“The man’s family eventually paid ISIS about $80,000 to get him out and he was released into the streets of Aleppo.” And that will only ensure that the Islamic State will take more hostages, and more parents will get these phone calls.
“Christian held hostage for five months by ISIS tells how he was made to call his parents while being electrocuted so they would hear the screams and pay a ransom,” by Evan Bleier, Daily Mail, March 21, 2015 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
A Syrian man who was held hostage by a group which was absorbed into ISIS in 2013 has shared the story of his five-month ordeal.
The anonymous man, who is Christian and works as a superintendent at a building outside of Beirut, Lebanon, was taken by a group called the Muhajadeen Shura Council in February of 2013.
He had passed through 15 Syrian Army checkpoints after entering the country from Lebanon when the militants took him and another man who was also Christian.
The men were handcuffed, put in a truck and driven to a location about eight hours away, the man told New York Magazine.
Once they arrived, the men were blindfolded and chained to a wall.
The militia members informed the second man they were going to kill him and told the first man something even more frightening.
They said: ‘We know everything about you. We know where your family lives, what their names are.’
The men were tortured, beaten and starved.
On one occasion, the man was forced to speak with his family on the phone while being electrocuted so they would hear him scream and feel more compelled to pay a ransom.
Another time, they told the man if his family didn’t pay in two days, ‘We will make you call your family and tell them it’s their fault you are going to die.’
Later that day, group members took the second man into an adjacent room and shot him.
A Christian man from Aleppo, Syria, was brought in and took his place.
At some point the Muhajadeen Shura Council was absorbed by ISIS.
When ISIS took over, they removed the blindfolds on the hostages.
The man said the soldiers serving his new captors were ‘brainwashed’ and they hailed from countries including France, Belgium, Germany, Russia, Britain, Saudi Arabia, Morocco and Tunisia.
The ISIS soldiers continued to torture the men both physically and mentally, but they did not try to convert them to Islam.
The man’s family eventually paid ISIS about $80,000 to get him out and he was released into the streets of Aleppo.
He estimated there were over 100 people being held during the course of his confinement, the majority of whom were Christian, and that 37 people were killed….

Jesus told his disciples what to expect in the coming days…….
“All this I have told you so that you will not fall away. They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God.”

I’ve made it as clear as I can to everyone who knows me that if I’m ever abducted by mahometan jihadistas, there is to be NO ransom paid for me, nor are there to be negotiations for my release.
I’m either returned safe and sound to my home, or they can just send me to Jesus.

I want to fight them…I am now an old man and no good for combat, but want them all dead.

ATO: Of course you want to fight them. That is because you are a courageous man, know right from wrong, and are civilized. And your feelings do you credit.
I often feel the same way! I’m a woman, middle-aged, and not even no good for battle, but indeed a liability (as are any/all women in combat roles).
Still I know what you mean. I remember as 9/11 was happening: I wanted, as if galvanized, to get on a plane, get a gun, and start killing those savages.
I believe this feeling is from God, Who puts in our hearts a ‘hunger and thirst for justice’. Thank you for sharing yours with us dear ATO.

Kathy, thank you for the kind words. I was once a soldier. I served in Vietnam 50 years ago. I had nothing against the Vietnamese. I have a lot against the Muslim.
Moral men face evil and destroy it.

Read Vince Flynn’s book Term Limits. Somehow some way people can’t be allowed to return to this country after “doing a tour with the Islamic State and being treated by our corrupt, compromised government like they went on a vacation.
People think I’m whining when I talk about those Audio Terrorists in their “boomer cars” who have pretty much destroyed the quality of life in cities across the country and the peace and quiet we used to hold almost sacred.
I would really like to make them pay. My father would have turned the guy pulling up next to him in one of those boomer cars into road kill and I know for a fact the cops would have patted him on the back.
They are a symptom of the disease that is the decline of this country. Like Islam is a disease and Muslims are the symptoms. Vince Flynn topic in his book is THE solution to our corruption problems. And it may be the answer to our local issues as well.

You can still pull 3lbs, correct? That is all you need. There are also other ways to support the people fighting for freedom. Some ways are easier to find than others.
ATO1965, Your experience as a soldier makes you more valuable than some snot nosed butter bar fresh out of college. The fight needs both of you people and I would be honored to work along side the both of you.
Before I forget ATO1965- I was born in the 60’s and I THANK YOU for serving our country and fighting for freedom. It is because of people like you that I grew up free. I wish I could shake your hand sir.

I agree with this. It’s our knowledge and intelligence that sets us apart from our enemies. Your experience might be crucial in time.

Islamic State forces Christian hostage to call parents while being tortured

This is *very* common. Often Muslim kidnappers demand such exorbitant ransoms—more than entire Christian villages earn in year, for instance—that they cannot possibly pay them. So the only point of the “demand” is to instill unearned guilt into the families and other loved ones of the victim.
In this case, as well—the ransom was $80,000. How many in the Middle East could pay that? Hell, how many in the West could?

“Electrocuted” is a portmanteau word meaning “Executed with Electricity”. The subject of the article may have suffered electric shocks, but he wasn’t electrocuted.

This issue of hostage taking for ransom needs to be highlighted more. The fact is hostage taking for the purpose of ransom is engrained in Islamic cultures and extends back to the middle ages.
This particularly nasty variation of phoning relatives while loved ones are tortured is practiced by the Bedouin tribes in the Sinai. They have been intercepting Eritrean Christians for years trying to reach Israel and escape muslim persecution. A case of out of the pot and into the frying pan so to speak.
But once again it underlines the moral bankruptcy of Islam.

Oh how, I wish our God would intervene and wipe all these muslims off the face of the earth.
