“The cropped image of Santa Claus about to be beheaded isn’t just part of the Islamic State’s humor or entirely a joke. It emanates from a supremacist worldview that seeks the forced extinction of all contrary beliefs.” “Islamic State Mocks US With Photoshopped Santa Held Hostage,” by Ryan Mauro, Clarion Project, December 18, 2014:
Islamic State members and supporters online are distributing a photoshopped image of Santa Claus being held hostage by the group. The dark humor and heavy sarcasm of Islamic State (ISIS) supporters define its aggressive social media campaigns that position the group as the “cool” successor to the out-of-style Al-Qaeda.
It is unconfirmed if the original source was created by an Islamic State member/supporter, though an intelligence source involved in monitoring extremist online activity believes it was. Nonetheless, Islamic State supporters have happily been posting it and using it to mock the U.S. and Christmas.
Celebrating Christmas is viewed as heresy or even blasphemy, which is punishable by death under sharia law by some Islamists. Muslims believe that Christianity contradicts the singularity of God by believing that Jesus was the Son of God, instead of limiting him to an admirable prophet.
Islamic attitudes towards Christmas celebrations greatly vary, even among Islamists.
Muslim Brotherhood spiritual leader Sheikh Yousef al-Qaradawi condemns public celebrations of Christmas in Muslim countries, including the displaying of Christmas decorations with no overt religious meaning.
IslamWeb, a pro-Qaradawi website, has a fatwa against celebrating Christmas that orders Muslims to “try to get your children out of the holiday spirit by spending quality time with them, by traveling with them (if possible), and by decreasing their exposure to the holiday influence on TV and in shopping malls.”
The webpage for that fatwa also references Muzammil Siddiqi, a founder of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and current chairman of the Fiqh Council of North America. He says “Muslim families should not have Christmas trees in their homes, nor should they put up lights inside or outside their homes at this time.”
A radical California-based group named the Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America (AMJA) has a fatwa permitting Muslims to exchange gifts on Christmas with relatives and friends as long as the non-Muslims understand that they are not celebrating the holiday. Another fatwa bans saying “Merry Christmas.”
Yet another AMJA fatwa says Muslims cannot sell Christmas decorations or play Christmas music. Any business transactions related to Christmas must have their profit donated to charity and Muslims need to try to find another job if their place of employment refuses to stop playing the music. Muslims are permitted to stay if they cannot find another job.
For more extreme and intolerant groups like the Islamic State, the mythology of Santa Claus is even offensive, even though Santa is not a reflection of Christianity but rather the more secular aspects of the holiday.
Islamists often believe that Jesus will return with the Islamic messiah, called the Mahdi, to defeat infidel forces and implement sharia around the globe. The prophecies state that Jesus will destroy a cross in order to debunk Christianity, thereby absorbing the faith into Islam….
This is not just an “Islamist” belief. It is based on this hadith: “Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, ‘By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, son of Mary (Jesus) will shortly descend amongst you people (Muslims) as a just ruler and will break the Cross and kill the pig and abolish the Jizya (a tax taken from the non-Muslims, who are in the protection, of the Muslim government). Then there will be abundance of money and no-body will accept charitable gifts.'” (Bukhari 3.34.425)
The cropped image of Santa Claus about to be beheaded isn’t just part of the Islamic State’s humor or entirely a joke. It emanates from a supremacist worldview that seeks the forced extinction of all contrary beliefs.

Remember, folks, you’re hearing this from a dyed-in-the-wool, God-bless-King-Billy Protestant.
The real Saint Nick would’ve had Mr. Black-robed Kluxer either begging for mercy or confessing Christ right there on the sand next to him.
Nicholas of Myra was famous for his care for the poor in the city of Myra, where he was bishop just before the conversion of Constantine. Arrested in Diocletian’s persecution, he was tortured for refusal to renounce Christ, and barely missed being turned into living lion chow because Diocletian stepped down, Constantine took power, and declared Christianity legal. Released, Nicholas resumed his duties.
At the Council of Nicaea (325), Nicholas had a run-in with Muhammad’s precursor, the Alexandrian presbyter Arius, who made Jesus Christ into a secondary God rather than consubstantial with the the Father and Spirit. Nicholas actually punched out the arch-heretic; and had he lived a few centuries longer, he probably would’ve done the same to Old Mo–right in front of all of Mo’s warriors, wives, and pederastical playthings.
Jesus Christ has conquered death by rising from the dead on the third day after truly suffering and dying on the cross to make atonement for us sinners (I Cor. 15). Muhammad still lies in a grave in Medina awaiting judgment from Jesus Christ.

Hi Kepha, The Islamic belief that martyrs receive 72 virgins in paradise and the Christian belief that Jesus is now in heaven are equally mad. This world is full of beliefs that should not survive an elementary school education.
Don McKellar says
Yes, it is the difference between somebody who has grown up and become a fully functioning adult and those who haven’t quite gotten there. The more devout the religious person is, the more childish they are. The moslems who stomp their feet demanding apologies at the faintest slight and try to bully and intimidate people, show that they are at the most immature level of religionists. Their religion is designed that way — to keep them perpetually childish in the most vile and cruel way.
Western Canadian says

Western Canadian is calling me names for pointing out the obvious observation that Islam is designed to keep its followers perpetually childish in the most vile and cruel way.
Alrighty then.

Things like love they neighbor are such horrendous beliefs to have. I am agnostic but I disagree with the atheists and others in that camp greatly on this issue. I feel Christianity actually has a positive influence on society and many devout Christians tend to be some very wonderful people to be around. Their spiritual beliefs don’t hinder their growth in anyway shape or form. One doesn’t have to believe but can still respect who the founder was and what his ideology was, one of kindness and respect for humanity.

Maybe run down a couple of whitetails and eat the meat raw? And I’m sure Don and Eddie are way too educated and sensitive and knowing to be bigots! They wouldn’t LIE about the likes of us, would they ? [sarc off].

Here is what this is saying: EXPECT AN ISIS TERROR ATTACK ON THE USA TO STEAL CHRISTMAS.
Really. That’s what they’re saying. In fact, I’d even suggest it will be a suicide bombing of a mall Santa. Yes, you heard it here first. That’s the logical extraction of this jihadi taunt from the Islamic State.
St. Croix says
I am expecting some attacks on Christians this Christmas, but I hope I am wrong. At least I am certain there will be attempts. So much has changed since last Christmas; the world is not the same world by far. A year ago who would’ve foreseen these random attacks happening now every day, including in North America. And as Islamists hate Xmas and want to “strike terror” it’s a real chance for them to do some damage.
gravenimage says
Christmas attacks have indeed happened. An Infidel couple were attacked by Muslims wielding chains in Denmark; a German man was stabbed for shouting “Merry Christmas!” in a “Muslim area”, and Christians in Pakistan, Nigeria, and Egypt had to celebrate Christmas with heavy security and under Muslim threats.
In other years, Muslims have bombed churches and shot up Christmas services, as well as targeting Christmas markets in Europe.
Western Canadian says
Actually, most attacks on Christmas and Santa come from atheistic morons like you, Don.
Laura says
I guess we can expect to see very many attacks on Christians from Christmas Eve onwards, in Nigeria, Pakistan, Egypt, Iraq, Indonesia, Malaysia, and in other islamic countries where peace and respect for diversity are at the heart of the islamic ethos.
However, I don’t expect to see any attacks by atheists on anything, or anyone.
Darren says
They attack Christianity in a different way. Just like how the Taliban tore down all of those Buddhist statues in Afghanistan the militant atheists are trying to remove any reference to Christianity from western civilization, even though Christianity is part of the foundation of western civilization. I’m not even Christian, I’m agnostic, but this fact can’t be denied. I also feel Christianity is a benefit to society. If one actually reads what Jesus was about, he was a peaceful man/son of god whatever your belief, who preached love, tolerance, and betterment for humanity. How this ideology is so offensive to people I still don’t understand.
Vienna says
I wanted to reply to Darren and others who keep putting all Atheists into one ‘crowd’, please note not all Atheists are the same. I am an Atheist and my family celebrates Christmas and Easter, not in the Biblical sense but in a fun family traditional sense. We (my family and friends) respect people’s right to believe or not believe or be uncertain off whatever they wish. The Atheists in my crowd, understand our religious heritage and the good things that have come from that tradition, however believe that these traditions were born from man not God. islam does not inspire love and hope, it inspires hate and death, islam is not like other religions, as stated many times before, it is a political ideology designed to control EVERYTHING! But I digress, my point being not all Atheists dismiss religion as something that should be removed from society, if religion inspires hope and love, that’s not a bad thing.
Darren says
I didn’t put all atheists in the same crowd. I said militant atheist not atheists, because I wasn’t painting all atheists as the same. I’m agnostic I don’t believe in any religion, though I still believe in intelligent design, I just simply think we need to know more about the universe and ourselves before we can figure out what god is. That doesn’t mean I can’t respect ideologies like Christianity and it’s founder who inspired man to do good. Trying to live live like Christ is a noble ideal and one that I respect, even if I have my doubts if he was really the son of god, but to each his own. Sorry if you misunderstood and thought I was putting all atheists into the same category. I know many reasonable atheists who aren’t trying to tear down Christianity as well. It’s the Taliban type atheists who want to erase vestiages of Christianity that I have issues with.

Question for Muslims 12-20-14
If Islam is the “religion of peace”, where in Sheikh Abdullah bin Humaid’s article on jihad can I find the equivalent of “Love Thy Neighbor” and “good will toward men”?
Explain its prominence, and significance almost as an “Introduction”, in a book, (my Summarized Sahih Al-Bukhari published by Dar-Us-Salam), that’s described as “the most authentic and true among the books of the Prophet”
Compare Humaid’s “jihad” and Emmet Fox’ Sermon on the Mount and tell me which one best represents a spirit of Love and “compassion” and tell me….
….Why, out of all the articles, out of all the words of pearly Muslim wisdom they could have put in this, “the most authentic and true among the books of the Prophet”, this is the one they chose to submit and use almost as an Introduction?
Jihad in the Qur’an and Sunnah by ‘Abdullâh bin Muhammad bin Humaid (Isn’t that interesting: I had two links to this article that no longer work. In any case, Google it. It should be easy to find)
Also address “jihad” as it’s defined in Reliance of the Traveller and answer the same question. (Chapter O-9.0: Jihad O: “Jihad means to war against non-Muslims, and is etymologically derived from the word mujahada signifying warfare to establish the religion.” And explain why the “greater” jihad is only mentioned once here and never seen again in this “Classic Manual of Islamic Sacred Law”.)
I’ve posted this many times to many Muslims and have yet to get a single response. Well, I did receive a response from some goofball named “Dr.” Mohsen El-Guindy asking me to read his books. Instead I downloaded a bunch of his articles. Which were pure rants. An Imam, sidestepped it by telling me I had to “study Islam” to gain a greater understanding.

We Muslims do not believe in the commercialism of Christmas. Santa Claus is the symbol of this kind of unislamic behavior, as well as unchristian because it is against the teachings of Prophet Isa (PBUH). If you ask me, I think Christmas was meant as a time of pious meditation about the life of Prophet Isa (PBUH) and his service to Allah (SWT).
I would say that in Western tales there is a being who has this same vision of Christmas, the Grinch, who wants to do away with the commercialism of Christmas. I realized this when my son was watching some cartoons and he asked me if the Grinch is more islamic because he is green which is the color of Islam, while Santa is always red.
Kepha says
Squeeze, what a blasphemer you are! You take the high-and-mighty view that you might wish peace on Jesus Christ when you should be seeking his peace on you!
Myxlplik says
Squeeze,
Interesting analogy, so while the Grinches heart was 2 sizes too small he was green, Mohammeds favorite color, he was compassionless, mean spirited, and a heartless bandit. Very Islamic.
Later, when the Grinch is filled with Christmas Spirit, his heart grows, as he gains compassion and then dawns a red Christmas suite, covering his Islamic greenness. Essentially, as the Grinch becomes an apostate his heart is filled with joy, as his sins are washed away.
Out of the mouths of babes as they say, brilliant observation by your son…

My God, what crap. “squeezethejiuce” knows that Islam bans *any* celebration of Christmas.
And the vicious “Isa” is *not* the Jesus of the Gospels. What is the “service” that “Isa” gives to Allah? In Islam, “Isa” in the last days gives Christians the choice of conversion to Islam or death, and then *murders any who remain Christian*.
So the main purpose of “Isa” is to slaughter Christians.
Don’t you just love how Muslims tell Christians that they are not really practicing Christianity unless they lay their throats on the sword? *Ugh*.
And this is not opposition to any kind of “commercialism”—”squeezethejuice’s” pious coreligionists enjoy bombing churches and attacking church services. They hate devout Christians as much as they hate any secular celebration of Christmas—they *hate it all*, because it is not Islamic.
Only the celebration of Muslims butchering Infidels and slaughtering animals in the streets is considered Islamic—anything else is Haram, and its celebrants subject to the most appalling violence.
More:

It seems that “squeezethejuice” has missed the *redemption* of the Grinch, where he realizes that “Christmas doesn’t just come from a store”, but is about love.
Of course, even the pre-redemption Grinch doesn’t hold a candle to Muslims, who would not just steal the Who’s decorations and feast, but would machine-gun them as they came out to hold hands with their neighbors and sing.
Have I mentioned how I loath Islam?
And if “squeezethejuice” is telling the truth, he is passing on his virulent antisemitism and Islamic hatred of the good onto innocent children. *Ugh*.

In all fairness, as for holding “Santa hostage” is rather harmless. For it’s much better and also good if those ISIS guys would just stick to holding, “Santa hostage.” That character of myth and fiction is of no real worth or value. So to hold “Santa hostage”, that’s OK .The ISIS villains should not hold real people hostage. If you ask me, I think Christmas was meant as a time of pious meditation about the life of Prophet Isa (PBUH) and his service to Allah (SWT)
How is Santa Claus un-Christian oh muslim? And who is this prophet Isa? If you think you can convince any sane person that your founder’s loony concoction of Arabic pagan myths, errant “christian” doctrines and other such tripe in any way represent, or bear any resemblance to truth, or has any validity whatsoever then you are deluded. As such you have no place to comment on Santa Claus, Christianity or Judaism or anything outside the realm of Islam as you have no knowledge of any of the afore-mentioned; patently obvious by your complete lack of knowledge concerning Jesus, the founder of Christianity.
So as for Christmas “being meant as a time of pious meditation about the life of Prophet Isa and his service to Allah” you got it wrong pal. Because Christmas is about meditating on the Only Begotten Son of God, Jesus, miraculously conceived in the womb of Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit, and the salvation he brought to the world; and further about His complete obedience to the will of God the Father in giving His life on the Cross for the sake of mankind out of love (an alien concept to Islam). In doing so He shows that Satan (aka allah) has no power over Him and if we follow and trust Him and do His will, Satan (aka allah) will have no power over us.
So we won’t ask you about Christmas because it has nothing at all to do with this fictitious character of the Islamic world that you call Isa or his demonic buddy you call Allah.
Hope the raisins keep well chump!
