In the enlightened West, we don’t have blasphemy laws. If someone expresses what Leftists and Islamic supremacists think of as insulting Islam here, the only thing that happens is that you’re excoriated as a racist and bigot, and shunned by all decent folk. Clearly a much more progressive way of doing things.
Anyway, will any of the Islamic apologists who have recently been assuring us that Islam has no death penalty for blasphemy travel over to Saudi Arabia to explain to the relevant authorities how they’re misunderstanding Islam?
“Saudi sentenced to death for abusing Islam,” Emirates 24/7, February 23, 2015 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
A Saudi court sentenced a local man to death after he was found guilty of insulting Islam and its Prophet (PBUH), a newspaper reported on Monday.
The unidentified man, in his 20s, was also charged with ripping a copy of the Holy Koran, filming the act and publishing it on social networks, ‘Sharq’ said.
“The court sentenced the man to beheaded after finding him guilty in those charges,” the paper said in a report from the northeastern town of Hafr Albatin.
It said a three-judge panel issued the death verdict against the defendant but it did not make clear if he can appeal.

The above is taking place in one of US best friends and allies!
For those saying that ISIS has nothing to do with Islam.

By the way I encountered an interesting slogan by someone which I’d like to share on this site. It said: “Show love and compassion for Muslims by showing them Islam’s true nature”.
In the meantime, through my personal experience, I many times discovered that, for at least many Muslims, doubting something in the religion, one of its teachings or doctrines is not even an option, let alone discussing it with anybody!

The Qur’an is supposedly the word of Allah. Why can’t Allah handle this one on his own?
You would think that they would pity this man’s fate for daring to insult the spiteful Allah.
Maybe these Allah deputies know good and well that was just Muhammad’s sock-puppet.
BTW:
A side note to Muslims:
Muslims love to mock Christianity for having many ‘versions’ of the Bible.
There is only one bible.
Different versions are merely different translations of the one Bible.
Antonius Tanoso says
Can’t agree more with you, if Allah is so Great/Akbar, why does he need assistance from his creations to carry out the punishment ? It’s contrary to his nature, I would think. This is 7th century Arab’s mind at work.

Does anyone know why they always say “peace be upon him” after saying his name? It is odd.

Brave man for tearing up the koran and knowing what would happen to him. Chalk one up for the freedom of speech. Wish the Saudis could enjoy the same.

This, again, puts the lie to the claim that is is not islam, but a *perversion* of islam. SA is *the* place where all muslims in the U.S. wish to go….taking time off from their jobs, and school and getting paid to do so…in order to make the most important trip of their lives. So, if is is not *islam*…it’s a really close imitation of the the real thing.
And it’s all a perversion of things right and good, of commands from our Creator, and the *tradition* of prophets to help mankind know what God wants a person to do.
This poor guy proved again, just how evil the *real* islam is.

This sad fellow is probably just poor and needs a job. He was likely in need of toilet paper and couldn’t afford to buy any…

Apparently they use their robes if they cannot find any sand.

They don’t use toilet paper. They wash their behind. Many years ago I was in transit through Kuwit and used their toilet at the airport. No toilet paper but there was a tap on the wall with a narrow hose attached.
I did wonder how I was going to dry myself but thank God I had plenty of tissues in my bag so hosing my behind didn’t have to happen.
They probably just drip dry over there. Those long robes hide the wet patch.
Peggy says
Mean to say Kuwait. Really have to get better at typing.
bernie says
That’s quite unclean. People should use toilet paper first, then if possible use a bidet or shower hose/nozzle with some liquid soap to get the rest of the dingleberries out. Then, some paper towels to dry, and wash hands thoroughly with soap.
Or, just use toilet paper, then when you get home, use a shower or bath to clean it.

I always have a copy of the Holy Koran by my throne. No, not a Jannat throne, the one in my bathroom. It’s on the counter along with a pair of scissors, and the Holy Koran loses 3 or 4 pages daily. I’ll let you fill in the rest.
Does this mean I’m in trouble if I get caught doing this in Arabia?
Baucent says
OK, so how does this case differ from the Charlie Hebdo attacks? In Paris members of the muslim community acted as judge and executioner on those who had blasphemed the “prophet”. In this Saudi case, the only difference is a sovereign State rather than individuals are dispensing Islamic justice. But the action is the same. If the killings in Paris are a act of terrorism, then Saudi Arabia is also a terrorist State if it beheads people for blasphemy.
torino390 says
excellent point. difficult to argue that.
nothosaur says
The difference is this. George W Bush held hands like a schoolgirl with the leader of these thugs, and Barack Obama bowed to their leader.
The attackers in Paris, for some reason, did not get such respect.
It’s complicated.

I think most decent people would agree that the KSA is **indeed** a terrorist state.
Amoral politicians, on the other hand, will no doubt twist themselves into sophistical pretzels, in order to argue that a sovereign state has the right to enact what legislation it pleases.
Unless, of course, the sovereign state is Israel.

Why does Robert Spencer say there is no blasphemy law in the West and that shunning is the worst you can fear for insulting Islam? He must know that in Britain at least the hate speech legislation acts as a de facto blasphemy law and that you can end up in the slammer for destroying your own property if it has 7th century hate speech printed on it.
ManchesterLad says
Quite so.
Like that UK woman who was imprisoned for one year for wrapping bacon rasher around the door handle of a mosque! The Horror of her act, it makes me shudder!
Like the UK man who was banned from all football grounds *for life* for tearing a Quoran!
As we know, it is OK the other way around. Muslims can threaten and insult whites, or our culture, without any fear of retribution. In fact, if a kuffar complains about it he will be accused of being a Racist.
Angemon says
These “extremists” are getting bolder by the day… Who would have thought a Saudi would do such a thing?
Raj says
I work in a library and came across an Islamic book remorseless in its logic published in London entitled something like: A call for the simple belief in one God.
By the logic of this book Abraham was the first perfect (if not Adam) Muslim and so was everyone else in that line including Jesus. All others (Hindus, Romans, Buddhists, Taoists) are grave sinners. Why can’t Christians simply acknowledge their holy book and understand that Islam is the completion of the triad of Monitheism deserving world domination under God?
Compelling yet chilling. Islam has created a race of monsters standing up to this one God, and have been paid by a century of oil money and US tax dollars and weapons in alliance with Western stupidity (getting rid of the Shah, Saddam Hussein, Gaddafi, Mubarak …) … let the Muslim serpents destroy themselves, no need for more petroleum on the fire.
Mirren10 says
I would really like to know more of the background on this.
”A Saudi court sentenced a local man to death after he was found guilty of insulting Islam and its Prophet (PBUH), a newspaper reported on Monday.

If this man *really* did this, then it is an act of courage and principle. Perhaps he is an apostate from islam, and bravely decided to put his money where his mouth is. If so, kudos to him ! He might even be a convert to Christianity, and decided to stand for his new faith, publicly.
On the other hand, islam and mohammedans being what they are, he could have been unfortunate enough to fall foul of some fellow mohammedan, who wanted revenge for some perceived slight, a victim of a vendetta, or he may have property/money another mohammedan wanted. In mohammedan countries, all that is needed is to level the charge of blasphemy !
And scum like camoron, and bug a lugs Charlie, and obama, actually went to this vile and evil cess pit of a country to attend the funeral of that putrescent old pig, abdullah.
It is **utterly sickening**.

Obviously, if khalifa Barak Hussein is to be believed, then these terrorists have absolutely nothing to do with islam. Fine, let’s act on that and remove the korans, prayer rugs and halal meals from GITMO today. Why is the congress demanding this savings from tax payer funds?
Of course, Barry is in cahoots with islam, so iran will get their nukes, the isolation and destruction of Israel will continue and wimps Boehner and McConnell can truly say: “I helped!”
The time to initiate IMPEACHMENT is long overdue, but the GOP congress has surrendered almost all of its constitutional rights.
Proud English Infidel says
This form of Saudi justice reminds me of a line from the English sitcom, ‘Dads Army’ when Cpl Jones (PBUH) reminiscing about his time in the Sudan, said “We always gave those fuzziewuzzies a fair trial before we shot them” Saudi/muslim justice is surely a contradiction in terms.

How can they quote the Qur’an, when Allah has never ever foretold, wrote, or made any form of allowances for the daily use let alone sanctioning the use of these 21st century conveyances and weapons of modern day life to be used by Muslims?
Islam in Arabic, the word “Islam” means submission or surrender.
ECAW says
Seems he did according to the Hilali-Khan translation, the “Wahhabi Koran”:
8:60 And make ready against them all you can of power, including steeds of war (tanks, planes, missiles, artillery, etc.) to threaten the enemy of Allah and your enemy, and others besides whom, you may not know but whom Allah does know. And whatever you shall spend in the Cause of Allah shall be repaid unto you, and you shall not be treated unjustly.

Matthieu Baudin says
I live in one of those countries where free speech lacks any constitutional basis and relies instead on a collective force of habit. Although new and existing laws are continuing to constrain ones ability to publicly criticise the contents of the Koran I believe it is still permissible to burn, shred, compost or store it under the dogs mattress so long as this is done in the privacy of your own home between consenting occupants.
