”.

Graham said: “They told me it might offend other customers.

“I explained that it wouldn’t affect me. In fact – I told them I like alcohol, so it wouldn’t bother me in the slightest.

“When they wouldn’t give me one, I was disgusted.

“I will never be going to KFC again.”

The father-of-two added: “I’ve never experienced anything like this before, I couldn’t believe it.

“Why shouldn’t I be allowed a wipe for my hands?

“They use wipes in hospital, what happens when we start being told we can’t have wipes there?

“I just can’t understand it.”

Graham, who lives in Birmingham, is working in Leicester on the construction of a new Muslim community centre in Highfields.

Halal is the Arabic word for ‘lawful’ and relates to what is allowed in the context of Islamic law, but is often used in conjunction with the issue of how meat is dealt with.

Suleman Nagdi, spokesman for the Leicester-based Federation of Muslim Organisations, said: “I know alcohol is prohibited in the Muslim community, but I don’t understand why you can’t use hand-wipes – there’s nothing wrong with it.

“Using alcohol doesn’t mean you’re consuming it.

“It seems like an unusual decision to be made.

“In fact, it sounds bizarre.”

Suleman said such decisions potentially provoked some people to start “lashing out” at the Muslim community.

“I’ve never come across anything like this before,” he added.

“KFC have made a commercial decision to do this, and now the Muslim community will face backlash.”

So pandering will supposedly cause backlash against Muslims, and not pandering will cause backlash from Muslims. What to do?

A KFC spokesman said the company had been running a halal trial since 2010, in “areas where there has been demand from our customers”, such as the restaurant in St George’s Retail Park.

He said that as a result “a small number of products from our usual menu are not available”, and in addition the St George’s branch had decided not to stock wet wipes that contain alcohol”.

The Mercury understands that the branch is waiting for its stock of alcohol-based wipes to be replaced with lemon-based wipes.

The spokesman added: “Wherever possible, we have taken steps to ensure that our halal restaurants are close to a non-halal store to cater to all of our customers’ needs, and, in this case, customers wanting a non-halal option can visit our nearby restaurant in Braunstone.”

Seems obvious that unless alcohol leads to intoxication Muslims are just making the stupid kuffar run in circles and laughing at us. Not that our intoxication is their business.

      Exactly, Beagle.

While denying the availability of hand wipes in a KFC may result in nothing worse than greasy fingers, in a hospital it can mean sepsis and infection and even death.

And this story gives the lie to the Taqiyya from the Federation of Muslim Organizations that Muslims would never oppose the use of non-consumable alcohol.

In trying to attract a few Muslim ones – KFC is driving away others.

The food doesn’t taste the same – the familiar taste with the famous chicken – from when we were children – is not there in halal. There is something lifeless or tasteless about it and it is more likely to be dry. I thought they were skimping on quality – until I learned it was halal.

KFC have at times placed these halal outlets in areas – where there are conservative Muslims – mainly immigrants – who very likely don’t have the means to buy the food – or don’t have the same association with the brand – the women are 85% or more covered in burqas – and the men in beards with their pants a few inches off their ankles – but KFC’s computers say that there are ‘Muslims’ in the area!

    They are fundamentalists!!

And when I walk by the restaurant – and I’ve purposely set out to look – and even on occasion while in there – I have never seen a Muslim customer – either waiting in line or seated.

I had some Muslim neighbors years ago – who claimed they only ate halal – but made the exception with KFC.

    What is KFC doing exactly?

    :: ::

Someone should film these ‘halal’ KFC branches for a day – gather proof that they are in fact ignoring their customer base.

    It’s quite simple.

Everyone should boycott KFC, until they reverse this insane policy. I don’t think there are enough mohammedans yet in the UK to keep KFC afloat, if all non-mohammedans refuse to eat there, and furthermore, write letters to Head Office, telling them why they are being boycotted.

But they won’t. It’s a damn sight easier to chunter, rather than be inconvenienced.

I haven’t bought a Subway sandwich since the story here about them a)using halal meat, and b) refusing to serve bacon in certain restaurants.

I’ve only ever eaten KFC chicken once, and thought it was disgusting, so boycotting it is no hardship, but I’d do so even if I loved the stuff.

While travelling in one Muslim country – on long journeys on the bus – in the hot climate – someone would go around to each person – and put this lemon/lime alcohol or limacol – into your hands – and you would rub your hands together and put it on your face to cool down.

      KFC are being played.

What will be forbidden to KFC-Islam next?

These Muslims are playing religious games – someone who worked in Domino’s/Pizza Hut [a few years ago] said all of a sudden – these Muslim guys started showing up to the store, asking for halal pizza. And then another one would show up and ask the same question.

They were not the usual customers – but where trying to seem to be applying pressure – to get those shops to change their menu to halal.

I’ve had Pizza Hut in the Muslim world and the pepperoni is not the same. It tasted like there was something missing!

What KFC is doing is like focusing on Shari’a complaint mortgages over – interest rate mortgages for the rest of the population – it just doesn’t make business sense.

KFC can’t tell their customers to do 20 miles down the road – for what they used to get at the local store – and when they complain – call or imply that they are racists or intolerant – and expect the same level of brand loyalty.

        Sep 29, 2014 at 1:14 am

That is very true for Turkey, I experienced there while traveling around. Normal, this happened after a refreshment stop. This doesn’t happen in Indonesia.

Any-way what is wrong with the bloke, why couldn’t he use the wash basin soap and water, failing that use a serviette.

        • gravenimage says

          Sep 29, 2014 at 6:16 pm

Few KFCs have restrooms, so washing up with soap and water is seldom an option.

Moreover, many people get this kind of fast food to go, and may not have access to soap and water at their destination.

And serviettes—napkins to you Yanks out there—are not as efficient as wipes.

But all of this is beside the point—this is just another case of Muslim demands—or even perceived Muslim demands, in this case—leading to greater inconvenience for civilized Infidels.

And worse that this, this sort of minor inconvenience softens up the Kuffar, and allows for creeping Shari’ah.

And full Shari’ah law is not just an inconvenience—it is a bloody atrocity.

This is just the top edge of a very slippery slope.

      “Brian Hoff”—really, “DefenderofIslam”—wrote:

      ……………………………….

Firstly, why should civilized Infidels care one way or another what Islam “allow” to its own adherents?

We wouldn’t, but for one thing: Islam enjoins its followers to impose Islamic law *on everyone*, Muslims and Infidels alike.

“DefenderofIslam” is no doubt fine with his vile coreligionists making it illegal for any non-Muslims to “display” wine and alcohol.

Moreover, his implication that all Muslims allow the use of alcohol for medicinal purposes is an absolute lie.

His literally filthy coreligionists—doctors and nurses, mind you!—are already refusing to properly sterilize their hands because of their avoidance of alcohol:

There are modern Christian religions which have extraordinary rules with regard to consumption of alcohol as well. Pretty much the same rule as the Muslim one. Check out Jehova’s Witnesses, Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints, (Mormons), and Seventh Day Adventists for starters.

None of the sects you name refuse to handle alcohol when they are being paid to do so, none of them attack people on the streets for drinking alcohol.

And KFC isn’t refusing to supply alcohol based wipes because of Mormon’s or 7th Day Adventists, or Jehovah Witnesses.

Jehovah’s Witnesses (Russellites) do permit the moderate consumption of beer, wine and spirits. If you ask them, they will say that this is because Jesus drank alcohol, according to the Gospels.

However, JWs strongly dislike smoking or chewing tobacco, almost as much as most Mormons dislike it.

Good God—”Jehova’s Witnesses (sic), Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints, (Mormons), and Seventh Day Adventists” are not trying to impose their prohibitions *on us*—but Muslims are.

Under dhimmitude, no Infidel is allowed to “display” wine or alcohol. Muslims in Dar-al-Islam regularly bomb liquor shops and hotels and restaurants that serve alcohol.

And don’t think this hasn’t started here—Muslims have trashed liquor stores in Oakland, California, and Muslims in London and Paris have attacked people on the street who are legally consuming alcohol.

I rarely drink alcohol myself—but I am not trying to violently impose my own habits on other people.

Islam and its practice by Muslims: insane deceit and/or insane cruelty. The Halal bugaboo is utterly insane.

From Halal hand wipes to Halal animal slaughter, insane deceit (because most Muslims violate Halal and commit Haram regularly in the West when outside the mosque, then play the “poor us” card in Western economic situations for PR and press purposes) and insane cruelty because throat-slitting (and other maiming) in Halal slaughter of animals is disgusting.

The Islamic insane cruelty of fixation on the pain of throat-slitting extends beyond Muslims beheading humans in the 21st century to Muslims on a daily basis beheading animals for Halal slaughter. It is creepy beyond measure. I’m boycotting all Halal establishments and have written to several companies expressing why I will be removing my business.

Here’s how slaughter works in the U.S. (or is supposed to) under our more humane rules, unlike the Muslim Halal cruelty toward animals: http://modernfarmer.com/2013/04/this-is-what-humane-slaughter-looks-like-is-it-good-enough/

Anybody sane (or not bought off) who learns about Muslim culture — beyond the outward deceptive facade they present to Westerners when they have not achieved political dominance in a country — would no more embrace Muslim culture or its practitioners than they would embrace a criminally insane murderer or the Nazi Gestapo.

All right, but let me ask you: is there any real difference between Muslim halal slaughter, and the Jewish kosher slaughter? And, if there isn’t any, shouldn’t kosher be boycotted as well?

        Sep 29, 2014 at 12:46 pm

Where will you boycott a kosher KFC? Even the majority of KFCs in Israel are non-Kosher. Rather than boycott, DEMAND non-halal.

        Sep 29, 2014 at 2:46 pm

Kosher pays attention to sanitation in the entire process, as well as tries to give the animal a quick and relatively painless death. islam (RTC) has no notions of sanitation, and is hellish for the animal. Is that enough of a difference for you?

So, offending non-Muslims is fine, just don’t offend Muslims? It is time for those of us offended by this policy to let KFC and other businesses that fear offending Muslims know their offensive policies work both ways. Boycotting KFC might work, unless it is an area where the store’s majority customer base IS Muslim.

Alcohol in hand wipes is iso-propyl alcohol ( a non-indigestible alcohol that causes blindness if drunken ) Much different than the alcohol in booze or wine. How stupid.

  27. nothosaur says

    Sep 29, 2014 at 9:16 am

Ethyl alcohol (beverage alcohol) is haram probably because Muhammed had a mystical objection to being under the influence. (Somebody correct me if I’m wrong — did he have another objection?)

Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) was unknown in Muhammed’s day, and metabolizes into acetone, and is far too deadly for consumption: unlike ethyl alcohol, the margin between drunkeness and fatal overdose is very thin. An 8 oz bottle of isopropyl alcohol contains a potentially lethal dose for humans.

Methyl alcohol (fuel/solvent alcohol) would likely be next on the ban list of some dhimmi’s industrial business if weren’t so useful in modern life. It was unknown in Muhammed’s day, and metabolizes into formaldehyde. If ingested, it will cause neurological damage/blindness. As little as 2 ounces may be fatal.

Muhammed, if he knew about these latter 2 chemical compositions, would not likely have objected to their designed uses. But, then again, he had no idea about microscopic germs, spandex fibers or shampoo.

No matter! What is important is that Muslims see non-muslims trying their hardest to accomodate them, and to maintain a satisfactory self-image of absurd tolerence.

Gosh, I haven’t had KFC for years.
Eventually one gets over it & moves on….
Maybe the clientele at this KFC is almost exclusively Muslim.
Because everyone else is on KFC overload.
The customer is always right is how business stays in business.
This establishment has it’s head on correctly, the Almighty Buck is where it is at for this KFC.

Very weird. I think the precept against alcohol is about drinking it. Alcohol can also be a medicine. Somebody is overreacting.

Either this article is a lie or that KFC is stupid. It is only against hardcore Islam to consume alcohol for becoming intoxicated. It’s also worth noting that the Quran says you should make attempts to be as clean as you are able, especially when receiving food because it shows respect for God’s gift. I’m not even religious and I know that.

What the unholy Koran and the rest of islam (RTC) about hygiene is so pathetic, it hurts. Try again.

Chris J, you seem to believe that Islam is a rational and decent creed. I’m afraid you are *quite* mistaken.

  31. Uncle Vladdi says

The primary Hanifi sharia “legal” manual, The Hedaya, notes that it isn’t alcohol itself which is haram, only certain kinds of alcoholic beverages (wine, etc).

When those alcoholic beverages which Moe didn’t SPECIFICALLY deny are used (to sanitize, or even to drink) it isn’t illegal, only the getting VERY intoxicated part is!

After all, in islam as in all crimimal enterprises, all is allowed except that which is very specifically forbidden!

    😉

In réponse to my remark that he could have used the wash basin

    craven said
Few KFCs have restrooms, so washing up with soap and water is seldom an option.

That is strange, because here in Indonesia the kids in my village just love KFC so whenever I bring then into the city, as a treat I take them to a KFC, and each one has had toilets and hand basins.

So I ran a google search to see if this branch had a toilet, and yes it did.

Visited KFC in st George’s retail park 9/11/13 took my 2.5 year old son to the toilet & was discusted with cleanliness then went to the disabled toilet to find even worst, absolutely discusting will not be going there again!!

    http://www.bigreddirectory.com/kfc-10-st-georges-retail-park-leicester

Strange he did not complain about the place being dirty, If the toilets where dirty, chances are the kitchen is also up to standard.

    Further more Spencer blames KFC

    Spencer said
The local Muslim groups haven’t even demanded this; KFC just did it preemptively.

No they did not, it was the manager of one outlet. In a statement,

KFC said alcohol-based hand-wipes were approved for use in all its restaurants, including those taking part in its halal trial.

The company added: “There was a misunderstanding at the store in question, but the wipes are now being used again.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/religion/11128246/KFC-leaves-Muslims-baffled-after-branch-drops-alcohol-hand-wipes-in-halal-mix-up.html

Spencer also takes another swipe at Britain, when it could more than likely the store manager was a moslem.

Also KFC is an amerika owned franchise

    • gravenimage says

      Sep 30, 2014 at 12:53 pm

You have said nothing here that contradict what either Robert Spencer or I said.

This franchisee represents KFC, and his actions are either dhimmitude or creeping Shari’ah. Given that the local Muslim shills expressed false dismay, one may consider it unlikely that the manager is himself Muslim.

And if the use of wipes are here being banned because it might offend Muslims, there is no reason to think that that would change if the KFC outlet in question didn’t have a restroom, as many do not.

And this would not help in any case were the customer to get the order to go, which is *very common* with fast food.

Semeru – I was lamenting the fact that this dhimmitude to Islamic supremacism was linked with St George, not celebrating it.
St George slew the Dragon just as we Englishmen will destroy Islam.
