“When did Muhammad ever behead anyone?” asks Selvedin Beganovic. He meant it as a rhetorical question to show that the Islamic State is un-Islamic. But then there is this:
“Then they [the Jewish Qurayzah tribe] surrendered, and the apostle [Muhammad] confined them in Medina in the quarter of d. al-Harith, a woman of B. Al-Najjar. Then the apostle went out to the market of Medina (which is still its market today) and dug trenches in it. Then he sent for them and struck off their heads in those trenches as they were brought out to him in batches. Among them was the enemy of Allah Huyayy b. Akhtab and Ka’b b. Asad their chief. There were 600 or 700 in all, though some put the figure as high as 800 or 900.” — Ibn Ishaq 690
Beganovic also says: “When did [Muhammad] take a knife and slaughter an innocent journalist?”
Well, I don’t think there were any people who thought of themselves as “journalists” in seventh-century Arabia, or in the eighth or ninth centuries when the traditions about Muhammad were assembled. But as for slaughtering innocent people, there is this: “Kinana b. al-Rabi`, who had the custody of the treasure of B. al-Nadir, was brought to the apostle who asked him about it. He denied that he knew where it was. A Jew came (T. was brought) to the apostle and said that he had seen Kinana going round a certain ruin every morning early. When the apostle said to Kinana, ‘Do you know that if we find you have it I shall kill you?’ he said Yes. The apostle gave orders that the ruin was to be excavated and some of the treasure was found. When he asked him about the rest he refused to produce it, so the apostle gave orders to al-Zubayr b. al-Awwam, ‘Torture him until you extract what he has,’ so he kindled a fire with flint and steel on his chest until he was nearly dead. Then the apostle delivered him to Muhammad b. Maslama and he struck off his head, in revenge for his brother Mahmud.” (Ibn Ishaq 515).
Besides showing that Selvedin Beganovic is not entirely free of disingenuousness when he opposes the Islamic State, this story also illustrates that the caliphate enjoys much support among Muslims, even in “moderate” Bosnia, where all the Muslims are (we’re told, and must believe on pain of charges of “Islamophobia”) are secular and pro-Western.
“Bosnian imam attacked 7 times over call to stay out of Syria,” by Amel Emric, Associated Press, January 5, 2015:
TRNOVI, Bosnia-Herzegovina (AP) — The long-bearded man burst into the mosque’s yard and pinned Selvedin Beganovic to the ground. Shouting “Now I will slaughter you!” he plunged a knife three times into the imam’s chest and fled.
It was no random attack: Beganovic has suffered seven assaults blamed on Muslim extremists in the past year — with three just last month.
The apparent reason for the jihadi wrath? Beganovic uses his pulpit to tell the faithful in predominantly Muslim Bosnia they have no business fighting in Syria or Iraq. And he vows to keep preaching the message no matter how many times extremists try to silence him.
“That is not our war,” the imam told The Associated Press in his small northwestern town. “Our jihad in Bosnia is the fight against unemployment. The care for our parents who have small pensions. The care for the socially jeopardized.”
Some 150 Bosnians have joined Islamic militants in Syria or Iraq, officials estimate, with many fighting for the Islamic State group. All are apparently members of a small community that follows an ultra-conservative interpretation of Islam. Last month, a court in Bosnia charged a man believed to be the spiritual leader of the group with recruiting Bosnians to fight with Islamic militants in Syria and organizing a terrorist group.
Beganovic, who preaches every week to a full mosque, tells his followers that groups like IS are spreading a “perverted version of Islam.”
“When did (the Prophet) Muhammad ever behead anyone?” he said. “When did he take a knife and slaughter an innocent journalist?”…

Maybe after one of the next few assaults, if he survives, this guy might start having some doubts about just how peaceful Islam really is, and maybe do some serious homework. Talk about blind faith.

Thank you Robert for pointing out that the prophet Mohammed (feces be upon him) beheaded 600 to 700 people. That guy (pig spunk be upon him) was a real psychopath.

Don’t forget the Big Lie theory: if a falsehood is repeated loud enough and often enough, it takes on the properties of truth. No big media outlet, including Fox RINO, will even report on this guy’s plight, and if by some amazing exception they did, they certainly would not point out that his implication that the Holy Prophet never beheaded anyone would certainly not be questioned with the easily verifiable facts of the matter.
Michael Copeland says
The nearest equivalent to a journalist for Mohammed would have been the performer (and doubtless composer) of topical satirical songs. There was one, a woman, in Mecca when he took the town by force, whose songs had mocked him. He had her killed.

Might be why mo hated music and to this day the imam’s say music is unislamic.

Don’t forget Abu Afak, he was skewered in his sleep just like Asma Marwan. In fact, her song about her tribe’s gutless reaction to Afak was the cause of her also being made gutless, as in her entrails spilled out of her thorax.
These two contract murders were seminal events in the founding of Islam. My guess is that only a few thousand of the 325 million Americans know this fact, which is freely admitted in the Hah-Deaths and sacralized histories.

“When did [Muhammad] take a knife and slaughter an innocent journalist?” Here…
Several poets were murdered by Muhammad at Mecca for the crime of having mocked him. Another such poet, named Ka’b bin Zuhayr, saved his own skin by converting to Islam after finding no other way to avoid execution. (Ibn Ishaq 888-889).
1. Uqba bin Abu Muayt harassed and mocked Muhammad in Mecca and wrote derogatory verses about him. Muhammad ordered him to be executed. Source: Bukhari, vol. 4, no. 2934; Muslim, vol. 3, nos. 4422, 4424; Ibn Ishaq, p. 308 / 458.
2. Asma bint Marwan was a poetess who belonged to a tribe of Medinan pagans, and whose husband was named Yazid b. Zayd. She composed a poem blaming the Medinan pagans for obeying a stranger (Muhammad) and for not taking the initiative to attack him by surprise. Mohammed asked, “Who will rid me of Marwan’s daughter?” A member of her husband’s tribe volunteered and crept into her house that night. She had five children, and the youngest was sleeping at her breast. The assassin gently removed the child, drew his sword, and plunged it into her, killing her in her sleep. Source: Ibn Ishaq, pp. 675-76 / 995-96.
3. Abu Afak, an centenarian elder of Medina, belonging to a group of clans who were associated with the god Manat (though another account has him as a Jew), wrote a derogatory poem about Muhammad, extolling the ancestors of his tribe who were strong enough to overthrow mountains and to resist submitting to an outsider (Muhammad) who divides two large Medinan tribes with religious commands like “permitted” and “forbidden.” Mohammed asked, “Who will deal with this rascal for me?” That night, Salim b. Umayr “went forth and killed him.” One of the Muslims wrote a poem in reply: “A hanif [monotheist or Muslim] gave you a thrust in the night saying / ‘Take that Abu Afak in spite of your age!’” Source: Ibn Ishaq p. 675 / 995.
4. Kab bin al-Ashraf had the gift of poetry, and after the Battle of Badr, he wrote a widely circulated poem, a hostile lament, over the dead of Mecca.
e asked, “Who would rid me of [Kab]?” Five Muslims volunteered, one of whom was Kab’s foster-brother named Abu Naila. They informed him, “O apostle of God [Muhammad], we shall have to tell lies.” He answered, “Say what you like, for you are free in the matter.” They severed Kab’s head and brought it to Muhammad. Zimriel says
Opinion journalists existed (and exist!) in Arabia today. These were the poets. And this is what Muhammad did to a poet in Madina:
Uqba [b. Abi Muayt]… harassed and mocked Muhammad in Mecca and wrote derogatory verses about him. He too was captured during the Battle of Badr, and Muhammad ordered him to be executed. “But who will look after my children, O Muhammad?” Uqba cried with anguish. “Hell,” retorted the prophet coldly. Then the sword of one of his followers cut through Uqba’s neck.
Wondering about the “he too”? That’s because Uqba wasn’t the only poet to feel Muhammad’s blade.

This is why we can’t have reformers: they need to put a lid on some of muhammad’s unsavory actions to justify good behaviour (I’m ruling out ignorance because the guy’s a freaking imam – although I’ve seen some ignorant imams), and devout muslims don’t like it.

“And he vows to keep preaching the message no matter how many times extremists try to silence him.”
This man is a hero, albeit a stupid one.
He believes in a peaceful version of Islam and a peaceful Muhammad. He is ready to die for this belief. Thus, he is a hero.
On the other hand, he’s wrong. Islam is evil to the core because Muhammad was. He is willing to die for a false belief. Thus, he is a stupid hero.

He must have been reading Reza Aslan…If jihad is struggle, I struggle jihad every day to just get into a sitting position in bed…Am I ill, no, just lazy.
I was going to start a jihad against laziness, but I was too lazy to do it.
Beganovic, who preaches every week to a full mosque, tells his followers that groups like IS are spreading a “perverted version of Islam.”
Man, that perverted version is is rough isn’t it? I wonder who dared to pervert it like that? All these jihadi’s grew to adulthood on the real version, and now follow a perverted version. That many apostates and hypocrites must concern Allah a lot. It’s going to take a lot of boiling water to quench the thirst of that many hypocrites..
