Back in 2007 and 2008, I ran a weekly feature here at Jihad Watch: “Blogging the Qur’an.” The idea of the series is to shed light on mainstream Islamic understandings of the Qur’an, so as to illuminate the motives and goals of jihad terrorists and Islamic supremacists.
You can see the old series here. And now, with the Obama administration repeatedly reiterating the claim that Islam is fundamentally peaceful and that promoting its true and benign face will ultimately conquer the global jihad, it is time to revive it, revise it, and update it.
The folks over at PJ Media invited me to do just that, and so for the next few weeks, I’ll be presenting there a new, revised version of the series.
The first three segments have already run. In case you missed them:
Robert Spencer’s Blogging the Qur’an: Sura 2, ‘The Cow,’ Verses 1-39
THE WORLDWIDE MUST-READ: Robert Spencer’s Blogging the Qur’an: Sura 1, ‘The Opening’
Joseph says
As I said years ago, I would love to see all of Robert’s ‘blogging the Qur’an’ entries put into book form. I’d buy it.
D.C. Watson says
The religion of wide open pie holes,
Don McKellar says
“Smell that? It’s Satan passing gas — the Qur’an’s second chapter must be being recited!”
AHAHAHA!
Only the Koran, the most idiotic rantings of a lunatic ever written except for maybe Aleister Crowley’s Book of the Law, would have something so STUPID in it! Wow, you have NAILED it with these blogs. After that opening, these are now absolute required reading for every civilized human being on the planet. Funny as hell!
As somebody else just posted, this is a best-selling book on the make here. Everybody and their uncle and monkey’s uncle needs to forward the link to this astounding new blog to all of mainstream media, and even Obama (as a joke, because he’d never pull his head out of his ass when it comes to Islam) and Cameron and the rest.

Great! I loved the original but an updated one will be even better!

That book disturbs. It says in plain words we Infidels are unworthy of a god’s love.
AJ Liberphile says
Robert, why are you blogging the Koran in conventional (mixed-up) order rather than chronologically? I know it doesn’t make much sense anyway but surely putting it in chronilogical order would make it clearer?
ECAW says
I have found the existing Blogging the Quran very helpful and am very grateful to Robert Spencer for it. Is the new one going to replace it I wonder.

I really like blogging the Quran…I have been blogging it for 11-12 years now…I blogged it with Spencer, I blogged it with Hugh Fitzgerald, I blogged it with Raymond, I blogged it with Marisol, and I blogged it with Abdullah Mikail, Naseem, and some character named Dolly Buster, among others…Now I’m going to blog it again…but that’s fine, it keeps me off the street and out of trouble…

I love that guy! The one in the middle getting all full on and shit.
Imagine having a beer with that dude. You’d need a forcefield around you as he would undoubtedly try to rip your eyeballs out of their sockets every 30 seconds.
You’d be laughing your arse off and paying him out while he’d be scratching, kicking and spitting at the forcefield …
Larry A. Singleton says
I wonder if this blog supplements Spencer’s book The Complete Infidel’s Guide? Then again I was kinda peaved because it didn’t have a listing or index for Koran citations in the book. Maybe I missed it.
Edward Vaughn says
A book, yes. Great idea. Follow through on it, Robert. You have a sale here.
