Islamic Republic of Iran: Police arrest 50 women for “un-Islamic” dress

Jan 2, 2015 7:19 pm By Robert Spencer

Iranian women in Western clothing“According to police, they were guilty of wearing “shameful and immoral dress in public,” not in accordance with the Islamic code, which was put in place by Ayatollah Khomeini in the beginning of 1981. He ordered covering all the parts of the body except the face and wrists.” Khomeini didn’t originate that. It comes from the hadith that has Aisha recount Muhammad’s saying to a woman: “‘O Asma’, when a woman reaches the age of menstruation, it does not suit her that she displays her parts of body except this and this,’ and he pointed to her face and hands.” (Sunan Abu Dawud 4092)

“Iranian police arrested 50 women for ‘un-Islamic’ dress,” by Hagai Lap, Jerusalem Post, January 1, 2015:

Morality police arrested a number of women for immodest dress in Tehran last week, according to reports from the Islamic Republic.

Officers reportedly confronted and arrested a big group of women walking near Vanak square, in an affluent area of the Iranian capital’s northern region.

According to police, they were guilty of wearing “shameful and immoral dress in public,” not in accordance with the Islamic code, which was put in place by Ayatollah Khomeini in the beginning of 1981. He ordered covering all the parts of the body except the face and wrists.

Some of the women’s husbands tried to stop the arrests, to no avail, running to clothing stores to buy their wives more suitable attire.

The women were detained for several hours and then were forced to sign a statement not to repeat their actions and to follow the Islamic and Iranian culture traditions….

We should take some of the Gitmo prisoners and force them to wear women’s clothing. They must leave only their faces and hands exposed. Now, the NY Times will feature that story on their front page for weeks. But this? Fugeddaboutit.

To point out an error here: the article concerns Ithna-Ashari fiqh and the sects of Shi’a don’t care much for ‘A’isha. Their mother-of-the-mu’minin is Fatima. And the Shi’is are generally ambivalent about Sunni ahadith-collections as a rule (they tend to get cited to support Shi’ism, not to support Shi’ite law).

You’ll want to refer to the Mullahs, here. There’s also the Qur’an itself of course, at 24:30-31.

True enough—but Sunni and Shi’ite dress codes don’t differ much. There’s not a dime’s worth of difference between a Chador and an Abeya.

It’s a good thing the police got to them before they were raped by a group of particularly devout mohammedans. That’s the whole shtick, right? Islam teaches that men are not supposed to control themselves and that if women get raped it’s all their fault.

[1] Ayatollah Khomeini … ordered covering all the parts of the body except the face and wrists.
[2] Muhammad’s saying: “‘When a woman reaches the age of menstruation, it does not suit her that she displays her parts of body except this and this,’ and he pointed to her face and hands.” (Sunan Abu Dawud 4092)
So Khomeini has a stricter dress code than Muhammad (pbuh), who licentiously allows women to expose the backs and palms of their hands. What about a British woman who moves to the Islamic State to join the fighting? Is she allowed, for greater fingertip sensitivity on her Kalashnikov trigger, to cut off the part of her modesty glove that covers tip of her right index finger? Somebody please get in touch with http://islamqa.info/en to get a fatwa ruling on this.

The way I look at it, they choose to live in this screwed up religion. I feel no pity for them. Even less respect for the husbands for not going to jail for beating the shit out of the so called police. If anyone ever touched my wife or tried to tell her what to wear, lets just say they would be realizing that they had the wrong religion for eternity.

If you treat 50% of your population (women) as slaves then there is no hope for your society in terms of progression. Western society has produced Joan of Arc, Florence Nightingale, Mary Wollstonecraft, Jane Austen, JK Rowling, Mother Teresa, Marie Curie etc etc …what muslim country has allowed a woman to flourish to the same extent? None have. To hate women as Islam does is wrong. As Churchill stated, “There is no stronger retrograde force that exists in the world … than Islam.”

Its hard for the men to look at a women, that is why they need them to cover up. They cannot control themselves.

There is nothing wrong in the way those women dressed in that above article. That some Muslim men thought that there was only shows just strange, absurd and ignorant the Muslim male mindset can be. Moreover this Islamic “Republic” of Iran is only half truth in its name. The title is true in the sense this this tyranny is Islam. Nevertheless it’s not a real republic. For a real republic is and means -res publica “the property of the people.” This is one thing that this tyrannical Islamic regime in not. For the mullahs and ayatollahs are the ones who really hold so much power in Iran. They come down very hard on the human rights of the Iranian people through their ruthless gang of thugs who are called “the Republican Guards. To to a cruel and heartless tyranny is this is described in the Bible .Which teaches “All the days of the oppressed are wretched…” Proverbs 15:15. The Bible also teaches “If you see…justice and rights denied do not be surprised at such things.” Ecclesiastes 4:2. Likewise in that same Bible book in 5:8 it also teaches about “the tears of the oppressed…” Furthermore, Proverbs 28:15.may apply to either president Rouhani or Ayatollah Khamenei. For it reads “Like a roaring lion or a charging bare is a wick man ruling over a helpless people.” In short, the vicious dictatorship of those two characters as well as the other ayatollahs and mullahs who are in power in Iran in the many harsh a terrible ways they treat the people of Iran. These Muslim clerics may be described in Proverbs 29:2. “When the wicked rule, the people groan.” [N.I.V.]
