Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

NZ PM: Number of Muslims from NZ joining Islamic State will “surprise” most people

Nov 4, 2014 11:33 am By Robert Spencer

John Key Announces New MinistryThe number of Muslims joining the Islamic State from New Zealand will only “surprise” most people because they have no idea that the Islamic State is not twisting and hijacking Islam, but actually presents a claim that clearly resonates with large numbers of Muslims worldwide, despite condemnations of the Islamic State from Muslim leaders all over. The claim that has such appeal and resonance, of course, is the assertion that they have restored the caliphate.

“Kiwi cash helping Islamic State,” by Tracy Watkins, Stuff.co.nz, November 3, 2014 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

Funds are being moved from New Zealand in support of the chilling terror campaign waged by Islamic State (Isis) in Iraq.

Prime Minister John Key has spelt out the Kiwi link ahead of his first major national security speech on Wednesday in which he is expected to detail the number of New Zealanders backing Isis, either by signing up to its cause as fighters, or by supplying funds.

His speech will detail “the number of people we think are a very credible risk . . . who either want to leave the country and be foreign fighters, or people financially supporting that cause”….

“My own view is these people present one of the more significant threats in modern times.”

Key has warned that the number of Kiwis actively engaged with Isis, including those wanting to take up arms with the terror group, will “surprise” most people….

Meanwhile — this will surprise you — Muslim leaders in New Zealand are claiming victim status and blames non-Muslims in New Zealand for the fact that Muslims from there are going to join the Islamic State:

The head of the Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand, Dr Anwar Ghani, said he hoped New Zealand would stop short of sending combat troops to Iraq.

“We don’t need to get involved in somebody else’s war.”

Muslims in New Zealand have increasingly become the target of abuse and harassment on the back of publicity about the rise of Isis, Ghani said. Members of the Muslim community raised the matter with police at a meeting in Auckland on Saturday.

“The women folks and the younger women and school children are facing hostility from people that were making comments which are totally unacceptable.”

But a Muslim convert now living in Indonesia, Bilal Morpeth, said if any Kiwis had gone abroad to fight for Islamic causes, it was because they were ostracised by Muslim communities within New Zealand.

“I’m deeply concerned for the welfare of young Muslims and converts in New Zealand. Personally I’d like to be back there.”

Morpeth previously worshipped at the same Sydney mosque as self-proclaimed Kiwi jihadi Mark Taylor, who is now in Syria with an al Qaeda offshoot.

Taylor is subject to travel restrictions. His Indonesian wife said yesterday she was scared that Isis would kill her husband. Her husband also hated Isis, she said.

Taylor appears to have signed up to another al Qaeda offshoot.

Taylor burnt his New Zealand passport on arrival in Syria but sources have confirmed he has since inquired about a new one.

His wife said he could not afford the application fee and he had only burnt his passport because a “criminal” had attacked him and tried to take it off him….

Yeah, sure, that’s it. It was all because of a “criminal,” see? Now give him another passport: he has good intentions!

    Robert,

That was a well placed link in “he has good intentions” leading to the article about “war is deceit” .

And for those who were kiwis (eg our Maori friend) reintroduce a stint of hard labour, the sentence to be served on an inhospitable island. Waiouru would be too easy to escape from. They can work out their aggression and hatred breaking rocks. Not going to happen, of course, but the very thought of it might put potential recruits off. For those with more brawn than brain it could be the epiphany they need. Cue: yells of racism, Islamophobia etc.

I should clarify that I used to word ‘were’ as being formerly loyal – now traitors to their nation and whanau. They are still kiwis in the sense their families are indigenous.

Coupled with that should be speedy re-introduction of the crime of sedition, the penalty being the rescinding of NZ citizenship for themselves and their families, and the surrender of their NZ passports.

I’m surprised too but at the irresponsible New Zealand government allowing large numbers of Muslims into the country in the first place. Surely they are aware of the problems even small numbers create wherever they settle.

When the Labour Govt was in power I wrote to Phil Goff advising him that lying to gain citizenship was not only permitted in Islam but actively encouraged. To back my claim I quoted the words of the Imam Ibrahim Desai from his website Ask the Imam – a site worth looking at to fully appreciate the hold Islam has on its adherents, not to mention its absurdities.

After a few weeks, I received a standard response which began, ‘Dear Mr Ibrahim Desai’…

Do these people even read the letters they receive from the public?

PS ~ off topic, can someone tell me how to bold or italicise words on this blog?!

Labour can be too ‘nicey nicey’ to the perceived underdog. Naturally, when the Muslims come along, they mistake them for yet another poor underdog who needs help; poor dears.

Remember Ahmed Zaoui? Remember that music video by Dave Dobbyn called ‘Welcome Home’ in which this Ahmed Zaoui guy was featured?

This Ahmed character *arrived* on a fake South African passport, tore it up on arrival and applied for refugee status. He is now an NZ Citizen, as of this year. He was a *member* of the Islamic Salvation Front whose objective was to create an Islamic state that was ruled by Islamic Law.

Auntie Helen (whom I actually liked in some ways as a person), initially claimed this man had links to Al-Qaeda but then retracted this comment and said it was “going too far.” Well really…Al-Qaeda has nothing in common with Islam or the *Islamic* Salvation Front?

        And here:

In 1993, Zaoui fled to Europe. He was tried and convicted in absentia by the Algerian government and was convicted of “establishing a terrorist organisation to destabilise state institutions and terrorise the population” and for “plotting against the state, criminal conspiracy, inciting armed rebellion and assassinations and destruction of property” in May 1996, and February 1997, respectively. Both convictions carry sentences of life imprisonment.[3] Disputing the reports from Interpol as incomplete, Zaoui claimed and the RSAA found that there were six life sentences against him, as well as two death sentences.[4] Human rights groups have criticised the Algerian trials for contravening basic norms of justice.[5]

In March 1994, Belgium charged him with being “the instigator or the head of a criminal organisation” and two charges of using false passports. He was acquitted at his first trial but was convicted on appeal and received a four-year suspended sentence.[6]

While still under a Belgian home detention order which limited his movements to the street he lived on, he travelled illegally to Switzerland. The Swiss authorities refused his request for asylum due to his ongoing political activities, and made a deal with Burkina Faso to deport Zaoui and his family there, while still providing Zaoui with a 1500 Swiss franc monthly allowance.[7]

Zaoui left Burkina Faso and travelled to Malaysia with his family in 2000. He engaged in political activity with the FIS in exile.

In 2001 France convicted him in absentia for “participation in a criminal group with a view to preparing terrorist acts”.

During his time in Malaysia, the head of the Algerian police services visited to observe Malaysian policing methods. Zaoui believed that this was a pretext, that the real reason was his presence in Malaysia, and that the Malaysian authorities were preparing to detain him.[8] He decided to leave Malaysia, and on 2 December 2002 he arrived in New Zealand via Vietnam on a fake South African passport.”

        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ahmed_Zaoui
        ——————————————–

And here is the warm and fuzzy music video featuring this criminally suspicious character- ‘Welcome Home’ by Dave Dobbyn. Dave no doubt, had charitable intentions when he made this video but had no idea about Islam.

*singing* “See I maaaade space for you nowwwww….Welllllllcome hoooooome. From the bottttoooomm of our heaaaaart”

          Jen,

If it wasn’t for the detailed account of facts, its sources, and you being the writer, I would have thought it was a story of fiction, about madness!

Actually if our present day world was saine and run by logic, this story would definitely be of fiction; hilarious fiction!

I thought this kind of stuff is only proper to North America and western Europe, now I know it is genetic!

          Nov 4, 2014 at 7:10 pm

          @Jen

I was incensed by the Zaoui affair. I kept a copy of a letter I wrote to Helen Clark at the time:

‘The long-suffering New Zealand taxpayer surely deserves clarification as to how an individual deemed a Security Risk, an associate of terrorists and persona non grata, suddenly transforms himself into an innocent abroad. It is fair to ask why Mr Zaoui has resisted being ‘more candid in his disclosures’ until now. All we can glean is that a deal has been struck whereby Mr Zaoui signs a document promising to keep his nose clean in return for getting the Labour Government off the hook. And if he doesn’t keep his side of the bargain, what then?

It must be remembered that deception is legitimate in Islam, both in the Qur’an and the Sunnah, as is lying to infidels. It is time we took our heads out of the sand and learned what the Koran and Hadith actually teach. We could start with the religiously sanctioned practice of dissimulation in order to win political battles and protect Islam (Taqiyya).

We must get better informed about the deceptive nature of Islam rather than meekly swallowing the platitudes we’re being fed. If we neglect to do so we risk losing this country to Islamic extremists who see appeasement not as kindness but weakness.’

No response of course. I gather Zaoui operated a kebab cart in Palmerston North, but has now returned to Auckland where he and his family live in Avondale – where else?

        • Jen says

          @ Terry
They got it so ridiculously wrong, it is almost laughable. They look like fools.

The other ironic thing about that video is that Zaoui is featured standing next to *Christian* clerics! ‘People of the book’ who Zaoui would have had no misgivings about subjugating/killing under Islamic Law in the Islamic State that he was hoping to create.

The fact that he is featured a second time in the very *last* scene of the video before fading out to Dave Dobbyn’s last message which reads “We come from everywhere. Speak peace and welcome home” suggests to me that this message or ‘theme’ of the video was intended to apply in particular to Zaoui- because of the controversy surrounding him and the fact that people naturally felt hostile to an individual like this, being allowed to live in NZ.

Look at the technique the cinematographer has used to frame Zaoui in particular. Quite low angles with the camera- both times. Most of the other shots are not from low angles but straight-on. Coupled with the fuzzy outline (which is featured throughout the video anyway), it almost gives the effect of ‘friendly’ framing. His first appearance is low angle, from a slight distance, and dwarfed by the *church* imagery behind them. You can see a cross in the background, if I’m not mistaken. This is clearly intentional because cinematographers don’t create these angles without purpose. They’re all designed to create a particular mood.

That is a well-known song in NZ. Almost like an anthem. It’s been played on TV many times (and I think, unless I’m mistaken) featured in certain adverts. If you read the comments on Youtube underneath it, you can see that there are kids saying they sing this in choir or ‘Kids 4 Kids’ (another well-known event for kids and parents). The song itself is quite nice and the message is also lovely. *However* featuring Zaoui among the other non-criminal individuals who probably moved to NZ for a better life is just taking the piss!

          @deja vu
So he is in Avondale now? I wondered where in Auckland he lived. I read somewhere (can’t remember where) that he was seen working at a kebab shop on K. Road.

And as far as your letter to Auntie *Helen*, why didn’t somebody respond?! NZ is a country with a tiny population and you were probably among the few who wrote a letter in the first place about this matter. If their lack of response is anything to go by, how would they cope with dozens of requests if we had a larger population?

This is why, when Kiwis sometimes compare our situation in NZ to overseas countries with *much* larger population, and seem to have a ‘she’ll be right’ attitude about our issues because they seem so much worse overseas, I tell them that one reason our issues are so manageable at the moment because we don’t face as *many* as other countries (yet)! It is partly a population thing. I mean, look at Counties Manukau police and how they fiddled with the recording of about 700 burglary offenses (presumably to downplay the situation). It makes me a bit suspicious of other crime stats which I hope are getting better, not worse.

Or the people who are serious risks to society and who were let out on bail- going on kill someone! The girl, Christie Marceau comes to mind. Her killer was found not guilty “by reason of insanity” *but* was out on *bail* for his previous offenses toward this same girl which included kidnapping, threatening and assaulting her! Around a month after being let out on bail, he just walks into her house and kills her with a hammer and a knife! WHY was he allowed out, especially when ‘insane.’ Did nobody properly bother to consider this? Or the name suppression for the sex offender in Christchurch recently, even though the victims want him to be named (and probably shamed) and he is 18 already. Stuff.co.nz described him as a ‘boy’ rather than someone of legal age. I feel the pedophile’s rights should be banished in light of what the victims want. In an ideal world…

I have known and do know people who were sexually assaulted in their childhood and the impact of what happened to them, affects them to this day. These types of offenders are the kind that tend *not* to respond to rehabilitation. The fact that he is out and about in society is worrying. I just *know* he will do it again.

This pedophile’s sentence, according to Stuff:

He ordered the youth to undergo 18 months of intensive supervision, with judicial monitoring.

The judge will get reports on his progress every three months. He must complete the Stop programme for sex offenders, undertake counselling or treatment as required, and he is not allowed any contact with any children under 16 years of age without the prior written consent of his probation officer.

He also imposed four months of community detention.

The youth lives with his grandparents. He had admitted representative charges of indecent assaults on girls and a boy aged under 12, and unlawful sexual connection with a girl and boy aged under 12. The children were aged from about 9 to 11 at the time of the offending, and the offender was aged 15 and 16 at the time.

The youth was originally charged in the Youth Court where a rehabilitative approach was taken to his sentencing.
          —————————–

My point is that we are often far too nice! And this kind of attitude is not helpful in dealing with future Muslim problems. Other than suffering from the ‘she’ll be right’ syndrome, I think we sometimes suffer from the ‘everyone is as friendly with good intentions like us’ syndrome. Not the safest mindset to approach a Muslim problem…

I want everyone to be awake about Islam *before* our population of Muslims reaches a level where people are too afraid to speak out against it, for fear they may get threatened or killed (see examples of this everywhere!). People can still be educated more easily in the early stages and that opportunity should be seized.

        • Jen says

          Nov 5, 2014 at 4:14 am

And the ‘Stop’ programme for the pedophile offender, without much else added to it since he was given a lenient sentence, reminds me a little of the ‘de-redicalization programmes’ that are being used on jihadists overseas. Their mindset is assuming the offenders’ sincere cooperation and good intentions, even when they’ve shown themselves to be dishonest. Then after they’ve been ‘de-radicalized’ or ‘cured’ from pedophilia, everything will be fine!! Right?!

“The women folks and the younger women and school children are facing hostility from people that were making comments which are totally unacceptable.”
    ——————————————————————————————————
“Totally unacceptable” ….So if people are wearing ISLAMIC clothing which signifies their allegiance to a “religion” (read: nasty ideology) that calls for killing people (and the rest), Kiwis are somehow behaving in a totally unacceptable manner by making comments? So if I walk around with a giant swastika on my shirt, I should also expect nobody to make any bad comments?

At least they’re not killing people. Muslims- again, the self-proclaimed “victims,” regardless of the circumstances.

“The head of the Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand, Dr Anwar Ghani, said he hoped New Zealand would stop short of sending combat troops to Iraq.“We don’t need to get involved in somebody else’s war.”
    ——————————————
Of course, he *doesn’t* want us to get involved. We can’t be killing his Muslim “brothers and sisters” can we?

He knows Islam, especially being the head of the Federation and he knows *full well* that Islam’s ideology is about expansion. He would not be ignorant to the fact that ISIS is following Islam’s principles, almost to the letter! Hence ISIS = Islam.

And then he has the audacity to call it “somebody else’s war.” – it’s *everybody’s* war because every non-Muslim is a target- which he knows!

    Outrageous comment.

Is this guy a medical doctor or…? If so, I don’t think I’d want to be his patient if he thinks this way. Medical jihad, on your mind?

As for Taylor that destroyed his passport. *Never* should this traitor be let back in. Here is a picture of that arsehole- doesn’t look like anyone you would want in the country.

Remember the Labour MP Ashraf Choudhary who claimed in an interview that ‘some stoning was okay’?

      http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10334250

He alienated his Palmeston North electorate in 2003 by suggesting that the cross on the clock tower in the town centre be removed. Fortunately, the resulting furor forced him to drop the subject. Winston Peters entered the fray and told Choudhary a few home truths.

      http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/PA0309/S00542/choudharys-cross-purpose-in-palmerston-north.htm

I remember a radio interview in which Choudhary claimed the NZ was ‘intolerant’. The interviewer failed to ask the obvious question – in comparison with where, your home country Pakistan?

Jen, what is it about Palmy that both Zaoui and Choudhary landed up there? Does it have some attraction for them?

      • Jen says

        Nov 5, 2014 at 3:29 am

Choudhary: outrageous. And almost sharing the same last name as the other grotesque jihadist in the UK (Anjem: read his Twitter if you haven’t- really, really vile).

How dare the NZ Choudhary come here and bring his neanderthal ways along with him. Of course he won’t condemn it in full, because stoning is perfectly Islamic and he’s a Muslim. Muslims can obviously have a spectrum of views about Islam- some agree with its harshness in full; some agree with it in parts. But even partway agreeing by thinking “some stoning is okay” is not okay! These people would happily throw us back to primitive times if they could have their way.

I don’t know Palmy that well to be honest. Does it have a known Muslim community there? Or is some plot already underway there…I have known various people from Palmy who were of all racial backgrounds. Not Muslim though.

      • Jen says

And as for wanting to remove our crosses…The fact that Muslims love to tear down crosses makes me annoyed enough that I might buy myself a nice cross necklace to wear. Keep showing *our* symbols so as to resist the imposition of Islamic culture upon us. I know that people wearing cross necklaces have been attacked by Muslims before. As more Muslims arrive, this sort of thing is only inevitable.

Now you know why I recommend that people get same training in the Israeli unarmed combat course, Krav Maga and other courses. At least it will give decent folk a better chance of protecting themselves and if things work out well they can actually do some serious damage. It’s a pity we have to think this way, but it’s not only South Africa that has gone to the dogs in respect of violence. The more Muslims arrive, the greater the chances of experiencing it – but don’t tell p.c. Western politicians, they don’t want to hear.

You stated – “So if I walk around with a giant swastika on my shirt, I should also expect nobody to make any bad comments?”

      EXACTLY.

That is the precise point we need to be making to people, over and over, re Mohammedan Gang Uniform (whether male or female). Yes, even the faux-demure headbag/ Slave Hood when worn by some doe-eyed hijabette who squeals and whines and pretends to be sooo persecuted, because somebody gave her a funny look, or refused (prudently, given the history of explosions and knifings carried out by females in Muslim dress) to sit next to her on the bus or train.

The Mohammedan Gang Uniform when worn in public in a non-Muslim country by any Muslim whether male or female is to every free non-Muslim in that country as the SS or Gestapo uniform was to Poles and French in Occupied Europe during WWII.

It’s an open threat. It’s the black flag of Jihad. It says: “We are the Allah Gang, the Mohammedan Mob. We hate you. We have contempt for you. We intend to dominate and domineer over you. We intend to bully and abuse you. We intend to rape, rob and enslave you; we intend to KILL you as human sacrifices to our infernal “god”. We reject the Golden Rule; we believe ourselves to be the Superiors, the Best of People, entitled to treat all of non-Muslim humanity – whom we do not see as humans, but as untermenschen – like sh*t.”

I agree. If we were allowed to state this un-PC truth in the open and on every street corner, people would soon get the message. People who are less educated about these matters assume it’s an overreaction to say what you’re saying. But it’s not. LOOK at the mountain of evidence.

Good on the PM for extolling the truth. Although I don’t want Muslims harassed because of IS, their community is certainly not the victim here. This assertion is the trendy bigotry whereby whites can do no right and non-whites no wrong. It is offensive and absurd, and none should stand for it.

    • Jen says

      Nov 4, 2014 at 6:02 pm

So what then, is going to make Muslims realise that their ‘religions’ outlook is atrocious?

You don’t think they need to feel somehow embarrassed about the ‘religion’ they have submitted themselves to and that they should be immediately prompted to take a closer look at themselves and reconsider what the hell they are doing belonging to this cult?

Public humiliation helps to speed that process along. There is no reason why any country should be ‘tolerant’ of Islamic beliefs when the ‘religion’ itself is completely intolerant of anyone who isn’t a Muslim. It’s even intolerant of other Muslims who don’t share identical views! That shows you how mad it is. And why they immediately need to drop this ‘faith’ if it isn’t aligned with their own genuine views, George. No messing around in lala land. Nobody said to kill them but they should feel collectively embarrassed and collectively guilty for the actions of their coreligionists *because* these coreligionists are behaving in *direct accordance* to the very Islamic texts which they *themselves* claim allegiance to.

Have you been paying attention to what has been happening in the UK? You think NZ can’t go in that direction too? Of course it can. Stop acting like they deserve to be a “protected species.” We know that jihadists emerge, even from “moderate Muslim” families. Wake up, fully.

      • Jen says

        Nov 4, 2014 at 6:10 pm

Or are you not a Kiwi so that’s why you’re not as annoyed…

Anything by Muslims, as we have already seen, can be framed as “harassment” or “oppression” and the local people are blamed overly for having a reaction; even when it pales in comparison to the atrocious behaviour of Muslims.

As I said earlier, (see the Canada incident), the ‘victims’ are not the wider society who is actually being *terrorized* by their coreligionists. This is in line with Islamic thought because Muslims are supposed to ‘cast fear’ into the ‘unbelievers.’ The wider society is not Muslim, and therefore are ‘enemies of Allah.’

“The main victims, other than the people who died yesterday, are Muslims themselves.” — not the society which is living in fear? No, the Muslim community are the secondary ‘victims’…not the fearful ‘unbelievers’ who are worried about when they will next be attacked!

          Georg says:

“This assertion is the trendy bigotry whereby whites can do no right and non-whites no wrong. It is offensive and absurd, and none should stand for it.” ….vs…. ” Although I don’t want Muslims harassed because of IS.”

They’re not being “harassed” (however loosely that term is defined by Muslims) because of IS.

If they *are* being “harassed,” it will be because of ISLAM.

ISIS = Islam. They are not separated matters.

Bloody hell. Hope this isn’t the prevailing attitude of Kiwis in the near future. People need to make the strong connection between all these global problems and *Islam.* Not some off-shoot of Islam called “radical” Islam, when Islam itself is extremely radical in its own right.

    • Jen says

      Nov 4, 2014 at 6:59 pm

And to add another small point to this “harassment” comment.

What about Muslims harassing non-Muslims like myself?

What about the pervert Muslim men who have no qualms about making comments to me? Or leering at me in a very inappropriate manner? (see the Muslim men and their rape gangs in the UK, see Sweden and rape. This perverted attitude is in accordance with Islamic teachings.).

How about the group of Muslim girls who gave me the “the eye” or “once over” when I walked into the lift with them? Presumably, this disapproval was directed at my summer-appropriate outfit. Meanwhile, *they* are dressed in hijabs and other foreign garments which don’t conform to our culture at all?

*I* feel ‘oppressed’ by their self-segregation and their attitude in which they think they are above non-Muslims. This behaviour is linked to standard Islamic teachings. Not “radical” Islam. Normative Islam.

Maybe *I* feel (mentally)’oppressed’ (or de-pressed, take your pick) when I see a woman pushing a stroller and wearing a long black flowing garment covering her entire face and body and which makes her look indistinguishable from a rubbish bag.

Muslims looking “indistinguishable from a rubbish bag” is totally appropriate. And to think that they consider themselves superior! That speaks of mental illness.

I know. I just get irritated that this ‘style’ of ‘dressing’ is even allowed here. It could be man under that burqa for all we know. People aren’t generally allowed to walk into shops wearing balaclavas that disguise their identity for obvious reasons. So why the hell should they be allowed to wear a full body disguise for “religious” reasons?

          Nov 5, 2014 at 11:50 pm

There have in fact been several reported cases of men disguising themselves in full burqas and niqabs. The most recent was a gang who robbed a jewelry store in central Sydney a couple of years ago. The others have been overseas cases of fugitives escaping on planes, or terrorists carrying bombs and arms etc. However, if it becomes an accepted garb, eventually there will be others who use it for nefarious purposes.

I am a Kiwi and I am totally disgusted with our governments policy allowing our once green, pleasant and uncrowded nation being totally inundated with 3rd world migrants, especially Muslims. If you complain to anyone in government your are ignored and while some people agree with my concerns I am generally called “Racist” if I say anything.
There is no place in this country (NZ) for Islam. Even that “oh so nice taxi driver” will always be on the side of Islam in all its guises. If the Muslims in this country are against ISIS why don’t they go and fight AGAINST it instead of FOR it???

Hear, hear. If Muslims did that in NZ, our entire community would rush to kiss their butts and tell them how wonderful they are. Somebody from church would probably rush to aid their cause and hold a sausage sizzle fundraiser.

          ——————————————————————————————
May I add a qualifier – somebody from the *Catholic* church would probably rush to aid their cause……not the church in general.

In April 2004 it was the parishioners of Sacred Heart Catholic church in Ponsonby and members of the local mosque, who held a joint candlelight vigil from the mosque to the church to mark Zaoui’s 500 days in prison.

You may remember that Zaoui was given sanctuary at St Benedict’s Dominican Priory in Newton for something like 2 years while he was on bail.

          @deja vu
The Catholic people did do this, probably because they’re always focusing on works of mercy in the community. They often house people who have nowhere else to go. Again, done with the best of intentions – but in this case, completely misguided about *who* the underdog is. If they haven’t woken up to the fact that this man is *not* someone that they should have helped, somebody needs to tell them so they don’t do it again. These people are so nice sometimes…But doing it without using basic common sense is how you get taken advantage of. They’re too quick to assume the best in people. They should have done their research thoroughly. There were other Zaoui sympathisers in NZ and I’m sure that these attitudes caused these people to think that he was being ‘unfairly’ attacked. Zaoui no doubt, having had a flourishing criminal career, is probably a very good taqiyya-artist.

What I’d like to know is whether the Govt is monitoring Zaoui. Or have they just decided that he’s had a ‘spiritual rebirth’ after being given NZ citizenship? I really doubt this man has changed his ways and stopped thinking like a jihadist. I mean, look at his track record.

Does he go to any mosques? Is he preaching there? If so, I’d like to know what it is they are teaching at the mosque he’s attending. Since he was also pro-caliphate, this probably means he’s happy about ISIS. What would make anyone assume otherwise? They need to monitor this guy, pronto.

Ok, I just read the article. This title here: “Zaoui a reluctant celebrity.”???

These people…They really need to be told…..That they have this all wrong about Islam itself.

“The Catholics are convinced he is innocent, saying peaceful links between Zaoui the Muslim and the Catholic Church go back to before the 1992 military coup in Algeria, which forced him to flee his country. He is either a wronged man of peace or a man so dangerous he should not be allowed to stay in New Zealand.”

“Zaoui is in the kitchen with two helpers, Sarah and Sarah, chopping ingredients for the Algerian feast he is cooking before the discussion.” — they were far too nice to this criminal. They should know that he would have had no issues removing their head if he was successful in setting up his caliphate.

          Nov 6, 2014 at 6:15 am

Notice the terminology used – ‘wrong man of *peace*’

It’s not a coincidence, I don’t think, that the word *peace* crops up repeatedly when Muslims are discussed in the media.

This is all part of the Islam propaganda machine with their ‘religion of peace’ line. Since its more accurately described as the Religion of Death, people need to understand this message. The ‘religion of peace’ slogan needs to have its reputation run into the ground. It’s misleading people who don’t bother to look further into Islam and what it actually teaches.

Funny that, they use the same reasoning in Australia. On this week’s Q&A a bunch of them fronted our Attorney General, George Brandis, claiming that it was ‘alienation’ and ‘discrimination’ that drove their youth to join ISIS in Iraq.
    Pure bullshit!
One thing for sure, if they weren’t ostracised before, they sure are now.

Key, they are *not* Kiwis; they are merely mohammedans whom you have foolishly and suicidally issued with New Zealand passports.

And, no, there is nothing ‘surprising’ about it. Monsters congregate with other monsters.

Here’s a thought. Don’t take their passports away. Let them go. Speed them happily on their way but forever after deny them entry if and when they decide to return………..for whatever the reason. Give them a one way ticket to “paradise.”

      Nov 5, 2014 at 3:02 pm

That’s a major debate here in Oz too. Whether to speed them on their way rejoicing or to keep them at home to try to ‘deradicalise’ them.
Any idiot knows that you can chain a man but not his ideas. These people may just adopt the appearances of the repentant but still be able to carry out attacks against the country from within. Give them their passports, but don’t allow them to return is the feeling of the average Aussie… and take their families with them!
We gave them help and succour when they first fled their centuries-old civil wars, they threw it back in our faces, so *%#$ off and don’t return!

‘Any idiot knows that you can chain a man but not his ideas.’

Perfectly put. Why the Governments of Oz & NZ seem to be stubbornly turning a deaf ear to the only logical response to those who plot to harm us, is hard to understand. Neither have given a reason why they are cancelling their passports *before* they leave the country, thus preventing them from going. As far as most of us are concerned, it would be good riddance.

I don’t understand why they can’t pass legislation under urgency to allow them to re-introduce sedition (taken off the statute books in the 1980s), stiffer penalties for committing treason, and the power to cancel citizenship and passports in absentia. Lying in order to obtain citizenship would surely be obvious if you were found to be using that privilege to commit a crime against the nation.

Perhaps I’m becoming paranoid, but I’m beginning to lose faith in the autonomy and integrity of our governments. Maybe they *are* mere puppets of the real movers and shakers behind the scenes, as has often been suspected. There seems to be no other explanation for their intransigence. It explains the obsession with bringing in large numbers of those whose ideology and worldview is totally incompatible with ours, their seeming inability to grasp the danger it poses, and their readiness to shut down debate as being ‘divisive’. The sovereignty of every democratic nation is under threat, and we are in danger of losing the right to decide our own policies without interference. The time will be ripe for the NWO to be ushered in as an alternative to the thugocracy that is the UN – and the blind and deaf electorate will heave a collective sigh of relief and support it without a murmur.

*Prime Minister too busy to meet NZ Muslim leaders* [Victim mode switched on]

“We made the approach 10 days ago when John Key raised potential for a beheading here in New Zealand, that was scaremongering.”

He said to make a statement like that and then to justify terror rules and laws to be passed is of huge concern.

NZ Muslim Association president Firoz Patel said many in the community were nervous about the Government’s proposal to strengthen anti-terror law including having powers to cancel passports of New Zealanders planning to, or already fighting in overseas conflicts.
        [Thereby losing their benefits]

NZ Muslim leaders met with the Police on Saturday to discuss the terror law overhaul and safety concerns following Sunday’s fire at a West Auckland mosque. [In a nearby shed actually, but why spoil a perfectly good sob story by telling the truth?]
