Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

UK plea to imams to fight “extremism” draws charge of “Islamophobia”

Jan 19, 2015 1:27 pm By Robert Spencer

David-Cameron-001It is painfully obvious that all too many Muslims in the United Kingdom believe that Islam has nothing to do with “British identity.” They have no interest in “British identity.” They consider themselves part of the umma, the worldwide Muslim community, and that is the only earthly entity to which they owe allegiance. This has led to hundreds, maybe even over a thousand, Muslims from Britain traveling to Iraq and Syria to wage jihad for the Islamic State, and some Muslims in Britain to declare that they would eventually conquer and Islamize the Sceptered Isle as well.

In an effort to stop all this, the clueless and abject Cameron government begged imams to reinforce the sense of British identity among Muslims in Britain. But instead of cooperating, as one would expect from loyal British subjects who were just as appalled as David Cameron is at how their peaceful religion was being twisted and hijacked, “Muslim groups said the letter unfairly singled them out.”

Oh really? Well, when a thousand British Anglicans or Jews or Hindus travel overseas to join a terror group, or start calling for the conquest and subjugation of Britain, then these Muslim groups might have a point. Until then, this is just more of what we see so often from Islamic supremacists: claims that any and all counter-terror measures are “Islamophobic.” Tahla Ahmad of the Muslim Council of Britain declared: “The letter has all the hallmarks of very poor judgment which feeds into an Islamophobic narrative, which feeds into a narrative of us and them.” If all the “Islamophobic” counter-terror measures were removed, the jihad could advance unimpeded and unopposed. And that’s the objective. But Cameron, as ridiculous as ever, doesn’t see that.

“UK plea to imams to fight extremism draws charge of Islamophobia,” Reuters, January 19, 2015 (thanks to Pamela Geller):

Muslim groups accused the British government of copying the language of the far right on Monday and of stoking Islamophobia after ministers wrote to imams asking them to explain to Muslims how Islam is compatible with being British.

In a letter to over 1,000 imams last Friday, Eric Pickles, the minister for local government and communities, asked them to explain to Muslims how Islam can be “part of British identity”, arguing they had a duty to do more to fight extremism and root out anyone preaching hatred. Muslim groups said the letter unfairly singled them out.

“The letter has all the hallmarks of very poor judgment which feeds into an Islamophobic narrative, which feeds into a narrative of us and them,” Tahla Ahmad of the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) told Sky News.

The row, which underscores tensions between the government and Muslims, comes as security forces warn an attack on Britain by Islamist militants is highly likely. Jews and Muslims say they are fearful, for different reasons, after the Charlie Hebdo shootings in Paris. Harun Khan, deputy secretary general of the MCB, said his organisation would be writing to the government to complain.

“Is Mr Pickles seriously suggesting, as do members of the far right, that Muslims and Islam are inherently apart from British society?,” said Khan. Mohammed Shafiq, chief executive of the Ramadhan Foundation, said the letter was patronising, factually incorrect, and “typical of the Government only looking at Muslims through the prism of terrorism and security.”

Britain’s 2.8 million Muslims have been mostly praised by politicians for peacefully condemning the Paris shootings, though Sajid Javid, the most senior Muslim in government, has said Muslims have “a special burden” to track down extremists.

In the letter, Pickles said imams needed to help the government do something it couldn’t achieve on its own. “You have a precious opportunity, and an important responsibility: in explaining and demonstrating how faith in Islam can be part of British identity,” the letter read.

“We must show our young people, who may be targeted, that extremists have nothing to offer them … show them these men of hate have no place in our mosques or any place of worship.” Prime Minister David Cameron defended the letter, saying he agreed with its message. “Anyone frankly reading this letter who has a problem with it, I think really has a problem,” he said. “I think it’s the most reasonable, sensible, moderate letter that Eric could possibly have written.”

It is a belonging to ideals which bring Muslims together in an eternal brotherhood lock which transcends all other consideration of allegiance or loyalties or barriers of nationhood, ethnicity, geography or language.”

In spite of the cluelessness of politicians, I think that a lot of people in the UK have got Islam’s number. They are not idiots, and can see what is going on. They can distinguish between peaceful law-abiding Muslims and what Islam teaches, and can accept the former while rejecting the latter.

That reaction is a massive own goal, their arrogance is getting to stupid levels,

The reaction by imbecile Cameron is interesting, in that they have rubbed it in his nose and he cannot believe that they are so stupid.

“Anyone frankly reading this letter who has a problem with it, I think really has a problem,” he said. “I think it’s the most reasonable, sensible, moderate letter that Eric could possibly have written.”

All the letter asks imams to do, is to report an arse bender to allah (my words, not the letters) if you suspect that one of their fellow arse benders to allah (my words, not the letter) is resorting to terrorism (at home or abroad) to the authorities, but the imams said they wouldn’t do it until middle eastern policy changed.

Inclusiveness and togetherness, don’t you just feel the love?

  18. RonaldB says

It’s interesting how the Muslims change their story to suit the occasion.

At the Stand up for the Prophet conference in Garland, surrounded by crowds of flag-waving patriots, and bulky motorcyclists, the adherents of the prophet claimed that all they were doing was proselytizing the peaceful teachings of Muhammad to those Muslims who got the wrong idea.

But, in Britain, where the Muslims are a far greater proportion of the population, a declaration like that is hostile and Islamophobic. They wish to suppress the suggestion that any Muslim at all might need even the least bit of re-education.

I have no doubt that once the Muslim population of Garland increase substantially, their view will come to match the view of the British Muslims.

The Bell is Ringing, but Nobody’s at Home

It is still obvious that politicians are not in the least driven by logic, but only by what they are forced to do by their constituencies. So, nobody should expect Cameron, or the Garland public officials, to be interested in logic. The logic is for the people, who will exert pressure on the politicians. In a way, this is what you have to expect in a representative republic. Either the politicians act independently, or else they listen to the people. Those are two completely different models of governance.

Usual BBC coverage… 5 seconds of Camoron and ten minutes of various outraged muslims. Considering the foot stamping from the usual suspects I expected it to be a little more forthright than it is. But no, it’s absolutely grovelling with just a very mild suggestion that the mosques could possibly just help a little bit. If this is what Cameron wants us to see as ramping up the pressure it just shows what a diet of total grovel they’ve been used to.

    These two bits were choice:

pointing them to Tell Mama the totally discredited whinge factory (remember, the one run by a “mendacious greivance mongering taqiyya artist”)

    and

referring to the EDL as thugs when they’ve always been easily out-thugged by the government’s outsourced Trotskyite bully boys the UAF, of which David Cameron is a patron.

I understand he sent this letter out to 1000 Imams and none came to support his concerns. My logic tells me that 100% Imams are incompatible with the British values. I can’t imagine there is any room for an error. What has traditionally made Britain Britain and what has made the Islamic world what it is are polar opposites of each other. Unfortunately, the current crop of British elites—–you know the standard rogues, i.e., the present Prime Minister and his two immediate predecessors, the BBC, the Guardian, plenty of academics at Oxford and Cambridge, et al.—–keep doubling down in denial about this vast dichotomy between traditional Britain and “traditional” Islam.

But then, the current crop of British elites, some consciously, some unconsciously, want nothing to do with traditional Britain. Indeed, they despise it. Hence their collaboration with a mortal enemy of traditional Britain, wittingly or unwittingly. Whether fools or traitors, the effect is the same, i.e., the ongoing destruction of Britain. Being the long time admirer of British civilization which I am, I find myself despising the present British elites more than any Muslims. I would argue that I am not being unfair in doing so.

Here’s the Muslim Council of Britain from a couple of months ago, suggesting—how common is this?—that what causes violent Jihad is resistance to violent Jihad:

“Crackdown on British jihadis ‘will push youth further towards extremism'”

    http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2014/sep/01/crackdown-british-jihadis-push-muslim-youth-towards-extremism

This is Harun Khan, who is quoted above:

“They need to be talking to us and others to understand what it is that’s leading these boys down this route,” Khan told the Guardian. “Part of the problem is the constant talk of legislation, harassment and monitoring, stripping people of their passports. This is what’s leading young people towards radicalism.”

See? If only Britain and every other part of Dar-al-Harb just ignored Jihad, it would go away…sarc/off

And here he is, urging Britain readmitting Muslims who have been trained in violent Jihad in Syria and the Islamic State:

“They need to be talking to us and others to understand what it is that’s leading these boys down this route,” Khan told the Guardian. “Part of the problem is the constant talk of legislation, harassment and monitoring, stripping people of their passports. This is what’s leading young people towards radicalism.”

He hopes we won’t notice that the Charlie Hebdo massacre was done by Jihadists returned from Syria.

In fact, Muslim “leaders” have been *urging* Muslims returning from Jihad in Syria to use their new-found skills to attack Infidels in their own countries.

The comments section is interesting—some of the posters are obviously clueless, but quite a number of them actually have some idea of the threat Islam presents.

Then, on the other hand, there is a poster named “Particular Crab” who actually posits the idea that the hideous Islamic State, which has reinstituted slavery, beheads journalists and aid workers, and engages in genocide is:

“setting up a state that helps the poor, monitors business for profiteering and has banned interest bearing financial products.

There’s a lot more to this than just radical Islam it is also a radical departure from the screw your neighbour over attitude in the West.”

How big an anti-capitalist do you have to be to think that Muslims literally *enslaving* their non-Muslims neighbors and using them as sex slaves does not constitute screwing them over?

“Then, on the other hand, there is a poster named “Particular Crab” who actually posits the idea that the hideous Islamic State, which has reinstituted slavery, beheads journalists and aid workers, and engages in genocide is:

“setting up a state that helps the poor, monitors business for profiteering and has banned interest bearing financial products.

There’s a lot more to this than just radical Islam it is also a radical departure from the screw your neighbour over attitude in the West.””

Muslims need to Put Up or Shut Up,

What happened in Paris sent a thrill of delight up the spines of moderate Muslims.
Everyone to each tried to hide their glee and say “not me”
They offered insincere condolence with hearts of deceit.
Yet, even Prime Minister David Cameron has had enough.
He called out Muslims to either take a side or to own up.

People keep wondering why the left would crawl into bed with the jihadis’, well here is why:
the left have the same goal as the jihadis’, death, pure and simple death.
The left sees the jihadis’ as their dirty workers, doing the deed for them, while they sit back and enjoy their goals being fulfilled.
If two jihadi were left in the world, they would kill each other, so they could get into heaven. This suits the left perfectly, as they want to end humanity completely.
So does everyone get them now? lefti, jihadi, want everyone deadi.

Islamophobia? they have to be kidding….much more like recognizing Islamoreality and taking action against it. The phobia term is just part of taqiyya, a means to deflect all criticism of Islam in all its forms. It’s really become a many-headed monster with no one in control.

Imams decrying complaints against Islamist Terrorism just reinforce the fact that the terrorists and extremists really do represent the heart of Islam.

To develop ways to protect myself from a “clear and present” threat from the mudslimes is “islamophibic”.
If I have been told by them, and through reading their books, that my life and lifestyle are to be forfeited to pislam. Any attempt to prevent this is considered “islamophobic”. Just to consider defending myself from mudslimes is “islamophibic”. To prefer my religion over pislam is “islamophobic”. Well, looks like I have nothing to loose………………The most dangerous man, is one who has nothing to loose. That is the chink in their armor.
