If it is the account of some other Syed Choudhury, British officials should drop plans for their next “outreach” meeting and devote some resources to watching him very closely. A 19-year-old man from the Grangetown area of Cardiff has been charged with two terrorism-related offences.
The man was arrested in raids across Cardiff and Barry last week.
Syed Choudhury was arrested in raids across Cardiff and Barry last week.
He has been charged under the Section 12 of the Terrorism Act 2000, creating offences in relation to the support of proscribed organisations and under the Section 5, Terrorism Act 2006 for assisting in the preparation of an act of terrorism. He was remanded in custody.
Five men were arrested in Cardiff and Barry during dawn raids by counter-terrorism police on December 4.
They carried out search warrants at six addresses – five in Cardiff and one in Barry.
