The catastrophe of this cannot be overstated. The US and the free world will be paying for this deal for a long time to come.
“Iran Brags About Nuke Concessions,” by Adam Kredo, Washington Free Beacon, April 2, 2015:
LAUSANNE, Switzerland—Iran and world powers on Thursday announced that following the latest round of nuclear negotiations, Western powers agreed to permit Iran to continue operating the core aspects of its nuclear program and that all sanctions of the Islamic Republic would be terminated.
After failing to meet a March 31 deadline for the announcement of a firm political agreement, Secretary of State John Kerry and Javad Zarif, his Iranian counterpart, said that the sides had agreed in principle to let Iran continue running major portions of its nuclear program.
Despite threats from Obama administration officials that the United States would abandon talks if Iran continued to demand greater concessions, Kerry extended his trip and conducted a series of meetings aimed at hashing out a statement of progress—a far cry from the detailed document officials vowed would be finalized by now.
The sides continue to disagree over Iranian demands that it be permitted to continue key nuclear research and granted the ability to ramp its program up to industrial capacity after a decade.
However, Zarif said many of these issues are closer to being resolved.
“None of those measures” that will move to scale back Iran’s program “include closing any of our facilities,” Zarif said. “We will continue enriching; we will continue research and development.”
“Our heavy water reactor will be modernized and we will continue the Fordow facility,” Zarif said. “We will have centrifuges installed in Fordow, but not enriching.”
The move to allow Iran to keep centrifuges at Fordow, a controversial onetime military site, has elicited concern that Tehran could ramp up its nuclear work with ease.
Zarif said that once a final agreement is made, “all U.S. nuclear related secondary sanctions will be terminated,” he said. “This, I think, would be a major step forward.”
Zarif also revealed that Iran will be allowed to sell “enriched uranium” in the international market place and will be “hopefully making some money” from it….

I think perhaps the first sentence was meant to say “overstated.” But this is one of those bits of English usage where no matter which way you say it, someone could find a reason to nitpick. Anyway, this is very worrying, but I did like seeing (in a different article online) that thanks to pressure from Congress, Obama is likely to make public more details of the emerging agreement than would otherwise have been the case.
I remember talking with a couple of Iranian women several years ago; they said they and their parents and everyone they knew hated “those mullahs,” and they hoped that American pressure would help get those guys out of power. At that time, we were busy invading Iraq. I said Iran needed to spread a rumor that it had weapons of mass destruction and then we’d probably topple the regime. Looks like it’s not working out that way.

Indeed, you are absolutely right. The Western Leadership definitely has no grip on history. Perhaps, they don’t give a toss – in the case of Obama, well, he has pried open Pandora’s Box; hence, the threat on Israel’s existence is now weighted heavier than ever before. This, in my mind, is exactly Obama’s bilious intent. The risk factor of the Western powers has risen a thousandfold, too.

When where you dropped from a far away planet ??? America’s leader is all for Terrorist leaders, like one in Iran. Obama is an ideology Marxist leader, who will stop at nothing , just to make him look good. Since first elected in first term , it’s been his goal to bring America down to third world country level, which then would put this world in danger.

Israel’s defence system, David’s Sling, and other layers of cutting edge military technology are being developed at an incredible pace. Delaying Iran’s nuke program for another year would give Israel the breathing space she needs to put the system in place. Such a move would render Iran’s nuke program pointless and impotent.
Long live Israel!

UNLESS THERE’S REGIME CHANGE IN IRAN IT WILL BECOME A NUCLEAR ARMED STATE
Just 14 hours and 25 minutes after April Fools Day the worst and most dangerous appeasing head of state since Neville Chamberlain announced to the nation and world his historically bad peace-in-our-time Munich deal with Islamonazi terrorist Iran: that he’s given up trying to stop them from becoming a nuclear armed state; and that he’s giving them their economy back with the eventual lifting of all economic sanctions worth billions to finance their growing empire of oppression, terror and death.
What Obama didn’t say (and knows to be true as it would make him look like the biggest fool since Hitler deceived Chamberlain) is that even if Iran becomes 100% transparent about its domestic nuclear program. Even if the terrorist mullahs open up every inch of their vast $100 billion nuclear infrastructure to the most rigorous UN inspection and verification process it won’t stop them from getting the bomb. Why? Because just as the Saudis can acquire nukes from Pakistan (which they don’t want to do but will do if Iran goes nuclear) the mullahs can easily acquire them from their “Axis of Evil” allies in North Korea-the worst nuclear proliferators on earth. And if anyone is dumb enough to doubt this then they need to recall that just one year after the Norks detonated their first nuclear bomb they were hard at work (possibly with Iran) on building a nuclear weapons facility for Bashar Assad in Syria-before Israel destroyed it.
Radical terrorist jihadist Iran is staying the course to a nuclear armed state, and nothing can stop it but regime change. What we heard in the Rose Garden today was a political smoke and mirrors charade for 2016. Nothing more.

The difference is Chamberlain had under-equipped Armed Forces largely armed with obsolete weapons and equipment at his disposal, whilst Hitler had been rearming Germany’s Armed Forces with state of the art for the 1930s for the previous five years – and he knew it. The US has a huge state of the art nuclear arsenal and Armed Forces equipped with some of the worlds best weaponry. Chamberlain wasn’t equipped to stop Hitler, in stark contrast, the US is more than equipped to stop Iran, has put up with Iranian-sponsored terrorism for 36 years, and therefore has fewer excuses.
ApolloSpeaks says
Hitler absolutely deceived Chamberlain into believing that he was a normal European statesman with legitimate grievances that could be appeased. But Obama is worse than Chamberlain. He’s not deceived by Iran which makes him a far worse and more menacing appeaser.

SpiritOf1683 says
Chamberlain knew we hadn’t the means to stop Hitler, so that meant putting war off for as long as possible. Churchill never blamed Chamberlain for our weakness. Instead, he blamed Stanley Baldwin, Chamberlain’s predecessor, who was Prime Minister at the time when Hitler could have been stopped, either by force or by bluff.
ApolloSpeaks says
BTW, what good is it to be “more than equipped to stop Iran” if we lack the WILL to do it?
umbra says
As good as a turd flavoured lolly pop.
SpiritOf1683 says
That posting of mine implies that the US and the rest of the West has lacked the will to stop Iran. If you’ve got the means but won’t do it, then that by definition means you lack the will.

Thanks for the info, JW. I’m saying good-bye to commenting, because I have experimented trying on various points of view as a commenter and concluded that the Middle East is far too complex, and the variables too fluctuating, for any of us to know really what is happening outside the varieties of opinion we hold between our ears. I’m taking instead a spiritual and not political path as a result of deep prayer and meditation. Once upon a time I experienced positive, compassionate energy around Sufi mystics and their dancing. The S. Baptists of my youth on the other hand used the bible to deride girls and women as second class, and they didn’t dance. My spiritual path has been varied, and I have experienced a recent quantum shift in perspective about the infinite, the temporal, the place all of the current chaos has in the bigger picture of the universe or multiverse. So, good-bye, with every blessing for this world. Or as Doug Adams titled one of his books, good-bye and thanks for all the fish. Sounds also like a title Jesus might have written, if he’d wanted to leave a book behind.

I don’t know: “wiping Israel off the map is non-negotiable” doesn’t really sound all that complex to me. Neither does “Death to Israel!” or “Death to America!”.

*Really*? Then you don’t care that politically Sufis are still supporters of violent Jihad? I guess that would be too “political”. I suppose it doesn’t matter that they share the same view of women that all Muslims do: that they can be married off at nine, that their husbands can beat them, that they can be “Honor Killed” or stoned to death.
Surely this is not an issue compared to the misogynist Southern Baptists, who do not actually believe any of these things. Again, probably too “political”…

Words that will come back to haunt Mr. Obama….
“It’s no secret that the Israeli prime minister and I don’t agree about whether the United States should move forward with a peaceful resolution to the Iranian issue. If in fact Prime Minister Netanyahu is looking for the most effective way to ensure Iran doesn’t get a nuclear weapon, this is the best option,” Obama said.
Linda Rivera says
Did the Obama regime promise to reward Iran with mega dollars and promise to send top U.S. nuclear scientists to Iran to speed up Iran becoming a nuclear power? Did the U.S. also tell Iran which nation(s) they would like eradicated?
andrew says
no – but
if sanctions were lifted Iran would benefit by billions of dollars
and NO America did not have to tell Iran who to eradicate as you put it – Iran made it very clear that Israel needs to be eradicated
andrew says
If you look at the photo for this write up – if you look at both men you can see who looks totally defeated and who looks the victor – Secretary of State John Kerry looks dejected and almost like he is saying ” what have we done ? “…….. mean while Javad Zarif looks like he could go another 10 rounds and is very pleased with himself

The key to the Iranian problem is the same as the Baha’i problem – evil mullahs.
Many everyday Iranian Muslims hate and detest the mullahs and blame them for Irans backwardness.
A person once told me that there is a saying that one day there will be a mullah hanging from every tree.
I am friends with a lot of Persians and they are the most wonderful people with tremendous hospitality and kindness and are deeply ashamed at what their country has degenerated into at the hands of the mullahs.
There are very few good mullahs beginning to stand up against the persecution of Baha’is but it is very dangerous to do so.
Baha’is are often imprisoned for corrupting the earth and being spies of Israel because our World Centre and holy places are in Israel in Haifa.
We are denied citizenship, higher education and our work places are often shut down and our cemeteries recently desecrated. We are denied legal representation and often the sentence is about 10-20 yrs. This has gone on for 170 yrs. the Baha’is are the largest minority religion in Iran but are not recognised. So when we apply for any legal document we cannot fill in the religious requirement so are denied all legal statuses.
There have been massacres of Baha’is in our early history and also last century many hangings for no other reason than we would not denounce our belief. Many Fatwas have been issued against us that we are unclean and not to associate with us or do business with us.
One day we will be free but we will never act towards them as they have treated us.
The mullahs recently desecrated a Baha’i cemetery exhuming the bodies and treating them disrespectfully and laid the foundation of a sports centre and at the stone laying gloated how they had won a mighty victory against us but the victory, if you can call it that is to win the prize for the lowest acts a human can stoop to, to attack innocent, unarmed well wishers and fellow citizens of Iran.
My heart bleeds for what they have done and continue to do to all Iranians not just Baha’is. But truth is a light that no earthly power can extinguish and truth has always lived on despite the most cruel savage acts committed to suppress it.
We believe in all faiths including the Quran and never oppose them. When they send a letter to our address asking us to report to jail to serve our sentences we obey and go although completely innocent.
What mullas fear most about Baha’is is that our love for humanity will conquer their hate for it and that our belief in the equality of all men will spread and their goal is to dominate and control and subjugation of the population.
They use hate propaganda on the radio and have posters on walls warning people about Baha’is. Yet we remain silent and patient and place our hope in the humanity we love that when good men speak out the evil against us and others will gradually cease and one day we will be free.
Our women are considered prostitutes because they don’t wed according to Muslim law as it requires us to denounce our Faith.
Only fair minded and just people speaking out against injustice can hope to help.
Baha’is stand for everything good that people believe in. To lock us up like animals and deny us status as human beings is an attack on anyone who believes in goodness and life.
Jihad Watch should ask mullahs questions why the Baha’is are prisoners and persecuted. What crime have we committed??? What are we guilty of?? There are about half a million Baha’is in Iran the largest religious minority.
Why are we persecuted??? For what crime are half a million people guilty??
Mirren10 says
”Why are we persecuted???”
Because of mohammed and the koran, but you refuse to see that; in fact, you embrace and worship the means of your persecution.
” For what crime are half a million people guilty??”
See above.
I have no sympathy for bahai’s. Ditch the putrescent mohammed and his koranic drivel; then you might have a leg to stand on.

The sky is falling. Or, it is not. The Indiana state law is a thinly veiled means of discriminating against homosexuals. Or, it is not. This ‘deal’ with Iran does not safeguard against it building a nuclear bomb. Or, it does. My hunch is that we can know the definitive answers to questions like these by knowing what the facts are. Such as getting a credible weather report; or, reading the law passed along with commentary and analysis; or, waiting for a believable information source to analyze the agreement as signed into effect by all parties.
Personally, I would prefer to hear PM Netanyahu’s analysis, but nobody listens to me.
