Like virtually all other authorities in the West, Eric Adams is assuming that if young Muslims from the West want to join the jihad, it’s our fault. He assumes that the U.S., or New York City, or the Borough of Brooklyn, or all of those and more, have not done all that they could have or should have done to integrate these young Muslims into American society, and if we redouble our efforts in that direction, the jihad will evanesce. Adams apparently thinks that if Brooklyn non-Muslim young people are kind to young Muslims in Google Hangout, these Muslims will not join the jihad. What is much more likely is that these Google Hangouts will become vehicles for dawah. Adams, like all other leaders in the West, refuses to consider the possibility that these young Muslims are not integrated and join the jihad for reasons of their own that arise from Islamic teachings, and that no amount of kindness from non-Muslims will change that.
“Brooklyn Borough President Plans Muslim Outreach After ISIS Arrests,” by Will Bredderman, New York Observer, February 26, 2015 (thanks to Frank):
A day after federal authorities arraigned three young men in Brooklyn on charges of plotting to join the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, Borough President Eric Adams announced his office would launch a new effort to help integrate Muslim youth into New York and American society.
Mr. Adams joined with heads of local immigrant groups from ex-Soviet republics in the Central Asia, which is the birthplace of the three men arrested for allegedly seeking to detonate a bomb in Coney Island, assassinate President Barack Obama and hijack a plane and take it to Syria. The Brooklyn leaders warned that many under-30 Muslims—like the three arrested yesterday—feel alienated in the United States, and find camaraderie and community in militant Islamic websites.
“We actively reached out to these communities so we could start a process of identifying their young men, bringing them in cross-communication with other young people throughout the borough,” Mr. Adams said.
The borough president said he intended to expand his Digital Dialogue program, which uses Google Hangout to allow high school kids to take part in citywide conversations, and said he would work with community groups to incorporate potentially disaffected and impressionable Muslim males.“Many of these young men don’t understand how to be part of the American culture, and someone is not there showing them that process,” he said, suggesting that the Digital Dialogues would be an alternative to becoming involved in extremist online forums. “We want to be pro-active: go into these communities, establish relationships with the communities, identify their young people and have them talk to young people from America, from Brooklyn, so they can understand that the hate that they were hearing online, that the hate is not what America is.”
Mr. Adams, a former NYPD sergeant, said he did not favor reviving Giuliani and Bloomberg era police surveillance programs on Muslim communities. But he called upon local business owners to report suspicious activities to the authorities.
“Many who are seeking to hurt America are using legal businesses to accomplish that task, and businesses must play a role in assuring to identify with the police department, and must maintain open dialogue with the law enforcement community,” he said.
He warned that the Internet poses both a danger and an opportunity in dealing with the terrorist threat.
“It is extremely challenging, because you’re talking lone wolves, and you’re talking individuals who are basically getting their information from the wrong source, and because of the Internet and the ability of getting information globally, it’s a challenge,” he said, though he added that he believed law enforcement was managing the problem well. “But aggressive actions of the NYPD, the Joint Terrorism Task Force, the FBI, they are really keeping their finger on the pulse and identifying those patterns.”…

Deny, deceive, demonize and duck. Those are the jihadist techniques to conceal jihad.
Naïve, uninformed politicians like Eric Adams are totally taken in due to their extreme credulity.
Muslims DENY Islam preaches supremacist war of subjugation (jihad), they DECEIVE by providing DISINFORMATION about jihad, they DEMONIZE those who ask probing questions about Islamic doctrines, and finally they DUCK being cornered in interviews by simply walking out while throwing sand in the eyes of the questioners. This is typical ‘raiding’ technique. Run up, hit the critic, then throw sand and run away.
‘Islamophobia’ is the sand. Western interviewers should start wearing goggles.

When Muslims call ‘Islamophobia’ they are saying they are unable to explain Islamic doctrines without tipping the kafirs off to the plan of subjugating them.

And whose fault is that? Do they not live in America? Shouldn’t the culture and values accessible by default be American? If they feel alienated then they’re going out of their way to integrate.
Si fueris Romae, Romano vivito more; si fueris alibi, vivito sicut ibi
The only “cross-communication” mainstream islam is interested is this: muslims tell us about islam, and we ask how to convert, or we agree to pay the jizyia and live as second-class subhumans.
Once again: if they’re born and raised in America, the culture they can access by default is American culture. If they’re not getting it then they’re getting a contradictory culture somewhere else – start by checking their families and communities.
This is such a stupid argument. Unless they’re online (24 – sleeping hours)/7 then the problem is not what they see online but rather what they are taught by their families and communities.
Because screw good ideas.
*facepalm*
If criminals can bribe members of the police (or kill those who refuse to be bribed), what would a “business owner” do? Accept a bag of money to pretend he sees nothing or risk his life, and the lives of his family members, to tell the police what, for example, “suspicious activities” his neighbour next door is doing?
Basically, that’s asking the general public to do the police’s work.
Once again: how many hours are these “alienated” people spending online?
Bullshit. Exactly how many of the 9/11 bombers were influenced by “the internet”? And why is it that local imams can’t explain why what these people see online is wrong?
No, they’re not. At best, they’re reacting to suspicions of terrorist actions. But they’re doing nothing to combat the ideology, the reason that causes people to plan a terrorist act.

You know, looking at all the Moslem outreach going on, it’s ironic that a boomlet is going on in the race pimpery business. Rev Al has been to the White House 82 times for official meetings. Now others like him are expanding their business model into a second line of business:religion pimpery. This is good work for the pimps, easy hours and fat paychecks.
But I remember when Spencer and Horowitz set up an outreach panel session of their own, a national series of meetings on Misogyny in Islam. The university presidents, pimps of another sort, threatened organizers with being thrown out of school, a kind of excommunication, if you get my drift.
Why did Misogyny outreach series have so much trouble. Cuz the two were fostering the truth, they weren’t pimping anything. So they got pimped. In a few places like Madison they were just smart enough to let the panel happen with a minimum of publicity, kind of a tacit pimp.

It seems that what you are describing is the classic short-coming of socialism. In theory, if you throw all peoples into one group, they will co-operate and create a perfect society. Reality yields something much different. At one time immigration was a process. forginers had to take class and study and learn something about the US. Each of them had one reason to be here. That was to be an American. It didn’t matter what they were used to, but from this point forward, new values and customs would have to be learned and followed. What unrestricted immigration does is simply place differing peoples, with wide ranging motivations, into our country and then wonder “why they do what they do”? Because that’s what they always have done. We act so surprised when one “immigrant” decides to chop off someone’s head. In our culture, some things like that are not even considered. In some cultures, some things like that are a given.
Call it what you may, it’s up to us, and no-one else, to decide what behaviors are acceptable and unacceptable in our culture. When these decisions are left to outsiders, you never know what you’ll get!

This is ridiculous. The US is probably the easiest country to assimilate to in the entire world. These people don’t assimilate because they don’t WANT to. Other cultures do not seem to have any trouble assimilating. When will these idiot politicians wake up and stop grovelling at the feet of these people every time THEY do something wrong. Reach out and touch someone… or something.
Talk talk talk. But not all talk is cheap, for example we talk in here about freedom and justice, which ain’t cheap. Outreach for some of the yammer, which is, and blah blah blaaaah about how mysterious is the painfully obvious. It’s something to do. The rabbis and priests don’t have much to do, so they’re always up for a good outreach session. I wonder if anybody’s keeping a record of all the outreach sessions, what was said during them, and what, if any, results they produced.
Outreach out and touch someone, but be careful. If it’s a radicalized someone, you could end up with deep stab wounds, or a nasty gunshot hole in your chest, or the force of an explosion.
Theo got the stab treatment, most get the bullet or the bomb treatment. So, when you reach out to touch, be careful of the intended recipient, if he’s radicalized right now stop the reach and walk on by him. Whistle while you do it so as not to draw unwanted attention to yourself, you dumb Infidel you.

Well put. I’ve had disagreements with people on a variety of issues. For the most part, they’ve had some plausible reason for believing what they believe. I’ve always had intelligent and fruitful discussions with those in the left. But what’s happening now with apologists for islam downright bizaar. They refuse to engage and simply repeat the mindless refrain of ‘islamaphobe’ or ‘rascist’ as if it’s rascist to object to an ideology in which three quarters of its adherents are not even arabic. I don’t recall anything remotely like this. Very disappointing. My only solace is that their are clear thinkers like you who was won’t be intimated by slander.

Talk to anyone who has a spouse or relative who has been in a rehab center for drug addiction. They will tell you that the same thing happens during meetings with family members. Blame is shifted to the family members and they are the focus of the problem, rather than the drug user. It’s all “feelgood” crap to make the drug user feel like they have a good reason to abuse drugs. It may all be for “good” reason, but all it accomplishes is justification for the drug abuser.

What bs. Look, my family came here in 1881. They didn’t need anyone to make sure. They didn’t need any special treatment to make sure they understood “how to be part of the American culture”. They learned the language and assimilated. Millions of other people have come here from all over the world and did the same thing. Some had a hard time at the beginning (Irish, Italians, Chinese etc). Why do THESE people need special help to fit in? If they are unable or unwilling then they need to go live in a predominantly muslim country.
rabrooks says
I’m catching on. They really never wanted to come HERE! They just wanted to go to a place where they could be in charge! They never had any intentions of learning english, govt/civics, or even getting along with their new neighbors. They came here as parasites, to take for themselves and their way of life with overwhelming and killing the host being the eventuality. Ever try to talk to one? Any time it gets to critical thinking or examining their culture, the response starts with anger, and threats of violence. End of discussion. Remember, being critical of their military, social or political views, encroaches on the “religious” portions of pislam. They can never fit into the modern world. Even the slightest inquiry of any part of shari’a is forbidden. There is no hope for them.
rabrooks says
Well… Sounds familiar up to a point. Most youth go through the same things!. Feel lost, alone different and don’t fit in. Somehow, we all found a way to deal with life. Some found religion. Some went military. Some found sports. Some were guided to hunting/fishing. There were a few that did lean towards the illegal. Some got the “hook-up” addiction. Some turned drug/alcohol addicts. But never before did American youths take up the brutal killing that pislam advocates. I guess the key is that they were “guided”. I do my best to share information and my time with kids who are searching. It seems that there is the influence of pislam present in any group. Many of them seem to romanticize “living on the edge” as a jihadi, striking back at the US, parents, school and a world that they can’t win like their video games. When I was young, I was fortunate to have been insulated from most of this by sports and family. When I wanted to leave my mark in history, and have my name sung around campfires, I signed up for football or wrestling tournament. I was raised with a church background, so there were some things that didn’t happen. I do feel for folks that never had an exposure to anything other than their immediate surroundings.
