And it’s only May. But not to worry: all the learned analysts tell us that the Islamic State has nothing to do with Islam. “While D.C. Downplays Risk, U.S. Sees Shocking Rise in Terror Arrests This Year,” by Patrick Poole, PJ Media, May 27, 2015:
The arrest of two southern California men last week who were planning to travel to Syria to join the Islamic State brings the number of U.S.-based individuals involved in international terror-related cases this year to 40. (UPDATE: with the arrest of Houston-area Asher Abid Khan late Monday for supporting ISIS, the tally is now 41.)
This number highlights the metastasizing Islamic terror threat in the American homeland. At the current pace, by the end of June — halfway through 2015 — the number of cases will exceed the number from the past two years combined (48).
The Islamic State, as well as al-Qaeda affiliates and other Islamic terror groups, have repeatedly called for supporters to conduct attacks inside the American homeland:
- After the U.S. began bombing ISIS targets last September, the group called for attacks in response.
- Just days after the Charlie Hebdo attack in Paris in January, a call for attacks targeting “intelligence officers, police officers, soldiers and civilians” was re-released.
- In March, the group released a “kill list” including the names, photos, and addresses of U.S. military personnel.
- This month, after the attempted terror attack in Garland, Texas, they claimed to have 71 trained operatives located in 15 American cities.
Recent evidence gives cause for concern. As I noted here at PJ Media, FBI Director Comey downplayed the number of Americans who had traveled to Syria to fight with ISIS and other terror groups before the midterm elections. He stated on 60 Minutes that “roughly a dozen” were fighting in Syria. But in February, senior officials corrected that number. They admitted that 180 had traveled to Syria. They also admitted that 40 had returned to the U.S. and posed a potential threat. FBI Director Comey then said they were investigating ISIS suspects in all 50 states.
Underscoring the failure to alert the public regarding the threat, concerned citizens have not been able to find a list of the 40 individuals arrested this year. Until now, a public list simply didn’t exist.
Here they are: the 40 U.S.-based individuals charged in Islamic terror-related cases in 2015….
Read the list here.
mortimer says
At least several hundred American residents and citizens are dangerous terrorists. They are hiding in the Muslim community and receive support and admiration from them. 15% of Muslims say they approve of terrorist groups like Hamas. The terrorists become radicalized by Islamic study groups.
With no Islamic study groups, there will be few terrorists. The action of learning the jihad doctrine activates a Muslim by teaching the duty of jihad as the highest action in Islam, exceeding prayer in reward by thousands of times.
oldwhiteguy says
I guess that would be the 41 they know about. there are probably hundreds.
mortimer says
Do the numbers. There are about 2.6 million Muslims living in the US. 15% say they support jihad. Of those, maybe 1 in a thousand (conservatively) are mentally ready for jihad (not all Muslims are supposed to go on jihad…it’s alright to financially support it). That’s about 400 serious jihadists in the USA. They can be anyone. Eventually, law enforcement will fail to observe someone. They look no different than other Muslims.
The government needs a deprogramming school for returnees (since they would have trouble taking away citizenship). All governments need to deprogram Muslims.
Shane says
Do not let them return; take away their citizenship and declare them to be enemy combatants. Why should we let members of terrorist groups back into the USA?
duh_swami says
You keep using that super low 15% number. In my estimation that makes for 85% closet apostates. That would be a good thing if true, but I suspect it is not…
jimmy says
deprogram? how about DEPORT. the genie is out of the bottle there’s no reprogramming that and the one’s who left can stay the hell out and live in that shithole they left for, they made their beds now they can sleep in them. the quicker we rid the country of this Islamic shit the better off we’ll all be.
mortimer says
The US needs a deprogramming protocol to prove Islam is false so that jihadists can be neutralized and no longer wish to pursue jihad. Without debunking Islam completely, the government has no ability of showing why jihad is wrong.
Jihad is wrong, because Islam is untrustworthy as a creed, contradicts the Golden Rule and has no answers for resolving the world’s problems. Islam’s only solution is to return to the 7th century…a prescription for poverty, ignorance, disease and unending conflict.

Mortimer…There is this thing in psychiatry called, ‘fixed delusion’.
All pious Mahoundians have this condition…And it cannot be deprogrammed. That’s why it is ‘fixed’. The bottom line is you have to convince the jihadist that Allah is not god…That may be easier said than done…

“41 Muslims from the US have tried to join the Islamic State in 2015”.
BUT – The Obama Administration IS not only Allowing Americans to Leave the U.S., to Wage Jihad.

The Obama Administration is ALLOWING the SAME Americans BACK in to the U.S. AFTER after leaving the U.S. to wage Jihad.

Don McKellar says
41 stopped.
How many succeeded that we don’t know about (yet)?
401?
4001?
Considering Obama’s sabotaging of the ability for law enforcement to study, learn about, or even mention Islam in its efforts to combat ISLAMIC TERRORISM, it is impossible to say how many actually have made it through so far this year. Isn’t it?
Paladin says
They admitted that 180 had traveled to Syria. They also admitted that 40 had returned to the U.S. and posed a potential threat.
Why the F are we letting these people back in? The government is allowing us to be killed in the next 9/11 or Ft Hood. Absolutely treasonous.
Jack Diamond says
It will only get harder to track as the Islamic State opens bureaus in Libya, Waziristan, and Nigeria with more to come.
Our laws make stripping a person of citizenship or convicting them of treason very difficult, to say the least. We have detention and removal of alien terrorists, and ISIS etc are designated FTOs:
“The Department of State announced the amendment of the designation of al-Qa’ida in Iraq (AQI) as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) under Section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act and as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist entity under section 1(b) of Executive Order (E.O.) 13224 to add the alias Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) as its primary name…The Department will also add the following aliases to the ISIL listing: the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS), the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), ad-Dawla al-Islamiyya fi al-‘Iraq wa-sh-Sham, Daesh, Dawla al Islamiya, and Al-Furqan Establishment for Media Production. Furthermore, under the same authorities, the Department of State designated al-Nusrah Front as a standalone FTO and SDGT.”
8 U.S.C. § 1226a : US Code – Section 1226A: Mandatory detention of suspected terrorists; habeas corpus; judicial review : for the detention and removal of alien terrorists.
For U.S. citizens, however, it requires trying to work around Constitutional protections or revisiting laws on treason…unless the Islamic State were to be recognized as a State.
The Islamic State is an actual functioning government. Recognizing it as a State and a State-sponsor of terrorism, and that it considers itself at war with the United States, would mean Americans who take up arms for that State would be candidates for losing citizenship. That would be one route since our laws were written when wars were fought between countries and (voluntarily) forfeiting citizenship had to do with swearing oath of allegiance to another country or serving in the armed services of a nation at war with the United States. This would apply to revoking passports as well, the United States can only revoke the passport of any citizen who fights in the military of a country hostile to America.
The Terrorist Expatriation Act of 2010, introduced by Joe Lieberman and not enacted, provided for an administrative tribunal that could strip citizenship for for “engaging in, or purposefully and materially supporting, hostilities” against either the United States or its military allies or providing “material support” for a FTO. The problem is that it was written too broadly (what might constitute “material support” in a matter as serious as revoking citizenship?) and should be limited to something easier to define, directly joining and fighting for a terrorist entity–the current reality with running off to join the IS. Given the 14th Amendment it becomes a Constitutional debate, whether Congress has that authority.
Adam Gadahn was indicted for treason but he was killed so there never was a trial. Others like John Walker Lindh or Jose Padilla were not charged with treason. Are treason trials alone, given the high-standard for conviction and the few number in our history, the way to go? Any Constitutional lawyers in the room? There are mechanisms for keeping these particular jihadis from returning, there just needs to be a will.
G. Gardiner says
I agree with Mortimer. Muslims need to learn the truth about their founder and their faith.
Teach the children of Islam what they won’t hear from their imams and their parents: that Muhammad invented Islam to get more women and power.
Joe Smith pulled the same trick with his Mormonism, but at least he didn’t slaughter all around him and leave behind a legacy of barbarism.

Terror Threat ! Imam HIGHLY OFFENDED ! 🙁 41 Moderate Islimeys leave Islam in a suposedly Free Country to convert to Christianity ! 🙂

Whats scary despite our relatively small population in Australia compared to the US, is our numbers trying to join ISIS are not that far behind the United States, and many ( est 100 -250) have been successful in their bid to join these muslim barbarians in Syria and Iraq.
In Australia we are now paying for our reckless and ill thought out immigration policies of the last 40 odd years with only excellent work by intelligence and law enforcement agencies foiling a number of large scale attacks on our home soil

Its very hard to find a nationalist muslim. All after few years when young or at old age become 100 % Jihadis . 99.9 % muslims are local converts first generation or many generations . All bow to saudis with no questions asked as if they have no mind to think right and wrong.

.
These 41 that somehow we know about. How about thousands and maybe tens of thousands of MUSLIMS WHO WANT TO DO IT AND PRETEND THAT THEY “LOVE AMERICA”
ISLAM IS THE PROBLEM.

!. They should not be let back in to the country.
2. If they show up anyway, they should be arrested for crimes against humanity
3. Sent to Allah…
