Egypt: Muslim mob attacks church honoring Christian martyrs of Islamic State

Mar 29, 2015 9:24 pm By Robert Spencer

Church-Minya“It is not permissible for Christians to build or repair churches.” — Egyptian Shaykh Sa’id ‘Abd-al-‘Athim

“Non-Muslim subjects…are forbidden to build new churches.” (Reliance of the Traveller 011.5; o119-10)

“Minya church commemorating beheaded Egyptians attacked,” by Mahmoud Mostafa, Daily News Egypt, March 29, 2015 (thanks to Patrick Poole):

…On Friday, scores of mostly young Muslims gathered in the Minya governorate after midday prayer, demonstrating in front of a church under construction there. They chanted that there is no way the church would be built.

After a while, the crowd vanished, but later in the night a smaller number of anonymous militants attacked the church with Molotov cocktails. In the attack, seven people were injured, and one car was left burning.

In February, Copts in Minya’s Our Village called for a church to be established in the village honouring 20 Coptic Egyptian workers beheaded in Libya. They died at the hands of Islamic State militants in Libya, according to religious freedoms researcher at the Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights (EIPR) Ishak Ibrahim.

Thirteen of the beheaded Coptic workers were from the village. Ibrahim told Daily News Egypt that, during their funeral, Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb said President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi agreed for the church to be built.

Coptic residents bought land and started the church’s construction, sparking protests from Muslim residents who were angered by the church. The Muslim residents were unhappy at the church’s proposed presence and its position at the entrance to the village.

After the attack on the church, Minya’s governor conducted a meeting on Saturday with Coptic and Muslim residents to solve the issue. An initial agreement was reached to change the church’s position from the village’s entrance, according to Ibrahim.

Egyptian law regulating the building of Coptic houses of worship can be traced back to the Ottoman era, and limits the approval authority for the building of new churches to the president.

New laws decreasing such restrictions have been mulled over since the 25 January Revolution, but have yet to materialise. However, Egypt’s constitution adopted in 2014 states: “Freedom of practicing religious rituals and building worship places for the Abrahamic religions (Islam, Christianity, Judaism) is a right regulated by the law.”

Attacking churches and properties belonging to Christians marked the aftermath of the violent dispersal of pro-Muslim Brotherhood sit-ins in August 2013. “Crowds of men attacked at least 42 churches, burning or damaging 37, as well as dozens of other Christian religious institutions” throughout the country in protest against the support of Christians to the military’s power takeover, according to Human Rights Watch….

It’s written in the law, but the crowds of muslim haters can’t read, can’t hear, can’t learn. They just steal, kill and destroy, like their father, satan the devil.

Sharia law is very clear…highly codified…highly intolerant and lethal…and explained in thousands of fatwas.

      Sharia law is the devil.

Mecca and Medina are considered Islam’s most “holy cities.”

Mecca and Medina officially became “purely Islamic” the day the last Jewish males of breeding age were but to death. The surviving Jewish women and children essentially became part of the first “Islamic harems”.

We ex-Muslims living with Islam’s formal and informal death penalty for apostasy know that Islam is a highly intolerant fraud overloaded with maleficence towards both the Jews and the Christians.

One of Muhammad’s worst crimes, which set a tragic precedent, was his slaughter of the Jewish tribe of Banu Quraiza. The Banu Quraiza were the last of the three Jewish tribes living in and around Yathrib that Muhammad and his followers massacred when Muhammad had finally achieved the power and control that he had long sought. Through Muhammad’s trademark deceit, he instigated a war between the Muslims and the Jewish tribe of Banu Quraiza. Once he had savagely defeated them, Muhammad ordered all of the males who had reached the age of maturity (grown pubic hair) to be killed. Trenches were dug, the men were beheaded, their bodies were thrown in the trench and the trench was covered over with dirt. The women and children were enslaved and the wealth of Banu Quraiza was divided among the Muslim fighters.

Here is an excerpt from The Life of Muhammed (page 464) documenting the incident:

Then they surrendered, and the apostle confined them in Medina. Then the apostle went out to the market of Medina and dug trenches in it. Then he sent for them and struck off their heads in those trenches as they were brought out to him in batches. There were 600 or 700 in all, though some put the figure as high as 800 or 900.

Verse 33 Chapter 26 of the Qur’an mentions the massacre:

He brought down from their strongholds those who had supported them from among the people of the book (the Jews of Banu Quraiza) and cast terror into their hearts, so that you slew some and others you took captive.

Yeah, sharia is directly from satan. The Egyptians made a constitution last year, according to the article, that should allow Christians to have places of worship, but to those crowds of devil worshippers, that constitution’s law means nothing. It’s what the devil wants that counts with them.

“forbidden to openly mourn the victims of Muslim savagery, as this is considered a form of criticizing Islam.”

That’s exactly the case of what has happened between Sweden and Saudi Arabia (A post on this subject is found on this page of JW).

A Swedish minister criticizes savage S. A. government laws and the Saudis take it as an insult to Islam, because these later know damn well that those laws are firmly and precisely based on Islamic Sharia. The Swedes apologize!

In other words, all those so called “moderate Muslims” while insisting that all those horrible terrible crimes committed by ISIS or any other entity including governments ruling by Sharia, are not Islamic, they won’t participate in or tolerate any acts commemorating victims of those same acts. Why? It’s simple and doesn’t need a degree in human psychology to figure it out!

They know quite well, on a certain level of their consciousness, that these acts are based on the Quran, Hadiths and Sunnah.

Meanwhile what western leaders do in response to such behavior? Instead of pinpointing to all Muslims this hypocritical, contradictory behavior and standing up for universal human rights and values, they bow down to those psychotic and mentally confused individuals.

      Sick world, indeed!

And this last remark brings me to my question. I am not an American and I do not live in the USA. I cannot decide whether Mr Obama is mentally ill, totally deluded or deliberately committing treason. That would determine the difference among treatment in a mental institution, a debrainwashing, or a firing squad at dawn. Whichever of the above the man suffers from, he must, surely, from time to time, experience lucid moments in which he knows that he is not leaving any sort of legacy and that, compared to Mr Netanyahu he comes across as a total loss. Can that be an additional driver of his condition?

“I cannot decide whether Mr Obama is mentally ill, totally deluded or deliberately committing treason. That would determine the difference among treatment in a mental institution, a debrainwashing, or a firing squad at dawn.”

Oh, he’s deliberately committing treason. Of that, I have no doubt.

” Whichever of the above the man suffers from, he must, surely, from time to time, experience lucid moments in which he knows that he is not leaving any sort of legacy and that, compared to Mr Netanyahu he comes across as a total loss. Can that be an additional driver of his condition?”

The only “legacy” this man seems to desire is to destroy my country.

And in this, he is succeeding. Under the few years of this man’s regime, I have to come to barely recognize my own nation.

I would be happy with 1) an impeachment, 2) an apology from all the useful idiots who facilitated this charade, and 3) exile of Obama to a Caribbean island of his choice (I hear the beaches and golf courses on St. Helena are great…).

Coptic Christians not allowed to build Christian churches in their own land—by order of the Muslim invaders of their country.
I wonder how long it will be before British Christians will have to ask the Muslim Council of Britain for permission to build a church in their own land ????

The way things are going, it will be very soon. To build a church in Britian will be considered offensive to Muslims, therefore it will not be allowed. The next step will be to demolish the existing churches (and synagogues, of course).

Notice that the law under Saint Sisi (canonized by too many gullible Jihad Watchers as our Great Brown Hope who will save us from his own Islam) is still sharia:

Egyptian law regulating the building of Coptic houses of worship can be traced back to the Ottoman era, and limits the approval authority for the building of new churches to the president.

Then notice the supposedly marked Sisian difference:

New laws decreasing such restrictions have been mulled over since the 25 January Revolution, but have yet to materialise. However, Egypt’s constitution adopted in 2014 states: “Freedom of practicing religious rituals and building worship places for the Abrahamic religions (Islam, Christianity, Judaism) is a right regulated by the law.”

This 2014 law is still in complete accord with Sharia — Sharia does not forbid the building of a church by a “People of the Book”; it only forbids the re-building and repair of churches. So what we have here codified in Sisi’s law is sly kitman. Secondly, what’s up with this “for the Abrahamic religions (Islam, Christianity, Judaism)” crap? What about anyone in Egypt who might want to start a church to some other god or gods or in honor of some non-theological religion like Buddhism? I guess Sisi’s Islam prevents him from bestowing such non-Islamic freedoms, eh…?

      • voegelinian says

        Mar 30, 2015 at 2:43 pm

Also the sly kitman in the 2014 law — nowhere does it stipulate that a church by any of the “Peoples of the Book” (Christians or Jews) may be taller than a mosque or in a more prominent place or more lavish in appearance — i.e., may imply a competition and lack of humiliated submission to the “Best of all Peoples” (the Ass-Sniffing Mohammedans).

      • TH says

        Mar 30, 2015 at 5:15 pm

Sisi is between a rock and a hard place and it does seem that he is well intentioned, but his position regarding a theoretical “reofrm of Islam” is untenable. If he is not careful, he might end up like Sadat who made peace with Israel. He needs the support of the Copts, so he is probably doing what he can at present. He would be well advised to staff his guard and household with Copts as he may be bombed out or poisoned. He has lived many years in the U.S. and somehow seems to think that a reform of Islam is possible, or at least that is what he says.

        • voegelinian says

          Mar 31, 2015 at 2:40 pm

Andrew Bostom has shown with evidence that Sisi believes in Jihad. Oh, but we know there is only one form of Jihad — the obvious militant kind, and there can’t possibly be any deceit in Islam, right?

      • gravenimage says

        Mar 31, 2015 at 1:12 pm

Yes—the idea that Sisi is a true reformer of Islam is naïve. He is no doubt marginally preferable to the Muslim Brotherhood which he ousted, but to expect more of him than from, say, Mubarak or someone like him is simply unrealistic.

Yeah. Its as expected. The law says one thing. They go to mosque on friday and hear the real teaching of the quran. So its expected.

Moslems can only be good if they let go of Moh’d.
If they let go of Moh’d, then, the quran is discredited.
If the quran is discredited, then the sharia is straw.
So if the sharia is straw, then, Islamic civilization would be found to have been………. (whatamacallit?)

They dread this. Yes the Mohammedans.

  8. Joseph says

The one thing that the Mussy will NEVER understand is that they are only destroying a building. The REAL church of JESUS CHRIST is the people. We will just go underground like when the church first began. They were persecuted then as they are now. JESUS said “As it was in the beginning so shall it be in the end.”
One warning though….NEVER swear allegiance to Islam to save your head. This may be interpreted as taking the mark of the beast. I wouldn’t want to risk my eternal soul on this one.
The mark may not be physical. The hand or forehead could be an allusion as to what we do and what we think. Taking the mark under ANY pretext is still taking the mark.

What do Muslims care about law? They are told to only obey Allah’s laws (and their master imam’s calls to brownshirting and murder and harassment, all religious activities of course), man made laws are irrelevant. Friday prayers, I think they meant friday’s political meetings.
