Wait, what? He said, “our religion”? Back in 2008, when he referred to “my Muslim faith,” it was dismissed as a slip of the tongue. But now, if this AP report is accurate in quoting him, this is two “slips of the tongue” in the same direction — along with six years of foreign and domestic policies that aid and enable the advance of jihad and Islamic supremacism.
Of course, what Obama is really doing here is not saying that he is a Muslim, but making a moral equivalence claim that all religions are equally capable of inciting their adherents to violence. That is a dogma that is nearly universally held these days, and is designed to stymie resistance to jihad and Islamic supremacism.
“Obama condemns those who seek to ‘hijack religion,'” Associated Press, February 5, 2015 (thanks to Paul):
President Obama condemned those who seek to use religion as a rationale for carrying out violence around the world, declaring Thursday that “no god condones terror.”
“We are summoned to push back against those who would distort our religion for their nihilistic ends,” Obama said during remarks at the National Prayer Breakfast. He singled out the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria, calling the militants a “death cult,” as well as those responsible for last month’s terror attacks in Paris and deadly assault on a school in Pakistan….

Or a very carefully calculated mess. A covert jihadi in his position couldn’t do “better” and cause more chaos around the world to promote Islam, and mad dog jihad armies of all stipes, than he has and still remain free and unarrested and in power. He has been a spectacular success in this light, and still has nearly two more years to bring as much of the free world to its knees to bow to Islam as he can.

He does not like Egypt’s President because, backed by the Egyptian people, al Sisi threw Obama’s MASTERS out of power…FOREVER.
Another reason is because, unlike Obama, al Sisi actually LOVES his country and his people, both Christians and Muslims.

I don’t believe you are an atheist. There is no such humanbeing. Everyone believs in something. Deep in your mind, you know what your belief is. Maybe you believe in yourself.
But if there is a God, you will have a lot of explaining to do.
Don McKellar says
Simply because you cannot believe that there are people who do not believe, does not mean that there are no people who don’t believe.
All belief in dieties is completely rooted in fear and nothing more — fear of the unknown, uncontrollable future and fear of dying. And none of those beliefs, for cows and rats who are gods or god-men dictators or a Christian god or a Mayan sun god, have even the tiniest shred of evidence to support them. For if they did, then there would only be one religion in the world, because it would be the only one with proof that it’s true.
somehistory says
Dion M.
You have habit of making some really dumb statements. Such as “…then there would only be one religion in the world, because it would be the only one with proof that it’s true”
Chocolate cake is good tasting when prepared correctly. But….there are many people who don’t like chocolate cake and would not agree that it tastes good. For many of us, there is *proof* of a Supreme Being, but because some…such as you…choose not to believe as we do, you do not accept the proof and therefore, discount the existence of God. And since not all people are the same, even with *proof beyond even a shadow of a doubt*….which not even human courts require for a case to be settled…there would be many who would not want to serve God and would choose to do their own thing.
You stated another falsehood when you wrote : “All belief in dieties is completely rooted in fear and nothing more ”
You, Don M, are not yourself *God* and therefore cannot know the mind and heart of all people, every human, so as to say the reasons for people believing in a Supreme Being.
Wise up and realize that with some, the knowledge that God expects something good from His creation is the reason some people do good things even when faced with insult and evil deeds.

I completely agree, Somehistory …and Don’s reasons are certainly not why *I* believe in God. Don’s comment, about why people believe in God, is rude, dismissive, and it reveals someone whose mind is made up. At the very least, Don might consider politely *asking* another person, “Hey, why do you believe in God?”, and then let THEM explain why ..no, instead Don repeatedly makes such arrogant and thoughtless presumptions about people of faith from the get-go.
And I came to faith in God by examining the evidence …
Question: “Does God exist? Is there evidence for the existence of God?”

Dearest somehistory,
If all cakes were imaginary, and then one day somebody figured out how to make a chocolate cake real so that people could actually taste and eat one, then it would be the favourite cake of everybody in the world, and the only one anybody would seriously consider as cake — simply because the others don’t really exist.
You’re welcome.
And I’m glad that champ and voegelinian have managed to relieve your fear after my post and its inescapable logic scared you so badly. You should thank them again, too.
somehistory says
Ah, Don, you’re so funny. Thanks for the big laugh. And just so you know, not everyone eats cake. Some people avoid admitting that cake actually exists. Others just don’t like chocolate and so make up their own. Some have allowed the devil to make it for them and others say there is no cake because the devil has convinced them a cake is not possible.
Glad I could clarify that for you.
My point with the cake was actually that people do not agree with others…in any situation there will always be a few that, no matter what, they just won’t accept the truth. Think of the trial of O.J.Simpson. The proof was there, but some people just refused to see it and said he was not guilty.
And just so you know, your “logic” wouldn’t be accepted by the fictional character of Mr. Spock. In his words, I say to you, “That’s not logical, Don.” I don’t fear anything you can think or make up to say. You’re just delusional if you believe otherwise.
But you have a great little evening there wherever you are in your life of denial.

If any religion can be used to justify atrocities, why are the terrorists not citing Christian scripture in their exhortations? After all, we’re constantly told that the Christian religion is responsible for the most violence by far, including the Thirty Years’ War, the Crusades, the Inquisition, the Salem witch trials, the genocide of native Americans, African slavery, two world wars, the genocide of the Jews, two atomic bombings, the Troubles in Ireland, abortion clinic attacks, Oklahoma City, and on and on. The death toll from Christianity is truly staggering. Moreover, there are over two billion Christians on this planet today, the largest base of any religion, the most fertile source for recruits. Yet instead, these terrorists use a religion that everyone knows is peaceful for their cynical game. Someone should explain this foolishness.
Alexius Comnenus says
I disagree with your point in regard to Christianity. Mistakes were made when provoked. Indeed force should never be used against other people.
But now we live in 21st century and your historical enumeration of diferent events taken out of their historical frame is not fair. The crusades came as a response to the Islam attitude to Christians.
Base on your assertion, we should allow ISIS to butcher all the world and then the other muslims.
The Christians had stopped the advance of Islam in many parts of Europe. Thanks be to God for the victory of Tours in Oct. 10, 732, and Lepanto in Oct. 7, 1571, and the Viena 1683. If Islam wants to live in peace should allow the Chrstians to send their missionaries to their countries and not to stop.

MKG says
Hi pdsnag
Of all the religious bickering going on, your post really caught my attention, and I neither agree nor disagree with you.
In regards to your man made gods, I have literally travelled the world and have met many people of different faiths and customs. I can not believe that a one true God will speak to one prophet or favor one people over another. I believe that a one true God would speak to all living things in a language they can understand or through no language at all. Yet people will hold up their book or stand by their prophet as the only truth where all others are completely lost in falsehood. This all stinks of vanity and lack of true faith to the point where people will kill each other to prove they are right. This vanity and insecurity is at it’s worse when people use their religion to impose their will on their fellow man.
The point is, the true face of God can be seen in the similarities of all living things scattered about the Earth as opposed to one people or region, and we are all free to honor the one true God in a manner that best suites us while living in peace with our environment and our neighbors.
The one True God has natural laws that all living things are bound to. Man kind in his wisdom or foolishness has tried and somewhat succeeded in figuring out what those laws are. Man has written many books in order to teach others of his discovery. These natural laws have a certain force or momentum to them. Man can get onboard and go along, in which case he may live long and prosper. He can step aside, in which case he will stagnate and die, or he can get in the way and defy the one true God’s natural laws, in which case he will be destroyed. If that wasn’t the case, it is not the natural law of the one true God, and man would have nothing to fear.
Throughout my travels I have repeatedly seen the face of this one true God and I firmly believe. Most of the time I have gone with the law and have prospered, and yes, I have defied the law a number of times and got my butt kicked.

Two points:
(1) Bin Laden was likely not killed during the alleged raid in Pakistan. Remember Obama’s favorite type of lie is lying by distraction. When he doesn’t want you to think about X, he will grandly tell you that the key issues are B, C and D. Remember how Barry teased the possibility of releasing the “OBL photos,” and then – surprise, surprise – “decided” not to? Is this how a U.S. president acts? Long before the “assassination” there were rumors that OBL had died in the early 2000s, likely in Iran.
(2) Michelle appears to have made some fundamental decision in Saudi Arabia. During the flight back to DC, she told Barry what she thought of his kowtowing to the Saudi royals, and demanded (and was promised) substantial changes. She may have threatened to resort to embarrassing revelations. Note Barry’s cautious and propitiating demeanor upon arrival in the U.S.

@ Tilda: To resolve your indecision, consider looking at what Obama is doing, not necessarily at what he says. He can say anything, but his actions speak much louder than his words. His actions are entirely consistent with what a Muslim would do in his place. He has pulled the troops from Afganistan and Iraq just when our intelligence intercepted messages from al Qaeda saying the fight was over, the U.S. had won. He holds eid al-Fitar feasts in the White House to mark the end of Ramadan. He has installed at least five Muslim Brotherhood members in key positions, including the Department of Homeland Security, in his administration. He congratulated Morsi, the Muslim Brotherhood member when he became president of Egypt, but when al-Sisi was duly elected he said nothing. He bowed to the king of Saudi Arabia, he directed that Muslims be given expedited processing when immigrating to America, I could go on and on showing that his actions are those of a Muslim intent on converting America to Islam. As bad as Obama is, his governess is worse. Valerie Jarrett is an Iranian born Muslim. Check it out. She has ties with terrorist William Ayers, and her father-in-law, Vernon Jarrett is a card-carrying communist party member and associate of Frank Marshall Davis, the controversial Communist Party activist who was Obama’s childhood mentor. (Davis is mentioned many times in Obama’s autobiography.) His actions speak louder than his words and she pulls his strings.

After 9/11, I could not believe that this could take place….but most Americans are not accustomed to massive deception…since in Christianity we believe “thou shall not lie”. So the the lie was sold to the media and we hear often that “terror” has nothing to do with Islam. Truly sickening. STJOHNOFGRAFTON says
“but most Americans are not accustomed to massive deception….”
Here’s Hitler’s view on mass deception in his book Mein Kampf : “in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying”.
