Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Paris Mayor says she will sue Fox News over No-Go Zones coverage

Jan 20, 2015 4:16 pm By Robert Spencer

Anne HidalgoAnne Hidalgo sounds here very much like the Islamic supremacists who regularly barbecue cars on Paris streets: Paris has been insulted. Its honor has been impugned. Therefore she wants to take Fox News to court. That would be a very interesting lawsuit: in its defense, Fox could call David Ignatius, who wrote in the New York Times in April 2002: “Arab gangs regularly vandalize synagogues here, the North African suburbs have become no-go zones at night, and the French continue to shrug their shoulders.” Fox could also call Newsweek, which reported in November 2005 that “according to research conducted by the government’s domestic intelligence network, the Renseignements Generaux, French police would not venture without major reinforcements into some 150 ‘no-go zones’ around the country–and that was before the recent wave of riots began on Oct. 27.” The New Republic could also testify in support of Fox, as it wrote just last week: “The word banlieue (‘suburb’) now connotes a no-go zone of high-rise slums, drug-fueled crime, failing schools and poor, largely Muslim immigrants and their angry offspring.”

But now the mainstream media, and Anne Hidalgo, have decided that Fox made up the whole idea of No-Go Zones in France, and Fox is going to have to take the fall. That Fox already took the fall, with its ill-considered apology, makes this legal threat even more absurd. But if the suit does go forward, Fox should request a change of venue — to a banlieue, and invite Mayor Hidalgo to take a walk through it with hair uncovered, at night.

“Paris mayor: We intend to sue Fox News,” by Gregory Wallace and Brian Stelter, CNNMoney, January 20, 2015 (thanks to Ron):

Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo told CNN Tuesday she intends to sue Fox News in the wake of the channel’s coverage of supposed “no-go zones” for non-Muslims.

Hidalgo said the channel had “insulted” her city.

“When we’re insulted, and when we’ve had an image, then I think we’ll have to sue, I think we’ll have to go to court, in order to have these words removed,” Hidalgo told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour. “The image of Paris has been prejudiced, and the honor of Paris has been prejudiced.”

Fox News representatives did not respond to requests for comment, and outside legal analysts largely dismissed the likelihood that a lawsuit would succeed.

Hidalgo’s warning about a lawsuit came after a series of Fox segments suggested there are parts of Paris and other European cities where Islamic law is practiced and where police are fearful to work. The “no-go” zone segments were widely mocked and challenged as inaccurate, particularly by French media outlets.

Some critics have accused the network of using the controversial “no-go zones” idea to perpetuate a fearful narrative about Muslims, particularly in the days since terror attacks in Paris….

Citing the apologies and the embarrassment suffered by Fox, CNN senior legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin said “the system has worked” and “the courts don’t need to get involved here.”…

I hope that you are referring to her Highness, I mean Her Majesty or whatever– the mayor.

      She sounds brain dead.

Just- less then a month after MUSLIMS–IN PARIS STORMED A LITTLE KNOWN PUBLICATION AND KILLED PEOPLE; THEN TOOK HOSTAGES AND KILLED THEM (OR THEY WERE KILLED )’ BEING RESCUED”–IN HER PARIS.

Where the hell was ” FRENCH INTELLIGENCE” (PROBABLY AN OXYMORON) about these savages?

I recall-i think it was new Years Eve Dec 31, 2014–only——-cars burned; less then the year before, so it was considered that ‘ crime was down”.

      Their (French) logic escapes me.

Help me out here, guys. I’m just a little confused…. Didn’t we read the 2,200 page document “Banlieue de la République”? Doesn’t it list numerous Zones Urbaines Sensibles? (dontcha love them euphemisms – why doesn’t English have a penchant for catchy phrases like that?). Didn’t the French Interior Ministry designate Muslim-dominated parts of Amiens, Aubervilliers, Avignon, Béziers, Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand, Grenoble, Lille, Lyon, Marseilles, Montpellier, Mulhouse, Nantes, Nice, Paris, Perpignan, Strasbourg, Toulouse and many others as Priority Security Zones (Zones de Sécurité Prioritaires, or ZSP) in 2012?

If the Fifth Republic really wants to deal with the looming threat of Islamofascism they’d better stop lying to themselves.

How about bringing out all their footage from years ago, showing cars being overturned and burned and the *reasons* being given by the authorities was that the *muslim youth* had no jobs and no hope and were not being assimilated into French society? And the reporters being told that the police and emergency services didn’t feel safe going in to put out fires, help the injured or arrest people.
Surely they can find it in their film archives and it would be proof of the *no-go* or *don’t-want-to-go* or even *we aren’t safe if we go* zones.
Law suits in *cases* like this are just for the money…and maybe she wants to be safe from the muslims who don’t wish to have the truth spoken.

  12. France is finished says

    Jan 20, 2015 at 5:14 pm

There is an exodus of 100,000 Jewish people from France every year and that is mainly due to the hatred from muslim people. Despite making up about 0.2% of the world’s population, Jewish people have 22% of the world’s nobel peace prize winners. ie they are generally high end human capital that add to the productive capabilities of your economy.

Instead, France wants to import millions and millions of low-end human capital (muslims) who are damaged with a pernicious belief system that tells them to despise western culture. They are a huge weight and expense on social security…and before too long France will fall to the infidels. France is finished as a major nation unless the National Front win office. Otherwise, they will be fed the same old lies about Islam.

dude, there are only 600000 jews in france
therefore it is pretty impossible that 100000 jews are leaving france every year.

loosing 1/6 of a religious group, especially jews, would cause a great scandal and start a large scale anti-semitism discussion.
As there are many jews at the top of the big media corporations in the USA and NYT or Wahington Post are owned by jewish people i can not imagine that they will let such a large scale exodus happen without a huge discussion.
Therefore i’m pretty sure your numbers are wrong(10-20k pa are more likely) until you provide a trustfull source.

imo opinion it would even be a bigger scandal if your numbers are correct
and this is ignored by jewish people at the top of the media.Than the reason for this unexplainable silence should be analysed and discussed at the next jewish world congress

        Zebo,

A friend of mine recently ( end of Dec. 2014) returned from a trip to Israel. (He speaks English, French & Hebrew). he told me that THERE HAVE BEEN 5,000 TO 6,000 FRENCH JEWS ARRIVING-TO STAY, monthly. That is about 60,000 to 72,000 annually.

And those are the figures that he got speaking to people in all 3 languages. In the major cities.

As to NYT, etc- NYT is a public co., the Ochs and Salzbergs control it, ( they are the same family-one married into the other) and they are Jew hating Jews. Have ben for generations and decades.

They would print anything detrimental to Jews and Israel-sort of, hoping that they get killed last.

          Jan 20, 2015 at 7:48 pm

          Thx oli,

your comment seem to confirm my theory as those 6000-7000 jews are coming from all around the world(which is nothing special considering that 40mio jews + live all around the world and israel seems to be
and not the 8.500 per month(=100000 per year) just from france as posted above.

I’m pretty sure the number was lower before the muslim show in europe started and has doubled and may again double in the next few years when islam tolerance and peace is accelerating
          .

I’m also aware that there is the same left/right bullshit among jews that is eroding the community from within as it is among christians
          BUT
that does not really answer my question.
          Yes-there are jews hatin jews
          just like christians hating christians
          and mislims hating muslims
          BUT
it is impossible that all those Jews are hating jews and are pro-islam.

There are far more than a 100 jews in the USA either in top positions of media or editors or top journalisty and it is absolutely impossible that ALL of them hate israel and jews as many of them have a dual citizenship

Considering that the funeral of extreme right wing Rabbi Yosef Ovadia was attended by 850000 people(= 1/7 of israels jewish population)
the number of very conservative jewish people shouldn’t be lower than the number of the liberal jews
therefore i guess that a minimum of 1/3 of jews in media business do not support the left wing point of view.

It is absolutely necessary to find out why they don’t say a word in the media.
I can not imagine that Pamela Geller and Bill Maher(who is leftwing but independent thinker who hasn’t thrown away integrity) are the only two left.
There are dozens more and there is a reason why they keep quiet.

          Zebo,

As to your post, responding to mine ( this one).
i do not recall the name- the man is a left wing (Jewish) journalist, who publishes a left wing magazine. He is also an ardent Zionist.

About 4 or 5 years ago, he DARED to criiicize THE GREAT ONE, WHO KNOWS ALL, and Islamists. IN PRINT. IN HIS MAGAZINE. The hatred that spewed (in places like yahoo/AP/Reuters against this man -FOR EXERCISING HIS 1ST AMENDMENT RIGHTS was appalling.

The people threatening to cancel their subscriptions (I doubt that 90% of them had ever even heard of his magazine, let alone read it, or subscribed to ti. I read it-on ioccasion-in high school-in the `1960’s. I think hsi father-in-law was the publuisher then).

That (as but one example) why more Jewish newscasters (unless prominent or independently wealthy) keep quiet.

but saying the truth about Paris is insulting the honor of Paris(did not even know that citys have honor and can feel insulted but me thinks this is just an excuse to protect islam and prevent the word no-go-zone go mainstream and/or turn it into a forbidden taboo word)

But i think it is easy to prove wether she is right or wrong. If she has a blond beautyful daughter.Put her in a skirt, install her a hidden micro and drive her into a no-go -zone and force her to stay there for 10 hours without protection .Than just watch her and record what the muslims are saying to her – i guess she’d get a nervous breakdown and maybe she’ll get the same treatment female reporters got in egypt when peaceful muslim protesters gang raped lara logan and the dutch reporter etc.

    -Joan of Arc

She is easily and by far the most extraordinary person the human race has ever produced.
-Samuel Clemens (aka Mark Twain) on Joan of Arc

Do a web search for some quotes by Samuel Clemens (or Mark Twain) regarding France and you will find some things that Mayor Anne Hidalgo would definitely find insulting. The man did not have a very high opinion of France but for some reason he loved Joan of Arc. He considered his book about her called “Personal Recollections of Joan of Arc” to be the one book he considered to be his best and the one which he enjoyed writing the most. People consider Clemens to have been an atheist but it’s strange to me how much he seemed to love Joan of Arc. Similarly, it’s also strange to me the manner in which God used a young girl to help create the country of France. Why? I think the answer to that question is yet to be revealed. Let the truth be tested by the fire.

There are drug dealers, petty criminals etc. and at night it’s more dangerous than the day….just like in any major city. The bad guys are sometimes ethnic arabs, sometimes africans and sometimes other ethnic groups. This quote by Cicero used to remind me most of our Universities’ professors but it applies more and more to the leadership and “intelligentsia” of Europe as I hear them speak and see their actions in the face of Islam’s encroachments and depredations.

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.”

What the mayor really means is Paris might suffer a loss of tourist income as a result of Fox’s error.

To undo the damage, Fox News should run continuous stories on the pleasures of visiting Paris for romantic nights of singing kumbaya around the many carbeques, or how much excitement there is in dodging the peaceful jihadi bullets that flit about like butterflies, or the intellectual rewards to be gained while sipping a beer with a peaceful group of knife-wielding jihadis on a street corner in one of the many islamic peace parks (formerly called no-go zones).

People are becoming very aware of what these countries are harboring in their suburbs and do NOT want to visit because of it. If they want to keep their tourists coming, they need to enforce their laws in ALL their cities and suburbs. Then tourists will feel safe going to visit. This French PM is nuts if she thinks people will ignore the facts just because she wants to lie about them. There is no way she would go into these places “as is”. She knows damn well laws aren’t being enforced. WAKE UP POLITICIANS! You don’t give in to gangs, you take them DOWN!

The French penal code has some interesting provisions.

For example: Article 411-2 prohibits “handing over…all or part of the national territory, to a foreign power, to a foreign organisation or to an organisation under foreign control or to their agents.”

I’m surprised there has been no noise about bringing charges against politicians and / or other actors for allowing these no-go zones to become established.

Some years back, a South east–IE ( Miami/Ft Lauderdale, FL) business paper ( ads about estates, etc. no real news) investigated Snopes.

(Now this was some 5 or perhaps a little more years ago; situation might have changed–but I still put no faith in them)– it was a husband and wife, who used a few encyclopedias, almanacs and some other reference books. Sometimes they had a college student or two to help them.

They had no training in journalism (nor do most journalists, these days) ; law; or any training in anything related to investigating issues/matters, etc.

Their big point- they did it for free.

This woman is not just infected with Socialists stupidity, she is also deeply affected with green madness too. When there was a security alert going on there was a bit of air particle pollution so she demanded that Paris apply the alternative number plate restriction of car usage, which requires a lot of police to enforce, the Interior minister over ruled her and her greenies because of the security alert, and she and her green allies whined for weeks over it. It was pathetic!!!

At the moment BFMTV is running a story about Fox as if its not true, they are also reporting the Chechians as being Russian and saying no religious link, which was amusing when France Inter (very left wing) defined them as Chechians and talked about the explosives they had. But then it gets surreal, because BFMTV then runs a story about a baker who was selling ham sandwiches in a mainly Muslims area, he being a Muslim who was threatened by 3 Sharia police for selling those sandwiches, the three people are now in court for this. I am not sure if that was in a suburb of Paris or not.

I really have to laugh, Fox News over stated it in my opinion, which I detailed in an earlier post, however they do exist and while their apology is very nuanced in my opinion they would have been better clarifying it rather than apologising.

  47. Xero_G says

    Jan 21, 2015 at 2:09 am

Isn’t there a French government web site that lists 330 no-go areas across the country? Are any located within Paris? I rest my case.

      Jan 21, 2015 at 3:07 am

      http://sig.ville.gouv.fr/atlas/ZUS/ search using this:

      zone urbaine sensible

Over 700 by the way and yes there are a number in Paris, to be honest that stupid woman would be laughed out of court in any sensible country, however in France as the magistrates are mainly left wing loonies and it is a against the American right she might well win.

I keep getting the impression that the media is being forced to downplay everything, but I was amused to see BFMTV report on a criminal case where a Muslim baker who was threatened by Sharia police for selling ham sandwiches is currently being judged, they ran that not long after doing a piece on Fox, its almost like this is the hooohah and then we have the reality, I wonder if they did that to make people read between the lines, because as we know in terms of the media its more often what they don’t say rather than what they say.

I think Fox were wrong to over-state it like they did, what they should have done was clarify. The issue is that often when you speak to like minded people you start creating a circle of talking it up, sadly it damages us by allowing people to treat it as a joke when the reality is that there are some of those zones which are as Fox described them.

The reality of these zones is that they are areas where the police and other services have to be careful when going there, they are mainly where Muslim drug linked criminals and delinquents have a sort of gang related control, there are a few where it is viewed by the locals as a Muslim area, the one in Roubiax is the most evident, Nord(59) and important and that is where a Muslim leader said to local council officials that this was a Muslim area and they had no control. I have been in a few of them myself and during the day they are a bit uncomfortable, I certainly would not go willingly there during the evening,

      Hope this helps.

Why have Muslims created No-Go Zones where non-believers are unwelcome?

    Koran verses:
3:28 Let not the believers take disbelievers for their friends in preference to believers.
3:118 Take not for friends, other than Muslims as they will spare no pains to ruin you.
4:144 Choose not disbelievers for (your) friends in place of believers.
5:51. Don’t take Jews or Christians for friends. If you do, then Allah will consider you to be one of them.
60:13. Don’t be friends with those who disbelieve in the Hereafter. They are Allah’s enemies.

Allah instructs mankind to not socialize/mix with non-Muslims. No-Go Zones are perfectly in sync with that mindset.

Koran: 98:6 Those who disbelieve (…) are the worst of created beings.

Why would I want to live along-side of “the worst of created beings”? I would prefer that my community keep them out.

This is pointless scaremongering. Have you actually been to Paris? Has anyone commenting here actually been to Paris? I live in Paris and the supposed no-go zones from the Fox report were ridiculous. There are no no-go zones inside Paris. There are some banlieus, particularly to the north, that have large immigrant populations, that have suffered from riots and that have social problems, but white people live there too. There are some cites that are almost no-go zones for the police due to violent gun crime (nothing to do with jihadi Islamism) but they still go there when they really have to. There are high-rise apartment blocks I wouldn’t want to live in, there are banlieus I wouldn’t want to live in, but this scaremongering is highly inaccurate.

She is trying to protect the honor of the muslimes by trying to shut up who tells the truth about them being violent, since islam is a religion of peace…It’s a well known fact tha Paris and France, and other areas in Europe have what they call “banlieux” that have been taken by the muslimes and no infidel dares to go in. Its a digrace that the appeasers/ cowards in the French government have allowed the situation to get to this extreme. When Brigitte Bardott complained about the muslime invasion, the way they were destroying the French culture and cities, and the abuse of animals , she was threatened with jail for hate speech and was fined.
Too bad it’s always the people on the street who suffer the consequences of the decisions of these buy outs dhimmies. The people on the street are not protected, but the politicians do not mingle with the public and live behind gated fortified communities, have armed guards , fly on private jets, and have bullet proof cars. When their friends the muslimes start attacking them directly they’ll sing a different tune. I hope this woman is hu, iliated by Fox News with FACTS.

If only somebody here (Robert Spencer listening in perhaps?) had contacts with Fox and could sell them on the idea of doing a serious undercover investigative reporting mini-series. Recruit some liberals in denial (professional actors would be ideal). Have them to go into at least score of known No-Go zones each in France & the UK while being tailed & recorded by hidden cameras & mics. Let them dress like regular “infidels” baring a little too much or drink in public or act like flamboyant homosexuals. Then let’s see what happens; let the whole world see what happens! Of course, contract for secrecy until the show is ready to debut. The post-experience interviews should be every bit as compelling as the video footage–i.e., should any of the actors survive! [P.S., To avoid excessive injuries and lawsuits, have some officers from sympathetic police departments ready to jump out of the tailing van intervene]
