Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Islamic State threatens to kill 2 Japanese hostages unless Tokyo pays $200 million

Jan 20, 2015 1:02 pm By Robert Spencer

ISISJapanThis is precisely in accord with Islamic law. “As for the captives, the amir [ruler] has the choice of taking the most beneficial action of four possibilities: the first to put them to death by cutting their necks; the second, to enslave them and apply the laws of slavery regarding their sale and manumission; the third, to ransom them in exchange for goods or prisoners; and fourth, to show favor to them and pardon them. Allah, may he be exalted, says, ‘When you encounter those [infidels] who deny the Truth [Islam] then strike [their] necks’ (Qur’an sura 47, verse 4)” — Al-Mawardi, al-Ahkam as-Sultaniyyah (The Laws of Islamic Governance).

“ISIS threatens to kill 2 Japanese hostages unless Tokyo pays $200 million,” by Jethro Mullen and Greg Botelho, CNN, January 20, 2015 (thanks to Pamela Geller):

(CNN)Two Japanese hostages, one demand from ISIS: Hand over $200 million, or else.

The else being that the pair will meet the same gruesome fate as other captives held by the terrorist group, others who were shown in ISIS videos kneeling in orange jumpsuits in front of masked, black-clad men — just like the Japanese hostages identified as Kenji Goto Jogo and Haruna Yukawa — shortly before being beheaded.

In the latest video, a masked man gives the Japanese government a choice to pay $200 million — the same amount of money Prime Minister Shinzo Abe recently pledged for those “contending” with ISIS — to free the Japanese men. That deal holds for 72 hours, which would seem to mean sometime Friday, since the video appeared on social media Tuesday.

Another move that theoretically could change things would be if Japan’s government halts its alliance with those fighting ISIS, which calls itself the Islamic State. Tokyo hasn’t participated in airstrikes aimed at the Islamist extremist group, though its leaders have supported those who have, as well as the Iraqi government.

“Although you are more than 8,500 kilometers away from the Islamic State, you willingly volunteered to take part in this crusade,” the masked man on the video posted Tuesday says, addressing his comments to Abe.

But Abe, who is currently visiting the Middle East, didn’t seem about to bargain Tuesday.

He stood by a pledge, made in a speech Sunday in Cairo, for funding to help build “human capacities, infrastructure and so on” for those affected by ISIS’ armed campaign.

“The pledge aid is very important to the refugees in need and has nothing to do with the Islamic communities or the radical militants,” the Prime Minister said. “… We will contribute to the (region’s) peace and stability, in cooperation with the global community.”

As to the ISIS threat against two of his nation’s citizens, Abe called it “unacceptable.”

“I feel angry about it,” he said. “I strongly urge them to immediately release the hostages without harming them.”…

Abe sounds Lincolnesque. It is magnificent to see someone not cowering before these savages — especially after so many Western governments have essentially financed the jihad by means of ransom payments.

That’s so sad. 🙁 I feel sad for these two aid workers and their families. If I ask the question, when will this madness end? I know the answer will be never.

      @ katnis

      They aren’t ‘aid workers’.

One is a Japanese freelance journalist and the other is a Japanese military trainer.

As for the ‘aid workers’ previously slaughtered by ISIS, it serves them damn right for helping religiously and culturally bigoted muslims in the first place!

As for France and Italy who have paid millions in ransom money, and also continue to allow 1000’s of islamic immigrants into Europe en mass, f**k ’em too, dhimmi ba*t*rds!

Nobody in their right minds should go there unless they’re completely tooled up and know how to kill in a hundred different ways. They need to be able to fit in and use a variety of weapons, and be ultra-streetwise and trust nobody.

Excellent idea. Funding them by giving them money will only encourage them to continue kidnapping innocent people for money. If it works they will do it again. Just as they found out violence works when no one fights them back. Surely leaders should know this. They are not dealing with ethical people here. You don’t give in to demands and expect more demands won’t be made. I am beginning to wonder if all these supposed leaders of our countries are without any logical reasoning ability.
They need to go in by force and take these guys down and free the prisoners. Alternatively they can counter by NOT immigrating any more people from these countries, or deporting all known sympathizers of this ideology.
These guys may very well get killed anyway. These jihadists are not known for their honesty are they? They killed that guy that converted to Islam to try and save himself. They beheaded him without any thought at all.

I wonder if the ISIS nutjobs realize that the scene looks like one from some samurai movie with a ninja threatening the warlord of some fortress. Not to make light of the situation, but beheadings on the spot were a Japanese tradition back in the day. If those retards at ISIS think that the Japanese will cower and flinch and give them any money at all, they are hopelessly misguided. About as stoic and stubborn a people you will find on the planet, it took a couple of nuclear weapons to get them to roll over and surrender the last time they were in a war.

      Nicu

      you are Japanese, it seems.

I hope you are telling the authorities in your homeland everything that you have learned in Europe from observing the atrocious conduct of the Muslim colonists/ invaders/ occupiers there, and that you are also passing on to your govenrment, to your family, your friends back home in Japan, everything you have learned here at jihadwatch. Warn them.

Tell them that the only language Islam understands or has ever understood is that of superior force, swiftly and unhesitatingly deployed.

And tell them that Japan – which if I understand correctly has as yet a very small Muslim presence and so far has not admitted many Muslims inside the gates – must maintain its (relatively) Muslim-free status at all costs. **Keep Islam and Muslims OUT of Japan**.

Got Muslims? – Got Jihad. Sooner or later. And the more Muslims, the more Jihad, the sooner. Every country that has let in a lot of Muslims is finding that out, right now. My own country, Australia, among them.

If Japan needs more immigrants due to its low birth rate, it can bring in Filipino and Filipina Christians and Burmese Buddhists, who won’t threaten the Japanese culture, and who are law-abiding and respectful of Japanese culture for the most part.

This exposes the futility in all its glory of becoming an aid worker in Muslim lands. No good deed by an infidel there ever goes unpunished. This is Islam in action. If this poisonous and murderous cult didn’t exist, the world would be a far better place to live in. Those politically correct morons in the West who defend Islam as ‘a religion of peace’ have so much blood dripping from their hands.

Leaders who had (and still have) the power to annihilate ISIS in its early stages and refused to do so, have a lot of innocent blood all over their hands.
Abe delivered his speech from Cairo. I hope he is as serious as al-Sisi in this fight against these Islamic vermins.
    Never submit and never negotiate.

They certainly do by the tankerload. Weak leadership and moral cowardice amongst Westerners courtesy of political correctness, self loathing and moral relativism has been the bane of the West throughout the last 14 years since 911 and you could say since the Iran hostage crisis of 1979. They think we’re weak and we’ve given them every reason to think so.

I feel sorry for the prisoners, and I hope that the Japanese government doesn’t cave to the terrorists’ demands.

If it were me, I’d prefer my government to spend a large amount of euros on a rescue mission than paying 1 cent to ransom me. Even though I loathe the current government I wouldn’t hold it against them if they simply let me there to die – paraphrasing Robert Harper “millions for defence, not a cent for ransom”.

Having lived and worked in Japan for 15 years, I have some insight into the psyche of the Japanese, and I’m sorry to say that the Japanese government WILL LIKELY pay the ransom. I hope I am wrong. While I don’t wish to see any harm come to these two individuals, I tend to agree with previous posters who said that they shouldn’t have been there in the first place, however noble their intentions. May the West finally grow some balls (like Prime Minister Stephen Harper) and put some boots on the ground and destroy these cowardly bastards!

        Jan 20, 2015 at 10:43 pm

Unfortunately for Japan, you are wrong. Muslims were allowed to come in visa free in large numbers in the 80s and early 90s (particularly from Iran) to help with the booming construction industry. Not sure of their numbers now, but any is one too many. Sadly, the Japanese take their marching orders from Obama and have even smaller balls. I would happily be proven wrong, though. Time will tell. The clock is ticking for these poor souls.

I feel for these prisoners. Imagine being in their shoes now.
The only reason we should be there is to save the non Muslim people and leave the rest to rot in their sh!t holes.
Then we get rid of all the Muslim “refugees” to make room for the non Muslim genuine refugees. We also deport any Muslim “refugee” who hasn’t taken our citizenship yet and firmly close the door to them for ever. No more Islamic migrants under any circumstances.
