“Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Lot, execute the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.” — Muhammad
And as for blasphemy, there is much support in the Qur’an and Sunnah for the death penalty for blasphemy. It can arguably be found in this verse: “Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. That is for them a disgrace in this world; and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment.” (5:33)
Also: “Those who annoy Allah and His Messenger – Allah has cursed them in this World and in the Hereafter, and has prepared for them a humiliating Punishment” (33:57)
And: “If they violate their oaths after pledging to keep their covenants, and attack your religion, you may fight the leaders of paganism – you are no longer bound by your covenant with them – that they may refrain” (9:12).
There is more in the hadith. In one, Muhammad asked: “Who is willing to kill Ka’b bin Al-Ashraf who has hurt Allah and His Apostle?” One of the Muslims, Muhammad bin Maslama, answered, “O Allah’s Apostle! Would you like that I kill him?” When Muhammad said that he would, Muhammad bin Maslama said, “Then allow me to say a (false) thing (i.e. to deceive Kab).” Muhammad responded: “You may say it.” Muhammad bin Maslama duly lied to Ka’b, luring him into his trap, and murdered him. (Bukhari 5.59.369)
“A Jewess used to abuse the Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) and disparage him. A man strangled her till she died. The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) declared that no recompense was payable for her blood.” (Sunan Abu-Dawud 38.4349)
“Islamic State says it has killed three for homosexuality, blasphemy,” ARY News, March 10, 2015:
BAGHDAD: Islamic State militants said on Tuesday they had killed two men in northern Iraq for homosexuality and another for blasphemy.
The group controls a large, self-declared caliphate in parts of Iraq and neighboring Syria, where it enforces an ultra-purist vision of Islam that condemns all but the narrowest interpretation of centuries-old Sunni Muslim law as deviance.
In a report published online, Islamic State showed an elderly bearded man reading out, in front of a crowd of people, a death sentence for two men accused of homosexuality and a third accused of cursing God.
The accused were shown in three separate pictures kneeling, blindfolded with their arms tied behind their backs, and a black-clad man holding a large sword over their heads. Photo captions said they show the executions being performed.
There were no pictures of actual beheadings taking place, but in the second and third images, the sword appeared bloodied.
Another picture showed two papers, dated March 8, from an Islamic State court in the northern Iraqi province of Nineveh. One paper condemned a man to death by sword for blasphemy, while the other said the two men accused of homosexuality must face “God’s judgment”.
Islamic State militants have also targeted Shi’ite Muslims, Christians, Yazidis and Kurds in a campaign to impose their radical variation of Sunni Islam on the areas under their control, killing hundreds of opponents….
Michael Copeland says
Curious, isn’t it, how “their radical variation of Sunni Islam” matches up neatly with the Manual of Islamic Law, “Reliance of the Traveller”?
mortimer says
Reliance of the Traveller, p17.2 – “May Allah curse him who does what Lot’s people did.” This is also repeated in three other places.
Bukhari (72:774) – “The Prophet cursed effeminate men (those men who are in the similitude (assume the manners of women) and those women who assume the manners of men, and he said, ‘Turn them out of your houses .’ The Prophet turned out such-and-such man, and ‘Umar turned out such-and-such woman.”
al-Tirmidhi, Sunan 1:152 – [Muhammad said] “Whoever is found conducting himself in the manner of the people of Lot, kill the doer and the receiver.”

Indeed, IS’s Islam lines up perfectly with that provided in Reliance because what is in Reliance is only there because it is also in the Qur’an and the Sunnah and the consensus of the scholars.
No Fear says
When Jesus makes his ‘second coming’ he will be guilty of blasphemy under the Sharia and beheaded.
Gotta love Islam ……

What more can one say…
Once more, just good Muslims being good Muslims, thus following, to the letter, that in the Qur’an and thus following the sunnah of their “prophet.”

GAY HATRED NORMATIVE ISLAM FROM SAUDI BARBARIA:
“Homosexuality is one of the most disgusting sins and greatest crimes…. It is a vile perversion that goes against sound nature, and is one of the most corrupting and hideous sins…. The punishment for homosexuality is death. Both the active and passive participants are to be killed whether or not they have previously had sexual intercourse in the context of a legal marriage…. Some of the companions of the Prophet stated that [the perpetrator] is to be burned with fire. It has also been said that he should be stoned, or thrown from a high place.”
Saudi Ministry of Education Textbooks for Islamic Studies: 2007-2008 Academic Year
mortimer says
When Mehmed conquered Constantinople in 1453, the Muslim general demanded the 14-year-old son of one of the city’s Christian leaders as his sexual concubine (the father and son chose death instead). Subsequent Ottoman administrators also engaged in homosexuality, often with the boys of conquered populations who could not afford to satisfy the jizya (poll tax on non-Muslims) in any other way than to relinquish their own children to the Religion of Peace.
And yet, homosexuals have been beheaded, hung and stoned in modern Saudi Arabia and Iran, where Muhammad’s laws are applied most strictly. Five other Muslim countries also have the death penalty on their books for homosexual behavior. In the past, gays were burned as well. As one cleric recently put it, the only point of theological debate is over how the offender should be killed.
Thus illustrates the moral confusion that Islam has with homosexuality. Small wonder that the Islamic Republic of Iran hangs gays but allows men to get a sex change (sometimes at public expense).
There are several places in the Qur’an where the story of Sodom is repeated, with emphasis placed on the destruction of the town for homosexual lewdness. Also, according to Serge Trifkovic:
Mohammed’s first successor Abu Bakr reportedly had a homosexual burned at the stake. The fourth caliph, Mohammed’s son-in-law Ali, ordered a sodomite thrown from the minaret of a mosque. Others he ordered to be stoned. One of the earliest and most authoritative commentators on the Koran, Ibn ‘Abbas (died 687) blended both approaches into a two-step execution in which “the sodomite should be thrown from the highest building in the town and then stoned. (source)
Ayatollah Abdollah Javadi-Amoli of Iran said, in April of 2012, that homosexuals are inferior to dogs and pigs, since these animals (presumably) do not engage in such acts. In November of that year, a cleric on British television stated, “What should be done to those who practice homosexuality? Torture them; punish them; beat them and give them mental torture.”
A 2014 fatwa from the mainstream OnIslam.net proclaimed that homosexuality is “abnormal” and abhorrent” and confirmed that gays should be killed: “The punishment for men or women who are unwilling to give up homosexuality and therefore are rejecting the guidance of Allah Most High is in fact death according to Islam.”
John says
What a hypocritical thing to do. Aren’t the vast majority of Islamic men homosexuals? They rape young boys regularly and as a way to shame their their enemies they sodomize them, like Kadafi, Chris Stevens, etc.

With this barbarism in mind, all gays should unite against…Israel, of course.

There has been a lot of discussion lately on the issue of Homosexuality. There is a tendency, ever so slight, among some of us to make this behavior acceptable in the name of fairness and tolerance. On the other hand there are those who would suggest summary execution of those engaging in homosexual behavior. This confusing message can be a danger in that it can erode and dilute some of our basic values. Let me preface my suggestions to develop an effective way to address this very sensitive and critical issue, with some background information.
Homosexuality is, of course, not a new behavior. It has existed in practically all cultures and among all people, but usually in fewer numbers and in secrecy, not with an “in your face” attitude as it does in the west now. Unfortunately this is the reality of the times we live in, especially in the western societies, and we need to deal with it. The Homosexual, or the gay as they call themselves, in an attempt to polish their image, constitute a very active and powerful lobby group. They have strong political and social ties and access to the elites of the society, especially in the US, up to and including President Clinton. Even though majority of the people in the US believe that homosexual behavior is wrong, it is intriguing, but never the less remarkable, that the homosexuals have gained public acceptance for their behavior in a very short period of time. This acceptance by the US public is a reflection of people who are committed to their cause and give due thought, time, money and effort to achieve their purpose, though a wrong one. The homosexual’s agenda is a very simple one to make their behavior acceptable as NORMAL, and in the process recruit more to their ranks. They have a sophisticated and multifaceted campaign to achieve their goals. These include active participation in social and political issues other than their immediate ones, like feeding the hungry and dealing with human right issues. They promote their agenda through legislation, presenting themselves as victims of prejudice and discrimination, helping to enact the gender discrimination act, legalizing and securing full benefits for same gender marriage, funding research similar to the hypothalamus issue (which shows a genetic propensity to homosexuality), teaching at even kindergarten level that the two-male or the two female can make a family unit which is an acceptable alternative that is even comparable to the traditional MOM and POP family, religious and moral blurring on the stand by establishing gay churches and synagogues, etc. etc. The most effective milestone in the homosexual movement, was probably when in 1976 the American Psychiatric Association (APA) declared that homosexuality was no longer to be considered an illness but was to be regarded merely as an orientation or a sexual variant. The rest, as they say, is history. This made a lot of people very suspicious of the scientific community, who went against known scientific data that the homosexual behavior can be changed. Even though the APA has taken an official stand, this debate continues and many prominent members of APA oppose this stand. Again this has happened and continues to happen even in religious circles, amongst Muslims and others, where experts or priests make pronouncements in favor of those from whom they stand to gain favors at the expense of the masses and against clear moral and/or scientific stands supporting the contrary or opposite views.
The strength of the movement was demonstrated by the outbreak of AIDS. Up to that point in history, there was a standard to deal with ALL communicable diseases. The scientifically developed and tested system that is in place to contain communicable diseases was bypassed with political muscle. As a result, the disease spread very rapidly and affected many innocent lives through blood supply and other preventable methods whose implementation was suppressed politically. AIDS, a communicable disease up to that point that mainly affected the homosexuals, was forced to become a political issue and became the exception to the rule. The innocent were put at risk and their lives made a living hell, some were even lost just for a political gain. The lie that is being promoted is that AIDS is equally rampant amongst the heterosexuals as it is amongst the homosexuals. Statistics contradicts this statement.
The homosexual movement has a strong network of support groups who encourage each other to “come out of the closet”, thus advancing and actively promoting this behavior. They thrive on conflict amongst the family and/or community members. They have been known to provide moral, psychological, social, and financial support to any one of their own who is making the transition into their lifestyle or who is “coming out of the closet”, so to speak.

Are Homosexuals allowed in the Bible?
Even though the Old Testament never addressed Lesbianism, but several Christians that I met in person oppose to Homosexuality because to them it is prohibited in the OT; “‘If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads. (From the NIV Bible, Leviticus 20:13)”
1 Corinthians 6:9
9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders
HOMO SEXUALITY CRIMES OF HUMANITY,PROTECTING SOCIETY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MORAL LAW
Under which category do the penal laws of the Qur’an fall? Are
they oriented towards the individual or towards the society ?
The vision of the Qur’an as regards the matters such as
individual, society and the like is totally different from that of the
materialistic ideologies. This is evident also in its penal laws. Islam is
never in consonance with the Freudian school of thought which sees
in man nothing but a mere puppet that could never break free of the
strangulating influences of the circumstances of his birth and
environment. The Marxian view that it is economic change alone which
determines all feelings of self and values is also alien to Islam. The
outlook of capitalism, too, which holds that the full light of personality
can shine forth only if those born free are also allowed to live their
lives in complete freedom,is also rejected by Islam. However, Islam
recognizes the fact that wealth, circumstances and environment all
have their effect on the personality of men. But the person, as such, is
never created by them. The individual feeling of self and the capacity
to decide his stand in differing circumstances are the prerogative of
the soul. Indeed, this has been the divine grace endowed upon man,
and man alone. For it is this very soul that enables him to distinguish
between good and evil and to decide his own choice between the two.
It is the individuals who constitute a society. It is, moreover, the
divine laws which seek to purify the individual. It is certain, then, that
the society which is made up of individuals who imbibe, within
themselves, the moral laws will be one in which peace and goodness
reigns. The individual is obliged to obey these laws. For it is only through
this that a self-purification becomes possible. Even so, there will be, in
every society, at least some who try to deviate from the moral code. If
such people are not stopped, it might spread and spread in evil becoming
rampant in the society ,thereby, leading to a state of anarchy and chaos.
The laws of the Shariah are meant to prevent such a perpetuation of
the evil.
The very objective of the penal laws in the Qur’an is to maintain
the individual and society in a state of constant purity. Islam does not
envisage a view whereby the individual may be sacrificed for the society
or the society for the individual. Nevertheless, the capitalistic outlook
which does not tolerate even the slightest encroachment of the individual
and the communist view which holds that even the most basic urges
of the individual ought to be sacrificed for the society are both alien to
Islam. The vision of Islam, on the other hand, holds that it is never a
mutually clashing relationship which must exist between the individual
and society. It is values that necessarily binds them together
harmoniously. The penal laws of the Qur’an serve to purify the individual
and the society by way of protecting these values. Thus, they are
centered neither on the individual nor on the society.
