In a sea of morose-looking world leaders, there’s Mahmoud Abbas smiling like the chesire cat. Does jihad murder — and especially murdered Jews — just make him feel ebullient all over?
Some aide should have reminded Abbas to at least try to appear saddened. At least it’s becoming increasingly obvious that this (corrupt and autocratic) “leader” always enjoys the scene of murdered Jews. This is similar to the chortling of the Saudi princes who visited the 9-11 site. They just can’t help themselves.

Spencer has another post explaining Hollande invited Abbas when it became clear Netanyahu decided to attend. Times of Israel provides their take on this exchange:
“French President Francois Hollande did not want Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to attend Sunday’s historic march in Paris, believing the Israeli leader’s presence at the rally would be “divisive,” Israeli media reported Sunday.
Netanyahu initially accepted Paris’s wishes and on Saturday cited security concerns to explain why he would not attend the event, which was organized in a show of solidarity and defiance after terrorist attacks in the French capital, which claimed 17 lives. Among the victims were four Jews at a kosher supermarket and a Muslim police officer.
However, the Prime Minister changed his mind later Saturday after Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman and Economy Minister Naftali Bennett announced they would join the march, Israel’s Channel 2 news reported.
When Netanyahu’s office told the Elysee Palace that he would be coming after all, France responded by highlighting that it was extending an invitation to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, according to the report. The French government also announced a planned meeting between Hollande and Abbas Saturday night.
The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office did not respond to a request for comment on the report.”

“In a sea of morose-looking world leaders, there’s Mahmoud Abbas smiling like the chesire cat.”
Here’s my take on the photo, and I believe the explanation lies in two simple points:
1. The French threatened to invite him (Abu Mazen) if Israeli PM Netanyahu insisted on attending the rally. The invitation thus serves to humiliate Netanyahu with regard to the “Palestinians” in a global “social” forum.
2. An extension of the first point, the “Palestinians”, via Abu Mazen, have been recognized somewhat formally as a legitimate state, with a legitimate “President”.
As a political stunt, the whole affair is a win-win for them. As for giving a sh*t about the dead, not so much.

Very sharp analysis, Tayloch.

Thank you, my friend! As you, and several others have noted, this is nothing more than a PR ploy to accelerate the cause (plight?) of the “Palestinians” onto the front stage of world opinion.
The French, to much dismay, just threw wide open the doors to the opinion that “Palestine” is a legit state; a “state” which must be dealt with and resolved immediately.

Nor can there be any excusing the jihadists for any action of the French state because they shot Jewish shoppers in a supermarket.
And finally there can be no excusing the jihadists for Muslim exclusion, because they shot and finished off an assimilated Muslim police officer.
