Bosnia: Muslim attacks Jewish leader with weighted chain as leader was being interviewed about status of Jews

Apr 6, 2015 11:06 am By Robert Spencer

eli-tauberStatus of Jews in Bosnia: not very good, obviously. But…but…the Muslims in Bosnia are all moderates, and anyone who doesn’t think so is a racist, greasy Islamophobe! “If he was attacked because he is Jewish and because as such he is present in our media, just because he is doing his job, then it would be a very bad sign both for Sarajevo and for Bosnia and Herzegovina.” You can say that again.

“Arrest made in attack on Bosnian Jewish leader,” JTA, April 6, 2015

(JTA) — A man was arrested in connection with the attack on Bosnian Jewish leader Eli Tauber.

Tauber, an adviser on culture and religious affairs for the Jewish Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was attacked by a man wielding a weighted chain at a cafe in central Sarajevo. Many witnessed the attack.

The attack, which was widely reported in the Bosnian media, occurred on March 21 while journalists from National Geographic magazine were interviewing Tauber about the status of Jews in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

No motive has been determined, but the attack has received high-profile coverage by the local media. Some fear that Tauber, who recently established a foundation to promote Jewish culture in Bosnia and Herzegovina. was attacked because he is a prominent member of the Jewish community.

“If he was attacked because he is Jewish and because as such he is present in our media, just because he is doing his job, then it would be a very bad sign both for Sarajevo and for Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Jakob Finci, president of the Jewish Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina, told dalje.com.

Finci said it was the first such attack on a Jewish person in Sarajevo in 70 years.

Tauber said the attacker, identified as Ahmet Focak, intended to kill him. Focak was arrested two days after the attack.

Tauber is an advocate for bringing to light the suffering of Sarajevans during the Bosnia and Herzegovina war from 1992 to 1995.

Let’s recall that when the Bosnian Serbs were expelling the Muslim militias that attacked them, and the Muslim villages that supported the militias, the NATO forces viciously bombed the Serbians into surrender. In other words, the West intervened militarily in a civil war initiated (for the most part) by Muslims.

Sarajevo did contain civilized (nominal) Muslims, and these Muslims were besieged by the Serbs and did go through great suffering. One great fallacy of our government is that in a fight for survival, the West should enforce strict rules of behavior for combatants. Thus, the collateral injury of youngsters in Gaza, when Israel was eliminating an existential threat to itself from Hamas, was treated the same by the UN as the systematic slaughtering of Tutsis by the Hutus in Rwanda.

The surrender of the Serbs, who by the way had a history of supporting the Allies in World War II and opposing the deportation of Jews, opened the way for non-Bosnian Muslims to enter the country, Muslims who had no commonality with the more urbane Bosnian Muslims. The result will be increasing pressure on the Jewish and Christian communities.

The main point is, once again the West is its own worst enemy, and turns a relatively simple problem, the exclusion of Muslims as Muslims from entering Western borders, into a terribly complex and threatening dilemma.

Incidentally, I do not support shipping weapons to both sides of a fight in the Middle East, as between Iran and Iraq. I do not see it as morally correct to encourage killing between Muslims. I don’t see it as our duty to prevent it, but I see it as very much our responsibility to not facilitate the killing of Muslims unless in direct self-defense.

Great comments Ronald. Two other reasons why the US and NATO sided with muslims and attacked the Serbs. The Clinton administration was hugely influenced by Turkey to campaign against Serbia who at the time and still is a enemy to muslim Albania. The U.S. was also funding an oil pipeline thru Turkey weakening Russia’s monopoly on oil distribution in the region, so we’d do backflips for the Turks to get this completed. NATO also approached Serbia for future inclusion and the Serbs said no way, another reason to bomb them into submission.
Funny how the Croats ( NATO member ) were doing their fair share pushing out muslims in their own controlled areas but no protest by the USA.

Under Tito, Yugoslavia was having Muslim problems. The Wall Street Journal ran a story in 1969 about how Muslim conscripts were increasingly switching to killer mode and shooting their Christian barrackroom comrades in arms. “Just wait until Tito dies!” wrote the smug WSJ. Unimaginable that something like that could ever happen in the USA.

          cs and Mariam,

The Wikipedia account is pretty much the same as in Ibn Ishaq’s “Sirat Rasul Allah” (The Life of Muhammad.)

According to that (Islamic) source, the Banu Qurayza Jews allied with the Quraysh and another Arab tribe to defeat Muhammad and the Muslims. There was a secret Muslim, friendly to the Jews and the Quraysh who spread rumors of treachery in each camp. The Quraysh finally lost heart and left the Jews to be besieged and then slaughtered by Muhammad.

So yes, the Jews were engaged in treachery against Muhammad, according to Islamic sources.

Miriam, “banu” means tribe in this context. The “Prophet” Muhammed first banished the Jewish Banu Qurayza, then later conquered them, massacring all of the men and boys over the age of puberty by beheading, and enslaving all women and children.

Accounts vary slightly, but there were up to 900 victims of beheading.

Here’s my cartoon dealing with the atrocity:

Netanyahu Urges ‘Mass Immigration’ of Jews From Europe

    By ISABEL KERSHNERFEB. 15, 2015

    Excerpt:

JERUSALEM — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel said on Sunday that his government was encouraging a “mass immigration” of Jews from Europe, reopening a contentious debate about Israel’s role at a challenging time for European Jews and a month before Israel’s national elections.

    And …

“Jews have been murdered again on European soil only because they were Jews,” Mr. Netanyahu said Sunday in Jerusalem. “Of course, Jews deserve protection in every country, but we say to Jews, to our brothers and sisters: Israel is your home,” he added.

Just from the standpoint of survival, Israel is better off if not all the Jews go to Israel.

Consider that Britain and France, among the other Western nations, have supported one-sided resolutions in the UN General Assembly and Security Council for condemning Israel, and probably preparatory to formalizing UN-mandated sanctions and divestment from Israel. It is a matter of complaining about the pimple on Israel, while ignoring the festering cancer in Islamic countries.

The US has up to now provided the only veto protecting Israel, and who has any doubts that the Obama administration would happily do an about-face and support sanctions against Israel, except for the heavy presence of Jews in the US Democratic party. The Jews might abandon the Democratic party wholesale if the Obama administration came out so openly malevolent towards Israel.

If all the Jews left the US, it would be carte blanche for the leftist fascists who are interested in destroying Israel.

As someone who lived in Bosnia during the war in the early 90’s and witnessed the atrocities that occured during those years, I actually can’t believe how ignorant some of these comments are. In my village in Bosnia the Serbs and Muslims were friends before the war, in fact we often has Serb friends come over to our house for dinner and coffee then overnight the Serbs decided they hated us and that we were somehow a threat to them even though we did absolutely nothing to them. So don’t you dare sit behind your computers and tell me that Muslims are the monsters in Bosnia if you weren’t there to witness first hand what was happening. I watched my father being taken away by Serb soldiers, the same Serbs that were over at our house the other night for dinner. Our family previosuly had nothing against Serbs or Christians and we never did anything to them and never planned to do anything to them so they had no reason to decide to attack our innocent family as well as thousands of other innocent families. I also know many innocent Muslim civilians in Bosnia that watched their parents or siblings killed infront of them by Serb soldiers. And you are telling me that the Muslims are the evil ones in Bosnia? I can’t believe how brainwashed by media some people are. Killing innocent civilians whether they are Muslim, Christian, Jew, Hindu, whatever religion they are is simply wrong and never ok. I’m not saying that there are no bad Muslims in Bosnia, off course there are but there are bad people in every religion, the people that killed my friends and took my dad away were bad and they were Christian. Does this mean that i’m going to blame the whole Christian religion and claim that everyone who is Christian is evil? No, because i’m not ignorant or stupid. It doesn’t matter what religion someone is it is NEVER ok to kill an innocent civilian and there is no religion in this world that doesn’t have extremists in it who are willing to kill innocent people. Only ignorent, closed minded, unintelligent people will blame one religion for all the problems in the world. And the person who wrote that the media was lying when they showed Muslims crying over graves in Bosnia during the war, unfortunetly speeking as a witness who experienced the war and lost family and friends during the war, I can tell you that they weren’t lying. Millions of innocent Muslims suffered at the hands of Serbs during that war and i’m not saying that Serbs didn’t suffer as well but during that specific war the Serbs were the ones that instigated the war and the Muslims were the ones who had no choice but to defend themselves. I am in no way defending all Muslims and saying that all Muslims are innocent because there are Muslims who have also killed innocent Serbs such as the Muslims in Kosovo, what i’m saying is that you can’t simply judge every single person in a religion as good or bad, you can’t say that ALL Muslims are evil and you can’t say that ALL Christians are evil. No religion is evil, but every religion has extremists that kill innocent people. Even though Christian Serbs killed my family and friends during the war this doesn’t mean i’m going to hate all Christians or all Serbs because i’m not ignorant or stupid enough to believe that it’s a religions fault that some mentally unstable person decided to kill innocent civilians. And the person that commented saying that Serbs killed Muslims during the early 90s war because of what the Turks had previously done to the Serbs well going by that logic this means that i should go and start killing Serbs because of what some mentally unstable ones did to my family during the war. I won’t though because i’m not mentally unstable or insane enough to kill an innocent person because they happen to share the same religion as someone who previously attacked my family.

Anyone who has eyes to see and a functioning brain knows that Islam is evil.

And you appear to be an apologist for this evil religion, which make you complicit.

Nina, I hear what you say and appreciate your writing.

I can’t justify atrocities against innocent people. I don’t disbelieve your experiences, but I still believe on the whole, the US and NATO attacks on the Serbs was strongly destructive for future peace and individual rights in the area.

I’m aware that Bosnian Muslims, at least at the time of the breakup, were urbane, generally peaceful, and probably close to the Serbs in culture. And I point out that the government of Serbia itself sought the capture of Mladic, the Serb military commander who engineered the worst massacres.

But, I don’t want to discount your experiences. I wish for Muslims like yourself, already citizens of Western countries who seem to share the culture of individual freedom and representative government, the benefits and protections of citizenship.

    • Leo Dave says

      Apr 7, 2015 at 2:41 pm

Nina, I take issue with your account. Muslims were the instigators. Supremacist Muslim players were deeply involved in the Bosnian conflict more so than you may be aware.

“..Iran, Algerian, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and even Ossama bin Laden and his mujahedeen forces were in Bosnia and supplying the Bosnian Muslims.”

It seems that wherever there is some quarrel, controversy, dispute, or conflict in the world, whether Syria or benign political rivalries in the US and even the Ferguson Missouri riots, supremacist Muslims are drawn to it like flies on a t*rd. Mayhem ensues.

It’s a long hard read but this 2002 article clears up much of the complexity, political-PR-media spin, lies and deception obscuring the mind-staggering truth buried in this conflict. How twisted did it get? Imagine, Jews were convinced to side with Muslims in this conflict.

        Leo Dave,

I did read through the entire article on the Origin and Causes of the Bosnian Civil War. I did not read the second article because the link is broken.

The article provides a very informative view of the Bosnian conflict, although it seemed to not pay much attention to Kosovo at all. Further, the article put the history into a framework with which not everyone would agree, and which was not essential to understanding how the conflict unfolded. The last part was the best, as it more-or-less stuck to a recounting of the actual maneuvers of the conflict, which were lopsided enough on their own.

The article paints Germany as the baddest of the bad, cynically throwing away any chance for peace in order to expand its sphere of influence. The article portrays Germany as ignoring or actively discouraging the efforts of the Bosnian Serbs, Muslims, and Catholics to avoid a civil war by creating ethnic, semi-autonomous districts. Germany discouraged the agreement (Lisbon Agreement of 1992), and lobbied to support the Bosnian Muslims to unilaterally declare independence, leaving the Serb (and Croatian) minorities out on a limb with no guarantees of political or personal rights.

Further, once the Bosnian majority Muslims ran into military trouble, the Muslim and Croatian governments, with the support of the US State Department, engaged high-priced public relations firms to convince the US that the Serbs were acting like the Nazis had acted, justifying US and NATO intervention in Bosnia on the side of the Muslim majority government.

We know from their writings that that Muslim and Croatian leaders in the breakup, particularly in Bosnia, had designs on the supremacy of their group, although they bowed to reality to the extent of signing a formal agreement guaranteeing the rights of each minority. It was this agreement that primarily Germany, but also the US, chose to push aside in the quest for separate and compliant vassal states in the area.

We don’t know if Serbian leaders had supremacist designs, because the article doesn’t tell us. The article decries the use of propaganda rather than real truth, but itself does not present an objective history. It might indeed be presenting the truth, but it weakens its own case by the exclusion of details on the Serbs.

In sum, it claims the break-offs of the Bosnian, Kosovan, and Croatian Republics were cynically engineered by German imperial influence-pedaling, with enthusiastic US support. The military actions against the Serbs were ginned up by unscrupulous public relations firms who manufactured Serbian atrocities and suppressed news of Serbian suffering.

Nina nobody is implying that all Muslims are bad, we are dealing with group dynamics here. Let me ask you a question.

What would non-Muslim Americans do if Muslim Americans elected a man with aspirations like those held by Alija Izetbegovic, threatened to secede and from the Union creating a new Muslim majority nation?

      Hum?

Personally I think you’d find Serbs rather peaceful by comparison.

I think Bosnian Muslims are a best case scenario, but when push came to shove, they went for a guy like Alija, it’s unavoidable.

    • Peggy says

Nobody is saying that there were not Muslim casualties or innocent Muslims dying. It was a civil war started by Muslims and all civil wars are bloody and too many innocent people die on all sides.
What we are saying is that you elected a madman who wanted Islam to be dominant and rule Bosnia once it broke away from Yugoslavia.
What do you think Serbs could do about that? The onlyu thing possible was to fight back. How many innocent Serbs did your hero Naser Oric kill (he admitted this himself and was proud)? He and his fighters (of which were young teenagers) were killing Serbs around Srebrenica indiscriminately, under the nose of the UN. Yes, Serbs retaliated in a harsh way but the women and children were put on busses and allowed to leave. It was the males that were held back and killed. Notice I said children which also includes male children. Not anyone’s fault (except for Oric) that Muslims had young males taking part in killings like they do now. Thanks to western propaganda this was claimed to be a genocide. That word genocide was used very liberally because if you look up the term you will find that allowing women and children to leave is not genocide.
General Lews McKenzie was there but he was relived of duty when he didn’t town the line so another general took his place.
You see, when you win the propaganda war you have a good chance of winning the actual war and we all know how honest Muslims are.

Painfully, I have to agree with much of what you say. The US destroyed the reigning governments of Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and Egypt under Mubarak. It tried very hard to destroy the government of Syria. In all those countries except Egypt, a fanatic Islamic government took power. If the Anti-Islam Movement were coherent, it would be able to (and would) vet such things. As it is, as we straggle along in our various counter-jihad communities (such as they are), it’s left up to individuals here and there piping up with their opinions on the matter.

Western involvement with global Islamic expansion is undeniable. As an American, I have to say our foreign policy is 100 times more important in dealing with islams curtailment then let’s say Mexicos. Avenger,

I agree with you 100%, except that I don’t think you go far enough. I think any President or Federal official, including congressmen, should have NO foreign income, except for general stock investments, open to anybody. Any direct or indirect foreign contributions to politician or political groups, including special interest groups, should be a felony.

We should not have leaders beholden to foreign money. They need to make their choice. If they choose to use foreign money, godspeed, but they will have shut themselves out of the political process.

I think a citizen ought to be able to make unlimited, no-strings attached contributions to any US candidate, as long as it is open and public. Any conditions on the contribution, an agreement to support certain legislation or whatever, would be a felony for both contributor and receiver.

I don’t see how a country can expect its leaders to make decision in its best interest if they are on the payroll of foreigners. It’s just totally illogical.

Satan gives his muslims, his own demonic hatred of jews.
