This bulletin seems a bit tardy, as there has already been lone wolf domestic terrorism recently — the axe-wielding jihadist in New York City, the Oklahoma City beheader, and more. But of course, it isn’t about jihadis at all. The FBI and DHS aren’t warning about lone wolf Islamic jihadists — rather, they’re concerned about violent attacks from adherents of the “Phineas Priest ideology.” Which group is larger? The answer is obvious. But which group has powerful advocates within the Obama Administration?
Contrast this with the FBI taking down a poster of the Most Wanted Terrorists from Seattle buses after Muslims complained that those terrorists were all Muslims.
“FBI, DHS Issue Bulletin for Law Enforcement Warning of Lone Wolf Domestic Terrorism,” ABC News Radio, December 12, 2014:
(NEW YORK) — The FBI and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security have issued a bulletin to local law enforcement agencies around the nation, warning of the threat of lone-wolf domestic terrorists.
The bulletin referenced the Austin, Texas, shooting spree last month in which Larry McQuilliams fired over 100 rounds at a number of buildings, including a federal courthouse, a bank, the Consulate General of Mexico and the Austin Police Department headquarters. Law enforcement ultimately shot and killed McQuilliams.
According to the bulletin, McQuilliams “was at least partially inspired by the Phineas Priest ideology — which advocates lone offender action.” That ideology, expressed in a 1990 book titled Vigilantes of Christendom: The History of the Phineas Priesthood, was interpreted from the story of Phineas in chapter 25 of the biblical Book of Numbers to justify white supremacist violence, the bulletin says. The book was found in a rented van used by McQuilliams during his spree, along with a handwritten note in which he described himself as a member of the “priesthood.”
Law enforcement agencies are warned about the difficulty to identify and track followers of the idology [sic], as they do not rely on “collective resources of an organization with centralized leadership, formal membership, or a coordinating body that can be tracked or monitored by law enforcement.”
The bulletin cites other examples of criminal and terrorist incident tied to believers of the ideology. It also provides law enforcement with some things they can look out for.

All lone wolves including phineas priest are Muslims, the ones that aren’t are simply using Taqqiyah to hide their Muslimness.

The Phineas Priesthood claim to be a Christian movement, but they couldn’t be further from Christ’s example of love and peace, if they tried; they more closely resemble islam & company through their acts of violence and methodology.

200 million Muslims support jihad or are currently jihadists. They are in all countries. Not funny.

On the world stage — (a comparison)
How many lone wolves are out there being inspired to murder by ‘extremist’ right-wing web sites?
That is one question.
on the other hand,
In just the single month of November, how many thousands were butchered by hate speech in the Koran.

I’m pretty sure that the fbi will revoke the warning as soon as they find out that the phineas priests are muslims 🙂
Than they will ask for forgivness and try to excuse themselves for being so islamophob.

They will self-report themselves to the Diversity Officer.

To be fair…I’m not sure I can buy this post…at least not hook, line and sinker.
Lone wolf terrorists exist, and not all are advancing Islam.
Some are just fucked in the head.

Using Old Testament Scripture to justify antisemitism? Not to smart. That type of mental limbo really does require someone closer to islam than Christian. The Baal worshipers truly resemble islam especially the idol in mecca. Janet Reno jumped all over the Branch Davidians full force because why? They claimed there were children being sexually abused of course. So Reno saved them from that by burning them.
duh_swami says
Both Janet and Bill were quick to claim that Koresh killed those people…Then they burned the place down with all the people in it…A black stain on America, courtesy, Bill and Janet.

So now we have obola~holder the virtual skid mark on America, who has insulted rural Americans for clinging to religion and guns while supporting islam, who by the way cling to religion and guns and rape and murder and slavery and global domination and ready to kill anyone who stands in their way.

I have truly never even hear of Phineas Priest before this post on Jihad Watch. I am sure I am in the vast majority — like about 98-99% of people, probably. Shows how minor of a threat these guys are — sort of like getting hit by lighting on a clear blue sky day. Meanwhile, Islamic jihad lone wolf terrorists are swarming all over the world, including the United States, and murder thousands of people every year in the name of Islam, and they are getting worse by the second in their threat level. 7 Islamic inspired murders a second last year was the statistic that just came out! SEVEN ISLAMIC TEXT-BASED MURDERS A SECOND! And it’s ramping up big time to an industrial level — and here we’re getting public warnings about some obscure odd ball nut case? WHO CARES ABOUT THIS GUY?
Don McKellar says
Geez I hope I got that wrong and it’s only seven Islamic murders a minute. Can’t find the article right now…
shrugger says
I seem to recall it was more like 1 every 7 minutes. Have to see if I can find that thing again as well. And I’ve never heard of these people before this article either.

Well, thank goodness! Only 5000 people murdered in the name of Allah (based on the entirely on the Islamic texts) a month! Or 7 slaughtered in the name of Islam an hour! I can sleep at night knowing that Cameron and Biden and Obama and all the rest are only FUCKING WRONG SEVEN TIMES AN HOUR! Phew.
That is an incredible graphic in that link. The BBC finally gets something right with regards to Islam in spite of themselves. Remarkable.
pumbar says
It is quite surprising for the BBC. I must admit I won’t hold my breath that there’s been a sea-change in their reporting though.
Zimriel says
I’ve heard of it. Generally this sort of thing comes out of prison gangs. Sometimes people join the gangs for survival, and get released after doing the time. In the outside world, though, they have criminal records and a lot of tattooes, and end up getting employment with other “ex” criminals.
Seems to me that gangs like this are more about cooking meth and less about terrorism, but I’m sure Eric Holder knows better

Once again the most racist administration ever is warning about WHITE terrorists and not Muslim terrorists.

ISLAMOREALISM…anyone?
According to Daniel Pipes, approximately 10-15% of Muslims around the world actively support militant Islamists (usually economic support to Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, al-Qaeda or other terrorist organisations). Since there are more than 1.2 billion Muslims worldwide that totals 120-180 million.
Those Muslims are spread all over the world and are either militants themselves or direct supporters of militant Islamists. THE PASSIVE SUPPORT FOR ISLAMIC TERRORISM IS MUCH HIGHER.
Some polls show that around 60-65% of Muslims support “Islamic Jihad” and similar Middle Eastern terrorist organizations.
36% of Pakistanis believe that the Pakistani army should NOT pursue al-Qaeda in Pakistan.
Jay Boo says
It is easy for the FBI & DHS to overlook Islam.
Muslims have only been doing this for 1400 years.
A FEW COEXIST MOMENTS IN HISTORY
Muslims deny the Islamic State is all about them.
But, surely the must at least admit that —
Their Muslim revisionist views of the Crusades are a myth.
Long before the days of Pope Francis, the European Christians went into the Muslim occupied Christian lands to bring peace, and love, and freedom. The Crusaders went out on their quest to seek a DIALOG of coexistence with the war mongering Muslims about the abusive dhimmi status and daily persecution of fellow Christians.
Yet, the Kill crazy Koran quoting Muslim armies (aided by some non-Christian opportunistic COLLABORATORS) tried to pull their dhimmi crap on their visitors.
Can we really blame the Christians for bringing their body guards along with them on their peaceful pilgrimage all the way to Jerusalem?
somehistory says
This is a group, small in number, that believe it is their duty to set things right in government. As the article says, they get the idea from the Priest Phineas who, when the Israelites, were engaging in baal worship…much like the baal worship engaged in today by the followers of islam,.. Phineas ran through a man and the woman with a sword. When he did that, the immorality of that circumstance stopped. This group today thinks they should take matters into their own hands to stop things they see as wrong.
However, unlike muslims who murder, bomb, etc. and are labeled as mentally ill and carrying out workplace violence, the members of the Phineas Priesthood who actually commit a crime, are identified for what they say they are and not labeled as mentally ill.
They have been listed as a terrorist organization for a number of years. The same guy who started it, if I am remembering correctly, also started other so-called *Christian* groups, all of which can be shown to be in contradiction of what Christ taught and commanded.
Kepha says
The discussion prompted me to do a little searching on the Phineas Priesthood.
It is apparently a white supremacist/”Christian identity” group based in the NW. The central tenet of a lot of these “Christian identity” groups is that European/white peoples are the true descendants of the Biblical Israelites, and hence must not be mixed with other races. I can’t get too deeply into how they say this happened, but note it’s a transmogrification Anglo-Israelism, which was a late 16th-19th century speculation that the British descend from the Israelites, and that the Stone of Scone was the stone Jacob used for a pillow at Bethel, Anglo-Israelism, in turn, perverts Reformed Covenantal theology, which sees the true Israel as those gathered about the Messiah and their children.
The reference to Phineas comes from the Book of Numbers (ch. 25), in which Phinehas the priest kills a Midianite woman and her Israelite lover over idolatrous worship of Baal-Peor, and thus averts a plague on the Israelites.
While the “Christian Identity” folks are a small group, they should not be taken too lightly. They have been involved in violence, and tend to recruit among prison inmates, criminals, and other marginal types. Their ideology justifies violence against non-white people (including, presumably, South Asians and others who are historically Muslim) and in cases accepts criminal behavior as acceptable if directed against the right targets.
People attracted to various “identity” groups are often those who think they’re restoring society to a state more in keeping with how America was originally meant to be according to its white, Christian founders. Occasionally, there are echoes of Reformed Christian covenantalism in their statements of faith. However, they neglect to note that in 1700, Judge Samuel Sewall published _The Selling of Joseph_, a tract against the slave trade and the enslavement of Blacks, noting that the “Ethiopians” are also descended from Adam the First, are kin to the Second Adam (Christ), and hence to be seen as heir of redemption and worthy of respect. Jonathan Edwards’ Jr. preached against the slave trade as well; while his father believed that the ultimate destiny of the “Negroes and Indians” was to be Christian peers of the whites.Hence, the “identity” movement fails to note that unease with and criticism of racial supremacy also has a very old and respectable white Christian pedigree in the USA.
There is a book critiquing the Anglo-Israelite/”Christian Identity” theology entitled _The Gospel of Race_ by a man named DeBoer. It’s a few decades old and not very easy to find.
Of course, groups like the Phineahas Priesthood are small compared to various Muslim jihadi groups, and doubtlessly a less active and present threat to national secuirity. I will not criticize anyone on JW for pointing this out.
somehistory says
When taking courses on anti-terrorism, I had to read about and distinguish between many groups of various ideologies. Some are very close to others in that they are based more on race than on religion, but may call themselves by religious names. I believe they think it’s easier to squeak by when they claim to have a religion mixed in, as there are people who will identify with Christianity as being acceptable more so than with racial identity. At one time, Christianity was more acceptable than now, and being racist is always wrong. There are both white and black groups. At one time, the government was more concerned with ALF and ELF than with Christian Identity or Phineas. Several groups were started by one man, I think his name was Pearce, and when he died, his groups fell apart as his successor didn’t have the same charisma. There is a group that believes the government has no authority over them and make their own licenses, etc.
But, none are, in my opinion, as dangerous as islam. Not only due to the numbers of followers, but because as Churchill said, it’s like a rabid dog…you can’t reason it out of them. Atticus Finch didn’t try reasoning because he knew rabid dogs are mad and the rabies is fatal. islam is fatal…to followers and non-muslims.
Angemon says
To be fair, I believe this bit – it must be hard for law enforcement agencies to identify lone wolfs when they seem to be unable to keep track on organizations with centralized leadership, formal membership, or a coordinating body. A muslim commits a terrorist attack, the religious leaders in his neighbourhood say they don’t know who he is and never saw in in their mosque, and that’s it. No investigating the mosques and what’s being taught there, no trying to understand why they acted upon a theology that hat regulates all areas of life, divides the world between believer and infidels, requires a state of permanent warfare (although not permanent fighting) between muslims and infidels, and whose texts (quran, sira and ahadith) are full of passages making quite clear that jihad means armed warfare.

I imagine as Islamification and mass immigration is forced on the West. Mischief will happen more often- all over the West. Many people – average people -are becoming ‘radicalized” themselves as the Western governments become more and more extremest. Nigel Farage said something along the lines of ” If you take away democracy all you leave them with is nationalism and violence.”
The man the FBI and DHS are talking about was shooting at buildings. If he had wanted to kill someone I suppose he would have shot at people. I suppose he wanted to get killed. In the last week or so 4 fires have been set – with no injuries. A Chinese/Korean/US developer backed monstrosity in Los Angeles. That was being built to house wealthy Eat Asian Immigrants and students. That almost everyone Los Angeles quietly applauded. I think I saw the firemen trying not to smile and break out in song. Three buildings in Germany as well. I think this mischief will get worse.
I won’t comment on Phineas Priest.

This phoney outfit stinks of a contrived exercise in cultural/theological equivalency by some Islamic co-traveler body or by a Muslim organization using taqiyyah. It’s as fake as those bogus conversion stories to Islam one sees on YouTube.

They just want one – ONE! – example of non-muslims (preferably whites) committing terror, so they can validate the racist left’s favorite critical thinking logical fallacy alibi excuse, aka the Argumentum Tu Quoque; i.e:
“ISLAM ISN’T AN EVIL CRIME BECAUSE WE (i.e: you) ALL DO IT, TOO! WHEE!”
As if merely comparing two or more unrelated wrongs, could make one of them right!

Christy posted:
“Below are quotes which highlight the disturbing similarities between Islamophobic and Antisemitic messages.
Ten statements by ‘anti-jihad’ writer Robert Spencer and Nazi propagandist Julius Streicher are compared.”
The first thing to point out is that this list (which Christy decided to spam on topics regardless of its relevance to the topic at hand) is nothing new:
http://middleclassdub.blogspot.pt/2011/10/islamophobia-and-antisemitism-same.html
The second thing to point out is that Christy (and Colm Ó Broin, the original author of that list) purposely leave out that Robert Spencer reports on what islamic clerics and leaders do and say, and backs what he says with quotes from the quran, ahadith, or islamic leaders or clerics.
Let that sink in for a while. Ó Broin/Christy are arguing that what RS says about islam is similar to nazi propaganda. But RS backs what he says with quotes from islamic sources. Therefore, what Ó Broin/Christy are saying is that islam is similar to nazi propaganda.
So, how about comparing muslims and jews, since Ó Broin/Christy are trying to pass them as being in the same situation? Let’s start with the Jews.
There are no jewish organizations killing non-jews in the name of Yahweh. There are no jewish organizations calling for the establishment of a jewish state run by jewish law. There are no lone-wolf jews committing terror acts for the sake of Yahweh because the OT says that jews who kill and are killed for Yahweh are admitted into paradise. In fact, the violence in the OT is descriptive and restricted to specific times and places.
Now let’s see how the muslims fare.
There are muslim organizations killing non-muslims (and muslims who are deemed to be not devout enough) for the sake of allah. All over the world we see muslim groups calling for the establishment of a caliphate run by islamic law. All around the world muslims commit lone-wolf terror attacks because the quran says that those who kill and are killed in the name of allah are admitted into paradise. The quran mandates warfare against non-muslims for ever until islam rules all over the world.
The nazi propaganda who unjustly portrayed jews as shrewd, devious creatures was just that: propaganda. In fact, much of it still lives on in the islamic world:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antisemitic_canard
A Nazi German cartoon circa 1938 depicts Churchill as a Jewish octopus encircling the glob
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antisemitic_canard#mediaviewer/File:OctopusNAS1.jpg
The same imagery revived on the cover of the 2001 Egyptian edition of The International Jew.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antisemitic_canard#mediaviewer/File:2001_ed_The_International_Jew_by_Henry_Ford.jpg
Anyone claiming that muslims are being persecuted worldwide the same way jews were persecuted in pre-WWII Germany should be committed to a mental asylum for life. Where are the muslims being forced to use a green crescent on their clothes to let everyone else knew that they are muslims, like the jews who had to wear a yellow star of David? Where are the signs on restaurants, or barbershops, or anywhere else saying “NO MUSLIMS ALLOWED”? Where are muslims being forced by the government to live in ghettos? The treatment of jews in pre-WWII Germany and of muslims nowadays is as far apart as zero is from infinity, no matter what grievance mongers like Ó Broin or Christy here would have us think.
