You may have noticed that the Jihad Watch site has several times not been updated for hours during the day, which is not an ordinary occurrence. I have been on the West Coast, speaking to several Catholic groups and driving for long hours from one to the other through some breathtaking landscapes.
It was gratifying to see that large numbers of Catholics do not accept the dreary fictions, half-truths and wishful thinking about the jihad threat that are so earnestly pushed at them by so many authorities, both inside and outside the Church. It is far too late for such nonsense, and I saw in numerous ways this week how hungry people are for the truth, and eager they are to act upon it — which was mightily encouraging to me and, I hope, to you as well.
And now that the tour is done, posting should be on a more regular basis for awhile.

I would wager my cat’s monthly supply of Frisky’s Deluxe that no one here who reads JW resents you viewing breathtaking landscapes.
But of course, ever the 24/7 crusader for Truth, you did that on the way from one engagement to another.
BTW, if my Swiss-cheese memory is correct, the picture topping this post is from a Sonny Rollins album LOOOONNNGGG ago circa 1960. Do you ever channel that saxophone giant when wailing out on your own instrument ?

God bless you Robert. America is the last bastion in Islam’s 1400 year terror ride. True blue American mettle only settles for the truth. “You will know the truth and the truth will set you free” John 8:32

And count RCC Bishop McManus as one of the inane pushers of the “Islam is peace” utter nonsense. Truth will push McManus and the other craven types of his ilk to the side of the road.*
*In the case of McManus however John (“Bottoms up everyone”) Barleycorn might very well be the reason that he (McManus) finds himself by the side of the road, in a ditch.

A few years back we were driving towards Phoenix on a hot August day – and it gets really hot there in August – when we decided to turn off at the Theodore Roosevelt Dam on the Salt River and have a swim. It was very refreshing, although trying to change on the hot sand was challenging. I found Phoenix to be stark and dull, like a big parking lot. Tucson had more character. I loved all the desert cacti; they reminded me of the Westerns I used to watch as a kid.

I forgot to mention the thing I found most impressive: New Mexico’s mesas. We went to Sky City, the oldest continually inhabited city in North America. New Mexico’s license plates say “Land of Enchantment”. Exactly.

I’m glad to hear that you’re finding Catholic groups to talk to. What *kind* of Catholic groups, I wonder. I’ve wanted to get something going in my area but it isn’t clear to me how it can be done — that is, if the Church is officially pushing the kumbaya narrative, and I’m not sure how much a layperson can rock the boat. I talked to my local priest, who was sympathetic but seemed to have no concrete suggestions. So I wonder what kinds of groups, because if there’s a type that laypeople can start, something that doesn’t immediately get squashed by the hierarchy (so i.e. not something blatantly called “Counterjihad Group” but maybe it’s something like “Focus on persecuted Christians” or maybe it’s something even broader), but it’s nevertheless the kind of group that could then invite someone like Robert Spencer to speak — I’d like to start or join that kind of group in my area.
Kathy Brown, Esq. says
I can tell you exactly where you’ll find ‘Catholic Groups’ to talk to Sir. That’d be in the FSSP Latin Rite ‘wing’ of the church.
There are, as it were, 2 churches. The conservative Latin Rite church, then the post-Vatican II wing. The former regularly calls out Islam, by name, stating in the clearest possible terms that it is evil and making it clear that allah=satan. The LR also calls out: so-called ‘Gay Marriage’, abortion as murder, and Obama. For example: Father’s sermon today was on the intrinsic evil of [practicing] homosexuality.
I take the trouble to speak of this because people often hear some of these ‘Make-NIce-With-Islam’ bishops and conclude, rightly, that the Holy Roman Catholic Church is off its rocker. She is not!
You just have to know the lay of the land.
I don’t know the groups to which Robert spoke but I’d bet the rent it’s a church of the aforementioned LR affiliation.

“It was gratifying to see that large numbers of Catholics do not accept the dreary fictions … ” And it is gratifying to me to read that, since what I tend to hear from my fellow Catholics is mushy, disingenuous PC crap (at least when they’re in a group – speaking to them one on one, they are more reasonable). So I’m glad to hear that some still have their heads attached to their shoulders (ahem!)
I did in fact notice that the updates were a little slower than usual, which is just a statement to your competence and dedication. But as Jihad3Tracker mentioned, I’m sure no one here would begrudge you lots of time to enjoy beautiful desert (or ocean or mountain!) scenery whenever you wish. Thanks for your hard work.

Robert, you’re our “Churchill in the wilderness”, only Churchill never got so saddle sore, or typed so many posts, do look after yourself.

I would like to see you speak. I live in California.
How do we learn what dates you speak?

raimund’s post is what is often referred to as painting with a broad brush. I counted the word “they” 4 times and the word “you” 9 times in the post. Speaking of “you” YOU cannot know any one person’s heart, sincerity or relationship with the Creator. Doing that is crossing a line of sorts. I say that in the context of I don’t think anyone can “earn” their way to heaven. I recommend to “pick your battles” because while RW readers think you’re a bit bonkers, Islam doesn’t think you should even exist. Post and run. I mean, stick around and get your medicine, the response of other JW readers.

Hot diggity if you came through phoenix I’ll be upset. Would love to hear you speak sometime. As a person new to Catholicism (in RCIA) I was flat out impressed when I stood my ground about the evil known as Islam and received back up by almost every one in the room.

Out of curiosity, did you bring your boiks as well? So that any one who wanted to have more information could buy a book?
Also what were the audience most curious about and what questions did they ask you that struck you ad most intersting?
I have your book Not peace but a sword and one of the topics I’d like to see in a future work is apostasy in islam and christanity

Robert,
I am glad you’ve gotten a bit of a break, in the sense of having some friendly audiences instead of hostile ones, and in getting to see some gorgeous parts of the country.
All the best to you!

I am a California Catholic. To Kathy Brown: honest exposition of Islamic persecution of Christians is by no means limited to Extraordinary Form Sermons [what you somewhat erroneously call Latin Rite; since the Novus Ordo has plenty of Latin in it]. At parishes thruout the Diocese of Oakland, and thruout California on Immaculate Heart Radio, we Catholics pray regularly for an end of persecution of Christians in the Middle East and the reunion of Christians. I have attended a talk on the violence of Islam at the Cathedral of Christ the Light.
And I noticed that nowhere in Raimund’s post does he actually claim to BE a Christian himself! He might even be an Islamic Troll trying to divide & conquer.
One historical reason for praying the Rosary is that it brought the Christian fleet victory over the Muslims at the Battle of Lepanto. What we need is another Battle of Lepanto! Our Lady of Victory, pray for us!
Kathy Brown, Esq. says
Marian, I am glad to hear this! And indeed: Our Lady, Patroness of America, pray for us. For indeed it was/is her patronage which won the Battle of Lepanto, and so many of the battles v. the godless Muslims up to and including those of the present day…
We do have ‘Catholics’, however, who array themselves with Bishops not worthy of the name, who-for example-continue to admit heretics like Nancy Pelosi to Holy Communion; who endorse/enable homosexual acts (which besides being a blight upon our society are a MAINSTAY of Islam); and who refuse to call Islam by its name, demonic. None of those, thank God, are part of the FSSP or the LR church. There is ‘some Latin’ in the post-Vat.II Mass but that’s not the issue. The issue is, does the Church continue to teach Her infallible truths?
And most important of all: Here we are, two Catholics who have some differences. But guess what? NEITHER OF US FEELS THE NEED TO KILL EACH OTHER. Unlike the savage Muslims whose response to every conflict is torture, atrocities, and the spilling of blood.
Thank you, Marian, for your response. Our Lady Help of Christians, pray for us!
