Our organization, the human rights advocacy group the American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI), has unveiled a new advertising campaign that boldly tells truths that the U.S. government and the mainstream media seem determined to obfuscate. Our crowdfunder at Indiegogo is in its final days — and we need your help. These funds enable us to buy these ads for hundreds of buses. How many? It depends on how much we can raise. It depends on YOU.
The series of six ads is now running on 100 New York City buses. One key new ad points up the uselessness of the distinction between “moderate” and “extremist” Muslims, depicting two photos of Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary, a London-based Muslim who pursued a career as a rap artist until he turned to jihad and went to the Islamic State. The first photo shows Abdel Bary as a rapper; the second as a jihadist, holding up a severed head. The ad bears the legend, “Yesterday’s moderate is today’s headline.”
The United States and other Western nations have paid insufficient attention to the fact that Muslim communities in the West have not made any concerted effort to expel supporters of jihad terror from their midst, and have done nothing at all to teach against the jihadist understanding of Islam, even though they ostensibly reject it. This has the effect that we see illustrated by the trajectory of Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary: people taken as “moderate” turn out to be “extremist.”
Another new ad paraphrases and expands upon another statement by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to emphasize the sameness of the beliefs and goals of various jihad groups – and one of their chief U.S. enablers: “Hamas is ISIS. Hamas is al-Qaeda. Hamas is Boko Haram. Hamas is CAIR in America. Jihad is jihad.” The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has had several of its officials convicted of jihad terror activity, and has opposed every counter-terror measure ever proposed or enacted. It also has been shown to have abundant links to Hamas. This is not the “moderate” group of media myth.
The third ad quotes Netanyahu stating another unpopular truth: “Hamas is using civilians as human shields. We use missiles to protect our people. They use their people to protect their missiles.”
The fourth ad points out that “Christians are becoming extinct everywhere in the Middle East except Israel” and calls for an end to U.S. aid to Islamic countries in light of the ongoing and increasing Muslim persecution of Christians.
Two of the ads have run before, including the ad that became the focus of a landmark freedom of speech court case that AFDI won against politically correct attempts to silence resistance to jihad terror. It reads: “In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. Support Israel. Defeat jihad.”
Controversial during its first run for calling jihadis “savages,” now this ad has been abundantly vindicated by the savagery of the Islamic State. As numerous political leaders, including Barack Obama, call the ISIS jihadis “savages” or “barbarians,” AFDI has been shown to have been right all along.
Another controversial AFDI ad making a repeat appearance is the one depicting Adolf Hitler with Haj Amin al-Husseini, the Mufti of Jerusalem, and stating: “Islamic Jew-Hatred. It’s in the Qur’an.” Here again, with Muslim anti-Semitism rising and becoming increasingly violent worldwide, AFDI has been shown to be right.
AFDI plans to roll out these ads across the country on buses and train stations in major cities.
AFDI stands for:
- The freedom of speech – as opposed to Islamic prohibitions of “blasphemy” and “slander,” which are used effectively to quash honest discussion of jihad and Islamic supremacism;
- The freedom of conscience – as opposed to the Islamic death penalty for apostasy;
- The equality of rights of all people before the law – as opposed to Sharia’s institutionalized discrimination against women and non-Muslims.
This crowdfunder at Indiegogo enables us to buy these ads for hundreds of buses. Please help us tell the truths the media won’t dare tell.

Robert, I believe I saw that you have been forced to accept that the ads have a big disclaimer (by the applicable authorities) inserted at the bottom. Do you get a reduction in the advertising fee for the area consumed by the disclaimer? I mean, you aren’t being forced to pay for the transit authority’s disclaimer, are you? It is not right that you should pay for that. You should only pay for the ad-space that you consume.

I know it’s a very long shot, but is it possible for AFDI to buy ad airtime on any of the major TV networks?
Fox news may be…
Bus ads are not enough.

I think that in addition to the adverts, all non- muslims should boycott muslim owned or muslim dominated businesses. Don’t fly with Etihad or Qatar or Emirates etc and don’t buy from your muslim corner store, hardware shop or whatever.

Eventually it will come to this, although it may take years: the civilized world will realize that Islam breeds violence and terrorism, and must be declared an evil belief system. Of course evil can never be completely eliminated without resorting to thought-control; mind-control, but Islam must lose its standing as being a sane and civilized system of belief.
The sooner that Nations realize this, the sooner sanity will prevail over evil.

The term moderate islam is ugly and offensive. There is no moderate islam. Islam is islam. Spoken by Recep T. Erdogan….currently the Turkish Prime Minister.
We should be making this point, using the words of the moslems themselves.
I’m sorry, but I think American Freedom Defense Initiative is attacking the problem from the wrong perspective. We have to take the moslem’s words and use them against them. We have to rub what they say in the faces of the unbelieving general public and make them understand what the moslems are saying. They are saying it very clearly. We are just not listening.

Standby for the suppression of free speech. The concepts of blasphemy and “islamaphobia” are in direct opposition to all the tenets of freedom and democracy.
Somehow Islamism must be defrocked of its status as a valid religion and exposed as the criminal enterprise that it really is, complete with all the hallmarks of gang behavior such as thuggery, threats of violence, gangland colors and gestures and ridiculous claims of victimhood.

Right wingers on this site please stop.
President Obama is not a “muslim” embracing and working with ISIS.
He’s a misguided kumbiya liberal, who like other “we are all one” believers is only now coming to grips with the religiously directed threat of fundamentalist Islam. Remember, this is a direct contradiction to the kumbiya belief system that all men are essentially good — so at least understand their resistance to see evil and fascism in this belief system/religion– until it hits them in the face.
Remember, not smelling the coffee over political threats is not just the purview of the left. The isolationist right wing in the 1930’s pushed against stopping Hitler’s National Socialist movement until it was too late. The results: millions of lives and billions of dollars lost with Europe in shreds. However, the left missed the boat for USSR in the 50’s & 60’s – ignoring the mass killing gulag’s and the Soviet Group think authoritarianism throughout eastern Europe and beyond.
Those that do see the Islamic threat clearly today – whether left or right – should stop turning this into a confrontation against political groups. There are different reasons why the media, some politicians and normal citizens have not fully processed what’s really going on. Some our psychological, some are religious…some out of fear.
But more are starting now to see it and this should be encouraged more and embraced…not attacked for others lack of foresight. Provoke them…push them…but still try to help them.
This ad campaign does that and should be promoted — despite resistance from those still blind.
Yours truly,
Progressive Realist

How much will a nation’s (ours) responses-to-dangers have to increase and change from what we thought “proper,” in the face of a greater danger now?
In British India, a military officer threatened those who practiced suttee (widow-burning) with hanging. “You have our custom, we have ours.”
Did Gen. Pershing in the Philippines kill 49 Muslim terrorists and bury them with slaughtered pigs hence blocking them from Paradise, let one man escape to tell tale, and that terminated attacks for years? (Or urban legend? In any case…)
One thinker said a better response to Iran’s hostage-taking, would have been: (1) say: release them or we start bombing your facilities (electricity, etc.) until you do. (2) If any of them are harmed, we start bombing your military facilities.
Recently, seven Middle-eastern people were apprehended near Boston’s water reservoir after midnight. They said they were “water engineers.” What happened in that case? What should have happened? (Just for one scenario, were the individuals (1) interrogated thoroughly, then (2) terminated if it was clear that their demise while doing in effect jihad would NOT get them to Paradise in this case after all?)
Will we be able to respond to savage barbaric enemy by sufficiently “mirroring” their level of threat? (Assuming such as the above is a M.O. to follow…)
