Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Turkey’s Erdogan to EU: Time to crack down on “Islamophobia”

Jan 6, 2015 6:24 pm By Robert Spencer

Erdogan3Erdogan has never called upon Muslim countries to crack down on jihad terror. Nor does he distinguish “Islamophobia” as attacks on innocent Muslims, which are never justified, from “Islamophobia” as honest examination of how jihadists use the texts and teachings of Islam to justify violence and supremacism. The conflation of those two distinct things by “Islamophobia”-mongers has been deliberate: by exploiting concern for the former, they hope to stigmatize the latter, so that the jihad advances unimpeded.

“Time to crack down on ‘Islamophobia’, Turkey’s Erdogan tells EU,” by Fulya Ozerkan, AFP, January 6, 2015:

ANKARA (AFP) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday warned the European Union it should crack down on “Islamophobia” amid rising anti-Muslim protests instead of trying to teach Turkey lessons about democracy.

Erdogan told Turkey’s ambassadors posted abroad in a speech in Ankara that they should pursue an assertive foreign policy to represent strong and self-confident “new Turkey” under his rule.

In a new attack on the EU, Erdogan called on the 28-member bloc to “revisit its Turkey policy”, accusing Europe of dragging its feet on Ankara’s decade-old membership bid.

“Believe me it is regrettable that the EU is trying teach a lesson to Turkey instead of trying to tackle very serious threats it is facing,” he said.

Erdogan said racist, discriminatory activities and Islamophobia were on the rise in Europe, complaining that racist organisations won sympathy in some Western societies with “each passing day”.

“The Islamophobia — which we constantly draw attention to and warn of — represents a serious threat in Europe.”

“If the issue is not dealt with seriously today, and if populism takes European politicians captive, the EU and European values will come into question,” he said.

His comments came a day after controversial German group PEGIDA rallied thousands of people in Dresden for a demonstration against what it calls the “Islamisation of the Occident”….

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday warned the European Union it should crack down on “Islamophobia” amid rising anti-Muslim protests instead of trying to teach Turkey lessons about democracy.

So he took a break from persecuting cartoonists (which seems to be the turkish equivalent of Obama’s rounds of golf) to tell us that we don’t get to tell him to adopt our principles, even though Turkey is pushing for EU membership, and that instead we should adopt his principles and make sure muslims are a protected class.

I’d love to laugh it off and say the wannabe sultan’s attitude will cost him the EU membership, but I believe our “darling leaders” will simply shrug it off with the bigotry of low expectations: “turks will be turks, he’ll change his mind when he join us and see how good we have it here, blah, blah, blah, there’s the jizya, here’s my neck, slap it harder big boy”.

It would be a disaster for Europe if Turkey was admitted to the EU. The problem with Islamist leaders such as Erdogan is they want all the benefits that a modern civilised West has too offer while keeping all their medieval and backward customs. Turkey is a lovely country but many of the best things about it are what the Greeks built or introduced.

It’s not Islamophobia, it’s the realization that Islam and the Western social philosophy of Multiculturalism doesn’t work. Many don’t see it for what it is, because it is in our nature as human beings to affirm what we know, through what Charles Sanders Peirce (1839-1914) dubbed as the “Method of Tenacity”.

In the west we have come to believe, as a culture, that all people are created equal, each person is a sovereign with the right to self determination in regards to expression and belief. It is through this concept of people being equal, that we falsely extrapolate that cultures and ideas as equals as well. This ideal of equality and freedom from our perspective can be culturally adapted in some cross cultural exchanges, there is no black and white for sure, but as a social philosophy Multicultualism is flawed through Pierces Method of Tenacity, which states that people tend to be absolutists when it comes to larger cultural paradigms.

Multiculturalism and the equality of all human beings is linked for us culturally. Some minds are more flexible, and are able to add data to the paradigm in order to change perspectives, others are more ridged. It’s this “Method of Tenacity” which we are up against in the West, Muslims instinctively see this fallacy of thought and exploit it.

So psychopath Erdogan thinks the EU is teaching him a lesson for not allowing his fleabag nation (turkey) to join. Turks have murdered millions of Christians for living in their own lands in just this last century. In 1973 they invaded and annexed almost half of the free nation of Cyprus, murdering thousands of men women and children. The only minority that is still left alive in their country (muslim Kurds) are in the process of being exterminated.
What’s ironic, Greece, the cradle of European culture, will most likely be removed from the EU with Angela Merkels blessing, and Turkey, which has made war on Europe for centuries, will probably be allowed full EU membership. It makes me vomit.

      • Islamadouche says

        Jan 7, 2015 at 9:31 am

You are incorrect on each account Brian. There were no Greek military at all in Cyprus before or during this Turk invasion, if the mainland Greeks were there it would have precipitated a war with Turkey immediately. Cyprus was over 80% Greek and wanted union with Greece, which went to vote and the nation overwhelming agreed to. Of course the Turks living there wanted nothing of this and a low level civil war broke out and it was precisely what Turkey wanted for an excuse to invade. You’re correct on one thing but for the wrong reason, the U.S. gave its blessing to the invasion because the Turk government allowed the U.S. to build a huge military air base smack in the middle of the occupied nation which the the Cypriots never would have allowed. The USA has always kissed Turk ass.

If Islam appeals to certain racial groups then it must be a racist ideology.

  15. He needs a Turkish history lesson says

    Jan 7, 2015 at 1:28 am

Intrinsic within his comments is a belief that Turkey is a muslim country. In fact, it is only muslim because it was invaded by Arabs. For well over 1000 years, Turkish people were predominately Christian in Constantinople, that is year after year, decade after decade.
The Turks received Christianity without warfare, they weren’t attacked to have Christianity in their country . The reason why their country is predominately muslim now is that they were invaded and conquered by Muslim Arabs…so in fact it is the religion of an Arab goat trader that they have in their country – not their own Turkish religion established under free will.
Much of the New Testament letters focus on Turkey. None of the Islamic message mentions Turkey. They were subjugated and now express that subjugation by supporting this religion of which they were subjugated. Lackeys.

      Jan 8, 2015 at 1:24 am

You need to do a little more research yourself, “Turk history buff”.
Present day Turks are interlopers in a country that was never theirs. It’s was home for Armenians, Greeks and Assyrians for over four thousand years. Turks entered Asia Minor ( present day Turkey ) as muslim invaders who for centuries enslaved or murdered the original inhabitants. Asia Minor was ruled by Byzantium from around 436 to 1453 when Constantinople was sacked by Ottoman Turks. Arab muslims attacked the Byzantine empire for centuries but could never conquer it, in fact the Byzantines laid waste to Arab caliphates on a regular basis. The 4th Crusade did more damage to Christian Byzantium then the Arab assaults. When that Crusade sacked Constantinople the empire never fully recovered allowing Turks at Manzikert in 1071 to win a pivotal battle that forced the Byzantines to vacate most of Asia Minor and allowed Turks to hold on to this day. Turks used its conquered people to fill the ranks of the military who were then used to destroy one nation after another.

Byzantium was an empire brought together by mutual trade, farming and manufacturing.
The Ottoman Empire (present day Turkey) was held together by conquest, pillage, and slavery.

you are 200% correct. It infuriates me when Islamic apologists talk about western imperialism when the Arabs and the Turks are the greatest imperialists ever. They only prosper through conquest theft and slavery. As soon as the next set of dhimmis are bleed dry they either conquer and steal the resources of new peoples or they go into decline. To this day the Arabs have no industry, they manufacture nothing. The Turks gave a little more industry but only because of Europe’s assistance. Why the western powers did not take more from the Turks after the war is beyond me. They should have been forced to make many more concessions. Even up to 1955 there were pogroms against Greek Christians in Istanbul. elderly priests circumcised in the streets with pocket knives. Sick shit, in 1955. They are as barbaric as ever. Even now they occupy Cypress and yet all we hear about is Palestine.

        • Islamsuks says

          Jan 8, 2015 at 7:46 pm

Andrew at the end of WWI and WWII the Western powers kept Turkey intact as a bulwark, first against Russia and the Czar and then with the Soviet Union and the communists. It was a wretched policy for containment, it allowed the Turks to continue and even increase the slaughter of their own Christian (Armenians, Greeks and Assyrians) population. Britain and the USA did nothing to prevent the genocide.

Look how the U.S. and NATO destroyed Serbia during its own civil war against the Kosovo Liberation Army (muslim terrorists) in Bosnia and Kosovo. Now Kosovo is a bastion for muslim terrorists and the few Serbian Orthodox Christians left there are slowly being destroyed.
It’s a foreign policy catastrophe that has allowed islam to spread like a disease throughout Europe.
To bad that we have had so many self serving cowards in top government positions. It’s changed the world for the worse.

I agree and said so at the time Just because a bunch of Albanian Muslims move into your territory and multiply doesn’t make it their country. And now they are burning churches and Monasteries Kosovo is a mess. I remember the media at the time of the war against Serbia there was never a mention of Muslim atrocities against Serbs. The Serbs weren’t sitting around waiting for the Muslims to get the upper hand. It was a very one sided affair. If Europe wasn’t going to do anything about it what business was it of the US.

Egypt’s Sisi: Islamic “Thinking” Is “Antagonizing the Entire World”
By Raymond Ibrahim on January 1, 2015 in From The Arab World, Islam
    Print Friendly

Speaking before Al-Azhar and the Awqaf Ministry on New Year’s Day, 2015, and in connection to Prophet Muhammad’s upcoming birthday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, a vocal supporter for a renewed vision of Islam, made what must be his most forceful and impassioned plea to date on the subject.

Sisi during his New Year’s Day speech before Al Azhar

Among other things, Sisi said that the “corpus of [Islamic] texts and ideas that we have sacralized over the years” are “antagonizing the entire world”; that it is not “possible that 1.6 billion people [reference to the world’s Muslims] should want to kill the rest of the world’s inhabitants—that is 7 billion—so that they themselves may live”; and that Egypt (or the Islamic world in its entirety) “is being torn, it is being destroyed, it is being lost—and it is being lost by our own hands.”

The relevant excerpt from Sisi’s speech follows (translation by Michele Antaki):

I am referring here to the religious clerics. We have to think hard about what we are facing—and I have, in fact, addressed this topic a couple of times before. It’s inconceivable that the thinking that we hold most sacred should cause the entire umma [Islamic world] to be a source of anxiety, danger, killing and destruction for the rest of the world. Impossible!

That thinking—I am not saying “religion” but “thinking”—that corpus of texts and ideas that we have sacralized over the centuries, to the point that departing from them has become almost impossible, is antagonizing the entire world. It’s antagonizing the entire world!

Is it possible that 1.6 billion people [Muslims] should want to kill the rest of the world’s inhabitants—that is 7 billion—so that they themselves may live? Impossible!

I am saying these words here at Al Azhar, before this assembly of scholars and ulema—Allah Almighty be witness to your truth on Judgment Day concerning that which I’m talking about now.

All this that I am telling you, you cannot feel it if you remain trapped within this mindset. You need to step outside of yourselves to be able to observe it and reflect on it from a more enlightened perspective.

I say and repeat again that we are in need of a religious revolution. You, imams, are responsible before Allah. The entire world, I say it again, the entire world is waiting for your next move… because this umma is being torn, it is being destroyed, it is being lost—and it is being lost by our own hands.

Note: It is unclear if in the last instance of umma Sisi is referring to Egypt (“the nation”) or if he is using it in the pan-Islamic sense as he did initially to refer to the entire Islamic world.

Islamic murderers come in all colours from many nations, as for Erdogan and the Turks they should admit and pay restoration to the Armenians and Assyrians whose ancestors they murdered in their 20th century holocaust, Turkish soldiers boasted of raping Christian babies to death and Erdogan complains of Islamophobia, this is all some sick joke but Hilary Clinton and her cronies ( Ben Afflicted ) will still tell us of the religion of peace.
