“Death to France, death to Israel, death to Britain, death to Charlie Hebdo.” Meanwhile, in the Britain on which the protesters wish death, the BBC is certain that the vast majority of Muslims reject jihad and embrace the freedom of speech. Where are they marching?
“Iran cities in big protests over Charlie Hebdo,” Agence France-Presse, January 23, 2015:
Tens of thousands took to the streets in cities across Iran after Friday prayers to condemn French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo for publishing a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad.
The biggest demonstrations were in cities other than Tehran, with state television showing large crowds angered at the depiction of the prophet.
The image was published one week after 12 people were killed by Islamist gunmen at the magazine’s Paris offices because of earlier such cartoons.
“Death to France, death to Israel, death to Britain, death to Charlie Hebdo,” the crowds chanted in southern cities such as Qom and Isfahan, carrying flags and placards in reverence to the prophet.
The protests follow a loud but peaceful demonstration Monday outside the French embassy in Tehran where those gathered called for the ambassador to be expelled.
The cartoon has angered many Muslims as images of the prophet are widely considered forbidden in Islam, and triggered protests in Asia, Africa and the Middle East, some of which turned deadly….

So what? They protested against a cartoon that made fun of their prophet. BIG DEAL. I wish more Christians would have more respect for Jesus and get upset when people made fun HIM!
stop reading extremely biased news sites like this one that just promote fear and instill hatred against a specific group of people who, for the majority, are very peaceful people. Thank you.

They did march. Remember June 2009. No one came to their help. They were butchered.
In Egypt, the army sided with the people, and they won. In Iran, the army sided with the regime.
I wouldn’t blame the Iranian oppressed citizen, I would rather blame those who could have helped, and did not.

And? I don’t give a damn about what islam forbids. What I do give a damn about is what islam says of me as a non-believer. And from what it says about me, I have plenty reasons to be angry at islam and muslims.

Absolutely. It is disgusting. They demand compassion, respect, and understanding but won’t offer the same.

It is time to send John Kerry to Iran with a singer to give them a hug and a warm loving song. This will cure all the problems of the world. Love is all you need. I am feeling it in the air my self. Love, love and more love.

Love the bold words “after Friday prayers.” Think about the planning that took place that day. “First, we pray. Next, we burn stuff in the streets while screaming and hollering and spewing hatred. Oh, and don’t forget your American and French flags, matches, and pictures of men with turbans!”

Death, death, death and more death. And you say it’s not a Death Cult?
The point about the vast majority of protesters having never seen or read the cartoons is very true and proves that these people are being told what to think and what to do. This is exactly what is so scary about Islam – they are like millions of Manchurian Candidates.

I was there in 1971, the people were friendly and interested in the West. I sense that many still are but, as elsewhere in the Muslim world, there is a major schism between regular people and the Theocratic nutcases. Unfortunately the nutcases are in control, at the moment.

The uniform, compliant, and non-spontaneous “demonstrations” are instructed in the mosques. The fatwa by Dr. Salah al-Sawy, the secretary-general of the Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America (AMJA), 28 March 2011 explains it:
“… the Ummah [Muslim community] possesses no power except to acknowledge and obey, following the saying of the Most High:
“It is not fitting for a Believer, man or woman, when a matter has been decided by Allah and His Messenger to have any option about their decision: if any one disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he is indeed on a clearly wrong Path” [Qur’an 33:36].”
http://www.translatingjihad.com/2011/03/american-muslim-leader-issues-fatwa.html
The phrase “on a clearly wrong path” means “has left Islam”, and so is available to be killed, vigilante style, by anyone without penalty “since it is killing someone who deserves to die” (Manual of Islamic Law, “Reliance of the Traveller” o8.4). The Manual is a free download.

I concur with a majority of the other posts. Most of the people at these rallies have never seen or even heard of Charlie Hebdo, and they probably don’t even give a damn. After the show of solidarity in the West, the muslim world needed to respond. Despite the pathetic turn out of “stand by the prophet” Texas activists, the other muslims decided to show the rest of us their solidarity. But, it was also a show of solidarity towards each other, kind of like who is with us? In the West, our show of solidarity was based on voluntary participation. The muslim world just demonstrated their ability to mobilize people. All they had to do is tell people to stand by their prophet. No body really cares about Charlie Hebdo. That attack is insignificant compared to what is going on in other places. Nigeria comes to mind. Charlie Hebdo provided a convenient rallying call. The numbers that we see turning out in the muslim world is an example of one of the enablers of islam.

MKG, I understand what you’re saying. I for the life of me cannot understand the ignorance of the world to think that this is going to go away! I don’t understand how anyone with any sense can think that what is happening has nothing to do with Islam. Just what do these people need?
Look at obama. If he’s not a Muslim I will kiss your bare butt. He refuse to use the words Islamic terrorists. He refuse to help Israel. He is giving Iran support money. Why would the POTUS do these idiotic things if he didn’t want to wreck his country? Why so many muslims in strategic positions in our government? Why are so many people just willing to sit back and ride rather than do the right thing. All this is bordering on insanity. The whole world needs to be afraid right now and not sitting around scratching their their collective asses.
MKG says
Timothius,
Your concerns are legitimate. I have no idea what Obama is, so I can not hold you to your promise. I do firmly believe he hates this country and everything it stands for. Muslim influence? Yes. Also remember, he spent 15 years in rev. Wright’s church. The man is a manner of many things, a liar and a hardened socialist among them.
The thing that slays me the most are all the rest of the world leaders who do and say the same things. I think I understand the liberal mind to the point where they want to build a corral for unicorns. They are trying desperately to create a new world, and become founding fathers. But that is the whims of those in charge. As far as the man on the street liberals, their idea of freedom is to be free of responsibility.
Not to get off topic too far, essentially we have a progressive, modern, flexible culture coming into contact with an overdeveloped ancient inflexible culture. They just don’t mix. Right now every one is flexing their muscles, testing each other out and deciding on am overall strategy. The muslim’s objectives are quite clear. The west’s objectives are muddled. In our attempts to enjoy individuality we have unwoven quite a bit of the fabric of our culture. Our cohesiveness is breaking down into smaller patches where subcultures are becoming more important that any dominant cultures.
When it comes to the interest of saving our people and our culture, there is a term we all need to think about very carefully, and that is, “Human Resource.” That is all we are to our leaders. Something to consume and discard. Yes, they are for education of a certain sort and health care. That is to ensure we can perform as viable human resources. Put that into your pipe and smoke it.
To finally address your maim concern, they will throw us into the fight en-mass. That is, when THEIR very existence hangs in the balance.
War is a machine that consumes lives. As long as there are people who are willing to feed that machine, it’s appetite will only grow.

It’s not just cartoons, it’s any old excuse for a tantrum and public orgasm.
Thanks to Allah, those are always lurking just below the surface of the pious, often breaking through in an orgy of emotional release called an ‘Allahgasm’ in Islamo-psychology. In a group Allahgasm it is common for some people to get killed. Public Allahgasms are becoming more frequent as more light is shown on Allah who is a creature of the dark. But don’t worry, this has absolutely nothing to do with Islam…

I do not justify the violence perpetrated by the Muslim militants, but the constant provocation of the Muslims by Charlie Hebdo is racism pure and simple. If they dared show a Jew or a black person in a bad light, the wrath of the world would come down on Charlie Hebdo. Freedom of Speech obviously depends on who you agree with. If it’s an offensive cartoon directed against Jews, it’s anti-semetism. If it’s an offensive cartoon directed against muslims, it’s free speech.
I am a Christian born Canadian. And befitting my religion, I promote tolerance…and not hatred and racism.

Robin Michetti posted:
“I do not justify the violence perpetrated by the Muslim militants, but”
And after the “but” comes the justification.
“the constant provocation of the Muslims by Charlie Hebdo is racism pure and simple.”
Why?
“If they dared show a Jew or a black person in a bad light”
Which they did. Jews, at least.
“the wrath of the world would come down on Charlie Hebdo.”
One writer was fired for suggesting Sarkozy’s son converted to Judaism and married a Jewess to advance in life. The writer was a rabid anti-semite who wished death to Jews and refused to apologize for his column (I think his words were “I’d rather cut off my balls than apologize”) and he lost his job, sued for unlawful termination and won. No wrath of the world came down on CH, no one died for it. Likewise for the National Front, the so-called “extreme right”. There was a cartoon of Marine Le Pen shaving her pubes into a Hitler-moustache and CH didn’t suffer for it. Only muslims decided that CH deserved the death penalty because they made a representation of muhammad. Not because the cartoons were “offensive” or “racist”, just because they dared to represent muhammad, which is forbidden under islamic law. Remember the Danish cartoons? Same thing.
“Freedom of Speech obviously depends on who you agree with.”
Nope. That would be group-think. The concept of freedom of speech exists to defend unpopular speech, not popular speech.
“If it’s an offensive cartoon directed against Jews, it’s anti-semetism. If it’s an offensive cartoon directed against muslims, it’s free speech.”
Nope. Like I said, CH published cartoons of jews and no harm came from it. If anything, it’s muslims who cry “racism” and “islamophobia” at pretty much everything. It’s true that it cartoons about jews might be under heavier scrutiny because of the WWII nazi propaganda – which, BTW, still lives on in the islamic world – but I don’t see Jews calling anti-semitism on every cartoon featuring Jews. I do, however, see muslims doing the slick false comparison you’re doing.
“I am a Christian born Canadian. And befitting my religion, I promote tolerance…and not hatred and racism.”
Do you tolerate intolerance?
