Yesterday on my regular spot on Michael’s Sun TV show. Topic summary and video courtesy AlohaSnackbar01:
1) Revert Jah’Keem Yisrael (né Alton Nolen) beheaded a co-worker in Oklahoma.
2) The foundational and fundamental aspects of beheading in Islam.
3) Mohamed Mohamud sentenced to 30 years over plot to bomb at a crowded 2010 Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Portland, Oregon.
4) Iran executes man for saying a story in the Koran may be symbolic.

We need Sun TV in the US on Direct TV. I will trade MSNBC, Al Jazeera, and ten random channels out of hundreds I never watch.

Good one Robert..Thanks yet again.

Robert, you are one of the people I most respect in the world right now, but I have to tell you off. Please stop calling converts to Islam ‘reverts’. It is Muslim believers who consider them reverts; in the neutral, non-Muslim point-of-view they are ‘converts’.
Considering them ‘reverts’ is part of Islamic Supremacism, and is the only ‘dhimmi’ thing I have ever seen you do. It is part of the Muslim supremacist narrative because Muhammad/Islam cleverly discerned the political advantages of the concept that people are born Muslims, but are corrupted out of it — this concept places the kuffar relative to Islamic theocracy, in a position more like that of a traitor than that of an enemy; the Kuffar was Muslim but he was corrupted/betrayed out of it. In this narrative, Muhammad has ‘traitorized’ the non-Muslim. ( This ‘traitorization’ of the non-Muslim due to no coincidence mirrors what he did to the theology of Jews and Christians, which he explains as having once been Islamic but having betrayed/corrupted its original Muslim nature. He ‘traitorized’ the Christian and Jewish religions just as he traitorized non-Muslim people.) In all societies, and surely in human nature itself, traitors are more despised and more hated than are enemies. In fact, there is often a warrior code protecting enemies, but there is never a code to protect traitors. Muhammad has capitalized on this aspect of human nature and culture, and the narrative increases the Muslim’s ability to hate the kuffar.
Every time you call a Muslim convert a ‘revert’ you reflect and support Muhammad’s narrative traitorizing non-Muslims and allowing Muslims to demonize the kuffar. Please stop. People who convert to Islam are converts, and it is only Muslims and dhimmis who should call them reverts.
OK?
AlohaSnackbar says
While you and I and Robert understand the meaning of the word “revert,” the average person does not. I therefore use it to reveal just one of the crazier aspects of Islam: that we are all born Muslim, that Adam & Eve were Muslim, that the two Jewish temples on the Temple Mount were masjids (a claim made by Zafar Bangash on his weekly television show).
Joe Murphy says
alohaSnackbar, thanks, that helps me to understand why you would do that.
A further element for your consideration is that there are many genuine cognitive dhimmis who use the word ‘revert’ in a politically correct way, in order to please and support the convert in question, calling him or her what they like to be called. The problem with your using it with a counter-Jihadi purpose is that without scare quotes around it, it can look as if you are in cognitive dhimmitude supporting this usage, and you can therefore be inadvertently furthering this usage yourself.
On consideration I think the best compromise if you want to use it in the way you do is for you to use ‘scare quotes’ around it, to indicate that you do not ultimately support the word. Like: 1) ”Revert” Jah’Keem Yisrael. This way you get the punch you intend (of showing the strangeness of the concept) while making it clear that it is not something you support, and which you will therefore not propagate.
Does this make sense? Thankyou for responding, and I respect the way you and Robert have have shown professionalism and absence of hostility to critical feedback.
Robert Spencer says
Joe, I’ve never, ever, called converts to Islam “reverts.” You must be thinking of someone else.
nacazo says
I think aloha snackbar did but you can change it robert. at least in your blog.
Joe Murphy says
“Joe, I’ve never, ever, called converts to Islam “reverts.” You must be thinking of someone else.”
Robert, I’ve given you a good chance to change the quote and you have not. I gave you a good chance to save face. But unless you change the quote, to a certain extent, you have in fact called converts to Islam “reverts”.
This is because, if you quote another in a supportive as opposed to a critical and neutral way, that quote becomes to an extent your own. Think about this. If you go through a good set of examples in your head, you will conclude that this is obviously true. So, yes, this having being brought to your attention, if you do not change it, I don’t think you can claim a record entirely clean of using the Islamofascist and dhimmi term ‘reverts’ for converts to Islam.
As it stands, you have to an extent, used the dhimmi term ‘reverts’ for converts to Islam.
Do you deny this?
Joe Murphy says
Robert,
I apologize then for my misplaced telling-off. It looks like AlohaSnackbar01 is the culprit. You’re quoting him in the article above, in the ‘topic summary’ but I did not see it easily as a quote. Your quoting of him is offset in gray background but not very visible in my browser and I missed it.
I apologize again for my misplaced telling-off, but I am glad to have the point made all the same for the benefit of AlohaSnackbar01 and others. Some people need to learn obviously that calling Muslim converts ‘reverts’ is a dhimmi activity. It’s bad, like Gitmo guards wearing gloves when handling the Quran (which says “sorry we kuffar’s are unclean”), saying ‘reverts’ is bad, kind of like saying “yes we kuffar’s are traitors to Islam, sorry”
nacazo says
robert, it’s a topic summary so you can change in your own blog what aloha snackbar put as the topic summary.
Joe Murphy says
Robert, if you want scholarly accuracy (not to mis-represent AlohaSnackbar01) and yet full credit to him, you can change ‘revert’ to ‘convert to Islam’ but put your change in square brackets to indicate that it is a change from the original in your quote:
1) [Convert to Islam] Jah’Keem Yisrael
paddy says
How do we combat such hatred? we are in the midst of a ‘holy’ war. Is it any wonder people are increasingly anti-muslim?
Dave J says
Islam is clearly a brainwashing operation enforced by the violent murder of any who express doubts, criticize or decide to leave the “religion”.
This makes it a criminal and illegal gang that should be prohibited, condemned and prosecuted. Our unwillingness to do so only invites more mayhem from the same source.
