“The hacker declined to provide any proof, though, saying he didn’t want to lose access to the sites.” If this is true, we will see that soon enough. But it may just be another attempt to “strike terror into the hearts of the enemies of Allah” (Qur’an 8:60).
“ISIS hacking group: We’re inside military websites,” by Cory Bennett, The Hill, March 25, 2015 (thanks to Jerk Chicken):
The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS)-affiliated hacking group taking credit for posting a hit list of 100 U.S. service members claims it has access to numerous U.S. military domains.
The comments came via an electronic chat with Motherboard and were made in response to Monday’s Daily Beast story, which showed the hackers could have created most of their list by Googling self-promotional Defense Department websites.
“l0l” the person told Motherboard after reading The Daily Beast article. “Clearly whoever wrote that didn’t read the leak.”
The hacker, who claimed to represent the Islamic State Hacking Division (ISHD), said he had scanned .mil domains and discovered “many of them” use outdated content management systems (CMS), which is how website managers update the site’s content.
The old systems contained flaws in the code that allowed ISHD to gain access to the sites’ servers, which had the names of the service members that were posted to the hit list.
The hacker declined to provide any proof, though, saying he didn’t want to lose access to the sites….

This sounds like a deflection ploy that is used by magicians. Look over here, while I am doing something over there. I would guess that there is a traitor in the military that gave the names. There is probably no hacker that got in, they are saying that so the military won’t go looking for a mole amongst their midst. I doubt if he military is dumb enough to believe the enemy. although Saddam Hussein was dumb enough to believe CNN on our troop placements.
BUT WE ARE NOT SADDAM, ARE WE?

From the wholly Qur’ap
I, the messenger of Allan (SWeaT) hath found backdoor applications and Trojans on a CD at a local car boot sale. This shall be the ruin of the great Spraytan and we shall be made victorious by Terriers. For verily Allan (SWeaT) hath seen the works of the lesser Spraytan (electronic surveillance voles and stoats). And lo! Muzzies shall create an internet filled with erotic cavorting goats, like hidden pearls, with flimsy veils to cover their beards.
For, verily Allan (SWeaT) is connected, cannot set up his email and has not updated his antivirus application since uncle Imran gave him the laptop.

Why oh why does the military send its traffic over TCP/IP in the form of HTTP strings? Are web browsers that important, or are the technical officers that lazy or unimaginative?
We’re in a war except when we’re not, but anyway it’s really Jihad, a different form of war, but as far as they’re concerned the mujahidin are at war with us, so maybe the military should take its computer security seriously. Don’t use the protocol everybody else uses, render the data in some secret non-browser format once you get it.

Wonder if Wikileaks or Snowden’s disclosers had anything to do with ISIS hackers’ gaining access.
Stealthmodeon says
Unlikely — snowdens leaks mainly centered around *what* the NSA was up to not specifics of *how*. Wikileaks was a dumps of emabarrasing emails/communiques from too long ago to make any tactical decisions off of.
A major world war is happening in cyber space and on the financial markets right now……..

If ISIS are in, did they get inside help from Muslim supporters of their goal of global Islamic conquest?
