New York Daily News pixelates Muhammad cartoon in story about Charlie Hebdo jihad massacre

Do they think that if they adopt Sharia blasphemy laws forbidding mockery or criticism of Muhammad, that they will avoid the jihad onslaught? And if they adopt Sharia restrictions on freedom of expression of their own accord, does it even matter if they are spared?

The free press is dying of a self-inflicted wound. Now is the time for every newspaper in the world to republish Charlie Hebdo’s cartoons of Muhammad, in solidarity with the jihad murder victims and as a show of defiance — a signal that we will protect free speech and free societies.

But this will not happen. Instead, watch for more pusillanimity, more temporizing, more denial that this had anything to do with Islam, and more calls for “respect” for “religious sensibilities” — i.e., the placement of Islam in a protected category, above criticism.

  14. Watched several British TV reporters relaying on the scene reports from the site of the Paris Murders.
    The apologising for the Muslims has already started. Comments about the aggressive portraying of Islam and the ” prophet” Mohammed by the staff of Charlie Hebdo and their attacking ” religious sensibilities”.
    One reporter openly stated that the French Government would have to start thinking about reigning in the activities of satirical magazines.

    • The more the media kowtows and the more the establishment does, this will simply encourage more jihadist attacks, since the jihadists will realize terrorism actually does work. By appeasing them, they simply invite more jihadist attacks.

  17. Obama chided Sony for caving in to North Korea’s terrorist threats and pulling a movie out of theaters (“The Interview”). Do you suppose that Obama will chide newspapers for hiding the supposed derogatory cartoons from the public? What’s the difference?

    The difference is, the threat from Islam is real and the threat from North Korea is not taken seriously. So we are asked to surrender our freedoms to the real threat and celebrate them against imaginary ones.

  18. We criticize the crusades, but NOW we why the European Christians fought off the muslim invasion of Europe until Sept 11 1683. Islam allows this to be spread and to conquer by fear. I know many Christians ready to give up their lives to defend the innocent against these barbarians. The time is coming very close when we will have to chose to defend or be murdered by these demons.

It is beyond my comprehention that in the 21st century with the mass of knowlege presented that anyone could for one moment believe in any sort of GOD! be it Zeus, Woddin, Alha, et al, these fairy tales were usefull a thousand years ago for making the general population behave themselves and do what they were told and pay the money grubbing “religious” leaders their hard earned money but that was the dark ages, most of us have moved on from that, even the wicked Catholic church has made some progress, well at least they have stopped burning people at the stake even if they do not seem to mind fiddling with children!
    But what can you do with Muslims? Iv’e read as much of the Koran as I could cope with, talk about a load of old bollocks, it almost makes the Bible believable, well as much as Little Red Riding Hood is.
    The Univers is I am lead to believe 6.5 billion years old and we have been around for a tiny fraction of this time and yet these twats don;t get it, there are more stars in the univers than grains of sand on all the beaches on Earth and yet this God fellow made this one and then buggered off and left us to it
    Yea right! Two thousand years ago people wanted to know what was going on, obviously the Sun revolved around the Earth and the Earth was flat and the stars were little lights in the sky and so we got religion to explain everything, that a God had made it just for us, bollocks but right for the time I suppose, since then we have had the advantage of Gallilao, Newton, Darwin, Einstien, etc (note no Muslims) pity as at one time they lead the world in scientific discovery but their own religion has been corrupted beyond its original structure.
    What do they want? While contributing sweet fuck all to the world and condeming everything about us they seem happy enough to use the tech that we have developt, internet, weapons, mobile phones, cars etc etc.
    I cannot see what they hope to achieve? are you going to convert to Islam? I can’t as an Athiest (It goes against my religion Ha Ha) the poor people, mostly women they have captured have it seems converted to Islam overnight, should that not have taken years of study of the fairy tale book?
    Like the rest of the world I don’t have an answer, I try to be tolerent if some one has what to me is a silly belief in the God fellow although I do enjoy winding up the Jehovas Witnesses when they come knocking, damned if I go to their meetings if they won’t come to Thursday night wife swapping!!
    Seriously though, what do we in the civilised world do about the barbarians at the gate? If it was a few people it might be possible to give them a bit of education, but we are now talking of millions of thick people brainwashed by their money grubbing, land stealing bosses, I have no answer except that at least all true Muslims who follow the true Koran should rise up against those that have corrupted their faith but I see no sign of that happening which is why all Muslims are getting tarred with the same brush, Shame!

      Where’d you get that idea Roger? It’s the truest of Muslims, following the Koran most faithfully, who are the most dangerous.

      Compare IS’s actions with Mohammed’s – crucifixions, amputations, beheadings, stonings, sex-slavery etc – they’re just following the example of the perfect man to the letter.
