In FrontPage today I discuss the predictable jihad and the predictable reaction to it:
All you have to do is change the name of the victim, and this could be a story from August, or September, or October: the Islamic State has beheaded yet another hostage, this time Peter Kassig, aka Abdul-Rahman Kassig, and Barack Obama has declared yet again that the beheading has nothing to do with Islam. Obama might as well have a form ready for the next jihad beheading or mass murder attack: all he will have to do is fill in the blank and then take to the airwaves to say that the latest bloodshed has nothing to do with Islam. If the victims are British, he can lend his form to David Cameron.
But all this repeating of the political elites’ “Islam is peace” meme will never make it so. And the constant repetition of this falsehood is doing nothing less than endangering Americans. It keeps people ignorant who might otherwise get a clear idea of the nature and magnitude of the jihad threat. It fosters complacency. It makes all too many Americans assume that this kind of behavior is restricted to the “extremists” of the Islamic State, and could never happen here.
It could happen here. It could happen anywhere that people read the phrase “when you meet the unbelievers, strike the necks” (Qur’an 47:4) as if it were a command of the Creator of the Universe. But to point out that simple and obvious fact nowadays only brings down upon one’s head charges of “hatred” and of “demonizing all Muslims,” when in a sane society it would bring honest explanations from Muslims of good will of what they were doing to ensure that no Muslim ever acted on that verse’s literal meaning.
In reality, they’re doing nothing. No Muslim organization, mosque or school in the United States has any program to teach young Muslims and converts to Islam why they should avoid and reject on Islamic grounds the vision of Islam – and of unbelievers – that the Islamic State and other jihad groups offer them. This is extremely strange, given the fact that all the Muslim organizations, mosques and schools in the United States ostensibly reject this understanding of Islam. And even stranger is that no American authorities seem to have noticed the absence of such initiatives, much less dared to call out Muslim groups about this.
On the contrary, instead of calling on Muslim groups to take some action to prevent this kind of thing from happening in the future, Obama’s latest denial was even more strenuous in its dissociation of the beheading from Islam: “ISIL’s actions represent no faith, least of all the Muslim faith which Abdul-Rahman adopted as his own.”
“Least of all”! As if it were possible that the Islamic State’s actions represented Buddhism, or Methodism, or Christian Science, or the Hardshell Baptists, or the Mandaeans, to greater or lesser degrees, but the most far-fetched association one could make, out of all the myriad faiths people hold throughout the world, would be to associate the Islamic State’s actions with…Islam. The Islamic State’s actions represent no faith, least of all Islam – as if it were more likely that the Islamic State were made up of Presbyterians or Lubavitcher Hasidim or Jains or Smartas than that it were made up of Muslims.
Why do not just some, but all of the political leaders in Western countries cling to this outlandish fiction? Because reality indicts them. Not only do they insist that Islam is a religion of peace despite an ever-growing mountain of evidence to the contrary; they have made that falsehood a cornerstone of numerous policies. They have encouraged mass immigration and refugee resettlement from Muslim countries, without even making an attempt to determine whether or not any of the people they were importing had any connections to or sympathies with jihad groups. Their governments have for years partnered with and collaborated with groups with proven ties to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood. They have favored and aided the Brotherhood and groups like it to attain power in the Middle East and North Africa, deeming them “moderate” because they claimed to eschew violence, and blithely ignoring that their goals were the same as those of groups such as al-Qaeda and the Islamic State.
If Barack Obama or David Cameron admitted that Islam was not a religion of peace, all these disastrous policies and others would be called into question. Cameron’s government might, quite deservedly, fall, and Obama’s would be crippled.
However, the primary reason why Obama and his cohorts continue to stand athwart the pile of beheaded bodies shouting that Islam is a religion of peace is because if they didn’t, the mainstream media – following its own policies as delineated by the Society of Professional Journalists – would immediately denounce them as “racists,” “bigots,” and “Islamophobes,” and their career not just as politicians but as respectable people would be over. It’s not that bad, you say? Just look at how the sharks are circling Bill Maher and tell me that.
Nonetheless, the Big Lie, however ascendant it may be today, is foredoomed. The fact that it is repeated, and must be repeated, so often is evidence of that. No one has to run around insisting that Christianity is a religion of peace, because Christian leaders are reacting to the escalating Muslim persecution of their brethren by opening up their churches to Muslim prayer and muting their criticism of that persecution out of deference to their Muslim “dialogue” partners. If anything says “religion of peace,” it’s Christians forcibly ejecting a Christian woman from a Christian cathedral for proclaiming Christ, so that Muslims could deny him there.
“Religion of abject surrender” might be more apt, but in any case, no one thinks contemporary Christianity is a religion of war. All too many Muslims worldwide, however, energetically go about illustrating every day that Islam is not a religion of peace, and so they keep Obama’s printer busy turning out denial forms, ready for him to fill in the blanks with the name of the next victim: “The murder of _________ has nothing whatsoever to do with the great religion of Islam…”
But this is a counsel of despair. The truth will get out; indeed, it is already abundantly out. We can only hope that not too many more will have to feel the blade at their necks before Obama and the rest can no longer avoid taking realistic and effective action.

Sure. Then Obama can share his book “Why I Am a Secret Muslim” and he and Ibn Warraq can share notes.

Every time Obama or Cameron make an asinine statement about how the latest jihad murders “have nothing to do with Islam” the diminish their standing not only with those who already distrust them, but also with those who are on the fence. It is those not yet on the fence whom they are addressing. And their Saudi masters who will pay them so handsomely for advancing and protecting Islam once their term in office is done.
It is stunning that there would be anybody on the fence when it comes to what Islam is about, what it stands for, and what its goals are. However, that is human nature at work: we want to believe the best of our fellow humans, and it takes a lot to shake that belief when it comes to what a large segment of the world’s population believes in. Calculating politicians like Obama and Cameron and the insidious forces of Islamic supremacists and their (often witless) allies whom have corrupted the mainstream media, count on this flaw in human nature. That’s why educational resources like JihadWatch are so important in this war against honesty and free speech.

Cameron’s time as prime minister of Britain will be finished come May 2015;the people are sick of his lies and cowardice and pro E.U stance. Milliband is a Marxist buffoon who would bankrupt the country ,again, before it has even recovered from the last assault by Socialism. I am hoping that the UKIP will get sufficient seats in Parliament to encourage the Conservative party to split;the right merging with the UKIP to form a new pro British, anti E.U right wing party and the trendy ,bendy P.C pro E.U lefties under Cameron cast adrift to wither and disappear. I believe that this is Britain’s last chance to pull back from the abyss and the dark future that the left and E.U has planned for her.A future where in time she will be dominated by Islam and quite possibly drift into civil war and a split and divided nation, physically as well as spiritually. It will be a new type of Dane-law;this time with large parts of Britain under Sharia. That could be Britain’s future in perhaps 50-100 years unless the people come to their senses soon.
Darren says
The civil war in Europe will happen much sooner than that. Sweden and France are in it pretty deep.

Obama and his cultural Marxist friends believe that Islam is a ‘mystical salad bar’ from which one may pick-and-choose a personalized portion of this and that. It isn’t. Islam is a highly codified, institutionalized religion and way of life. Omitting or denying ANY ELEMENT of Islam’s umpteen requirements and rules is tantamount to apostasy and punishable by death.
Individual Muslims do not make their own ‘Islam-a-la-carte’. That is blasphemous. The mullahs, and more particularly, the leading jurists at Al Azhar University decide what Islam is or isn’t. So far they have endorsed the vigilante killing of apostates and blasphemers, child marriage, FGM, decapitation and…in fact…virtually all the doctrines of ISIS.
There is a high degree of unanimity among LEADING Muslims which is not always reflected in the opinions of ordinary, uneducated Muslims, but is it surprising that the dummies at the bottom of the Islamic heap know almost nothing. Their mullahs tell them to listen and do as their told and that they don’t need to learn about Islam…just follow the orders of the mullahs. That’s called ‘taqlid’, by the way…’blind following’. Most Muslims are blind and don’t know much of what the faith teaches, but they will get angry when told to do that.
Michael Copeland says
The death punishment (for doing pick-and-choose) can be carried out without penalty by anyone “since it is killing someone who deserves to die” (Manual of Islamic Law 08.4). This is what Nonie Darwish calls Islam’s vigilante justice.
The Manual, “Reliance of the Traveller”, is a free download: see internet.
Michael Copeland says
Islam is not ‘pick your own’. The doctrines, set out in the texts, are neither optional nor negotiable. Muslims do not choose: they are instructed. Dr. Salah al-Sawy, the Secretary-General of the Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America issued a ruling, or fatwa, as follows:
“For things which have been stipulated in the texts of Islam, the Ummah [Muslim community] possesses no power except to acknowledge and obey, following the saying of the Most High:
“It is not fitting for a Believer, man or woman, when a matter has been decided by Allah and His Messenger to have any option about their decision: if any one disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he is indeed on a clearly wrong Path” (Koran 33:36).

Mr. Obama, There is a great unanimity between Islamic leaders about the doctrines of Sunnite Islam. They disagree about who should be in charge.
Some reality, please. Canonical Islam from the approved manuals of Sharia law teaches warfare against the disbelievers until Islam becomes an imperial state ruling the earth.
This has everything to do with the definitions of Islam approved by all Muslim jurists.
RonaldB says
I have heard (or possibly read) Robert saying that he doesn’t know if Obama is a Muslim, but he might as well be one in terms of predicting his actions.
I personally think that the susceptibility of politicians to Islamic claims is based on more than just fear of social ostracism. Bill Maher is going strong, and I don’t think he minds the criticisms against him in the least. But, the Saudis with their swimming pools filled with cash and their political and educational donations in the US have bought themselves a great deal of political support. I have no doubt that they hold some secret files which would blow some politicians out of the water, which also tends to mute opposition to them.
Things are changing very rapidly in the Middle East, though, and there are golden opportunities for a real defense of freedom. Saudi Arabia and the Muslim Brotherhood are at loggerheads, and the split is real, not cosmetic.
http://www.newrepublic.com/article/114468/why-saudi-arabia-helping-crush-muslim-brotherhood
Neither Saudi Arabia nor the Muslim Brotherhood can be trusted, but they can be used, judiciously. The United States could trade some limited promise of military support for Saudi Arabia in return for, among other things, Saudi Arabia’s silence at the US cutting off Muslim immigration. That’s a good deal for both sides, and meets the interest of the US in a stable Middle East.
We need to make it a first-class felony for any current or past office holder to take contributions from any foreign government or foreign organization. Much as I hate to advocate this, we might also make it illegal for foreign companies or governments to own interest in US media or educational institutions. Or, perhaps make a clear distinction between the two, so that, for example, al Jezeera can broadcast in the US as a clearly foreign entity, while even partial Saudi ownership of an American company like NBC would be illegal. The purpose would be to insure a separation of journalism from bending to foreign money.
I think once the US ends the practice of foreign financial influence in our political and educational process, the public opinion and even political and journalistic viewpoints will be more realistic.

Hello from Iquitos, Peru, deep in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon jungle.
I notice that there are some job openings recently for journalists in Syria and surrounding areas. I notice as well that people are still emoting about jihad and some emote right back at them about the impracticality of it all. Nothing much changes year after year in the comment section. Lots of letters, lots of noise. And there they are, jobs going begging.
I note with some interest that David Scoltock infers some interest in the Russian solution to jihad. David, though, has probably as little influence over the practicalities of Russian policy as I do. Nor do we have a great deal of influence over U.S. or British policy regarding jihad. That does not mean that we are powerless or helpless.
With all those journalism jobs going vacant, one might think there would be people willing and able to fill them. A problem is that they would likely be filled by the same sort of writers who are losing their heads as they sympathize with multi-cultural comformities that make life bearable among friends and colleagues in the West these days. Try getting a journlism job without the silly platitudes of multi-culturalism pouring from ones pen and one might find oneself living in a jungle somewhere in South America or some other lost place.
There are practical things one can do about, at least, journalism in the Middle East. Journalism is a practical occupation. It’s not like melting Mecca in ones dreams. It’s not like emoting on the Internet. It’s real. One must go out and do it.

Why would I go to an Islamic state to become a would-be right wing journalist when I’ve got my very own, Islamic state, in the making, right here, on my doorstep.
The Muslim brotherhood international HQ moved into my area after getting booted out of Egypt. Quite literally then, they set up HQ above a kebab shop around the corner from my abode.
Google Muslim brotherhood headquarters North London if you don’t believe me.
I understand they are in austria now. Not that this gives me any comfort given that the network was clearly here to welcome them in the first place.
What more can one say.

Hey, Moonlighter, I think that no matter where you go you’ll have a sense of humour.
I’m finishing up a book about architecture in Iquitos at this time, and when I complete it, I have to find a new place for my own sense of humour if I am to continue being happy.
Problem is, as we know, that the media generally isn’t so keen on hiring writers of the would-be right wing slant. You don’t have to go far for jihadis; but here in the jungle, it looks like Syria is jihaid central, and I am a central, if broke, kind of guy. I’d have to pass on a job in London for now.
Kurdistan? We could discuss it….

I believe this to be true as well, for the reasons that Robert has outlined. However, I’m further predicting a related future trend so vast that I’ve coined a term for it: The Great Denial. When the reality of Islam becomes impossible to ignore, suddenly great throngs of leftists and liberals will deny that they ever defended Islam, that they ever championed Muslim immigration, that they ever venomously attacked critics of Islam as “racists.” They will deny that they were staunch supporters of Multiculturalism, they will deny that they ever banned people like Robert and Pamela from speaking, they will deny that they brought Wilders up on charges for insulting Islam, etc. They will deny that they ever remained silent about the horrendous violence, misogyny and anti-Semitism emanating from Islam globally. They will deny that they ever abandoned the concept of free speech and embraced Islamic blasphemy restrictions. Why, they will champion themselves and the way they bravely stood up against Islam in the name of liberal values.

Excellent point.
This, of course, is what happened in France after World War II – nobody, just nobody, had ever been a collaborator with the German occupation, everyone had been a brave member of the Résistance.
In Germany, there had never been any Nazis after May 8, 1945. (Actually, many senior National Socialists went to to illustrious careers in communist East Germany.)
Most famously, of course, the denizens of George Orwell’s “1984” have “always been at war with Eastasia.”
William says
Could it be that Obama and all the other elite idiots are using misinformation in order to justify their refusal to deal with the real problem? Maybe they are providing the cliche of ‘nothing to do with Islam’ as evidence or justification for inaction. Saying that be-headings have nothing to do with Islam gives the idiots justification for ignoring the real cause, even though they know it is a lie. Their intention, possibly, is to make the public ignorant so that they, the politicians, get away with not dealing with the cause. Thus, the impetus behind their misdirection is their desire to do nothing, hoping for a complacent audience. Sadly, they know they have a complacent media and they can be deceitful and get away with it. The media won’t challenge the claim. For, on what authority do they make that claim should be an obvious question posed.
Consider this analogy. The wife sees water dripping from the ceiling in the house. She gets worried and tells her husband that there is a hole in the roof. The husband responds, without even investigating, that the leak has nothing to do with hole in the roof. Granted there could be several potential causes of the leak: a busted pipe in the attic, condensation around the pipes, etc. But because he does not want to do anything, he blows it off by saying it has nothing to do with a hole in the roof, all the while a hole is in the roof. His misdirection may get him off the hook to do something. However, if his wife is smart she would ask him how he knows that it has nothing to do with a hole in the roof.

Yeah, every time these Muslim fanatics act like Muslim fanatics, you can cue the stampede of western apologists to reassure us this sort of behavior has absolutely nothing to do with Islam. But if Obama thinks this act is pure evil, is he ready to say that Mohammed beheading over six hundred of his enemies was also pure evil? The Koran admits that Mohammed beheaded his enemies. This is not disputed, even by the most respected Muslims theologians. Obama can redefine Islam every day of the week and twice on Sunday, but Islam is as Islam does. If you want to know why these lunatics are doing the things they are doing, just listen to them. They will tell you right out they are acting on their interpretation of what they believe their MUSLIM religion commands them to do. It’s high time to take them at their word.
I realize these inconvenient truths are beyond the pale for the politically correct poltroons who appease and rationalize all things Islam. It takes a lot of willful obliviousness and denial to somehow explain away the fact that, by beheading people, ISIS is simply following the example of their prophet. Facts are facts. The things written in the Koran are there for anyone who cares to have a look….”When you meet the enemy, strike them in the neck.” It is what it is. There may be moderate Muslims (and unicorns for that matter), but there is no such thing as moderate Islam. Until we come to grips with what is motivating our enemies, grow a backbone and call them out for what they are and get real about what it will take to win this war we are in (declared %100, by them), defeating the totalitarian, supremacist, collectivist, freedom nullifying, anti civilization creed of political Islam, is a highly unlikely.
Rainman says
The problem with Obama is that he is ignoring 1400 years of beheadings starting with the big Mo himself who had hundreds beheaded. Even a cursory look at Muslim history shows the same behavior going back thru eons of time.
These people are like the global warming nuts. They insist the world is about of catch fire even after the coldest winter in recorded history last year in north America. And this winter looks to be even colder already. They are looking at 6 feet of snow in Buffalo by the end of the week, a full week before Thanksgiving.
These two groups seen to be sharing the same war room. They believe that if you scream a lie louder and longer, it becomes true. The problem is is that too many people get all their news from Nancy Grace and if they bothered to step outside they’d fall into a snow bank.
